  1. Saint David's Cricket Club Warriors - Corona League - End of Season - 2051/52 Season Review Transfers - Released One player retired, eight players released, nine players moved to other clubs, one player joined on loan and eleven joined from other clubs. This was a really busy season for transfers and I am ever so thankful that I am no longer the one dealing with them as it looked annoying, the Dof seems to have done a good job for building a team expected to compete around the top. Schedule 1 - Schedule 2 Competitions Bermuda First Division - Winners We ended up winning the league by fifteen points which seems to be a lot but it doesn't reflect the true story which was it was close up until February before we turned on the style in March. We set new records for points and goals which shows how good we were in attack as our defence was average at best.Highlight of this league campaign was beating Flanagan's Onions 7-2.I was also glad to finish above Wolves who signed four first team players from us. Bermudan FA Cup - Quarter-Finals We beat St.George's Colts (6-1 on aggregate) and Paget Lions (2-0 on aggregate) en-route to the quarter finals. We were drawn against Robin Hood which was one of the two worse draws we could have got (North Village Rams being the other),late goals in both games were enough to sink us as we ended up losing 5-4 on aggregate,we gave them a battle but fell short in the end.Robin Hood would go on to win the Competition a sixth successive time. Players,Stats and Awards Overall Best XI Stats - Awards - Best XI Taurean Warren Amar Smith Chris Rebello Granville Outerbridge Manager's Thoughts Well done to the players who helped us get promoted from the first division which means we surpassed the board's expectations as well as beat the media predictions for this season. This is the first time since 2041/42 that one of Robin Hood B or NVCC Rams have failed to finish in top three as Flanagan's Onions and Wolves showed they can be a dangerous side to face.Even with all the changes to the team throughout the season,I am glad we pulled through as it is tough on me and the DoF to get a team sorted due to constantly bringing in and losing players. We have £15.5k left in the bank, this isn't too good as it means we can only offer so much on a non-contract and that we are not bringing in too much so that is a worry. Aims for pre-season include laughing and cursing at the DoF who will be responsible for building our team in our quest to survive next season, remarkably we have to face two professional sides in the top flight which is a surprise as there is no money in Bermuda.I will be keeping five players from last season intake in the first team as they have a lot to offer,I may have to look at bringing up the 2* CA players as they may be able to offer something to the team in the short term future but this is all dependant on who the DoF brings in.I know this could be the point where we hit a wall but I have faith the DoF will pull through or one of the bigger sides offer me an interview and a job! 2. May 2052 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We won both games as we set a new points total. The first game was an entertaining match while the match against YMSC Bluebirds was really dull affair which the opposition were there in body but not in spirit as it might of well have been a training affair. This has been the first time since 2041/42 that one of Robin Hood B or NVCC Rams haven't been in the top three. Also last thing to note, how the hell did we lose to Tuff Dogs this season! End of Season update to follow then onto the top flight we go where I will be laughing at and cursing the DoF with regards to transfers!
  3. April 2052 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts Top flight football here we come!!!We've won the title after picking up eight points from twelve. It was Jahi Smith's goals in the first two games which helped us secure the title,Smith came through our most recent youth intake and plays really well as a poacher. As for the draws, all I feel is frustration as we blew a 3-0 lead against Wolves and we failed to take our chances against Flanagan's Onions which means we can no longer go for the record of most wins. We play our two remaining games in May as we face Hamilton Parish and YMSC Bluebirds,I want to end on a high and win both games but we will have to be careful as YMSC Bluebirds actually beat Wolves 5-1 in April! If we can win both games then we will set a new record for points which is my aim.
  4. March 2052 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts This was a really good month as we won every game, four of these were very close and one not so close. The Robin Hood B game was the one I was expecting to drop points in but things went crazy after 5 minutes when Robin Hood B went down to ten men, they would go on to have another player sent off in what was a comfortable game.We now sit eleven points clear at the top with six games left to play so destiny is now firmly in our hands.Only thing to note is that I signed a new contract at the end of the month as it was expiring in June. Four games in April as we face St.George's Colts,NVCC Rams,Wolves and Flanagan's Onions. We could be promoted this month but we have games against second and third so it is a very tough month as they are the two teams closest to us as Robin Hood B's form has fallen in the last couple of months and are way off the pace at the moment. My aim is at least six points as that should pretty much secure the league by the end of the month.
