I'm waiting for a few data files to be updated to be compatible with the latest update, but for those who have already started using it, how is it - much improvement in the match engine?

Genuinely can't wait to get going now. Made a few data changes of my own - particularly in the Under-21 and Under-18 squads - but nothing of note.

I've not really noticed any changes to the DB. Rosicky is still rated as the player he used to be, not the player he is now. Really disappointing.

for anybody starting a new save, hernandez of man utd can be snapped up for 14.5m and Sturridge hands in a transfer request and gets listed for about 20m if you are looking for another striker

Had already signed hernandez when Sturridge handed in his transfer request so missed out

Would love to sign Sturridge - don't like him IRL - but he hasn't handed in a transfer request yet.. did you unsettle him at all? Been offering bids etc but Liverpool asking for £60 mil. No thanks.

Kevin Volland was my first choice but he chose Barca over me. Loving 14.3 so far - it just feels even better than the last patch!

If this is true about Sturridge.. it will be the first thing I look to edit out in the new update... I can't deal with unrealistic transfers of that degree lol

You can get them down to about 22m cash, plus 1.5m for 50 appearances. over 12 months and however many goals extra and he will ask for about 110k a week. He is a supporter of Arsenal Welshace ;)

I've somehow deleted my save so will be starting again :[ The only thing im certain of when starting as Arsenal is that once i've done my transfers you can request additional funds, 25m and to improve both trainning and youth facilities

not really relevant I know but hey I wanted to boast

Brilliant! I met Charlie George when I went on a tour of The Emirates, really sound guy. Tony Adams ruffled my hair as a kid when I asked him for his autograph too, remember it like it was yesterday :)

Arsenal Season 1 Review

So my first save as Arsenal since the patch and it has been relatively successful.

League:

ALeague_zpsd25e631f.jpg

Can't really complain the two sides above have better squads, so i have finished in the right position. Had a very sticky patch around October to December and was on the verge of the sack. I grovelled to the board and they gave me a month to sort it out. Will look to push on next season and mount a serious challenge.

Champions Leauge:

agroup_zps24a6da03.jpg

ako_zps5b3f251b.jpg

Again can't really complain, a great result against real madrid and a good effort against barca. Lost the fist leg at home to barca 3 -1 had a real go in the nou camp and came away with a 2 - 0 victory missing out on away goals.

League Cup:

alc_zps886fe8f6.jpg

FA Cup:

afa_zpsa0ce067b.jpg

A cup double to end the gunners trophy drought. The coc cup secured me a new contract after that doggy spell on the run up to christmas.

Very happy with the win over United in the FA Cup final.

My main starting 11 over the season.

str11_zps633b22b8.jpg

Highly temped in starting an Arsenal save on 14.3 (even though I'm a Manchester United fan). Arsenal always seem to under perform in my saves, and sell all their top players off, but I think it would be a good save, to bring some success back to the club, building a team around quality young players :)

Top work mate. Really looking forward to your end of season review. Would also love a recap of the tactics you used, sounds like you were pretty flexible, switching between one or two up top?

Cheers

Tactics change depending on many factors. In most cases I will play an attacking line up and like to have pace on the wings. In the last few matches Lewandwoski did enough to play so I started with two strikers and I wouldn't play Giroud up front on his own so he is paired with Ozil in behind.

I have always favoured two strikers but i have had to adapt to get Ozil into the team. Also the formation of 4-2-3-1 seems to have worked well.

FM14 ARSENAL SEASON 3 REVIEW

The perfect season. Five trophies and unbeaten in the league.

Story of the season

PRE SEASON

I made three major signings with Toure, Lacazette and Peruzzi replacing Barry, Vietto Schurrle and Cazrola.

Pre season went well with four clean sheets. We lost the Emirates Cup semi final to Milan on penalties though.

SQUAD

Squad looked mighty different from the previous season.

