  1. Holiday for one day it will clear the must respond and allow you to continue.
  2. I've just conceded 1 goal in 14 games in the A-League. I haven't scored many either, it's like watching paint dry and honestly I have zero idea why I have only conceded 0.24 goals per game this season.
  3. The club cultures are IMO essentially just cosmetic as you can ignore them entirely as long as you don't do anything stupid like make a promise to the board to play youth players. I say that because you can ignore them and as long as you win the board will just change the club culture entirely rather than admonish you for ignoring it. That's been my experience of them anyway.
  4. If VAR did it's job for once you would have done. I'm not bitter nope not at all 😂 I imagine we'd have competed with Rotherham to see who was worse had we gone up. I dread next season if Collins stays been an absolute shambles of a season where we've found ourselves in a false position based on performances for 3/4ths of a season and results have started matching in the last quarter IE been abysmal.
  5. I literally just lost the title on the last day having lost 2 of my last 4 games. I won 5-1 but the team I needed to draw or lose won 3-1 and I missed out by 2 points.
  6. Really been enjoying these files as a Kiwi. Used to play at a decent level in NZ about 15 years ago sad to see most of the teams I played against and the team I played for have disappeared along with the entire league I played in 😂. One quirk I've noticed is that players don't register they've won the national title. Clubs do, Managers do Players don't which is really weird. Also when. I used your OFC champions league file the teams from NZ just wouldn't join the competition at all. The game would say they'd qualified for the preliminary rounds then they'd never join and everyone from the preliminary rounds would qualify for the group stage. Works fine with the vanilla database OFC Champs league though.
  7. I'm not suggesting they should dumb the player experience down, I'm just doubting they'll ever make an AI anywhere near good enough to compete with humans.
  8. I've repeatedly said this is the most varied ME tactically we've ever had. I've used all sorts of setups from long ball to counter attacking to controlled possession and been somewhat successful with all of them.
  9. The difficulty with this as I say in the first bit of my post is creating an AI capable of competing with a human tactically with all the options now at our disposal. Until you can manage that which even though AI is supposed to make us all unemployed by next Thursday, is years off being even close to a reality, the idea of making the game harder naturally is a bit moot.
  10. I said this early on in FM24's cycle when people brought this up, the more options I as an experienced FM player get given tactically the more my advantage over the AI grows and the more room for "exploits" there are if playing against another human or the AI and the easier it gets to win. As awful as the sliders were back in the day they made the game way harder because there was some form of abstraction between my tactical ideas and implementing them. Now especially with positional play I can absolutely destroy the AI because the abstraction has gone with the new tactical interface and so has a lot of the limitations on defensive and attacking shape plus rest defence. Throw in the AI's struggles with squad building and transfers and I'm now lightyears ahead of it. I think the need to give players ever more tactical control they demand and close the exploits this creates in the ME is basically an impossible circle to close for SI. Not even touching on accessibility and keeping the game somewhat playable and fun for new players because you don't want people being put off by being absolutely destroyed every match they play straight off and or have to read 200 page tactical bibles just to win a game.
  11. It's Good Friday today which is a public holiday in the UK...as is Monday. So I'm not saying there's zero chance it's tofay what I'm actually saying is there's less than zero chance it's today.
  12. Get with the times George Graham was at Arsenal in the early to mid 90's which is 30 years ago now. There have been so many changes in modern football tactics wise, fitness wise, quality wise (IMO the direction of travel is arguably for the worse) and fairly importantly the amount of substitutes allowed. Hell even the Italians have largely abandoned cattenacio and Serie A is one the highest scoring leagues in Europe. The Prem this season is averaging 3.24 goals per season which is about 1 goal per game more than the mid-90's. I don't think FM would be far off this season overall.
  13. In layman's terms its "spaghetti code". I've been pretty critical of FM24 but have probably sunk more hours into it at this point than any other version. I love the ME I think it's by far the best we've had but find saves die via a thousand small cuts rather than any big failings the game has.
  14. AFAIK the Copa Do Brasil IRL is insanely complicated and doesn't work as it should in FM because not all of the competitions required for it to do so are even simulated within the game. I think IRL the Copa Libertadores teams plus the prior Brazilian winner of that comp and the Copa Suda Americana join at the third round plus as many teams required via league position (who qualified) to bring the total upto 10. Team qualification by CBF ranking (10 teams) Winning some state cups or Serie B (3 teams) Then the 70 best state championship teams also qualify with each state having a varied number of qualifiers. I'm actually really enjoying Brazil in FM there's a lot of instability in the league with big teams getting relegated basically every season. Lots of great youth talent coming through and the state championships are bonkers where you either can be playing an amateur side or the Copa Libertadores champions and everything in-between. Neymar returned to play for Botafogo and...they are probably getting relegated this season 😂 even though he always scores against me.
  15. It happened again! Same season as before the semi-final is against Bragantino who I play directly before the semi-final...this is now my 4th back to back cup match in 5 seasons and the 2nd this season alone! Weirdly enough Atletico Goianiense are the team I'm scheduled to play in the league the week before the final is scheduled and they are in the other half of the semis so what's the betting we both make it for another back to back match up!
  16. If anyone needs to touch grass and step away from their laptop or whatever you are using to post these messages it's you.
  17. Not that I've ever seen. I haven't ever reported it as an issue though it's always just been one of those things that I see a lot and mildly annoys me.
  18. Next season after I played Vasco 4 times in a row the very first round of the cup I can join it's happened again where I'm drawn against a side I'm playing in the league the very next match! Meaning this has happened 3 out of 5 seasons so far! There's obviously something in the code for cup draws that makes this happen because it happens way, way, way too often to be random chance!
  19. Two more things that grind my gears about FM and pull me out of the game just happened to me. Cup ties where you are drawn against someone who you are playing in the league the very next match! How many times does this happen IRL? In the 37 years I've been watching Barnsley I can't ever remember it happening. But on FM its a semi-annual occurrence. I just played Vasco da Gama 4 times in a row! Okay two of the matches were the Copa do Brasil final but I doubt any team has ever played another 4 times in a row. In fact I'm only 4 seasons into this save and this has happened to me twice already. Then the final went to penalties and you know what's coming yes its the endless penalty shootout! This one was 15 rounds. Again it happens IRL but nowhere near as often as it does in FM.
  20. The Improving facilities one is something that has for years consistently felt so "gamey". Clubs often don't make incremental improvements IRL they build massive new facilities that are state of the art for when the build them. Or are as good as the club can afford at the time. Whereas in FM you have to go field, field with a hut, field with a hut and gym equipment in the corner etc all the way upto state of the art facilities. The board should be able to just build whatever they are willing/able to if they want. Same with youth recruitment and coaching etc.
  21. It's a pretty universal truth that you aren't going to please everyone all of the time for a reason.
  22. I have no idea what that is but I've seen them use wide centre backs and both inverted fullbacks and inverted wingbacks. You are just flat out wrong with your assertion they can't use them.