  5. February 2052 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts It was a tough month both on the pitch and off the pitch. On the pitch we took five points from twelve which isn't a great return,we're three points ahead of Robin Hood B and more importantly six points ahead of Flanagan's Onions after we beat them 7-2.Off the pitch,we lost Chris Pitt (2nd choice GK) and Eugene De Rosa (1st choice DR) to other clubs,we managed to bring on Eugene Bean as a 2nd choice GK.Can't wait for youth candidate day as the opposition can't sign them on frees! Five games in March which sees us face Hamilton Parish,YMSC Bluebirds,Robin Hood B,Tuff Dogs and X Roads. The team needs to step up it's performances on the pitch as this is becoming a real struggle and it's too close at the top for my liking.Need to be aiming for twelve points from fifteen as we need to stay ahead of Flanagan's Onions,we can't even rule out Wolves as they are the inform team and they are only ten points behind with eleven games,it's going to be close run for the rest of the season.
  6. January 2052 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We kicked off 2052 with ten points from four games, this has seen us move four points clear of Flanagan's Onions but unfortunately we still have fifteen games to go so there could be plenty of twist and turns in the rest of the season. In transfer news, the DoF bought in an AMR on loan from Somerset Trojans after we lost Aljame Butterfield (1st choice AMR) and Triston Flemming (1st choice AML) which is a bit of a blow but one I think we can handle. Four more games in February as we face X Roads,NVCC Rams,Wolves and Flanagan's Onions. We're in a position where we can afford one slip up but I'd rather beat Flanagan's Onions and get seven from the other three games as that should leave us in a very good position going into March.Other than the Onions, the other teams are mid-table sides who are off the pace so I know if we play to our best then we can win these games.
  7. Thanks Onions are a bit troublesome, hopefully there won't be any tears in my eyes!
  8. December 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts It wasn't too bad of a month as we picked up ten points from fifteen which saw us stay top of the table as we sit one point clear of Flanagan's Onions and three points ahead of Robin Hood,we were lucky to get to that point without dropping points as Wolves missed a penalty in the 91st minute. As for the cup,we gave it a go but we fell short as we lost 5-4 on aggregate to Robin Hood,I thought i was going to go into extra time but they scored an equalizer in the 89th minute. Four games in January as we face Hamilton Parish,Tuff Dogs,Robin Hood B and St.George's Colts.I think the aim of the month is to equal or better Flanagan's Onions results as they are our nearest promotion rivals, not as bothered about Robin Hood B as they can't get promoted even if they win the title. My aim for the month is a minimum of nine points.
  9. November 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We won all four games this month as we moved to the top of the table on goal difference. At the moment,it's a three horse race for the title and a two horse race between ourselves and Flanagan's Onions for promotion. In the end,we were lucky to win all four games as we blew a 5-1 lead against Robin Hood B but sometimes we need luck to hold on and I think luck could play a major part in the latter part off the season. December is a busy month with seven games to play, five of these are in the league and two are in the cup.In league we play NVCC Rams,St.George's Colts,Wolves,Flanagan's Onions and YMSC Bluebirds.Even though it's still early in the season,I'm declaring the Flanagan's Onions a must win game as I want some sort of gap between ourselves and them.As long as I'm still in the fight for the promotion spot then I will be fine.As for the two cup games,we've been drawn against Robin Hood in the quarter-finals,I have very little hope for the games as they are the biggest team in Bermuda,as long as the score isn't embarrassing then I will be fine with it.
  10. October 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts It was an impressive month all around as we won three and drew one in October. We won both games in the league as we moved up to second place,we're just ahead of Robin Hood B on goal difference but we are still behind Flanagan's Onions despite beating them 3-1.We progressed to the quarter-finals in the Bermudan Cup as we beat Paget Lions 2-0 on aggregate, glad we won but I was worried as we kept squandering chances which is rather annoying. Four league games in November,we will play YMSC Bluebirds,Tuff Dogs,Robin Hood B and X Roads.I want to keep our recent form up as I don't want to fall further behind Flanagan's Onions, the gap at the moment is two points but they do have a game in hand so that could be five, falling behind would be rather troublesome. My aims is nine points and a revenge win against Tuff Dogs, the game I am not expecting to do well in is the Robin Hood B game as they are a really good side so I am willing to write that match off.
