After winning the league in my first season the expectations were high, we were up and running and I also won the Community Shield 2-0 to ManU. But I was struggling.. A lot!

For my second season I brought in: Jack Wilshire, Tunani (regen), Sven Bender and Oxlade-Chamberlain (yes, I think Arsenal hates me.)

And I sold: Spearing, Carroll, Pacheco, Assaidi and a lot of other players.

But it just didn’t work, I had a tough time scoring. At the end of the season no one had above 10 goals in the Premier League. Eventually we finished 3th, with City winning the League. We lost to Arsenal in the Capital Cup qtr final and were out the FA Cup in the 4th round to Aston Villa... Also had a qtr final loss against Porto in the CL. Porto won the CL.

Now in my third season I changed my formation to a 5-5-0 formation also sold some key players in Reina, Shelvey, Downing and Ba. Brought in: Aaron Ramsey, Ter Stegen, Jack Butland, Inigo Martinez and two potential 5 star regens and we are playing great football! First in the league. After 24games 13 points ahead of Man City. Are still in the Capital Cup final against Norwich, first round ko stage against R.Madrid and still in the Fa Cup. Hopefully we can continue our great run!

Seriously considering selling Suaréz in the 2012/13 winter transfer window.

He keeps getting booked and sent off for idiocy and I am certain I can get Llorente in as he wants to leave Athletic...

Any of you guys ever sell Suaréz? I'm assuming the Liverpool fans would go ballistic? Both in-game AND on this thread :D

Something totally unrelated (to my previous post)...

I just had a conversation with Jamie Carragher and recommended he become a coach, to which he replied "I can make myself available now if you'd like?".

Obviously I agreed, and so his staff attributes screen was added to his profile. To be honest, his attributes aren't spectacular (good determination and mental coaching though) but I want him to stay on with the club regardless.

Anyway - I thought he had agreed to become a player/coach with Liverpool but he's not listed in the training section, and when I try to offer a coaching contract his agent keeps changing 'coach' to 'player'.

What has happened? He said he could make himself available right away but I don't know what he means :(

Just before the season started i sold Suarez to Chelsea for £35 million and 30% of next transfer fee. Fans seemed okay about it, especially when i then bought in the transfer listed Cavani for £32million.

Far better player, person and consistant goal scorer. So far 13 in 14 games. Finishing and composure puts Suarez to shame, and i dont need to worry about silly yellow/red cards.

Though Cavani's wages and signing on fee made my finances hurt, i hope he can pay me back with prize money.

Big Liverpool fan here.. But so far am refusing to start a save with them as currently looking after my home town team - Cardiff City.. Rodgers is no longer liverpool manager on my save he is England Manager. Rafa is the liverpool manager, he won them the league in 2nd season. I was 9pts behind in 2nd.

After reading some of the thread its encouraged me to start a save. I'll play a counter attacking 4-3-3 which I use with my cardiff side. It plays some lovely football even if at times it can be bad at defending :D Although the goals scored more than outweigh the goals conceded. But at least I'll be able to purchase better players!

Good luck with your saves and i'll keep updated once I start a game!

Ins: Wellington Nem - £3.5mil, Jose Sosa - £6.25mil, Adryan - 875k (when he is allowed to transfer) Royston Drenthe - Free (squad backup), Craig Gordon (squad backup)

Outs: Downing - £10.25mil (some upfront, rest over 24mths) Doni - man city £1.5m, Wilson - bolton £2.5m, Pacheco - southampton £2m, Gulacsi - udinese - 400k.. and a couple of kids out for min value.

Also signed Paco Ayesteran (assistant manager) and Frank Arnesen as D.O.F

Won first two games (uefa cup qualifiers 3-0 home and 0-3 away)

Will update further in January! :)

Not amused.. top of league in mid december, Not saved game. I leave pc open while i was doing something and something in house tripped electric out :mad:

Reloaded game and started again.. usual suspects gone except downing who no one is interested in this time. Missed out on drenthe to vitesse who payed less wages, Got gordon in, Wellington nem and Adryan in. Miss out on sosa due to no funds but not bothered as he was hit and miss first time around.

Did any of you get extra funds in January ready for transfer window? I could do with a couple more players, Especially a 3rd striker (missed out on guidetti to spurs on loan) and Yesil is out for 4mths :rolleyes:

I personally didn't get any extra funds in January, but I know others did. That may be because they had offloaded higher earners and their balance was healthier?

I got offered the Barcelona job, I was tempted so I went "Save As..." and split my save. In my Barca save Pep Guardiola took over Liverpool. In my Liverpool save he took over Man Utd (Sir Alex retired).

