I live in Bishops Cleeve. That tiny pointless village just to the north of it. Where abouts do you live?

Reply number 1000! Do I get a prize?

In Whaddon, A Large Chavvy area containing the Football Stadium:thup:

I like Bishops Cleeve:thup:

At least something exciting happens in Whaddon. Nothing happens in Bishops Cleeve, although having said that there was a police raid on the pub while we were sat in there the other day. That was the most exciting thing ever to happen in Bishops Cleeve.

Which Pub was it?

The Royal Oak by any chance?

Nah, the Kings Head

They wouldn't tell us what it was to do with, they just took all our names and left. They had guns tho - very exciting.

Tbf, that is way more exciting than Whaddon:(

You'd be lucky to see a stabbing down here.

That's not a flag. That's a banner. Something to hang over the porta-potty door at DotFest. Not that any pennon or pretentious party will preserve your precious pixels from purgation...

Ducks the spray coming from SSGTroyer's mouth. Yuck.

That's some alliteration there.

Lol

Great idea, I'm all for it. :D

FM 09 does a decent job with 2D (if ya can run it of course), but it does feel like a step down still from previous efforts.

Though I think CM 03/04 had the ultimate dots meself, they were the biggest and brightest, I could even see 'em without me glasses on! :D

Oh, and many thanks to michaeltmurrayuk for his excellent skin too! I've tried it and it makes such a difference to the 09 ME, even gets rid of that time bar that I'm not a fan of. :)

CAMRAD was shut down due to Health and Safety reasons.

An unnamed 3D lover broke into HQ and hid a tuna sandwich behind a radiator causing a horrendous smell throughout the building. This in turn led to an infestation of Tuna-loving wild locusts. The building was evacuated and the exterminators were sent in to clear up the mess. A few men lost their lives in this catastrophic event but luckily the whole thing was cleared up and operations are now back up and running.

Mr.C was taken to a secure, top secret location during the events that occured and was escorted back to HQ unharmed once the all clear was given.

Damn those pesky 3D kids.

I have a song...

:Teenage boy wakes up in night, sits up, looks at computer screen that is displaying dots:

I sit alone, and watch your light,

My only friend through teenage nights

All the patches I had to get

I got them off the internet

You showed us all the old time stars

From Liverpool, to Vauxhall Cars

You showed 'em shoot, you showed 'em score

What you left out, our minds did draw

So don't become some background numbers

A backdrop for managers with saw thumbers

Who just don't know, or just don't care

They just complain that it's beyond repair

You've had the time, you've had the power

You're yet to have your finest hour

Crazy dots

All we see is, three dee gaga

Three dee goo goo, three dee gaga

All we hear is three dee gaga

Three dee blah blah

SI Games, what's new?

Circular things, someone still loves you!

We watch their arms, we watch their ears

In full screen, for years and years

We hardly need to use our minds

This match engine's a field of mines

Let's hope you'll never leave our friend

Like all good things, we truely depend

So stick around, 'cos we might miss you

When we grow tired of all this visual

You've had the time, you've had the power

You're yet to have your finest hour

Crazy dots

All we see is, three dee gaga

Three dee goo goo, three dee gaga

All we hear is three dee gaga

Three dee blah blah

SI Games, what's new?

Circular things, someone still loves you!

You've had the time, you've had the power

You're yet to have your finest hour

Crazy dots

:goes back to sleep:

If you can't work out the tune...

A work of genius SCIAG :D

Perhaps you could burn that on to a CD for me sometime SCIAG? ;)

I'll do my song inspired by The Smiths too (it could be the B-side):

Frankly, SI Games

Frankly, SI Games, this FM I've played

It plays OK but it has lost its soul

I love the dots, I hate the 3D

I want to go back in FM history

Frankly, SI Games, I'm managing Saints and I'm a wreck

I've got the St. Albans chairman breathing down my neck

I want to finish in 5th or above

Anything else I would be quite ashamed of, SI Games

Four, four, bloomin' two,

I just don't know what to do!

But still I'd rather play FM

Than Champ Man or Fifa

Any day, any day, any day

But sometimes I'd feel more fulfilled

Making Christmas cards with the mentally ill

I want awesome dot mode now!

I want to go back in FM history

Frankly, SI Games, since you ask

3D is a flatulent pain in the arse

I do not mean to be so rude

Still, I must speak frankly, SI Games

Oh, give us awesome dot mode!

To have a better 2D match engine in future Football Manager games.

And can I join CAMRAD?

Long live Parslow! :D

It's descended into a bit of a farce though hasn't it?

I'm sure SI will be trying improve the 2D match engine.

And it could be placed in the wishlist.

Too boost post counts and too make jokes :D

Only joking the point is it's a organisation that wants a better 2-D dot mode.

Let me put this simply....

2D Dots.

There is very little room for improvement.

"Show me a dot"

"There you are"

"Now show me it in 2D"

"There you are"

Any "improvement" improvement would simply change either the fact that it is essentially a dot, or the fact that it is 2D.

Peter - a fair point, if only every thread was like this!

I've posted this elsewhere but thought I would just mention it here.

I've been back on FM09 and playing it quite a bit over the last few days. I have found that the match representation on FM09 can be quite repetitive and I tend to see the same things happening quite often in 2D mode just using key highlights. Does anyone else find this?

There are certain moves, chances (especially hitting the bar, skimming the bar, the ball going over) and even certain goals (especially one where the striker shoots from an angle quite close to the goal and it goes under the 'keeper) that I have seen occurring quite regularly during matches. I can only presume that this has something to do with the introduction of 3D because I haven't really noticed in it in FM08 but it really sticks out in the new game.

So, anyone else noticed this?

Regards,

C.

There is also the winger dribbling through from out wide into the box too. Also, the corners look very similar at times. I can predict whether it will be a goal from a corner or not.

A lot of the time, I can predict whether there will be a goal. There are a lot of similar shots and goals in this game.

Old FMs used to be repetitive in some ways but this FM actually feels boring to watch for me now. Could be the level I'm playing at, I suppose. Might look nicer in the top flight.

I wonder if it is more repetitive because it has to be 'scripted' to some extent to connect with the 3D events?

Again have to agree, in my last 1 hour session I've seen Hugo Rodallega, Valon Behrami, and Ricardo Quaresma simply running into the box and scuffing it past the line into the goal, just not reallistic, I say bring back 08, or a better version DOTS!

The movement repeats itself too much for my liking.

Surprised you've only just noticed how crap the ME is :p

Well...it's only really made crap by FM08 standards but it's a massive step down I've always felt. The introduction of 3D has to be to blame really, hopefully they do a better job for FM10

I like the dots too and always did. They should work on improving it. So count me in! I´d like to see attendance or stands though in the 2d view but only if it remains in 2d!

The 3d is at the moment not up to standards but am sure it will be, but it might take a while and few more versions of fm.

Monstrousity

Definition: the quality or state of being monstrous

In other words saying something isn't very nice or it's monstrous (acts like a monster).

That's an answer to "What in god's name is monstrousity?" Not "What in god's name is this monstrousity?"
