Surely Gazza must have the (in)famous reputation of a international footballer? :). He is anything but obcure...

Otherwise, looking forward to it.

I thought about giving him international footballer status, but then I looked to see what the real Gazza entry had as his ratings, he had 2000 across the board.

This is probably a reflection of his failed previous attempts.

I am actually border line local, so expect that to appear on the next screen shot (assuming I last that long).

Last player being profiled, then screen shots on the way, takes ages, good job work is quite.

It looks like he will get to start some games as soon as he reaches a legal age to play in the league.

The coach report highlights that he is injury prone, which could hamper his development.

He has cracking physical attributes for a 15 year old

The coach report on Jones makes "interesting reading", I can safely say he is not close to his full potential.

Callum needs to start eating his spinach or get him self down to the gym if he wants to reach his potential.

I will have to be careful with his training, but it needs to push him in the fitness area.

How many positions can he play in!?!

I like the look of this player, he has a good scout rating and is only hampered by his concentration, I expect to use him as a sub a few times in the first season, as his versatility in positions makes him a good person to have on the bench.

Another player that Mike Harford thinks has reached his potential, note to self, get a better Ass Man who can judge player potential ASAP

One of the older players in the sign up, Dan has pretty impressive physical attributes which are let down by him sucking at everything else.

Maybe a spot of tutoring may help, at least he has 7 years of development to improve.

I let your name slide through because it is not blatantly obvious, but the fans chant should be interesting.

It is hard to find something to say about Soder, if you didn't know he was a -10 PA player you would never sign him, yet he has all the stats to become world class, it will be interesting to see him develop.

Looks good on paper and has no real weaknesses that time and training can not sort out.

A lack of concentration will keep him on the bench for most games.

I found him hiding in the first team, no idea why he thinks he is so special that he can ditch the youth squad.

18 year old Madridstas is an excellent player for his age, he will feature regularly as cover in the first season.

He needs some good aerobic training to raise his pace and acceleration into double figures.

It remains to be seen if he will reach his full potential when some of the other players have 3 years of development on him.

With a dirtiness of 17, an aggression of 16 and a score of 7 for sportsmanship I am expecting the CHOPPER to live up to his name. No prizes for guessing who will appear on the home page under the heading of Yellow Cards.

Apart from his anger issues (temperament is also only 8) Chopper has all the makings of a class midfield player.

Mat currently looks more suited to his Defensive position, which is backed up by his mini scout ratings.

Coach Report

Note the change of first name to protect my sanity.

Theo is a bit of a mystery, he has points spent in the correct places to be a future star, but that has left his important attributes for his position to be very low.

He also has a rating of 17 for dirtiness, which is dangerous for someone listing DC as one of their positions.

Give Theo a few years and he will be awesome, but until then, he will struggle to get into the side, which might harm his development.

Possibly a loan candidate?

It is good that Tom is a footballer and not a basket baller, because he can't jump for toffee.

Luckily he is a winger and those attributes should not harm his career too much.

Tom Proctor

Coach Report

Tom number 2 is yet another dirty defender, I can see a lot of games with us down to 10 men and the opposition getting penalties unless Gazza hits the discipline as hard as he hits the bottle.

"Sods law" states that our defender with the best concentration has 2 for marking.

Jonny Dean

Coach Report

At 20 years old Jonny is the oldest sign up player, this has also hurt his growth, he only has 4 to 5 years to grow into a decent player.

At least his older age means he can go onto a heavier training schedule, but his high injury rating may be a problem if he is over taxed.

I am not sure how he will grow, but it needs to be fast, maybe Jimmy Ffloyd can have a word with him?

Was the age intentional? I can knock a few years off him if you want?

I looks like someone has cloned a convict then sold them to a football club.

KUTGW

Do you like my clone army?

Now if any of you fancy creating your own training schedules for your players, please feel free to post them up here and I'll add them into the game.

A quickquestion. Will you be following the careers of the players that leave Luton? I assume you will but everyone knows what assume means.

If any of the players dare leave, I will hunt them down and kill them...... erm, I mean of course I will follow their career.

I will also attempt to get them back to Luton in the future.

I intend to involve the sign up people as much as possible, so you get to decide if your player wants to go on loan rather than stay and not play first team football. You can choose your own squad number for life and your own training schedule.

You also get ultimate say over leaving the club when offers come in or me fighting to keep you there, even if that makes you unhappy.

I have currently offered every one pre contracts (or new contracts if they are old enough).

I am also surprised at how craptastic a lot of the old Luton team is, a few more of you will be starting than I originally expected.

Yay for being one of the best players. Boo for having photobucket blocked here at work. :thdn: I'll have to check out the screenies when I get home.

I call dibs on #3 if no one else has called it.

Was trying to think of a good picture, but I never could find one I liked that wasn't too silly.

As I don't have FM08 installed currently (recently reformatted my hard drive), I'll leave the training up to you.

Boo, stamina 1. Never going to get around that am I. Guess I'll be a useful substitute but I'll never last a full game i think. No particular concerns on training, just crank up on the Strength/Aerobics training early on so it might as well improve a little bit.

Brilliant, can play in pretty much any defensive position. Should be a handy player to have on the bench then.

I have no idea about training so won't be doing my own schedule. Since shirt number 3 has already been taken I'll request 33 then.

Season 07/08 friendlies reports

Luton 0-2 Southampton

Gazza opened up is management account with a home game against Championship side Southampton. Despite shading the game on possession and shots Southampton emerged as 2-0 victors, thanks mostly to a fantastic performance from their keeper and strike force.

The team played well, but a poor performance by Claudio Sanchez earned him a rating of 5. Tom Smith opened his account with the first yellow card of the sign up.

The only other point of note was an injury to Yohann Pieterzoon in his 49th minute of his début. Yohann will be out for 4 to 6 weeks with a sprained ankle.

Stranraer 1-5 Luton

Luton then travelled to Stranraer who play in the third tier of Scottish Football. Stranraer scored in the first minute before Luton dominated the game and scored 5 to emerged worthy winners. Tom Crawford and Jonathan Soder got on the score sheet.

Crawley 0-2 Luton

A Blue Square Premier team were next to host Luton. Luton never got into top gear and cruised to an easy win. Jimmy FLoyd Hasselbaink getting 2 to make it 4 goals in 3 games.

Luton 0-1 Leicester

League 1 side Leicester were too much for Luton and never looked in danger of losing.

Porthmadog 0-3 Luton

The excellent named Welsh side Porthmadog were next, Luton won with ease, but disastrously lost, 5 goals from 5 games, top scorer Jimmy Floyd to injury in the 33rd minute. Jimmy is out for 5 weeks with a fractured arm after a tumble in the box.

Dan Gleballs and Jon Soder took up the slack and scored one a piece.

Stafford 0-5 Luton

The final game of pre-season was a trip to a team 2 leagues below them. Luton went into half time 5-0 up after a goal from Callum McCarthy and 2 each from Jon Soder and Robert Dawson.Tom Crawford was devastating in this game and got 2 assists from his many brilliant crosses. Luton switched off in the second half and never looked under pressure.

The season proper now starts, surprisingly Gazza has decided to open the season with most of his youngsters, relying on the experience of his 2 player coaches to pull the team through.

Squad at start of season to face Chester at home.

Can I have the number 11 please, if not then 14.

the team looks good, good to see I'm on the starting line-ups

will I be playing at AMC this season?

then I would like the attacking traning stuff to be set higher.

thanks and KUTGW!

Looks like we got ourselves a good side. Hope some of the youngsters get a look-in too though (come on, cletus for GK!)...

Season has started so your numbers have been assigned, sorry. I will post your tailored training when I alter it, so you can review it. Your turning into a right little long distance goal machine as you will see in the reports.

Am I playing on the Reserve/U18-team?

When does Pagliuca's playercontract expire? He seems to keep me out of the 1st-team-squad. He's over 40 years old - shouldn't he concentrate on coaching....