Haven't done much with Barca, but so far Liverpool are off to a good start for Season 3. Were unlucky to go down in the Community Shield, but have won our opening two games comfortably, have no major injuries and my young players are starting to get to the level where they can generally be relied upon.

Looking forward to the season.

EDIT: Have won the league twice in a row, but I'm still not predicted to win the league (Media Prediction: 2nd)!

won the league for the 3rd time in 6 seasons the champions league is a struggle for me but not giving up gonna promote more young players this season as i have a ageing squad Lewandowski stared again scoing over 40 goals in all comps is nearing 30 but still scoring hopefully ill finally win the 1 trophy thats eluded me the champions league bring on season 7

Just purchased FM13 and started my Liverpool save, bought Wellington Nem for his release clause but wasn't able to sell Downing or Cole who both wanted ridiculous amounts of money to be paid to them, so both are on loan with the option to buy. Squad is thin as I've let youth players go out on loan but should have enough to get by until January, as in real life. Got rid of Pascoe as he has naff stats, brought back Ayesteran and got in a few other specialist staff. Next priority is going to be fitness staff as all the ones currently at the club are rubbish.

Currently unbeaten and yet to concede a goal (including friendlies, 9 games in) using 4-2-3-1 primarily with 4-3-3 in European matches. May look at trying out 3-5-2 against certain opposition.

Well save didnt go as well as expected. Breezed through qualifying for UEFA cup and into groups. Got 2 decent sides and someone else who were poor.. This is when it all went wrong for my squad. For some reason the squad didn't quite gel with my tactic and by end of November I got sacked as was sitting close to relegation zone although there wasnt many points that separated me from the UEFA cup places. I was however sat comfortable in UEFA cup groups. :(

First time for being sacked on FM13 but hey ho.. Had to happen sometime. Back to drawing board with my tactic and just playing a few test runs to try and get it set right ready to start fresh sometime today. Scoring goals for fun, but conceding way too many for my liking and If I dont score first usually ends up with a defeat. But am not too downbeat, My original tactic I used is still working so if this one dont go to plan I got my backup.

For those who are struggling for motivation, Have you thought of setting restrictions on your games like British only players? Or under 24's? When I finally get going again I'm going to go for an all british team! P.S If any of you thats just starting out try and get Danny Batth from Wolves! On my cardiff save he is immense and is just under a total rating of 8 in 3 seasons!!! :)

Tried to sign Bryan Ruiz, Manuel Fernandes, Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Corchia, Thomas Ince and Wilfried Zaha but the deals for them were all unreasonable in some way. By end of preseason on the injury list are Gerrard, Sahin, Jose Enrique and Skrtel and I've just lost on the opening day 3-0 away at Southampton :( Gunna be a long season!

*Edit* Gone back in my save to before when i signed Lewandowski, want to make my game a bit more realistic as it's not like were going to be signing players like him just yet.

Sterling seems to appreciate Gerrard tutoring him in my save. I picked up Litmanen on a free to tutor my strikers.

I've tried Gerrard tutoring Sterling, but his determination only went up 2 points :(

Also got Litmanen but he couldn't tutor Borini or Ademilson :( . Tho hes now tutoring Yesil.

Now, how have people been doing regarding Carras wages? I got him to become a coach and so he ditched his agent (though hes not signed as a coach yet) and have since got him signed to a 20k per week contract with a manager/coach release clause which i think is a pretty good saving for me, just hit march toward end of first season :)

The game has been patched up ive decided to start a new save wont make any signings until January see how i go gonna use a 4-2-3-1 like i have in previous versions

Hope it doesnt mess with my tactics, ive started a Copenhagen save alongside my Liverpool one, glad to see the tackle og bug has been fixed, sick of seeing my players go in for a tackle in the box and they score a og

I just won the League there (1st season). Was knocked out of the FA Cup 5th round by Man Utd, lost the League Cup final to them as well (although I stuck with the kids and only lost 1-0 to a Rooney penalty ffs).

I was put out of the Euro Cup 2nd KO round by Dortmund, which the board were understanding about.

Anyway, when I won the League the board just said something like:

Board happy with Premier League win.

The board have stated they always thought a club of Liverpool's stature was capable of winning the League and are glad you (me obviously) never let them down...

That's IT??? Liverpool haven't won the League in over 20 years ffs, if it happened in real life I'm certain the board would be more than "happy" and "glad the manager never let them down..."

Such a massive anti-climax. Typical FM :mad:
