Once you've updated FM to the newer version 13.1.3 is there anyway of reverting back to the older versions when your using steam?

I've been having lots of luck with this too. Playing as Liverpool... I'm not dominating possession any more, but still winning 2-0, 3-1 a lot.

My goal difference in the league last season was 142-19. Got some very quick wingers and they are creating and scoring lots of goals.

I think with the new ME you just have to accept you cant stop the goals and just make the teams tactic organised and as defensively sound as possible...

I think the big difference this time is the ME is much more balanced, and chasing that 100 plus league goals per season means you will end up also conceding a few too. I don't think its possible to have the kind of set ups seen in past FM's where a side would score 125 league goals and concede just 25 or 30, and the best tactics are likely to have less players with higher mentalities and lots of forward runs, and more doing defensive work.

Any tactic that helps you win more than you lose and scores a steady stream of goals whilst keeping a few clean sheets can be described as a good tactical set up. Those chasing the holy grail super tactic are only going to get frustrated as far as I can see.

I have tweaked it to be honest made it into a 4-1-2-1-2 , I have made a few other adjustments too as i felt it was abit lapse at the back but so far so good, 6 wins out of 6 scored 18 conceded 4 with Middlesbrough

Well i'm currently on a 13 game unbeaten run with my Newcastle side Winning 9 drawing 4 scoring 31 but conceded 12 thats good and if Dave has tweaked this i am hoping for good stuff maybe find out tomorrow

Played 4 won 4 with my Forrest side. Seems to be as effective as Houghs original on the last patch. So far anyway.

the sc i like speed because they sit on the last def so if the have good acc speed that helps (zaha has been great & he is only 11 for finishing)

the am role is the most important i reckon needs a good first touch, passing,creativity r i use barkley/kagawa

the 2 mc i like to use guys that can would be good in the DM roll as they defend &attack

if your having trouble scoring i tend to swap the 2 sc

Thank you. I am actually having quite good results. Put this in with 8 games left of the season, and this is how it went in those games: 5-2-1.

And this is without really having two fast strikers. I have played my regen who has got acc 17 and pace 16, who works fine, and then the other bloke is a AMC who is accomplished as a striker as well. Acc/pace is 12/12. I guess I should find a replacement for him.

i read all over the thread about tweaks made to ur tactic but in my opinion is very strong just the way it is

i began testing sessions with my atletico madrid side 2 days ago

by testing session i mean : new game started every time, tactic was fluid when the season started, players transferred by requirements, teamtalks by me (no major errors)

in one of the test sessions i even achieved park the bus (against barca, chelsea, mallorca, zaragoza and zenit)

good results there especialy since one of the defeats is due to my mistake at halftime teamtalks (my hand slipped:p)

great game even though i lost

8 min missed pen, 29 min 0-1, 52 min modric sent off, 68 min miss another pen, 72 min 1-1, 78 1-2

as u can see i dominated the match, missed 2 penalty kicks, had an one man advantage in second period, had 4 ccc against their 2

and yet still managed to lose - that's football

my thoughts

great against tough opposition

struggles against low rep defensive teams (especially away)

great against 532 and 442....

I must admit that, despite the Diablo one, Hough tactics made me enjoy Football Manager in the last few years...

Thats because this tactic was for the previous patch, This current patch has made the tactic go abit tits up

I think it's gonna stay that way until a new patch comes out, doesn't seem to be much you can do to stop other times scoring with pretty much all of their chances, or even create enough consistent chances yourself.

To be honest if it was me then it'd be pretty annoying with the constant asking when it'll be ready.

I understand there's an anxiousness about getting the new one but we won't see it until it's been tested properly.
