West ham will be the hardest of this set if 3. Game raising dicks.

Wonder if Rooney will play in centre mid again before the end of the season. I like him there and think he could become really good.

Anderson not even on the bench. At home in bed again.

Nani too; with Valencia the only winger in the squad and having a(nother) stinker :(

Phil Jones positional sense today has been very good, was not bad against City except for the Aguero goal.

Was excellent bar the goal imo. Funny to think back to this time last season and some people had serious doubts as to whether he had the mentality but he's matured a ridiculous amount in just one year. Consistency is coming on leaps and bounds too.

Rooney is not our Midfield solution, do not fuel this idea in the head of SAF Gary Neville. Alan Smith says hello
Smith and Rooney are completely and utterly incomparable when it comes to ability to play in midfield. Not disagreeing with the point you are making, just the manner in which you make it :D

People always think of Benfica Alan Smith and not Chelsea Alan Smith, where he was excellent and MotM. Said himself was that the problem with him playing in midfield was that he didn't know what to do or where to go when we had the ball - a specialist destroyer happy with a bit part role to come into games against top sides would be really useful right now. The Rooney case is similar in that it should be tailored to the right occasion - if we're playing against weaker sides when his job will be primarily to maintain the tempo and distribute the ball quickly and accurately to spread the play, while pinching it back quickly when we lose possession, then he's fine in there, particularly as he'll always be liable to pop up with a goal or two. Also offers us flexibility of switching to a wide or attacking role later on.

Disgusting picture. Don't really understand why so seemingly many keep chanting about Munich and showing terrible behaviour like that. It's been a few years, you know. Maybe come up with something else?

Would be nice if they went down because they play terrible football, and if they continue like they have recently they probably will. If only Wigan can repeat their usual end-of-season heroics. 10 points in the last 5...

Btw, fun fact. Our away record (12-2-2) is better than the home record of all the other teams. City can admittedly pass our away record, but as of right now they have 11-3-1. Despite the derby loss, we also have the best home record.

We are so **** :(

Sean McGinty is back with us, Tranmere terminated his loan. Signed a new contract as well apparently:

Alex Ferguson will summon Sean McGinty for crunch talks at Manchester United this week after Tranmere Rovers cut short the Irish U21 defender’s loan stay for disciplinary reasons.

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore revealed the news after dropping the 19-year-old for Saturday’s League One defeat to Hartlepool.

After recently handing the rookie a one-year contract extension, Ferguson wanted the full-back to spend the rest of the season gaining experience at Prenton Park. Yet that plan has been halted after just three matches.

It’s not the first time McGinty has landed himself in trouble off the pitch. A year ago, the Londoner received an 18-month ban from driving for being convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Would not like to be him when he gets called into Sir Alex's office. On a better note, the U21s are beating Spurs 1-0 with a couple of minutes left. Januzaj has been excellent as the lone striker, held the ball up really well despite being up against two very physical centre-backs, one of whom is Zeki Fryers. Looks like he's grown a few inches and bulked up a bit too. Tunnicliffe with our goal.

Edit- finished 1-0

He lost a good half-year from the Belgium "won't pay United anything" shenanigans, so maybe that played some part. He wasn't all that great to begin with, but he didn't impress me either. Only saw the last half hour though, as I got home then. Good win by the kids, and Januzaj really looks a player. Every time I see him play, even at reserve level (and Adnan is young), he is either the best bloke on the pitch, or near enough. It speaks highly of him and his abilities. I'm hoping he will get a cup outing next season, or go on the summer tour. Perhaps a bit too early for him as he isn't done developing physically yet, but he is so talented I don't think he would look out of place.

Hopefully he gets some more matches before the season ends. But unfortunately I think he will call it a day, for real. He has struggled with injuries for much of the season, and that can't be fun. Hasn't played as much as he probably wants when fit either. If he does retire at the end of the season, I hope he will go back into the coaching team and get a career via that. Must be a goldmine to have a guy like that around the youth teams.

Seems like Rio wants to take another year, which is good news. He has been excellent this season.
