Cookie147
What do you really want once you've been promoted to the top tier of your country? You want an English Premier League club to come in for your only goalkeeper. For £0. Obviously I said no, as I now have the ability to put my most important player under contract, but he's now livid. Don't fancy using a grey keeper in the Welsh Prem.
XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2023 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances The first thing I noticed after the promotion last season, was that the 2nd tier was not much better than the 3rd. And it showed as the season went on. We started quite well and stayed well out of the relegation zone. Even though we didn't always sparkle going forward we were really solid in the back. A lot of that was thanks to Hørður Midjord 22a, who is way too good for this league, and potentially the whole of the Faroe Islands! So going towards the latter part of the season we had a good chance of getting another promotion, but one of the biggest competitors were Royn, the team that got promoted with us last season. And that really shows the small difference between the two lower tiers in the Faroes. Before the final match we were in 2nd place and out final match was away to EB/Streymur. TB played away to NSÍ2, and Royn played home to B71. TB were 3 points ahead of us and Royn 2 points behind us. So a win would do it, and probably a draw also with our better goal difference. In the end we beat EB/Streymur after they had an early red card and we got in a goal shortly after, then controlled it. Royn also won, but couldn't catch us. The real surprise was that TB lost to B71, so we climbed above them thanks to our goal difference and we won the division. And got promoted to the top tier. Páll Mortensen (one of the OG's) had a great season as our playmaker and I've already mentioned Hørður Midjord 22a. One who didn't play as well as I had hoped is Pætur Lisberg 22b, who also have played for the Faroese U19 team a couple of times this season. I mean, he didn't play horrible, but I had expected more. We had another great youth intake this season. The fun thing is that we had a few players with different nationalities. I have no idea how a random Georgian player ended up here, but I'll take it. Also Faroese-Tanzanian is an amazing dual citizenship. The two who stand out though, are Andrias Joensen 23a, a really promising central midfielder with a professional personality, and Eiler Petersen 23b, a really interesting pressing forward. In the Løgmanssteypið we.... just didn't play and I have no idea why. The cup went on it's merry course, but without us this season.
Armeniar
S8 – Liga NOS (5th) – Taça de Portugal Placard (Semi final) – Taça da Liga CTT (3rd phase) - Squad (U23) - Transfers Transfers Very sad to announce the moment has finally come: Tito, our very last original player, has left the club. I love the fact that he’s been with us for 7 years, from playing in the third division to the Liga NOS. Nevertheless, he started losing importance as from the season we gained promotion to the first division. It was time for us to say goodbye, but his name goes into the history books. Our gay defender Gomes was also released, he played around 150 games for us. Luis Sanches & Cabral, two prospects I had high hopes for when they arrived, also got a free transfer. They disappointed and didn’t develop a single bit despite playing an awful lot of games. Finally, I decided to give our Dutch goalie Gomes another loan spell, this time in the Liga II Ledman at Casa Pia. Our best defender Sousa could make a move to Inter & Premier League side Leeds in July (highest offer 3,7 million), while Fortes - who recently got the media tag “wonderkid” and was chosen as African Promising POTY - received an offer from Arsenal, Sheffield, West Brom and Liverpool (highest offer 13,75 million). Sporting CP wanted Duarte and Baessa. The board didn’t consider any of those offers to be sufficient, so they all stayed. Apart from Fortes, who feels like he outgrew the club (I mean, I can’t blame him), they all even signed new deals in exchange for a considerable pay rise on deadline day. Inter came back for Sousa in the winter period, the board accepted an 5,5 million offer but I was able to protest against it so he stayed. Season review Finished 12th in our first season at the top tier, something I wanted to repeat this year. From my point of view, we were not in the position to aim for more… Boy, was I wrong. After keeping our starting players here despite all the interested clubs, I knew we were a more than capable side to compete with the other Liga NOS teams. Fernandes, kind of unexpectedly, grew into a very decent goalkeeper for this level, Sousa is our rock in defence, Fortes leads the team as our playmaker and more importantly: our legendary striker is back! Carvalho struggled to adapt last season, only scoring 8 goals all competitions together. This season he already reached that amount after only 10 league games. The best part is that his back up Garcia took quite a lot of