  11. September 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts It was a pretty mixed month as we picked up ten points from fifteen but that did beat my expectations as I was aiming for nine.We are currently five points behind Flanagan's Onions but there is only three points between second and fifth so there is quite a big chasing pack.Only transfer made was another goalkeeper, this one comes in from Premier Division side Dandy Town Hornets,he made his debut in our 4-1 win against Wolves.Partnerships are slowly starting to be formed so we could get better in the future. Four games in October, two of these are league games and two are cup games. In the league we play Flanagan's Onions and Hamilton Parish,if we win both of these then we will turn the pressure up on Flanagan's Onions.Really don't want to lose to Flanagan's Onions this early as that will put us eight points behind them.In the cup we have a two legged affair against Paget Lions,we are a lot stronger than last season so I am fairly confident we can get through to the third round.
  12. August 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts Excellent start in the Bermudan FA Cup as we knocked out St.George's Colts 6-1 on aggregate. As for the league,it was a dismal start as we lost 2-1 Tuff Dogs,we were 1-0 up when we had a player sent off and they then went and scored two goals in quick succession as we started our league campaign with a loss.Positive news did come from a transfer, the DoF bought in a left back from Flanagan's Onions so I think we have a really good team for the season now. Five games in September which all come in the league. We will face Robin Hood B,X Roads,St.George's Colts,NVCC Rams and Wolves.I think we will be able to record our first points of the season during September but I am not entirely sure what to expect from Robin Hood B and NVCC Rams as it depends on their senior sides on who is made available from the first team so things may be difficult but they may not be as difficult as I expect. My aim for the month is a minimum of nine points.
  13. Saint David's Cricket Club Warriors - Corona League - Pre-Season - 2051/52 Season Preview - Competition Expectations Transfers - Released One player retired and seven players released as we trimmed some of the dead weight to make way for new and better signings. Our DoF made six signings and strengthened most of the team and even managed to address one of our weakest areas which was the right full back position.Still need a left back but we'll see what my DoF can pull off as he has managed to get some good first team players in who will feature heavily this season. Pre-Season Fixtures Not the greatest pre-seasons but it wasn't too bad,we did beat Paget Lions with ten men and also beat Premier Division side Southampton Rangers which was encouraging. We did lose to Devonshire Cougars and Robin Hood who are also top flight sides but we did score two against the biggest side in Bermuda, Squad and Key Players Manager's Thoughts Not been too bad of a pre-season as the DoF has made some good signings which should help us compete in the first division but I am quite worried as the board want a top half finish and the media have predicted us to come third this season.Weirdly enough, third could actually be good enough for a promotion due to Robin Hood and North Village Rams have B teams in this league so it will be an interesting season for certain, looking at the odds,we are one of four in the promotion fight and one of six in the title fight. We do have good depth in attack and we have improved the midfield including the DM position,we are still missing another left back but that is no longer up to me so hopefully the DoF will come through with that. We actually have a quiet start to the season with three games in August,we kick the season off with a two legged affair against St. George's Colts in the Bermudan FA Cup before we kick off our league campaign with a game against Tuff Dogs.First off,I love the name Tuff Dogs as that is a great team name,my main aim is progress in the cup as the board want us to reach the second round and I'm not too bothered by the league game as it;s a long season so I think we could afford a couple of bad games early on so I can find the right team for the season.
