Based on the Playlist, the Average age so far is ~41.69 years

I'm nudging that number up at 51. I didn't have kids either which probably explains why I have time and money for computer games.
A cautionary tale for the few youngsters in here.

There are 5 members older than you on the Playlist. So there is that.

It was great. I was 9 when they won the FA Cup in 1990 and it just exploded from there.

The only trophy I've seen Southampton win was the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in 2010 when we were in League One.  And that was awesome.

They were an absolute force to be fair. How Fergie managed to get so much out of them for so long is staggering. Our rivalry was forged out of a true competitive spirit too. Keane vs Vieira is a PL battle for the ages.

Unfortunately, with the way the takeover is going, I doubt anything like that'll happen any time soon again

Why does this thread turn silly around this time most days?

Noone cares who won what and who didnt.

Just something to post about as we cope with the fact that we will have to spend yet another day with no beta.

I don't know if you've had a happy meal lately...

I know it was a long time ago, so how about some more recent history:

Yeah, footy was very different back then anyway. You used to get patience, very few managers were sacked in a season. Most got a few years to build.

Arsenal Wenger wouldn’t know anything about real trophies. Such a long career and yet 0 European trophies.

One thing Wenger was right about though was the Chelsea takeover. He said it would open a can of worms and look what's happened. City with their dodgy sponsors, 115 charges and paying refs for a side hustle in UAE. PSG and Newcastle too. If only people paid more attention to him them instead of mocking him.

Unfortunately I tested this last week. Circa page 20. Was the same way

Unfortunately, no.

It sounds like an old person thing to say, but the game has gone in a lot of ways. What made the Arsenal vs Man Utd battle of the 90s and early 2000s so special in my opinion is the fact that it was a contrast in styles. One built around a core of British youth (Class of 92) and Wenger's continental imports. The fact now is it's just a TV/oil money driven arms race.

Sorry, apart from that period of time when Wenger actually wanted to win real trophies as opposed to mythical "top 4 trophies".

The new stadium killed us at the time. But that was also when Champions League money was so important. To be fair, getting some of those squads into the top 4 every year was nothing short of miraculous. And there's a few clubs now who would love a 22 year run of Champions League football. Us included.

Only trophy I've seen us win was also the Johnstone Paint trophy. Last season it was the proper trophy before they introduced the U23 teams.

I do, vividly. But like they say, you're only as good as your last game.

And if we can be thankful for anything, that result was what triggered the trolley dash that first brought Arteta to the club.