Carvalho’s game time, as we only play with one striker, since he played that strong. He scored 13 goals, same amount as Carvalho in less appearances, making him top scorer. Garcia might actually be the illustration of how the whole group really delivered. We went in the winter break being 3rd in the Liga NOS, incredible. The team had a very difficult period in February where we didn’t manage to win any of our 5 games, but we recovered and stranded on the 5th place. Oh, and at the end, the Germans Benfica always win… 7th time in a row now. Reached the semi-finals in the Taça de Portugal Placard where we faced Braga. Lost both legs, so they got the honour to get beaten by Benfica in the final. In the Taça da Liga CTT we had another very unlucky group stage. There’s only one team that proceeds to the next round, we faced Benfica last year and Porto now so you know that one team won’t be us. FC Porto actually ended up winning the final against Benfica which means they don’t secure the quadruple for the third time in a row. Class of 2027 - Best prospects Dos Santos – Wasn’t involved in the first team much as we have a pretty strong base there with Fortes, Andrade and sub Almeida. He is however starting to develop, I should figure out how to use him more as I believe he has the talent to become a regular. Sporting CP tried to poach him. Graça – If it wasn’t for a couple of injuries, he would have had more game time coming from the bench. Baessa is untouchable for the moment, but Graça is an interesting sub and can grow into more than that. He should step up next season. Youth intake Youth recruitment was upgraded three times (!) compared to our previous intake, it’s on a “excellent” level now just as our junior coaching. Moreover, we finally found some money to improve our youth facilities which qualify as “adequate” afterwards. We also parted ways Danielson, who’s been our HOYD the past two years. He wasn’t too bad, but not that special either. His replacement should deliver much better work: model citizen Régis Le Bris! I had him on my shortlist as potential HOYD but he didn’t want that role at first. After a year at the club as our U19 manager, the Frenchman accepted the role given a huge pay rise. He’s earning far more than any other of our staff members, but his profile really suits the job… Youth intake preview already looked very promising. My expectations were extremely high given this, our new HOYD and the youth improvements. I can’t say lived up to this Spoiler No-one really stands out as a potential first team player. Signed Rosario, Fernandes, Alves, Andrade and Duarte. Fernandes looks like he could become a decent full back, but we already have Silva, Mendes and Andrade there. Alves and Andrade might prove worthy if we lose Sousa or Fortes. Next season Hope we can keep the squad together, although keeping Fortes here would be a miracle. There's 18 big European clubs willing to throw big money at him and he only has 2 year's contract left. If it's possible, I'd like to keep him atleast one more season. Some other players are wanted as well, but I feel like that shouldn't be an issue for now unless the board starts acting weird. Popular Post thomas_e
South Shields FC Season Summary 2039 - 2040 Back-to-back Premier League championships & Champions League winners CHALLENGE COMPLETED What a season! After getting knocked out by Bayern Munich in the first knock out leg last year I expected this to be one more season of valuable experience in the Champions League. The goal in the league was a top-4 finish, but obviously aiming for the title. We had quite a lot of injuries this season which made rotation a bit difficult, considering the terrible quality of our backup players. Our ball winning midfielder Stuart Hunt only got 5 starts in the Premier League this year due to injuries, which gave 21 year old Colin Dillon the chance to shine. His only experience was being on loan in the Championship, but he stepped up to the challenge and did great! James Farmer broke into the first team last year and I had high hopes for him this year. Wow, did he deliver! 27 goals in 36 Premier League games and a 7,27 rating! He really led the line and he is so dangerous in the box! Darren Graham has been a great player for us over the last 5 seasons. Creative, hard working and quick, he was moved to an inside forward role this year, operating on the left wing. 7 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League is great, but 10 goals and 4 assists in 12 Champions League games is magic. Champions League Golden Boot winner from the wing is truly amazing. But the player of the season is Bob Dolan in defense. His CB partner Ryan Hughes is probably the better defender (and the best paid player in the world) but Bob Dolan combines great defense with a fantastic offensive threat. A 7,47 rating is extremely good. The Premier League has four CL spots and already early on it was obvious that those four spots would stand between South Shields, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool. I think all six teams were