  14. Saint David's Cricket Club Warriors - Corona League - End of Season - 2050/51 Season Review Transfers - Released Three players released, one before I joined and two I released as they were moaning about first team football but were not good enough.Seven players left to join other clubs while the DoF and Assistant manager went over the top with signings as seventeen players joined the club. Schedule 1 - Schedule 2 Competitions Corona League - Winners We won the title in convincing fashion as we won it by twenty one points over Paget Lions. We were top for the majority of the season as there were only three games where we were not top of the league.Set new records for points and goals in what turned out to be a very successful season. Bermudan FA Cup - 2nd Round Well I was surprised to get to the second round to begin with as we knocked out Somerset Eagles in the first round with a 4-3 aggregate victory. As for the second round,we gave BAA Wanderers a fight but their superior quality eventually overcame us as we lost 4-3 on aggregate. Players,Stats and Awards Overall Best XI Stats - Awards - Best XI Jonathan Jennings Amar Smith Pinto Lambert Chris Baptista Manager's Thoughts To be fair,we were favourites to go up so I am not overly surprised we did so although things were pretty hectic at the start of the season but we got things together and went on a really great run which saw us win the title by a whopping twenty one points. It was a very interesting season with regards to transfers as I have nothing to do with it anymore so it was interesting to see the type of players the DoF (first team) and Assistant Managers (hot prospects) bought into the club. Not too bothered by going out in the cup at the second round as I wasn't even expecting to make it past the first round. We were eventually given a new contract and by eventually I mean at the start of May when my contract was up in June. As for the future of the club,we are in a poor position financially so there won't be any upgrades unless I can find amazing free players and the sell them for actual money. We will be getting a new sponsorship deal in June and hopefully it will be enough to put us back into the black as we are nearly £5k in the red. We'll still be at St.David's Warriors for the foreseeable future as there isn't much difference between the Corona League and First Division as they are both rated at 0.5*,hopefully though we will be able to attract better players as I really need our DoF to invest a bit more heavily in defence, especially in the fullback positions as they are very weak and the backups for those positions are even more pitiful. At least pre-season will be quick and painless for me! 15. May 2051 Fixture League Table Manager's Thoughts Well we won the game,I wanted a nice thrilling game to finish on a high and what we got was a boring 1-0 win as we couldn't finish our chances and Ireland Rangers were not even interested in the game and managed two whole shots. End of Season update to come then we move onto the first division in which I will both laugh and curse my Director of Football as he will be dealing with transfers!
  16. April 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We won two out of three which was a good return as we finished the moth nineteen points clear with one game left. This month has had one of my favourite matches I've had in North America,it's not often you see a 7-4 result! As for the defeat against Paget Lions,we were actually the better team this time around so the defeat was annoying as it wasn't deserved. Just the one game in May as we finish our league campaign off against Ireland Rangers. As it's our last game,I would love us to finish on a high and get the win but I would like to see it be another thrilling match like last month.
  17. March 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We're going up,first division here we come!!!We won both games in March,I was expecting to get the promotion against Paget Lions but we managed to win the title against Vasco Volcanoes as Paget Lions dropped points against Ireland Rangers.Never realised that we had a rivalry against Vasco Volcanoes but it is a competitive one so to win 6-0 against them was a brilliant result. As for the transfers,we let two players go and we bought in a goalkeeper coach and a fitness coach. Three games in April which sees us play Ireland Rangers,Vasco Volcanoes and Paget Lions. The season is now done for us as we've won the title and we're going up so I want to finish the season on a high so I want to go unbeaten for the remainder of the season.
  18. February 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We won both games in February as we moved fourteen points clear with six games to play.Ireland Rangers were a lot more difficult to break down than in previous encounters so it looks like the new manager is more defensive minded while Paget Lions match was lot more one sided than anticipated. We're just two games away from promotion if we win them both so the only way we won't get promoted is if we lose every single game which I don't think is possible as Vasco Volcanoes are terrible. Two games in March which sees us play Vasco Volcanoes and Paget Lions. The key match will be the Paget Lions game as if we win that then we will win the title so all eyes are on that match while Vasco Volcanoes have lost every single game against us this season so hopefully that will continue. My aim for the month is to win the title.
  19. January 2051 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts Two wins from two helped us stay eleven points clear at the top and we now only have eight games left to play this season. At the moment,we are in a very good position as we have no suspensions (three players one card away from a ban) and we are injury free for the first time since August so we do have a full strength team going into our next game.Only one transfer made,we signed a 31 year old player who plays on both flanks just to give us a bit of depth in the attacking department. Two games in February as we face Paget Lion and Ireland Rangers.Things could be a bit tricky as Paget Lion are quite annoying team to break down while Ireland Rangers have just had a new manager so things could change tactically to what we are normally use to.My aim is to get four points as that will keep us in a strong position.