Cletus Spuckler

Paglica is going to keep both the sign up GK out of the first team for this season, to be fair neither of you are up to League 2 level. As it works at the moment you are being tutored by him and the other GK is in the first team as back up and will be the one getting some games. Next season this should change. I do promise to play you both in some easier games, so far the cup draws have not been kind.

Can I have #1 please. :p

If not - 17.

Thanks.

Will you do a sort of monthly roundup or something which'll tell us all how many we played etc.?

Numbers already assigned last night, sorry.

I was going to do up dates every 6 months and list the key games, this changed last night. I play each match in full detail so a month takes a few hours, in addition the first 5 matches of the season have been important. So I will now do monthly updates.

teaser, if we didn't start on -30 points we would be flying high in the league

The squad is the 3 player/coaches and 9 youth players rotating through, because some of them are under the age of 16 this has caused me a shortage in certain positions. Notably I am short of left sided defenders and attacking midfielders. I may look at retraining some of the players, we seem to have a large amount of Midfield/defenders, as usual I will check before this happens.

We do have one complete turkey in the squad who I have offered on loan, nobody wants him. Hopefully the board will get their finger out of their backside and give respond to my feeder club request so I can send him out on loan. To be honest he needs to be made younger as he is 20 and only has the same PA as the 15 and 16 year old players.

August Season 07 Key Matches and Events

League Game: Luton 5-0 Chester

First match of the Season sees Luton at home to Chester in a game they are expected to win. In 7 minutes Claudio Sanchez becomes the first sign up player to score, with an absolute screamer from 25 yards out. Haowan becomes the first player to score from a free kick on the 23rd minute, but it is a complete fluke that was supposed to be a cross into the box. Soder scores on the 43rd minute afer a fantastic cross from Griffiths-Smith. Dan Gleballs comes on at half time for the tired looking Soder and immediately gets an assist after a back pass to Giovanni in the first 45 seconds. Gleballs seems scared to shoot and constantly passes back out of the box until the 83rd minute when he gets some space and blasts one into the top left corner.

To say Luton dominated is an understatement, they had 26 shots at goal with 9 on target, Chester could manage only 1 shot in 90 minutes. 11 of the 14 Luton players scored 8.

An impressive start to the season.

Carling Cup First Round: Luton 3-1 Colchester

Luton were drawn at home against a team one league above them and were expected to lose. Gazza named an unchanged side and with in 4 minutes that faith was repaid when Haowan blasted the ball in from 25 yards out. A succession of corners final earned Luton a second goal, Crawfords cross into the box was picked up by a Colchester defender who was quickly disposed by Man of the Match Soder who then buried the ball in the back of the net.

Luton went in at half time 2 goals up with out reply and the home crowd were jubilant. Colchester decided to turn up for the second half and despite constant pressure they found them selves 3-0 down after substitute Gleballs nodded in a Crawford cross. Colchester managed a consolation goal in the 3rd minute of extra time.

Another stunning performance by the Hatters with the defence earning their money this match as both teams were tied on possession and shots. On another day this could of been a very different result.

League Game: Port Vale 1-1 Luton

The second league game of the season was a scrappy affair against highly rated Port Vale. This game was notable because manager Gazza sent the first half cheering on the wrong team after getting confused over Luton's away strip. Port Vale earned a draw after a very dubious penalty was awarded by referee Scott Mathieson. Soder was awarded his second man of the match award.

League Game: Luton 1-0 Bournemouth

Also know as the blood bath, this game saw the return of Jimmy Floyd who was injured after 33 minutes and an injury to Haowan saw them both replaced at half time. Nakano made his starting début and was injured on 60 minutes (he was left on 1% condition, which I have never seen before) and was substituted even though he could continue to play. Luckily all 3 players were not injured long term.

Carling Cup Second Round Plymouth 4-2 Luton

Plymouth ply their trade in the Championship and were the book makers clear favourites, the home crowd were stunned into silence when Haowan scored a free kick that flew into the top right corner from 40 yards out, the Plymouth GK never saw the ball until he picked it out of the onion bag. Plymouth turned up the pressure and the young Luton squad crumbled. The final score was a good reflection of the two teams performances and Luton were out of the Carling Cup.