top of the table at one point, but unlike the others we avoided a really bad run of form. We struggled badly against the top teams away, but at home we were really solid. We had great attacking chemistry and were deadly on set pieces. Even though we only won the league with one point I was confident over the last 5 games that we would get the job done and we rotated quite a bit when we entered the latter stages of the Champions League. Our goalkeeper and all four defenders ended up making the Premier League Dream Team. In the Champions League we drew FC Porto, Lyon and Schalke 04. We finished on a solid 16 points and that included a 0-0 draw at home to Porto which we should have won easily! The first knock out round saw us face AC Milan. A tough draw, but we could have faced Juventus or Barcelona, so I guess it wasn't too bad. 0-0 away and a solid 2-0 win saw us through to the next round. The next opponent was PSG. A truly fantastic team with no real weaknesses. The first game was away in France, and we started great! We scored twice within the first 20 minutes and all of a sudden we were looking at a major upset. PSG turned the game around and ended up winning 3-2 but it was still a great performance. As was the case in the game against AC Milan we won 2-0 at home after goals from Bob Dolan and James Farmer. We faced FC Bayern in the semi final, with the first game at home. As against PSG we started great with goals in the 9th and 15th minute. We ended up winning 3-0 and that was enough to see us through, even with a 2-0 loss in Germany. We faced Valencia in the final which was quite an unexpected opponent. We were slight favorites going into the game, but the first 30 minutes were dominated by Valencia. We were lucky to take the lead in the 34th minute, and 1-0 was the score at half time. The second half was an even affair, but when Bob Dolan scored 2-0 in the 69th minute the game was over! We could raise the Champions League trophy and with back-to-back PL trophies that is the challenge completed for me!!! A fantastic journey, but I was extremely surprised that we won the CL so quickly! A little bit of luck for sure! Are you relieved that the challenge os completed, or do you want to go on with South Shields even longer? I know, I have missed out on many potential funny references there! When you say all time stats, are you referring to historical stats, like most capped players, all time goalscorers etc? Over the last few years the Challenge-section has been what motivates me with playing FM. Of course I love playing the game itself for what it is, but I love the fact that the challenges are really hard and we are all cheering each other on. And so many people here write really good, funny and interesting updates (i'm not one of them). But when I complete a challenge I am done with the save! I completed this challenge on FM19 as well, with Real Jean FC in Spain. When I won the CL with them I quit the save straight away and thats what I think I will do this time as well. I want to try the challenge again, but in another country. Going all the way from Vanarama S/N to the Premier League is a big task and it takes such a long time. I've been thinking of trying the challenge in Holland, Belgium, France or Portugal. Any suggestions?

XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2024 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances The Effodeildin, finally I've reach it! Now I just have to try to pronounce it! Effo-deil-din? No clue, but it's close to how I say it in my head. The leagues are pretty close here in the Faroes though, so I had hopes for survival. And we started really good, winning the first two matches, but then I faced some of the better teams and lost the next 4. Even with only 6 matches, that's still a third into the season... So we battled and we survived! TB, the team who got promoted alongside us actually finished as high as 4th, but I'll take a 7th in our i first season here. A few more seasons in and I think we can fight higher up the table in the future. Páll Mortensen, our playmaker, had another good season, the same had Andrias Joensen 23a along him in midfield, and to be fair, he is way too good for this. Hørður Midjord 22a had another good season as the main defender as well. The youth intake this season was not as good as the last ones, but still pretty good. Dane Kenneth Sørensen 24a looks like a really nice wide player, and Alisher G'ofurov 24b has the best dual citizenship I've ever heard of, Faroese-Uzbek! In the Løgmanssteypið we beat TB, KÍ Klaksvík and Argja Bóltfelag to reach the final. Here we faced league winners NSÍ Runavik. In a surprisingly even game they scored first, but we got the equalizer just before half time. No one could get a goal in the 2nd half so it went to extra time. Then after 110 minutes Eiler Petersen 23b leaped salmon-like and headed the cross from full back Pól Hansen 22m and slotted it into the net. Then we held on for the rest of the match to claim our first cup title! And we are heading into Europe next season as well!