Valdes Zieler Gibbs Baines Peruzzi Sagna Vermaelen Balanta Mertersacker Kocielny Insigne Gomez Wilshere Toure Alonso Ramsey Ozil Lacazette Pilar Lewandowski Giroud Walcott

PREMIER LEAGUE

We brought up 100 points for the season winning it by 21. Five more than the previous season but with a lesser margin strangely from second place. We conceded just 7 goals at home although 24 away from home will be an area I’ll be looking to improve.

The season began in fine style with a 4-0 rout of Chelsea in the Community Shield

In the Champions League we opened with a goalless draw in the Nou Camp. After that we won every game in the group and progressed to the knockout stages. We drew 1-1 in Madrid against Atletico before beating them 3-0 at home. Marseille inflicted our only defeat of the season in the first leg. We beat PSG 3-2 in France to all but progress to the final where we faced another france side in Monaco. We trailed 2-0 but came back and won 3-2.

We were given a relatively kind Fa Cup draw eventually beating both Manchester Sides at Wembley.

The League Cup was a tough task. We surrendered a 3-1 lead to ber taken to Penalties by Liverpool but went through 6-5. We drew with Spurs at

White Hart Lane in the semi final but went through with a 2-0 win at home. It was Chelsea again in the final and we won 3-1.

REINFORMENTS

Sagna, Gibbs and Alonso will leave if I can find them a club.

I will buy a keeper for the short term. Possibly Ankinfeev as Madrid are unwilling to sell Casillas. Zieler isn't good neough to be number one and Genver still needs time to devolop. My main focus through will be bringing through players from the youth team to the first team.

For the moment though I will enjoy my holiday and watch Euro 2016!

@Mark. He started off incredibly well but has fallen away a little bit since then.. here's a screenie in case you're interested - notice that in the league he hasn't been spectacular but in Europe he's been great. I was thinking that starting him with Giroud wouldn't work as they're similar and both have PPM of 'Plays with back to goal' but it's been the best partnership out of what I have (Theo & Podolski other ST options)

Hello all, has anyone else noticed this change since the 14.3 patch.. for a lot more games now I have red writing on a white background for home games where it would normally be the usual white on red. It's only cosmetic and it doesn't bother me at all I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed.

This is probably a good example as red & white wouldn't clash with Cardiff's yellow & red.

Yes, your real kit is correct though - it is just the title bar and icon. I speculate that it is due to the presence of "red" in the RGB scale that makes up yellow. But it's my personal guess. Kit clashes were looked at pre-update. I don't know what precisely was or was not changed though.

Looking to get a player who will be effective as a halfback. Done a bunch of scouting but just in case I was missing someone. Ideally aiming for a bit of height too.

EDIT: Should clarify, needs to be someone pretty young, so can be Arteta's under study for a few years.

Is there anybody else that has got as far as the 2020/21 season? I took over as Arsenal boss in January 2019 and the AI had pretty much ruined the club by filling up the squad with players that were now the wrong side of 30 but all was not lost. I have improved the squad loads thanks to a number of signings and promoting some of the clubs younger players.

Reason I ask anyway is because Julio Pleguezuelo is simply fantastic on my save. He is now 4 stars CA in my team and can still improve by an extra 1/2 star. Since I arrived at the club he has made himself a 1st choice with his performances, scored and got MOTM in a CL final victory over Barcelona and is now also 1st choice for Spain. Dan Crowley and Gideon Zelalem also proved themselves to be good 1st team squad players though I lost the former because he wouldn't sign a new contract so I had to sell him. Serge Gnabry is another player that ends up top class but I only know that because I signed him for Brighton before my arrival and they sold him to AC Milan not long after I left.

Certainly plenty of talent to work with for anybody who has the time and patience to get this far.

Getting the best out of a player, managing a player etc is relevant - data changes is not. Besides, once again - if you have seen the listed changes why have you asked someone else to post them? Which was my original point. Any problems with my moderating or posts there is a report button and it will be reviewed independently. Otherwise lets not derail this thread anymore.

For the record - no significant changes to data, small tweak to Ramsey (finishing, composure, decisions), Giroud (team work, work rate), Mertesacker (Decisions), a few have had increased consistency under the hood. Nothing major at all.
