Wow at Cartagena in Liga BBVA and wow at the Inter-Forest game.Nice draw you have in the CL and hope you can secure 2nd in the league in the next couple of months.

Scarman - They start in Liga Adelante so they are doing petty well in the top half!

That's an incredible result, hows Inter even doing? :D

What league did Cartagena start in, I don't recognise the name.

Inter are currently top of Serie A by 7pts with 4 games to go :p.

Cartgena were first promoted to La Liga in 2013/14. They stayed for three seasons before being relegated, but bounced back at the first attempt. They went on to spend the next 10 seasons in La Liga before being relegated again. After a 2yr absence, they were promoted at the end of last seasom.

Crazy result, would love to see that in real life :D

Otherwise your doing great in the league, the title looks a step too far but champions league qualification is important for next year.

Cheers fella. I agree that the league has just been to much for us this season, but we have still been fantastic which just shows how strong Barca have been.

NF joins the big boys!

This is their 4th season in a row in the Premiership and although it looks like they will be relegated, their previous seasons have all been good showings. They finished 6th last season which is why they're in Europe.

SRL88's Career - April 2031 - Atletico Madrid

Liga BBVA

CAtlticoMadridSADFixtures_Fixtures-9.png

LIGABBVAOverview_Stages-7.png

Well our title hopes for this season are over. We started April with a brilliant 1-0 win away to Villarreal, made even more brilliant due to the fact that we played 80 minutes with 10 men. A very nice win at home to Betis was followed by a trip to the Nou Camp. Despite our best efforts we were beaten by the soon to be La Liga Champions 2-1. Despite the defeat however, we didnt let is affect us as we destroyed Hercules 6-0 before the result of the season for us as we beat our biggest rivals Real Madrid 4-1, with Predrag Cosic the star of the show.

Champions League Quater-Final and Semi-Final 1st Leg

CAtlticoMadridSADFixtures_Fixtures-3-5.png

Well, well, well. What a great European campaign this is turning out to be. We comfortably beat Fiorentina 2-0 at home before an excellent, disciplined away performance in Italy saw us through to the Semi-Final where we drew Man City. In what was without a doubt our best away performance of the season we have managed to give ourselves a massive advantage going into the second leg with a brilliant 2-1 win.

The other tie see's Barcelona hold a 2-1 lead over Palermo, with the return leg in Italy still to come.

Good luck in the final, hopefully you can take the shine off their league win!
Good luck in the final.

Cheers lads .

I am really confident going into both Final's which we have coming up.

Final

Road to Madrid

Real Madrid

RealMadridCFFixtures_Fixtures.png

A very good run for Real Madrid to the Final. The stand out tie was definitely the win against Barcelona, but they also boast impressive wins over surprise package Cartagena and another La Liga club Gimnastic.

At.Madrid

CAtlticoMadridSADFixtures_Fixtures-2-9.png

I am really pleased with how we got ourselves into the Final. We got through to the Semi-Final pretty comfortably. We made the win over Malaga a little harder than it should have been but it was still an impressive showing over the two legs.

RMadridvAtMadridInformation_Overview.png

Summary

Sadly for us, we didnt show up in the Final in all honesty. Real were much quicker out the blocks and it took for them to score a second goal before we finally pulled our fingers out our arses. We pulled one back in the first half, and despite pressing in the second half we just werent good enough. Real killed us off on the counter with a third goal as they lift the Copa Del Rey.

Final

Route to the Final

Barcelona

fcbarcelonafixturesfixt.png

The holders of the competition, and newly crowned La Liga Champions had a pretty good run to the Final. They topped their group very easily, dropping points in just one game. They were drawn against Porto in the knockout stage, and despite defeat in Portugal, they comprehensively beat them at the Nou Camp. Liverpool were brushed aside in the Quater-Final before they were given a game against Palermo, but in the end their class showed as Barca booked their place in Lisbon.