Cookie147
SEASON 10 - 2029/30 JD CYMRU PREMIER - 5th Position A superb debut season in the top flight of Welsh football where we comfortably finished in the top half, qualifying for the Euro play-off spots, and despite beating Haverfordwest in the semi final, we lost to Airbus UK in the final, missing out on a dream first season in this division. However, the team is constantly improving and the future is bright. We also reached the semi final of both cup competitions, meeting all criteria set by my the Chairman. This guy nearly sacked me two seasons ago, but now he loves me, but the feelings are not quite mutual as he sold my best midfielder for a whopping £15k! Finances are also improving, with all the success. Still in the red, but getting better all the time. LEAGUE TABLE: PLAYER OF THE SEASON: Once we managed to hold on to star defender, Luke Vaughan-Evans (YP07A) he was always going to win this award. Seriously, he's too good for us, but I wont tell him that. YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON: Luke won this award too, but was pushed all the way by Dillon Marriott (YP07K), who was brilliant in his first season in the first XI. YOUTH INTAKE: Nothing special, but my favourite two are Kyle Andrews (YP10A) and Dion Barry (YP10C). IMPROVEMENTS: Finally, something to update in this section. Junior Coaching (now excellent) and youth recruitment all received an upgrade. TRANSFERS: PROGRESS: Finally... Man City are nicking my players, and I got offered the WALES job....!!

Makoto Nakamura
Fortuna Brest 2024 End of Season Review Not a great intake. No league win this time but we have a 4th promotion! XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2025 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances Another season in the Effodeildin flew away and this time we were part of a group much higher up the table. The defence is really starting to come together, as evident by us only conceding 12 goals this season. We do score a lot, but we are lacking goals from my main striker, Eiler Petersen 23b, who scored a whooping 4 goals in total this season... Still, as long as we keep improving I don't care who scores. In the end we finished in a very good 3rd place and qualified for Europe once again next season. Pætur Lisberg 22b had a really good season on the left wing with both goals and assists. Gunnar Poulsen 20d keep doing well as our watch dog in midfield, and Janus Olsen 23j was the standout in our defence this season. Now that I've managed to improve the academy coaching a bit we got an even better youth intake! Both Brandur Thomsen 25a and Gunnar Joensen 25b looks like really talented players. In the Løgmanssteypið we beat Víkingur Gøta and ÍF Fuglafjarður before losing to KÍ Klaksvík in the semi final. In the Europa Conference League we drew Belorussian side in the 1st qualifying round and lost 4-1 in Belarus while visiting a familiar manager. At home we managed a 1-1 draw, but we still got knocked out of Europe.
grff
NK Zadar: 2077/78 season review Back to back league titles as we continue to try and keep charge in Croatia. Our CL journey ended in the first knockouts once again, making it almost ten years since we last made the Q/F. Goals and assists were evenly spread across the squad. Youth intake. Transfers.
XaW
We had a takeover by a consortium who pumped money into the club! Yeah, that's a whooping 12 grand the Faroese based consortium pumped in... yeah, that'll "make a difference"... They added £250k to the transfer budget though... They did approve of an improvement to the youth facilities though!
Makoto Nakamura
Fortuna Brest - 2025 End of Season Review We start off with another poor intake but we have now improved our junior coaching. September ruined it for us. XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2026 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances We are starting to establish ourselves as a decent team in the Faroes now, and we finished in 3rd again this season. There were no keeping up with KÍ Klaksvík this season as they just blew everyone away and ran of with the title early. We did have a long fight with TB though, but unfortunately, they got the better of us, even with our good end to the season. The main problems is still getting goals from my striker, Eiler Petersen 23b. I don't have any reasonable replacements either, so I'm kind of stuck using him for now. Lucikly, Andrias Joensen 23a made up for a lot of those missing goals from his midfield role. The youth intake this season was pretty good, and it's actually good to see that not everyone is rated 5 stars, since it means the squad is getting better. The best one is fellow Norwegian Kjartan Oen 26g, a good winger. However, I'm thinking about converting him to a full back, since I REALLY need one... In the Løgmanssteypið we beat Royn and NSÍ Runavík before losing to Havnar Bóltfelag in the semi final. In the Europa Conference League we started in the 1st qualifying round were we beat Jeunesse d'Esch of Luxembourg. Then we lost to Norwegian outfit Molde in the 2nd qualifying round. A good effort from the team.

