FM12: Looking For Thread

Recommended Posts

Club: Newcastle United

Budget: £8.8 million

Looking for: Right-hand sided midfielder

With: An ability to beat a man but, with a good final product.

Other: He must also be able to score the odd goal.

Season: Summer | 2011-2012 season

Loyalty Bonus: This depends on the player in question

Agent Fee: "^"

I have failed in bids for Fulham's Clint Dempsey, who's personal demands were far from what I was expecting and available to pay, and Markel Susaeta, who recently signed a new contract at Athletic Bilbao. I'd prefer to sign someone from within the Premier League or the continent but, I'm not too keen on acquiring someone from South America

Birker Bjarnason from Viking can be had for around 2.5m, looks decent, though not managed him.

What am I thinking of, though! Matt Phillips from Blackpool will be a great bet for around £5m. Really good little player, English, young and just gets better.

Zela, look at André Ayew, Jucilei, Alan Dzagoev, Gylfi Sigurdsson and even Beram Kayal.

Someone asked for a LB a little up the page - try and get Emilio Izaguirre. He's overrated on FM, but he's incredible, so nyeh.

And Llew, only got two suggestions for you - Junior Hoilett and Esteban Granero.

All those players cost me 5M+, right? And most don't want to come.

I will take a look to Emilio Izaguirre, thanks!

Hi lads,

Looking for some free transfers for my Monaco side in pre-season of season 1. Wages must be under 20k. Anyone got a gem that I may have overlooked? Age does matter, but preferably under 35, and predominantly in the DMC and ST positions. Thanks. Also, signing on fees must be a minimum because Monaco are in a little bit of debt!

Looking for loans aswell, but wages are prohibitive.

In the same boat as you but with Reims instead.

ST: Ahmed Soukouna, Abdou Dieye

DMC: Not sure why you are looking one as Nampalys Mendy is great here, Coulibaly is decent backup

Your wanting to replace Messi . How old is he on your save?

I would say a regen is your best bet at that stage of your game to be honest.

He's about 29. My team performs about 30% better with him in the starting eleven. I won't replace him for a good few years but I need to think about getting someone else in so he can tutor them. All part of a long term plan see.

Just wondered if there was a young freak available in the game who was anywhere near as good as King Lionel.

Most likely gonna need a regen. The only possibility i can think of is Carlos Fierro and he's much more of a specialised poacher.

I wanted an experienced ball winner, but we are quite well stocked there.

I got Grenier on loan, plus Luciano Figueroa(good CF) on a free. Trying to get Malbranque too.

Club: Southampton

Budget: Somewhere around 6-8 million USD.

Looking for: AMR/ST to play as Inside Forward. Left- or either-footed. Willing to retrain position.

With: Speed, Off The Ball, Anticipation, Finishing, Composure. Flair, Creativity, and respectable passing. Not asking a lot :p

Other: I've looked at Shaqiri, Kakuta, Ruiz. I could probably settle for Shaqiri but his decisions are so low, and he'd run me around 15 mill USD. I'd love to spend half of that for an unfinished product. If I don't find someone, I am probably retraining Quintero, and playing him and Falque there.

Season: Summer 2012. Promoted to Premiership.

Club: Southampton

Budget: Somewhere around 5-6 million USD.

Looking for: CB that can pull his weight now, with potential to grow.

With: I need a defensive beast with enough ball skills to not be a risk. Decent pace and anticipation is a must. Homegrown status is a plus but not a requirement.

Other:I have a bid out for Ryan Bennett for the homegrown status, though not feeling too excited about it. Shawcross is off the table, as are the two greeks from the Bundesliga. Considering Boyata on loan, and eyeing Burdisso but his club rejected my inquiry so he might have to wait for a free transfer opportunity after I unsettle him. Kara is too expensive salary-wise and would run me more than half my transfer budget.

I just signed Fierro for £36m. Then I realised he's Mexican not Spanish so won't qualify as one of my 3 foreigners. AHHHHH!!

I already have Damiao, Romario and Alex Sandro.

More money than sense!

How about Iturbe for the wing? He'll probably come a bit over 8M USD, but will be worth every penny. Possible to get him on a season long loan instead, with the option to buy later.

For CB, if you want homegrown, there's Craig Dawson from West Brom, he'll be about 4-5M, I would guess (was £3.2M for me). Otherwise you could try the Serbian's, Cosic and Savic (not the city one).

Bennett has been really good for me in my Pompey save. I got him for just over £1mil in the summer of 2012. I've got him playing as a covering DC and he is doing the business. Hes also chipped in nicely with goals from set pieces.

Ayew is in the middle I would like a Bale ideally but rivals won't obviously! :( think this game restricts rival sales too much, like even if they are transfer listed

Di maria bid rejected for 30 (thought I would try) Gaitan Injured M.Bastos he is 28 not interested, I will try maybe Vargas but then again he is 27/28 or just keep looking!

You tried Wilfried? IF he's not gone to someone else of course, there's also Macheda? Scored 31 goals for me when I was Wolves, that was set as a poacher, but he did rip defences with his pace and skill. Also, Carlos Fierro, Erick Torres, to name a few.

EDIT: Forgot about Mbaye Niang, he's top quality for my Wolves side.

Perhaps Matias Cahais? I've seen him gone to adelante clubs before so you may be afford him if you're in the BBVA since you're in the 2nd season. Not sure about the wage tho.

Oh yea, perhaps Ignasi Miquel. Should be on a free in the 2nd season.

Could try developing Matthew Briggs? Seen him get good a few years down the line. If not then Bertrand from Chelsea? Might not loan him to a divisional/local rival.

Thanks guys. Looking for more experience than Robinson, Clyen and Digne because I have Riise already. Bridge is at Sunderland although that would have been good. Monzon looks good, just need to scout him. SRL, you mean Innocent Mdledle?

Budget: £12m

Looking for: Deep Lying Playmaker.

With: Good range of passing, able to create chances for others.

Other: Relatively young if possible, if not, no biggie.

Season: 1st

Loyalty Bonus: Not bothered.

Agent Fee: Not bothered.

I'd say Marco Veratti as well, I bought him my first season with my Wolves team too, virtually one of my first picks now. If he's gone to Napoli, try and buy him in the future, but in the meantime try Crisiteg from Inter. I bought him at the start of my second season for less than £1m and he might need games to build up, but will be a solid DLP or DM in the centeal mid or anchor man positions. Also he is taller and stronger than Veratti, so big more of a physical presence. If you can get him, maybe try Cristofari, I've heard he's good, have signed him but at the moment he's gone straight into teh reserves, trying to get him out on loan. There seem to be a fair few good Italian DLPs on my game, maybe just try scouting Italy?
