Happy with that. Applied a -0.08V offset undervolt as well. Could fiddle around more to squeeze the last toothpaste out the tube but its stable, cool and quiet so why bother.

Looks like people do want to compare to last year so it goes a bit like this

Benchmark 1 = A

Benchmark 2 = New this year

Benchmark 3 = B

Benchmark 4 = D

Like i've mentioned before though the amount of fixtures is different so comparison doesn't really work unfortunately

Was just checking this and Benchmark 3 can't = B from last year.

Last year B was 182060 players and on default details this years 3 is 459070 players and on Full Detail.  So not matching :(

I was wondering why my B score from last year was a minute faster than this years 3 score

You are partially correct.  The detail level is the same but it has all players loaded.  (I'll amend my original post)

Not worth comparing anyway to be honest, the amount of games is entirely different.

What I wanted this year was 2 standard benchmarks and then 2 identical ones but with higher detail

Hello all, is there a different thread where we can discuss ways to improve speed etc?
eg suggestions on what to replace  etc

To be honest this is as good a place as any to discuss it.  What setup do you currently have?

Here's a few ways I use to get the most out of FM with your current hardware - https://www.the9llamas.com/technology/speeding-up-football-manager

Tests 3 & 4 have the biggest discrepancies between runs I’ve noticed during testing, from 30s to a couple of mins, especially for test 4. I seemed to have gotten best results with a fresh start of FM between tests as opposed to reloading a save between tests. Maybe coincidence due to small sampling size on my part as I ran each test multiple times.

What i mean is, if let's say i would replace the RAM from DDR4 to DDR5 would that make a reasonable difference?

Hey to every body 👊 Let's see what my new self build monster can do....🤔

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950x (cooled by 420 mm AIO from Arctic Liquid Freezer)

RAM: 32GB ,G-Skill 6000mhz/ CL30

GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce 3060Ti

Storage: 500GB, Samsung 980PRO NVMe M.2 SSD

Benchmark 1 = 36,5s 👌

Benchmark 2 = 1,07min 😁

Benchmark 3 = 5,07min 💪

Benchmark 4 = 9,46min 😱

For me? Absolutely amazing 😍

Yeah, if its just for FM then plough all your money into the best processor you can get.  Its where the largest gains are in general

Maybe i should sell my CPU then and upgrade it with a better one.

Also look at what you can upgrade to.

No point buying a new CPU and finding you also need a new Motherboard too. Which then could lead to needing new RAM

If your CPU is near the top line your Motherboard can run with, you might be looking at a greater cost

I'm thinking to replace the CPU with AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7GHz.

Should be no issues with the CPU swap there then and a decent jump in processing power.

You might not get full benefits from the new CPU though as B450 might limit some parts.  But the more expert PC people would be able to confirm or deny that.

I went from a Ryzen 5 3600 to Ryzen 7 5800X but had to upgrade my mobo from a B450 to X570 due to some PCIe lane limitations due to the number of SATA and nVme I was trying to run

I think so too, i dont do much with the pc.
Just the basic office work and occasional gaming.
The heaviest task is some video editing for my personal holiday videos with Da Vinci resolve.
If some  expert can verify this it would be great since i'm going to start an online save for 20 players next week and i would like to have the best cpu power. (8 leagues loaded)

I've replaced 1600AF to 5900x, huge gains. My mobo is b450 a-pro max and crucial ram and all I needed to do was to update bios.

As others have mentioned, its drop in but definitely make sure you have updated your BIOS. Easier to do on the current CPU unless you have BIOS FlashBack function on the board. The newest BIOS MSI have available for your board will be sure to support the 5900X.

Upgrading your board would offer some advantages. Better VRMs, PCIe improvements, more NVMe slots, probably more USB connections. You would be making full use of the graphics card you have because the board only has PCIe generation 3 and a 6700XT uses PCIe generation 4. Is that worth the cost and effort of a B550 board and the swap? No absolute answer on that, but like Bigpole says, the CPU alone will offer significant performance gains.

One other factor to consider...  the 5900X is a 142 watt CPU, which will run hotter than what you have. Make sure you have decent CPU cooling.

Yes, standard cooler is enough for 'normal' gaming and standard use of the computer. Any CPU-heavy games and programs will require better cooling (anything from arctic freezer 34 esports and above is good).