  20. December 2050 Fixture League Table Manager's Thoughts Wow,we actually lost a game for the first time since October! No complaints from the loss either as we were reduced to ten men and they took advantage of it,in the end they deserved the win. We're still eleven points clear with ten games so it is still in our favour, this was just a minor setback. Two games in January as we face Ireland Rangers and Vasco Volcanoes.Hopefully we can win both of these games to bounce back from the defeat against Paget Lions. We are nearly at the end of the season so it is important that we don't mess up too much as I want to keep the pressure off us in the last few games.
  21. I'm afraid he isn't in the game anymore, couldn't even find a mention of him in the Bermuda fixtures. My stay in Bermuda could be a bit longer than anticipated,Robin Hood (2044) and North Village Rams (2046) have actually gone Professional which is a surprise so unless I end up at one of them,my stay could be prolonged
  22. November 2050 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts We were busy with regards for transfers as the DoF bought in three players (two attackers and a backup keeper) while the Assistant Manager bought in three for the reserves (two midfielders and a right midfielder). In the league we picked up seven points from nine as we moved thirteen points clear with eleven games left to play so we are in a very strong position. There has been a miracle so far,one of my teams I have managed isn't in first for worst discipline! Just the one game in December which sees us face Paget Lions. Not a lot to say about this game as no matter what happens,we will be top of the league come the end of December.I would like to win as that would further increases our chances of winning the league, winning may be difficult as Paget have the second best defence in the league so they are hard to break down but I have faith in my attackers.
  23. November 2050 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts Surprisingly no signings from the DoF this month. We went out in the cup but that was to be expected but we gave BAA Wanderers a real fight as we went down 4-3 on aggregate as the opposition showed they just had that bit of extra quality, they were diverse team as I haven't seen that many nationalities in a team since my time in New Zealand! We picked up eight points from twelve which was surprisingly enough to move us ten points clear at the top of the table,I have no idea what is going on with the other three teams but I am glad I am out of that fight for now.Only sore point was the game against Ireland Rangers as we had a 3-0 lead and we ended up drawing 3-3. Just the three games in November as we face Paget Lions,Ireland Rangers and Vasco Volcanoes. No matter what happens,we will still be top come the end of the month but with players returning from injury and suspension we could find ourselves in a better position as we will be nearly at full strength. My only other hope is my DoF turns his attention to the fullback positions as we are really lacking in these areas,if he can get these positions then I will feel a whole lot better.
  24. September 2050 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts Just the one signing from our DoF as Zane Simmons comes in from Paget Lions, looks good but I am not overly sure how to use him as I haven't come across many players who area natural as a anchorman. As for the league,we picked up nine points from twelve as we moved to the top of the table and finished the month off with a four point advantage of Ireland Rangers.I did tweak our player roles in between the Paget Lion and Ireland rangers game, our DM position went from Deep Lying Playmaker to Anchorman while the AMR and AML positions went from Inside Forward to Winger in a support role. October is our busiest month of the season with six games to play. The big two games come in the Bermudan Cup when we face BAA Wanderers,I'm not expecting anything but I want to give them a fight at the very least. In the league we play Vasco Volcanoes twice,Ireland Rangers and Paget Lions, all I want us to do is carry on our form from the end of September. This is due to only having eighteen games left to play in the league so I want to get as many points as possible.
  25. August 2050 Fixtures League Table Manager's Thoughts First up,our Director of Football bought in Pinto Lambert,Daz Dill and Chris Pitt, these players seem to be good from the first impressions of the Assistant manager although my DoF has a success rate of 3 out of 11 so far!!As for results,I was really surprised we beat Somerset Eagles in the cup after losing the home leg and as for the league,it's early days but our dropped points comes down to missed chances. Four games in September as we play Ireland Rangers twice,Vasco Volcanoes and Paget Lions. My main aim is to beat Ireland Rangers as that will give us a boost in the title race as it is a low game league with only 24 games in a season.I would love to go unbeaten this month as it will give us some positive momentum going into the rest of the season but we will see what happens then work from there.