Armeniar
Sad, but I knew this moment was going to come. Fortes just left for the Africa Cup along with 9 others and Liverpool made this offer. I can't even be mad at the board, 37,5 million is insane knowning he's the very first player we actually sell for money. The (only) good part about this deal is that we should get some money for our youth facilities now, maybe we should rename it the Fortes Academy Goodbye, golden boy. We had a great first half of the season, especially in Europe, but I feel like losing him will really hurt our perfomances. And we'll miss 9 others for at least 1 month as well due to the Africa Cup...
Makoto Nakamura
Fortuna Brest - 2027 End of Season Review A great intake but we really don't need any more AMC's. A terrible season where we only finished three points above the drop but yet we came so close to getting promoted, and in fact the team that did get promoted finished 4th in their group. Overall Best XI 2027 Best XI Igor Pavlov (YP1p) Evgeniy Prokopyuk (YP2m) - Kirill Tchizh (YP4j) - Sergey Shreytor (YP2f) - Evgeniy Kazarin (YP2i) Sergey Shloydo (YP5b) - Vladimir Garapuchik (YP3a) Sergey Kovalchuk (YP2h) - Alexandr Pavlov (YP1m) - Andrey Priszyazhnyuk (YP6b) Artem Zaytsev

Alsolate
Season 3: 2022-23 Table Squad Finances Transfers Y. Preview Y. Intake I've had internet problems so a late update. Nearly finished the next season too so will probably be writing that one tonight or tomorrow. Mid-table again and long may it continue. Despite mediocre youth intakes, a couple of players are making the step up. Especially Bjorn Bremer. He's already my first choice cb. I renewed all senior players' contracts and facilities are improving. A lot of the senior squad are very similar in abilities so I'd like to sell some in the next couple of seasons when youth players are about ready to step up. We have a B squad but they only play the occasional friendly and I don't know if they climb the leagues automatically or what. So just putting youth players that aren't going to make it in there at present due to the lack of matches they play.
darren1983
League | FA Cup | League Cup | Transfers | Squad | Finances Was a bit of an odd season really. After last season's playoff loss I felt we weren't too far behind the top sides and that maybe, with a bit of luck, we could challenge right at the top. So obviously we lost 1-0 at home to a newly promoted side on the opening day! We did then win 4 in a row but then only won once in the next 2 months (only 2 defeats in that time though) and from there we were consistently inconsistent for the rest of the season. We did manage to get ourselves in the playoff battle though towards the end of Feb before a run of 4 1-0 defeats in 7 games (all 4 games we conceded in either the 89th or 91st minute) made me accept we wouldn't challenge but then just as quickly we won 5 of the final 6 games (drawing the other) to end the season in 5th place and the playoffs just like last season. Also like last season we faced Norwich in the semi finals. In the first leg at home an early goal was the difference as we won 1-0. The away leg we struggled and for some reason my players just tried to kick Norwich off the pitch. They finally made the breakthrough after 68 minutes and I felt we were done then up popped Ross Angus 30A (top scorer with just 12 this year) in the 92nd minute to send us through to the final. In the final we faced a Fulham side that only missed out on promotion on the final day as they drew with Blackburn (who finished 2nd) and we just never turned up on the day, completely outplayed in a 2-0 loss. In the transfer market we were forced to sell Chris Lambert 33A an attacking full back but we have a lot of depth there so not upset especially with the fee. In the cups a rotated side lost home to league 2 Chesterfield in the League Cup while we had a nice little run in the FA Cup but still have never made it to the 1/4 finals or further. One thing I have been meaning to mention in my round ups but keep forgetting is how well our U18s have been doing. They've won their league 7 years in a row (and 8 of the last 9) need to move up our youth level as soon as we can I think, in order to play better u18 sides Youth Intake - Not a great one this time, my HOYD is retiring this summer so will be a new one for next year Alex Hudson 35A - like him, not sure yet what MC role he will be best for so training him as a roaming playmaker to work on the most attributes while I make up my mindAndrew Iddi 35B - another CB, nice to have one comfortable with either footDaniel Nemth 35C - inside forward that needs a lot of work Career Progress Season League Position Junior Coaching Youth Recruitment Notes 2020/21 VNLN 8th Adequate Fairly Basic 2021/22 NVLN 3rd Good Average Recruitment and coaching upgrades Lost playoff semi finals 2022/23 NVLN 14th Good Adequate Youth Recruitment upgrade, started first coaching badge 2023/24 VNLN 7th Excellent Good Got first coaching badge. XaW
