Pavel Pogrebnyak
Their board seems to intervene and accept almost any bid you make for their star players
peter-evo
Maybe because they have some stars but not an unlimited amount of money.
Pavel Pogrebnyak
Maybe because they have some stars but not an unlimited amount of money. But they are very rich, owned by a Russian billionaire i believe. And look in real life they are playing hard ball with Arsenal over Arshavin
trekman
I think peter-evo is probably right. Zenit are probably not all that wealthy and their board are probably thinking of the finances. Alternatively it could be just that you have an interfering chairman and thats why the accept bids over your head.
schweddy
I noticed that too. I bought Pavel Pogrebnyak for only 2.5 mill for Hull even though he was valued at 4.3 mill. He scored 26 goals that season, well worth it.
Zoulpain
Maybe the chairman could be tweaked in the next patch.
Celts1888
But they are very rich, owned by a Russian billionaire i believe. And look in real life they are playing hard ball with Arsenal over Arshavin They are owned by gazprom and gazprom is majority owned by the russian government. AbsoluteGenius
Their players are actually overrated. Zenit had easy opposition in the UEFA Cup final.
JD nawrat
Zenit are the richest club in eastern Russia - Fact. They are not poor, not by any stretch of the imagination. There players aren't overrated, by much. Tymoshuck, Danny and Arshavin are brilliant players. LOL at the above post. Are you a complete muppet? They played Bayern in the semi's, and Rangers in the final. Werder, Fiorentina, Sporting and Panathinaikos were put out by Rangers. Rangers were on great form last season... Do us all a favour, and stop the silly inputs, please. Did Zenit have easy opponents in the Super Cup?
sexy69
zenit are good! arshavin is quality. zenit want more than TEN MILLION for him right now. thats not really being ridiculous. in the game if you bid 14.5 or so you get a bid accepted for him. im assuming if arsneal go that high they will probably get him too. so in that sense its quite realistic. Zico
From what I gather, Gazprom are not immune from the economic crisis, and perhaps are less willing to splash around the cash.
RADOI
unfortunately the answer is: because fm09 in nowhere close to reality.

Considering we (Spurs) offered around £18-20m for him 6 months ago and had our offer turned down, I doubt they would get him for that much.

sexy69
well now zenit have to lower the price since he has demanded a move and his value has gone down since his last 6 months have been average and im sure his contract is eventually running down. and well, you are spurs and they are arsenal. iamjerome
arshavin might be overrated to anyone who thinks his excellent ability has only been displayed in the euros: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IIRxxurh0xg&feature=related the first minute or two should show why his creativity is so highly valued. SmurfDude
When the likes of Robbie Keane get sold for 20million then it's fair to say some of the zenit players are undervalued

hursty2
I don't know about why but I've just signed Pavel Pogrenbnyak for Man Utd for 11,500,000 mill but the board accepted it not the manager
AcidBurn
Pogrebnyak is easy to get loan the in the first season with option to buy of £3 million. It seems strange to me that all their players can be bought, I also think maybe they should have sugar daddy ticked if they are so rich in real life.
