Version 6.12 is compatible with the FM2012 Default Database (12.0.0) and the latest FM2012 Version (12.0.4) only. Later versions will not be supported until tested however minor versions will usually be fine.

The default version has active County Cups when Level 7 is active in the game. Once you make Level 7 inactive the cups will not be playable until Level 7 is activated again.

Levels 7 & 8 League Activation **PLEASE READ & FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS**

1. Extract the .dbc file "v6.12 FMUpdates FM2012 England Levels 7 & 8" to the Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2012\editor data folder in your My Documents (PC) / Documents (MAC) folder. If there is no 'editor data' folder then please create one and copy the folder into it.

2. Load FM2012

3. Select ‘Preferences’ and go to the ‘Display/Sound’ tab. UNTICK use skin cache. TICK ‘Always Reload Skin on Confirm’

4. When completed, leave preferences and ‘Start A New Game’

5. In the dialog window that pops up, TICK the change box.

6. Select the LATEST file (v6.12) in the list, if not already. Deselect ALL OLD VERSIONS!

7. Start a new game as normal, selecting FM2012 defeault database and select level 8 (English Regional First Divisions) as the lowest active league.

8. Select 'Add Key Staff' and 'Add Key Players to Active Teams'.

9. Ensure 'Use Real Fixtures When Available' is ticked.

10. Select 'Custom Database' and ensure you add 'Load All Players Based in England'

This file is not save game compatible and requires a new game to be started.

You may experience issues because you are loading other editor .xml or .dbc files that are causing a conflict. If you are having problems then please:

1. Delete everything in the 'editor data' folder.

2. Download the latest v6.12 file

3. Extract the .dbc v6.12 FMU FM2012 England Levels 7 and 8 file to the 'editor data' folder

4. Start a new game as per the league activation instructions

As part of our work with the English Fixtures, we have bundled the fixtures for Levels 1 to 6 with this release. Level 7 already has real fixtures while Level 8 will be released in a future update.

FAQ

* Can you explain the English Non-league system?

The BBC Sport website has an excellent guide to how the English non-league system operates - LINK

This file includes levels 1 to 8 activated, which is down to step 4 in the English Non-League pyramid:

* Why is my team in the Northern Premier League, shouldn't they be in the Isthmian League?

One of the qwerks of the English non league steps is how much change there is every season. This all depends on which teams are selected for promotion from Level 9 that may not easily fit into the regional geography of Levels 7 and 8. For Football Manager this is a problem as whilst rules have been set for each league and the vast majority of teams, unfortunately you can't programme common sense into the data editor. On the rare occasion you may find a team sorted into the wrong division, be rest assured that when the first opportunity arises to place them back into their correct division the game will sort them correctly.

* Why do I need to add All Key Staff?

I recommend you tick 'Add key staff'. That way all the staff you need, i.e. a physio and assistant manager will be generated for the clubs where there is not one set in the database.

* Is this release compatible with my save game?

As with all other editor data files, this release is not save game compatible.

* Are you planning on providing a data update for these teams so they have the correct players and staff etc?

This is not a player data update, no players have been added or their stats amended and I have no intention of adding this information.

* What is the rulebook?

The editor is limited in what match and competition rules can be input. As an example, clubs in Levels 7 and 8 are only permitted to give a player a contract, known as League Forms, for one playing season only.

I've reviewed the Isthmian, Southern and Northern League Handbooks and Rules and I have devised a simple rule book for gamers to follow (if they wish) to help make playing these leagues more realistic. The Rulebook PDF is combined within the file download.

Just a quick question about the Peter Swales Shield in the NPL, do you have that set as a super cup between the winners of the NPL premier and NPL challenge cup? That's what happened this year as the Chairman's cup didn't get played this season. I don't know if it's going to change again next year though.

Hi, would this also apply to making level7&8 teams have to register squad numbers, rather than just have numbers 1-11 on a matchday? I did this with the (easier!) advanced panels tab last year, but this year I can't for the life of me make it happen.

Hopefully someone can help me out here, basically I've downloaded the latest database file for the leagues and the county cups, followed every instruction to the key and I'm getting an error in which the Vodkat League Premier Division only has 21 teams and its saying the minimum is 22. I have absolutely no idea what the issue is :S

That league is at level 9 which is not active in this league. Have you altered the database in any way such as by moving teams?

You can have subs. I don't know what gives you the idea that you can't.

County Cups are....County Cup compeitions where teams player local opponents.

i have tried downloading this to where it should go and found it when i load the game but i am just not able to do it. could some one please put a complete idiots guide on as i tryt following the instructions and it doesnt work. i am on the newest version.

The instructions can't be put any clearer, just put the .dbc file in the folder mentioned and select the file when loading the game up.

I have checked this with 12.1.1, the game hasn't been tested on this minor version but 12.1.0 tests were fine.

This involves editing the Advanced Rules of the editor and a complicated process. We may add the deduction in our next release, until then you can use FMRTE to reduce the points.

I'm playing as Waltham Abbey, started in evo-stick D1 and have won promotion through Evo stick premier to BSN. I'm having trouble with the club reputation at the moment which is obscure. Every other team in the BSN/BSS is local, and therefore it's very hard to attract good players to my club. I downloaded FMRTE to see the actual club rep.-numbers and I discovered that mine is at 965 while the other teams is between 1500 - 1900. Even the newly-promoted teams has a higher reputation than my club even though I've been in the BSN for 3-4 seasons. So, anyone else experienced this? It may be worth mentioning that I've been having financial crisis after the board decided to build a new stadium, putting ourselves in debt and under administration. Well....bug?

Thank you for your quick answer. I am using your file. Evo-stik D1 = level 8. I know about this feature, however, it is the extremely low club reputation that bothers me. Right now I'm having a club reputation as if I still would've played in level 8, but in reality plays in level 6. It is as if my club reputation has been reset after the takeover and the introduction of a new chairman.

Have you had successive promotions? If so the game is behaving as it should as realistically it would take longer than a couple of seasons for the reputation to grow to that level.

EDIT: Just seen you said you'd been in the league for 4 seasons...you'd need to ask SI if being taken over can affect your reputation. Maybe if a club has bad owners the reputation might fall as they may cause the club to go under.

Also the stadium may have an impact...the other clubs may have had adequate stadia and so there would be no need for them to upgrade.

There shouldn't be any problems but we haven't tested this much, we know it will remove the smaller cups and leagues but we're not aware of any issues. Save using another file name just in case.

Can't remember what version of your databse I'm running, think it might be 6.1 but not certain. Is it possible to fix it myself?