At.Madrid

catlticomadridsadfixtur.png

Well we made harder work of the group stage than I would have hoped. Despite just one defeat away to Palermo, we struggled throughout. We had to rely on 1-0 wins on a few of ocassions and were really made to work hard in Belgium against Leuven. A draw against Palermo in our final game ensured that we finished second in the group but luck was on our side in the draw. We drew Marseille in the First Knockout Round and the first leg was decisive. An excellent performance gave us a brilliant 4-0 result which put the game to bed in the 1st leg. It was similar news in the Quater-Final. A 2-0 win at home made things easy away from home. In the Semi-Final we put in two brilliant performances against Man City to ensure that we would meet Barcelona in the Final.

Summary

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A brilliant display in Lisbon gives the club its first Champions League trophy in its 128 year history. We took a pretty early lead and went to a defensive tactic. We held out for much of the game but Barca finally scored mid-way through the second half. Nothing changed despite both sides having chances, but in the last minute of extra-time, January signing Georges Corea who has struggled with injuries since his arrival popped up with a brilliant goal to ensure that the Champions League trophy will come back to Madrid.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Brilliant victory against Barca and what a way to win it with a last minute goal :applause:
Well done on a Champions League title SRL88.
Great Champions League victory! And against Barcelona :)

Cheers lads :D.

This is one of the best wins of my career so far I must say. I have never gone as crazy over a goal scored on FM before in my life!!!! When I celebrated, my girlfriend looked at me, shoke her head as if to say 'what the f*ck'!!! haha.

SRL88's Career - May 2031 - Atletico Madrid

Liga BBVA

CAtlticoMadridSADFixtures_Fixtures-10.png

LIGABBVAOverview_Stages-9.png

A very good end to the season for us. I made numerous changes for the Getafe game in preperation for the Champions League Semi-Final against Man City a few days later. We were poor and looked destined for defeat at 2-0 down, but with 5 minutes remaining we pulled one back, only for us to go and grab a second with just seconds left on the clock to take great confidence from the game. We comfortably beat Malaga 2-0 before a trip to Valencia which saw us grab a fantastic win away from home. Our season concluded with a very nice win away to Cordoba.

Copa Del Rey Final

CAtlticoMadridSADFixtures_Fixtures-3-6.png

Such a disappointing way to end our run in the Copa Del Rey. Its not even the fact that we lost to Real Madrid, its that we didnt really show up. Real deserved to win and they did so pretty comprehensively. I cant complain.

Champions League Semi-Final 2nd Leg & Final

CAtlticoMadridSADFixtures_Fixtures-2-11.png

I have to say this is one of the greatest achievements in my career. We were 2-1 down at home to Man City with 8 minutes left and it looked like we would have to go to extra-time, but we grabbed the decisive goal which would take us through. As Man City looked for the goal which would have sent them through, we hit them on the counter and grabbed a third goal to book our place in Lisbon.

In the Final we took the lead early and put in a fantastic defensive display to nulify Barcelona's attacking options. They scored mid-way through the second half. Both teams continued to search for a goal but there was no seperating us. In the extra period, legs on both teams began to get tired as mistakes were made. The decisive moment came in the last minute as we grabbed the winning goal to lift At.Madrid's first Champions League trophy in their 128 year history.

SRL88's Career - Season Review - 2030/31 - Atletico Madrid

Liga BBVA - Results 1 - Results 2 (2nd - Runners-Up)

An absolutely excellent season in all honesty, but there was just no catching Barcelona. Just two defeats over the course of the season is the mark of an excellent season. In the first half of the season the players struggled somewhat to get used to my tactics but from January onwards we are absolutely fantastic. Our only defeats came away to Barcelona and Real Madrid and what cost us the title was to many draws. We did however finish a massive 11pts ahead of Real Madrid.

Copa Del Rey (Runners-Up)

A very good to the Final for us, but when there we just didnt show up. Real were the better team and deserved their 3-1 win.

Spanish Super Cup (Winners)

Two brilliant performances against Barcelona which saw us get our season off to a flying start.

Champions League (Winners)

A truely remarkable season in Europe as the club have lifted their first Champions League trophy ever. We struggled in the group to be honest and the results showed. There was to many 1-0 wins which showed that we struggled in my earlier times at the club. We did manage to get through the group in second place. This drew us against Marseille who we dispatched with ease, mainly thanks to a 4-0 win at home. This was a similar case against Fiorentina. We done all the hard work at home, which meant all we had to do was sit tight in the second leg. The Semi-Final threw up a tough tie against Man City, but in both legs we were on our A game. In England we pulled off a fantastic 2-1 win. We won the return leg as well to set up a tie against Barcelona in the Final. Once again we were brilliant against the odds and a last minute goal in extra-time gave us a brilliant 2-1 win.

