Please post any data issues related to England's EFL League Two here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for England's EFL League Two should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling, league table sorting rules and match rules.

The stadium of Bolton Wanderers is still Marcon Stadium ingame but changed the name about a year ago to University of Bolton Stadium.

The Bolton stadium is set as University of Bolton Stadium in the database and therefore in the game.

You must be using some out-of-date third-party database that is wrong.

The position of "General Manager" isn't a job we include in FM.

If Allman does any of the responsibilities that are available for backroom staff to perform in FM, please comment accordingly and we'll have to work out how to get him in. However, I suspect he doesn't do any of the responsibiltiies we have in the game. Otherwise, adding Allman to the database for a job we do not replicate in the game is just clogging up the game still further.

Diego Miller 2000048979, for Cambridge United U18s, has a couple of issues. Obviously not assuming you guys get a random 18 year old in a league two academy spot on so as one of his classmates from secondary school I can say he is actually more in the 6'1 - 6'3 range than 5'7. He also weighs a bit more than the database suggests but I couldn't give an exact number. He's lightskin black with short black hair.

Crawley manager John Yems (5100896) needs his history fleshed out a bit more

In 1992-94 he was Horsham player/manager

https://www.horshamfc.co.uk/2020/07/17/i-was-an-egotist-who-thought-i-was-going-to-win-the-european-cup/

In 1998 he was a coach at Dulwich Hamlet, leading the team in some friendlies

In 2003 he was a u18 coach at Millwall

He was previously a youth coach at Crystal Palace, but not sure when. I think it was around the same time as his roles at Fulham & Millwall.

In 2006, while being a coach, for a time he was caretaker manager at Crawley

In 2012 he was coaching at Gillingham

Any reason why Paul Ince isn't in Football Manager this year. Regularly talks about getting back into football and is still linked to manager jobs the most recent being Tranmere and Port Vale.

He is in it.

Or, put it this way, he's not not in it.

He is not a very good football manager, which may be why he's not getting much action in your save.

Can't include all of these as the database requires start and end dates for non-player histories. Thanks for the info through, I'll include as many of those as I can.

Paul Ince made a decent start at management particularly at MK Dons where he won the Football League Trophy, and promotion from League 2.  Blackpool also had there best start to the season in 50 years when he took over despite having a very small squad, its tough to work with limited finances.

He is wrongly classed as retired according to the database

He isn't marked as retired in the database. He hasn't had a job in football for over 6 years (according to his database history at least, and that job lasted 11 months after a 2 year lay off) which I imagine makes him a low priority for the game to activate when you start a save.

Maybe it's been changed for the update then because he's retired in current football manager 21 database editor. 1860349358_paulinceretiredscreenshot.thumb.png.133b3ac863f27c26f0ec68cda7bc140e.png

What would increase the likelihood? Bigger database size when you set up the game?.

I really wouldnt know, I tried a test new game with all English leagues loaded down to National Leagues N & S with a large database and he didnt show up in game.

What is interesting is the unique id alongside Paul Ince in Mr Ford's screenshot is not the one assigned to Paul Ince in the database (Tom Ince is correct, didnt check any others). THE Paul Ince is 2004544, there is no one assigned the number 2000066779 at all.

It's strange because i'm using the official database and havent made any changes is it a bug?

Paul Ince also isn't in Tom Inces favourite personel either at all which is strange.

We have Palios x2, Wanandi and Tolcher in the game already.

If you could explain what the point of adding those seven people would be, apart from the clog up the Staff screen, I'd be happy to read it.

Directors do absolutely nothing at all in the game apart from add to the size of the database. The size of the database is one of the biggest contributors to the speed of the game. OK, so it's only seven people, but what is the point of adding them, apart from looking. We know nothing about them apart from a name on that webpage, so can't even use their names for newgen naming purposes.

Note that the data lock for this 21.3.0 Winter Update was Monday 15th at 3pm. Therefore, Clarke's managerial move to Port Vale was after the data lock.

Clarke's move will appear in the expected second Winter Update, which caters for the late closing of the Russian and Chinese transfer windows (amongst others). Those windows close on 28th Feb, and that update will appear as soon as we can after that date.

OMG!

Yes it does.

Furman's Current Reputation was 103 in the release version of the game. We changed it to 95 to reflect his dropping reputation, but I made a typing error and it was recorded as 195 instead of 95! Hence his sky-high value, which takes CR as a factor in its calculation.

This has now been rectified for the final data update, thanks for spotting it.

There appears to be a typo in Lewis Butroid (Scunthorpe) DOB, according to Scunthorpe it should be 17/09/1998 instead of 16/09: https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/teams/first-team2/defender/lewis-butroid/

Also missing a loan with Spennymoor from 19/20 where he made four league appearances (no goals) between 10/01/2020 and 08/02/2020: https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scunthorpe-united-left-back-lewis-3726357

The database for the final update was Monday 1st March. Anything that happened after that date is too late for inclusion in the update, which is due "when it is ready".

We do not wait for any speculative event to happen to launch any update. That simply isn't how it works.

Does it usually take up to 2 weeks after the cut off to get the update out? This one seems like a longer delay than normal!

I'd imagine SI are also trying to fix some bugs to include with the update- on the known issues thread there's a few that need to be fixed (one in particular for me!!)

Bill Garner is no longer a youth team coach at Southend.  I popped him into the game when I was the Southend Researcher way back in 2009 but he left the club a good 8 years ago now.  I did let the Southend Researcher know on another forum a year or 2 ago but he's still in there.

I've just started my yearly Grimsby save and noticed a few issues (being a fan of them...)

Ben Davies is down as U23 manager. Initially when he joined that was going to be his role, but it's now more of a first team coach, and then his secondary job is U23 manager. He's still down as a player, but rated at 3*. I suggest this should be lowered as he's now 39 and won't be as good as he was a few years ago.

Ollie Battersby's loan at Mickleover Sports and Lincoln United are missing. https://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/news/2020/january/harry-cardwell-and-ollie-battersby-seal-short-term-loans/ https://www.gateshead-fc.com/news/ollie-battersby-joins-on-loan-2592491.html

Callum Lester is down as being the Assistant Manager despite never doing that role. Chris Doig is the current assistant manager, and Callum Lester is the U18 assistant manager.

Dominic Antoine's position is down as wrong: https://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/teams/youth-team/defender/dominic-antoine/

He is set as Player/Manager (u23 team) and has a secondary job as coach (first team) which seems to cover all the areas you mentioned. However, that secondary job does not appear to be in game - that must be a bug as it is set in the data. There must be a bug relating to a secondary job for someone with a player/non-player first job. It's been logged, though that will (of course) be for next year.

He was also rated (by Current Ability) as Grimsby's 22nd-best player, so it's not as if he is rated as essential and someone that must be selected. That all said, it is probably 5 CA points too high.

Thanks Dean, I thought that it didn't seem right. Agree with Ben Davies should be lowered a bit more as I suspect that hasn't changed in the last few seasons.

Although no longer with the club, Josh Gray (2000056266) is missing his player history including two years spent at Cambridge United

"Josh started out as a full-time apprentice at Cambridge United Football Club. He spent two years with the league 2 side and has also played in academies at Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Ipswich Town and Stevenage."