Janus Olsen 23j just got his debut for the Faroese national team! Granted it was a 1-8 loss to Iceland, but still. XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2027 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances Now this was a very fun season! We drew away to KÍ Klaksvík in the first match, but from then on we never looked back and won all the remaining matches. Needless to say, we won the title with a good margin down to the rest. And I hope this is the start of an era. The main goal now, is of course to keep being dominant in the Faroes, and then make some progress in Europe. Oh, and become professional of course, and I think I'm going to save money until we can go pro, instead of trying to improve the facilities. I did get some good improvements to academy coaching and youth recruitment and that seems to have made a difference. Because our youth intake was really amazing! And especially Bergur Joensen 27a of course. A 5 star talent with a Model Citizen personality? Well, colour me impressed! He'll go straight into the first team next season, and I imagine a few other other will do as well. In the Løgmanssteypið we beat Suðuroy, Hoyvík and Havnar Bóltfelag to reach the final. There we lost on pens to 07 Vestur. In the Europa Conference League we started in the 1st qualifying round were we beat Sutjeska Nikšić of Montenegro. In the 2nd qualifying round we drew Videoton of Hungary. An amazing away match were we lost 6-4 was the first leg, and in the away leg we were 2-0 up until we conceded in the 86th minute. Desperate to get the goal to get us through made us open up and concede another in stoppage time to end on a 2-2 and we got knocked out. You thought I'd forgotten the map? Nope, just waited until we had visited a few countries. Here it is with Belarus, Luxembourg, Norway, Montenegro and Hungary marked.
Cookie147
SEASON 11 - 2030/2031 JD CYMRU PREMIER - 5th Position Another really good season in the top flight, where we competed right until the end, and again have nothing to show for it. Like last season, we finished the season in 5th place, putting us in to the Euro Cup II, play-off semi final. A home draw against Haverfordwest, like last season, but a mixture of ill timed injuries and suspensions meant we struggled to match them and lost 1-2. We did reach the Welsh Cup final the week before, versus Welsh giants, TNS. However, two first half red cards destroyed morale and we got pumped 0-6. So a brilliant season, and a final two weeks to forget. LEAGUE TABLE: PLAYER OF THE SEASON: When your star centre back finishes top scorer with 17 goals, there is only going to be one winner of this award, and in all honesty I can't quite believe he's a product of our youth academy. He's so good! He also won the league player of the season, and is currently playing in the European U21 Finals, in Poland. The amazing Luke Vaughan-Evans (YP07A). YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON: It's Luke Vaughan-Evans (YP07A) again. He also won the leagues young player of the year award. YOUTH INTAKE: Nothing to write home about. I need more Luke's. IMPROVEMENTS: None - we're skint again. I've overspent on the youth upgrades from last season, and we're suffering the consequences. I think European money is the only way things will improve in the department. That's why the end of season form was so disappointing. grff
NK Zadar: 2078/79 season review Three in a row in the league. Our CL season was gutting as we managed to reach the S/F after drawing Kobenavn and PSG in the knockouts, before facing Porto. XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2028 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances Before the season I noticed that KÍ Klaksvík had turned professional as the first team in the Faroe Islands. This meant we were in for a major battle to retain the title, and did we ever! We both went the season unbeaten! Both legs against each other were draws. We also had a draw away to 07 Vestur, while KÍ drew at home to TB and, surprisingly, away to whipping boy B68 Toftir and that in turn gave us the title! A really special season and I'm really happy we won it! After the season we also got the message we are going professional after the season! We now have really good academy coaching and youth recruitment, and with the professional status done it's time to ask for facilities. While waiting for that, I'd love to get more youth intakes like this one! Simply amazing and I could pick out a lot of players to showcase, but I chose two in Hugin Gregersen 28b and Mads Dybkjær 28c. A lot of these kids will be part of the main squad next season anyway. In the Løgmanssteypið we beat Havnar Bóltfelag and B68 Toftir to reach the final. Here we beat KÍ Klaksvík after extra time to claim another trophy. We had our first try in the Champions League this season. In the 1st qualification round we faced Dundalk of Ireland. We drew at home, but sneaked in a 1-0 win away to go through. In the 2nd qualifying round we lost both legs to BATE Borisov of Belarus. This meant we went into the Europa League. In the 3rd qualification round we beat Partizani Tirana of Albania before barely beating out Sparta Praha of Czechia to reach the group stage. Here we had a tough draw in Lille of France, Napoli of Italy and Bournemouth of England. We did manage to beat Napoli at home (as I posted above) and draw away to Lille, but we lost the rest and ended in 4th place in the group. The map is updated and now I've added Ireland, Albania, France, Italy and the UK.
