  1. Thanks very much! I'm doing an update for FM 2008 alongside this, also using my own data. So progress can be a little on the slower side, but hoping to have a first release of both updates very soon!
  2. i was hoping to create a thread for my FM 2008 update today, but the latest news of another, final official update for FM24 has made me delay it. I could have alot of work ahead of me once that releases! lol So no thread yet and I imagine it may be here in the General Discussion where I post it anyway, as there's no place for older FM updates in the Edtior's Hideaway.
  3. I was hoping to release a 'teaser' first edition of my update today, but alas I've just seen the news of a further, final official update from SI incoming, so going to hold off as I know I'll be busy working away again once that comes out! So more news once the SI update is released!
  4. Great to know there's interest out there! I'm gonna create a thread very soon for my update, but I'm not sure which forum to put it in currently as there's no place for older FM versions in the Editor's Hideaway, so may just slap it in General Discussion here.
  5. Hola folks! I've been considering a retro update recently, but am now scratching my head with the editor as to how I can achieve the desired setup, so thought I'd ask here Basically I want multiple groups of 5+ teams playing the first round, with the winners of each group then advancing into a knock out stage with each other, kind of like the World Cup really I guess! I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but what's the best way to set this cometition up in the editor please? Thanks for any input!
  6. Howdy! Apologises for the delay, I decided to wait for the final SI update so as not to complicate things Rest assured, it will be released very soon!
  7. Awesome matey! glad there's another data editor out there! I look forward to seeing your update It's all opinions of course, but I hope to at least be able to base my edits on matches that I've seen to have evidence at least! I'm hoping to have the first update out soon; it's been delayed a lot as I'm working on an update for FM 2008 alongside this.
  8. I hope you're right and I agree FM isn't Cyberpunk. But it all depends on how much more demanding FM25 is still. The Deck can play current FM with some performance and graphical setbacks compared to your average laptop or desktop PC version, say. So I fear FM25 could become a step too far in hardware terms and I have no faith in the awful SteamOS compatibility layer already.
  9. The Deck struggles to go over 30fps with most modern games and more technically demanding older games. It's decent with FM and a few leagues selected, but if FM25 is the drastic overhaul that SI are portraying it to be, then I'd expect the Deck to struggle.
  10. You can but it's not good tbh. The editor just isn't formatted for it and resolution isn't as good as a laptop so expect alot of scroling
  11. Hi folks! I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but whenever I try to edit kits in the editor, the kit templates all show as blank?
  12. HISTORY/THE LONG-WINDED SPEECH... Whenever I play FM, I'm never truly happy with player stats and other little niggles (I blame the OCD ), so I've decided to start up once again an old project of mine, an 'ongoing update' of sorts, where I will be updating player and manager stats, CA, PA, positions, etc. The purpose of my update and what sets it apart from most of the others here, is a focus purely on the key areas listed above - a true 'attention to detail' throughout - to give the most updated and realistic representation of each individual player and club's own personalities and skill sets. My update will NOT include any transfers or loans. There are already many utterly amazing, multi-person, transfer update-focused updates released. I do this update (as well as a fantasy video games one and an update for FM 2008! - threads to follow very soon, check my profile/posts for links!), all by myself in my spare time and could not possibly hope to compete, nor would I want to! I instead hope to see this update as something long term that will be the perfect compliment to the other transfer updates, as the separate focus I have on clubs and player data will hopefully lead to improved compatibility and the ability to run my updates alongside any others. The level of success of this will vary from update to update and game to game I'm sure, but I will at least be using FM24 to experiment with this being more of a possibility! However you choose to experience my update in FM24 though, I just sincerely hope that you - as ever - enjoy! NB: I have full admiration and respect for the scouts that work on FM and no disrespect is intended with this project; it's just an alternative that I plan on rolling out weekly or bi-weekly (hopefully! lol), to give the community an alternative database with more regular updates on players and teams as they happen throughout the season; one that can also hopefully be influenced with input from the community itself. So I've waffled on long enough...! WHAT'S IN THE UPDATE? The ONLY update with regular player and staff updating! Player and manager stat updates - constantly updated stats as the season progresses! Player and manager personality updates - favoured/hated personnel, hidden character attributes, etc. - Managers fall out with a player? Friendships forming off the pitch? Staff leave a club under less than mutual circumstances? A player has a burst of form, a brush with the law off the pitch, a sudden transfer request or a drop in consistency? all be addressed in player stats! Player altered/updated appearances - for the 3D engine. Teams - club rep, stadiums, correct names, finances, morale, new kits, etc.. plus Juventus FC and Mancheser United's real names and details added in! Leagues - All of the promotions and relegations and tournament/cup winers for the 23/24 season updated as and when results come in, complete with the correct/more accurate league/cup names added! Player form - an emphasis on big game performances and consistency as player develop reputations for reliability or perhaps 'big game bottlers'..? Injuries - added/removed as and when they happen! New players/youth/wonderkids - added when they are discovered! Compatibility with transfer updates - allowing for transfers and my own stat updates together in your game! (WIP) INSTALLATION: Download the .fmf file from the link below. Copy/paste it into your 'Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2024 > editor data' folder When you start a new game, select the '24.0.0 Update' database in the top right Tick the 'MorrisseyMuse's Attention To Detail Data Update' option under the 'File' section, if not already ticked. Enjoy! DOWNLOAD LINK/VERSION: Coming very soon!