Transfers - Finances

Once again I splash the cash when it was needed. I really strengthened the squad throughout and I feel that was probably the main reason why we had such a good season.

The finances are looking very healthy indeed. We are barely losing any money at all on a monthly basis which has allowed us to make a massive profit this season.

Squad

A very strong squad. There are a few ageing players which need replacing, but I am not sure if that will be this season or next season.

My Top 3 Players

Alejandro Saavedra - I signed him for Galatasaray, and when I left I brought him with me to Madrid. One of my better decisions. Very solid at the back and brilliant going forward. Well worth the money.

Mohammed Gaad - I said in my pre-season update that I was delighted with this signing and I think this screenshot proves it. Definitely my best signing of the season.

Predrag Cosic - A brilliant season on loan. He will go back to Liverpool full of confidence and I really hope he shines there.

Oh . Just seen the post. SRL, why aren't you feeding Forest with some of your Spanish dross :(. You disappoint me.

I did send them a player on loan....but there arent any real amazing players for me to send them. I will be taking advantage of the fact that they are my feeder club next season though.

Please, please, please have a look at the FA Cup Winners for this season. I have even linked the Final for you all to see .

 I think somebody at SI must be a Newport County fan - over all of the long term saves that I've seen posted on these forums, NC always end up doing well!

Which division are they in?

Great thread, enjoying this. :)

Cheers. Im really glad you like it. Always nice to have someone new reading.

At least you won the important final.

Of course. It is the one that mattered!!!!

I actually couldnt believe it. They are a mid-table Championship club now and have been for a few years. Brighton have just completed their first ever season in the Premier League, also finishing mid-table.

Been away from the forums for awhile and just caught up, good season in Turkey and AMAZING first season in Spain keep it up.

Cheers fella. Really glad with how my first season went as we now have something fantastic to build on.

Excellent achievement winning the CL- such a dramatic way to do it too! :D

Shame Barca was so dominant in the league- 94 points would normally easily guarantee you the title.

Cheers AK. There was just no beating Barca this season, and as you say, anywhere else I would have walked the league. At least I know my challenge now.

That's crazy about Newport County! Aren't they a BSP side in real life?

Yeah they are a BSP side. I honestly cant believe that they were in the Final, but their run to Wembley wasnt exactly tough.

Great stuff dude. :brock:

How many European Cups have you lifted in your career now?

Cheers Tom .

That was my third Champions League trophy of my career. I would like to think that I can achieve number 4 and possibly 5 whilst still at Atletico.

3 Champions League titles makes you one of the best managers ever :thup. Great bstuff mate.

As an aside, Newport County winning the cup is brilliant haha :)

Alos, thanks for posting the league winners and major cups throughout your save - I genuinely love reading them.

By the way, Valenciennes winning the French league in the first year of the save, is astonishing. What have they done since?

Great Champions League win, just when it seemed set to be a season of 'nearly but not quite' as well

Best of luck with overhauling Barca in the league next season :)

Yeah it all nearly went tits up didnt it. I would have settled for any trophy to be honest, but I am delighted to have lifted the European Cup.

Cheers Daz. Really glad you like it. I think putting the title results in etc is good just so you can keep an eye on how everyone is doing.

As for Valenciennes. I honestly was as shocked to see them win Ligue 1 as I was to see Newport win the FA Cup. They havent done anything since lifting the title at all. They have a few mid-table finishes and have flirted with relegation more often than not.

Knocked Barca over in the Champions League, now just to do that in the league! Awesome season all up

I agree. The league is now where we need to do it!!!

If you can do it in the CL, the league will soon follow.

The league is my main priority next season I must say.

Wouldnt be surprised to see you win the treble at least next season :p

No pressure then  ha.

Excellent first season and big congrats on getting one over Barcelona in the CL Final.

Hopefully you can get the League and Copa del Rey won in the near future :D

Congrats on winning CL :D :D
Good season winning the CL, time to win the League now.

Cheers lads .
