The fluency in Spanish was an accident. Not too sure I made the right decision with leagues and levels here, but most are countries I have some interest in. These are all the currently available jobs, but we'll move forward a few weeks without applying for any, and try and land in a, uh, situation. Forwarding through the first week, without applying, I was approached for an interview with Clyde F.C, and later offered the job, expecting a top half finish. Of course, we can't say no to an opportunity, no matter how bizarre it is for a Scottish club to find and approach a nobody from the Irish countryside... Goodwillie is way too good for this level. Had a deal in for a brilliant looking wee AMC, would have been perfect for setting up Goodwillie, but then the English stuck their necks in. You see, I semi-accidentally released about 3/4's of the squad. We had two massive, massive sales, which left the club relatively excellent financially, gave me a tidy budget to spend, getting a first badge, new analyst facilities and improvements to both Junior Coaching and Youth Recruitment. The board expect a playoff appearance. Entirely fair, to be honest. The media peg us as title favourites. Entirely fair, to be honest. Yeah..... That's a thing that happened. 31 new players. Also, 6 future transfers arranged. I am a madman, yes. I won't go through them all, just the key ones. Surprising number of foreign players, as I had the budget to shift the scouting packages to worldwide. Only for a few weeks, but that was more than enough for me to find a whole host of players to sign and/or shortlist. Along with plenty of flicking through random club and country squads. So, the big outgoings, Jimmy Lemetti, and Danny Brown, for 500k and 750k respectively, each with 50% of profit from next sales, and loaned back for two seasons. Super deals in my mind, each had one year to go, and wouldn't sign new deals, now we have money and the players for longer. On to the buys! Prskalo is the big one, and where the scouting packages pay for themselves, way better than this level and free as he was an amateur at some Swiss side! Was desperate for a player who could at least blag the False 9 role. Macleod took until deadline day, but poaching him from fellow League 1 side Airdrie for 100k will end up being a steal, already had a goal and 5 assists for them in 8 games this season! Morris was transfer listed at Shrewsbury, for free! Took an age to get him to agree to acceptable wages, but worth the effort. Prskalo was MOTM on his debut, with an assist and this goal... Makoumbou had been sitting around as a free agent for over a year, the ex-Monaco youth should make a fine winger here, Mroivili a similar story, just CM and Marseille. Zuparic was hunted down from Croatian 2nd level side Istra, and is 80k well spent, we'll be lucky if he stays here long term, I think he has the potential to be a wicked forward. Don't get me wrong though, it's not all foreign sorts brought in, we found some quality young Scots too, besides Macleod. Kirk was 14k from Raith, a bizarre young lad with bags of flair, but little technique. Boyle was at Queens Park, and Davidson is a £210 flier fro, Montrose who could come good, but has a long way to go. Already had a bit of a run in with Kirk. We won the game, but a 2-1 extra time win against a u-20 side isn't acceptable. Thankfully everything was resolved happy after I shouted at him a lot. McGovern was 2.1k from Berwick, should be fine depth at worst. Millar was 2.1k too, but from Montrose, and is the man between the sticks for the foreseeable. Douglas was another pick from Queens Park, but has already suffered a surprisingly brutal *upper* leg fracture. How hard do you have to be tackled to do that?!!!! Early scalp as we play a very even, toe to to game with Challenge Cup holders Dundalk Town and take the win. I think we could have taken Irish league leaders Shamrock Rovers too, but had injuries and all our wide players on international duty. Season highlight contender here, with what may be the most perfect volley I've ever seen in FM. Straight out of the book of Van Persie. Lowlight, my defence and especially keeper are idiots. We added this much needed fullback depth in early Dec, especially handy that he can play either side. Ex-Porto lad. Into the winter window, no money to spend, but we don't need to.