  13. Load up the editor and start my stat updates for FM24 and FM2008 for another year!
  14. I've spent the past few months on/off creating an update for FM08. Of course it gets reset to a degree with every itineration of FM as I'm basing it on the latest FM db, with my own modifications. I'm gonna create a thread for it soon as it's nearing a playable 'demo' stage now with at least a handful of Premier League teams updated to a good level.
  15. I can certainly see this. I remember some amazing careers in various CM games and I'm still proud of my 23 year old self getting City to 4th in FM06 lol FM 08 was the season when City were taken over and got a bank balance and some decent players, so definitely happy memories there! I just loved the older FM UI though, it wasn't perfect but it was much faster to navigate than current FM.
  16. CM 01/02 and FM 07 seem to be the most popular amongst series fans? I sank many hours into both, the main reason why FM 08 is my fave is due to it introducing scout reports that were sadly lacking in 07, making accurate scouting of transfer prospects pretty tough! I've played the update on champman0102.co.uk and it's awesome! I'd love to do my own version of the update but FM 08 update has dominated my editing over the past few months and my FM24 stat update will begin again in the morning!
  17. Nice! I used to load Argentina as 1 of the 3 playable leagues just so I could buy Cavenaghi and D'Alessandro lol
  18. Ooh, do you mean CM 01/02, or the Xbox exclusive CM 02/03? Both were/are awesome! Back when I didn't have a PC of my own, I got an Xbox for Xmas with CM 02/03 and got really heavily into it. It was brilliantly ported! CM 4 was that year on PC of course and I eventually got heavily into that and CM 03/04 also.
  19. This has become a somewhat bane of contention for some within the community it seems. I'm certainly one; I probably love editing modern FM more than I do actually playing it nowadays. It has become far too bloated and complicated in its quest to become even more sim-like, but it's lost some of the simple joy that made the early FM's and CM such fun to play. FM Touch was a great idea that is sadly now limited to the Switch version, though I personally still love editing and playing FM 2008, my all-time fave of the series still. I've just created a thread deicated to the old FM's and am hoping to release my modern update for FM08 once FM24 fully releases soon, for anyone interested!
  20. Hola peeps! FM 2008 is my all-time fave in the series, blending the perfect mix of casual and in-depth simulation IMO. I'm currently doing a modern update for FM08 (thread coming soon!) and it's got me thinking that there's no real dedicated area in the forums for the older FM's, in particular FM 06-08! So I thought I'd create this thread as a place to show love for and discussion about all things older FM.
  21. Absolutely I would! I've been doing the same already for the past few months on-off. I've got a few teams complete, just waiting for FM24 to come out now so I can update some of the existing players and add new ones. I was gonna create a new thread dedicated to the older FM games in the General section soon, as FM 2008 is definitely my fave of the entire series and I can see why there's love for FM 06 and 07 too.
  22. We need an 'old FM' thread or section of the forum for those of us who still love the oldies! I'm editing FM08 currently but don't know where to put a thread about it!