dkouv
Scarborough Athletic - Season 24 (2043/44) English Premier League League / Europe: Liverpool knocked us out of the Champions league for the third year in a row. This time it was in the quarter final, and this was also the first time I was actually expecting to beat them. After all, we were miles ahead of them in the league, having got 4 points from the head-to-heads, and also drew the away leg of the quarter final 2-2. But then, of course, we proceeded to lose the home leg 2-4 and were out for another year. We didn’t get FMed either, they totally deserved to beat us. Don’t know what it is about these European games against the other English teams, I just can’t seem to get past them. Ironically, Liverpool then proceeded to get thrashed 6-3 by Atletico in the semis, a team I soundly beat a couple of years ago. We had no problems beating the big teams in the domestic cups, winning both the FA and League cup, although we did FM Spurs in the FA cup final. I wish we saved this kind of luck for the Champions League. In the league, I was again focusing on top 4, but we actually with a shot of a title until the last game, and finished 3rd with a very respectable 81 points in the end. I get the feeling that all these extra cup games took a toll on the league and CL campaigns in the end, though. The best news of the domestic season was that Liverpool didn't qualify for the CL, so maybe we have a chance next year. Players: Still totally dependent on Nick Harmon 13b (AML/ST) who was injured from April onwards but still finished runner up in the league Golden Boot. Harry Steele 17a (DMC/MC) also had another great season, and I finally have a promising-looking youngster coming through in young forward Jack Watson 20a (MR/AMRC/ST), who hopefully can take over Harmon’s mantle once he gets older. But too many of my squad players are mediocre at best, so I could do with a bit of luck in the next few intakes. Youth intake: The last several intakes have been pretty rubbish, so I was hoping for a change of luck. This one has absolutely zero depth but two ok-looking prospects in strikers Danny Higgins 24a (AMRC/ST) and Dominic Jones 24b (AMRL/ST). Let’s see what, if anything, comes of them. Transfers: Some more trimming of squad players which is set to continue. I've had those, but ever since I started doing the press conferences myself (it's a bit of a slog though), I've avoided it. Could be random, but it could also mean my assistant are putting too little or too much pressure on the players. No idea if that will help you any, but it does work for me, so I though I'd share. Armeniar
S9 – Liga NOS (4th) – Europa Conference League (Winner) - Taça de Portugal Placard (Semi final) – Taça da Liga CTT (Semi final) - Squad (U23) - Transfers Transfers The board decided to create a B club after our promotion to the Liga NOS, they currently play at the 4th level and I doubt they will ever feature in the playable leagues. It did however open up the opportunity to make one of our club legends return: Tito is their very first coach. This way, we can keep him around and pay him back for all he’s done for the club. We lost our 3rd goalkeeper Oliveira to Guimaraes on a free transfers, my fault for not renewing his contract soon enough. I was in doubt about his potential, he might prove me wrong in the future. That being said, the big transfer is our wonderkid Fortes leaving us. From the very first season, he was wanted by some high profile clubs. The board almost sold him to Porto two seasons ago for 7.5 million, this season he left us for 30 million more in January because the board accepted an offer from Liverpool. I knew it was impossible to keep him here, but losing him hurts even with all the money coming in. So far he played 8 games (2 as a starter) for Liverpool in which he scored twice and assisted once, quite impressive as a midfielder. Season review Last year’s 5th place in the Liga NOS didn’t seem to be luck or coincidence, we are really establishing ourselves as one of the better teams in the league. Obviously FC Porto and especially SL Benfica are still miles away, but we just shouldn’t be scared from any other teams anymore. I did think we would have some