Poll: Choice of match engine and what we love about it

Just thought I would create a poll today.

Well the poll is about the match engine.

How many of us use the 2D match engine which leaves much to our imagination??

How many of us use the ever improving 3D engine???

Do any of us alternate between the above two???

Or are there some of us who dont bother going to the match and ask our ass man to take care of the proceedings??

Also please comment what you like about your choice.

i have always played the game with just commentry , usualy play with 3d for few days when game comes out but get bored of it pretty quickly

3D for important matches and 2D for league matches.

my god..no way can i go back to the 2d dots!!!

Can't watch in any other form than 3D, watching in 2D would be like watching a non HD TV channel, and commentary would be like watching in black and white

3D - It's much easier to understand what's going on

I personally love the 2D engine coz it leaves so much to our imagination.

After playing other football games, using the 3D engine seems a bit weird.

I do view the game in 2D classic though. Partly because my 3D rating is only one star, partly because I simply prefer the 2D classic.

3D for the first few seasons then commentary only, but 3D for big matches.

I know. I was a picky knob to be honest - a failing of mine that rears its ugly head too often.

I watch in 2D all the time - computer copes better, and I feel you get a better idea of what's going on in the match and who's doing what, with the 2D one - better tactically.

3D Match Engine.

The 3D match "viewer" seems to be favoured by more people.......

3D until I feel it is boring and repetitive and then I make the switch back to 2D

I must say the 3D engine for FM12 looks very nice indeed. But it's less impressive on FM10, which is the version I play, so I remain loyal to the 2D on it.

I see this alot, and really don't get it, why do you want things left to your imagination? You wouldn't watch a real match with no picture just to imagine something different going on, unless you support Blackburn

I understand it to be honest. Not the best of comparisons because 2D isn't no picture at all. I just don't think the 3D match engine is quite good enough yet, although it's obviously making massive progress, and I prefer to watch the 2D one because a) the imagination aspect and b) it's easier to track what players are making mistakes, doing what they should be without getting distracted by various graphics and camera angles.

Because the 3D animations are not believable enough. 2D obviously shows less detail so your mind fills in the gaps and the goals you see as well as the general play looks just like real players playing real football in your head. Whereas in 3D you see ugly, clunky animations that don't properly match the situations which they're supposed to represent. For me this totally destroys the believability aspect.

2d classic. It is superior in every way and any attempt to dispute that only proves the frustration of those who do not use it.

2D...might go to 3D in 2021 though.

I've only gotten the game yesterday, but I've used 2D exclusively thus far. I like being able to see the entire pitch. Also, after playing Fifa all my life, the 3D graphics look ugly to me, whereas the 2D dots just look nice and clean.

Feel very much the same. I like the old school commentary. Champ Manager like it should be. No point in having rubbish 3D graphics. With same things shown over and over.

I'm using 2D and always will.
