Ah Freddie Adu... He's gonna be the next big thing y'know! A superstar in the making! Europe's finest scouting him, a popstar girlfriend... Signed by Benfica, promptly sent on loan all over the place. Currently playing for the mighty Esporte Clube Bahia.

Ahmed Khalil

Diego Biseswar

Carlos Eduardo

Tiago Neves

Alex Silva - even though he enjoyed a decent career so far, just like Carlos Eduardo and Tiago Neves, big things were expected from them

Bryan Bergougnoux - decent career at Toulouse, but when he was at Lyon he was considered one of the future France stars, didnt make it

Sotiris Ninis - again, decent career, but he was expected to have a big impact at a big club

Ivan Fatic

Denis Alibec

Back in about 96 i used to sign Abdul Mumini ali from some Swedish team, play him just behind the striker and he was brilliant. Did a job no matter if it was for a small team or ac milan. I googled him and was quite sad to see he wasn't the player he could have been!

Here's a fresh one:

Bojan

Was groomed to be the next star of Barça, and now he's bouncing off clubs each season (loans) and sucking all over the place.

Same for Portillo, he was a beacon of hope for Real and turned out to be a worthless player even for for the 2nd level of Spanish football.

Mind you, Portillo wasn't destined to be a world class star, but he was supposed to be result of Real Madrid's youth academy, as an answer to Barcelona's golden generation. He and Pavón broke into the first team around the same time, during the Galácticos era.. now look at both of them..

  • 3 weeks later...

Jose Baxter, he was a great prospect if anyone remembers, along with Febian Brandy among others.

"Baxter was one of three men arrested in October 2009 in Kirkby on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and on suspicion of possessing counterfeit money. He was subsequently released without charge."

:))

Chris Gunter was a dissapointment also.

The MC from FM 09 who played in for some club in Italian lower leagues. you could get him for like 40k pounds, but he was a beast. SI removed him from 9.3 DB after they found out he doesn't exist IRL. :D Mascio IIRC. :D

Think Prospar was Trinidad & Tobago or something like that - played in the Middle East? I also have a niggling memory that his DOB was wrong and he was actually a 30-something who was input as a 20-something?

Allesio Cerci, He was a great young talent for AS Roma on CM 03-04, slightly faded away as the years went on.

Diego for Santos also in CM 03-04, although having a very good playing career, he was like the next big thing alongside Robhino.

Steven Defour, again still going strong but he was highly rated in FM08.

He's playing in the Championship... hardly obscurity.

Alessio Cerci has scored 8 goals this season with Torino and will probably join Italy at Brasil 2014.

Ahmed Khalil

Top scorer of UAE national team, which made the biggest step forward last year in the entire FIFA. You will see him score in Qatar WC. I can bet pennies for oats.

Anastios Skalidis!!!! He was god on cm 01/02!!!! Only second behind the forementioned Moukoko.

Watch the video!!

Hahah he dominated at Hearts in my save, signed him in about 2004 from Kilmarnock with a few other unstoppable Greek Regens (I won the UEFA cup in 2003 and a lot of the Greek wonderkids ended up in Scotland) but he was the boss! Him and Mark Kerr took us to a few Champions leagues, a club world cup and had Scotland ranked as the 3rd strongest league in Europe by 2013!!!

Daniel Braathen. Was amazing on 2 CM versions, but never really broke through IRL. But it wasn't just the CM researchers who thought he would become a great player. Lots of media and sportscommentators hailed him as a comming star when he was around 20-21.

Just wondered what world exactly has Wayne Rooney beat.. :D except the media world, of course

Great player, but not as good as on FM 185 PA in FM14 where abilities are generally tuned down. Look at Özil who has 168 CA. Any sane manager would take Ôzil over Rooney as a AMC.

Rooney has both higher PA and CA than Özil in FM14. Coz he's english. Had Rooney been german he would probably have a much lower CA/PA :)