issues with the games coming thick and fast as we featured in the Liga NOS, 2 domestic cups and the Europa Conference League, but that didn't seem to be the case. We had an incredible first half of the season (overview). We were 3rd in the Liga NOS and really chasing Porto & Benfica, while we even managed to secure a draw at Porto's and Sporting's ground for the first time ever. In Europe, the two cups and the Liga NOS we only lost once: who other than Benfica defeated us in the league, although we didn't make it easy for them and they only won 1-0. In January we got bad news: not only did 10 of our best players leave for the Africa Cup, we also lost our wonderkid Fortes to Liverpool. The players that stayed at Bragança did their very best but most of them are nowhere near the quality of our internationals and aren't even in our senior squad. They had to defend our colours for a considerable period of time (calendar). In the Liga NOS they did a good job (although we lost track of Benfica & Porto, which is comprehensible), but they got smashed by Benfica in both the Taça de Portugal Placard & Taça da Liga CTT semi final. It's a shame we couldn't face them with our strongest squad, maybe we would've had a chance. In the Liga NOS we finished 4th and yet again, at the end, the Germans Benfica always win… 8th time in a row they secured the Liga NOS title now. I thought Porto would’ve been more competitive this season with Roberto Mancini leaving Benfica for Inter, but their new manager Massimiliano Allegri didn’t disappoint. There’s actually some other cool managers as well: Patrick Vieira at Porto, Hernan Crespo at Boavista, Cristiano Ronaldo coaching his boyhood club Sporting,... The biggest achievement this season wasn't the semi finals in the cups or the 4th place in the league, no... It was the Europe Conference League. The group stage was no big deal for us, with Malmo and Ludogorets being smaller teams than we are now. We did however show CSKA Moskow how we Cape Verdians can ball, which really surprised me as they have a fairly decent team. The next round we defeated Besiktas as we won 5-0 in our home game against them. Bordeaux was our opponent in the semi final and probably the best team we faced, with some extremely good players like for example Pellissard. We had a really good game in France, nonetheless both teams failed to score. At our own ground, Bordeaux still didn't manage to score while Baessa guided us to the finals with a phenomenal goal. Surprisingly enough, the final was an encounter between two Portuguese teams. Vitoria de Guimaraes stunned Premier League side Leeds in the semi finals. This definitely played in our advantage, because Leeds has a quality team (squad) and would probably have been to strong for us. Guimaraes on the other hand finished 6th in our league and is a team I love to play against... We already played them 3 times this season without being beaten and made it 4! Duarte - who's had a tremendous year - opened the score with his 21st goal and showed us the way to the title! Class of 2028 - Best prospects Fernandes – Sporting CP tried to poach him. Developed into a promising looking full back. He did however not get much game time since we have Mendes and Silva on his position. Next season he should become Mendes’ sub, but that means I’d have to sell Silva who’s been with us from the very first intake… Difficult. Youth intake Mediocre again. No stunning new players coming through, although some should have potential to become part of our senior squad. Signed Fortes, Lopes, Pereira, I. Fernandes & A. Fernandes. I need a new CB and Lopes should have the talent, but his profile doesn't really please me. He's small, hasn't got that much strenght and actually doesn't even know how to defend. He needs a lot of work, but I hope he will turn into a decent CB sooner rather than later. Spoiler I do feel like the intakes didn’t get better despite doing considerable improvements to our youth recruitment. We will need to wait until the facilities get upgraded, which we can do now because of Fortes’ transfer and the prize money. Our balance went up from 4 million to 40 million in one season… Edited June 30, 2020 by Armeniar
