PaulHartman71
An extremely nervy final, with both us and Bayern being cautious throughout. I thought for sure that it would go to the dreaded extra-time and penalties, but then in the 92nd minute, Talajic broke free on the right hand side and stuck in a cross which substitute Matias Gonzalez got on the end of. He's been a bit part player this season and hasn't contributed all that much, but what a time to grab a winner! I'm over the moon to have finally pulled off the Champions League with Wolfsburg, which is my 3rd Champions League in my career.

PaulHartman71
Season 44 (W)olfsburg We won the Champions League which makes this my best season at Wolfsburg by far. A frustrating loss in the German Cup which prevented a treble, but our cup disappointment was extinguished by that Champions League win. Great to win yet another Bundesliga too of course. Squad pt 1,pt 2 GK - Miguel Garcia continued to put in good performances in his 2nd season at the club. DR - Marc Yannick Broker reclaimed first choice RB this season, with the 21 year old putting in numerous impressive performances throughout the campaign. DL - Ahmet Guler was one of few ever presents this season and did very well in his 2nd season at the club. DC - Viktor Budai and Sam Lawrence continued their defensive partnership, with Lawrence again particularly impressing. DM - Julian Clement had another very pleasing season at DM. MC - Nozomo Matsuura was not quite as good as last season, but he still did well. I may look to get a replacement for him this summer if we have lots of money. AMR - Wolf Bruneel had an absolutely brilliant season, with 22 goals and 27 assists in 51 appearances. He's a very impressive talent and one of our best players. AML - Maurice Gutzeit had a very impressive first season back at Wolfsburg, with 24 goals and 19 assists in 38 games. CAM - Paul Diallo had another very good season at CAM. The 31 year old put in a heap of match winning performances throughout the campaign. ST - Ivan Talajic had an out of this world season, with 51 goals and 18 assists in 52 games, which helped see him win World Player of the Year - fully deserved of course. PaulHartman71
I'm on the verge of signing this guy, if for nothing else, for having the greatest regen name I've ever seen. It's right up there with Grant Grant for best in the save.
PaulHartman71
Summer Transfers Matias Gonzalez never managed to break into the first team and so when Montpellier came in with an offer that would give us a tasty profit on him, it was a no brainer. He did provide the goal that sealed the Champions League for us though, so for that he will always be remembered at Wolfsburg. Kadeem Miggins also left for peanuts after barely featuring during his time here. Ruud Kant was the signing of the summer. I think it took 3 extra days to sign him because my Director of Football thought I was calling him a rude c*** for a few days, before finally realizing I wanted to sign this guy. He is an excellent player and should slot straight into the centre of our midfield. I also managed to bring back Vincenzo Vandel who I let go a few seasons ago. Lazio have for some reason not really been playing him all that much and he was unhappy about it, when I saw I could get him for just £30M I absolutely jumped at the chance. Jannik Kempe joins us too, with the young German DM providing a great back-up to Clement, whilst also possessing the potential to edge him for a starting spot soon rather than later. We also signed the experienced Evandro Leite, who despite being in his early 30's and approaching the end of his career, is still a very talented player and could well be our new starting RB for a year or two. PaulHartman71
August We somewhat avenged our German Cup final defeat by comfortably beating Hertha 4-0 to claim the German Super Cup. Our first trophy of the season and hopefully the first of many! Montpellier proved tough opposition, but we managed to beat them 3-2 to win the European Super Cup. Two trophies in two games A very comfortable start to the Bundesliga, with two very hefty wins.

PaulHartman71
September A positive start in the Champions League, with a 3-0 win against the Norwegians. A pretty good draw in all honesty. Benfica may give us a problem or two, but we should really top this group with ease. A really poor month by our standards. We beat Osnabruck, but apart from that we dropped points 3 times against Hamburg, Hertha and Schalke. You can maybe excuse dropping points at Schalke away, but the other games we should be winning. Down in 3rd for now /o\

PaulHartman71
October A decent win away to Nurnberg. We've had an absolute mare here A really bad performance in Italy and then an equally displeasing game in Benfica - we were lucky to get a point against Benfica really. Those games have really not helped us. We now face an uphill battle to qualify and top the group 11-0 ffs Hoffenheim were dreadful. It was like watching a friendly against a lower league side your affiliated with. That will go some way in helping us get the goal scoring record though. We have at least claimed the Bundesliga record for most goals scored in a match, as well as breaking our own goal scoring record in a match. It seems mad to say you didn't have a great month considering one of your matches was an 11-0 win, but losing to Dortmund really won't do us much good. 5 points behind an undefeated Bayern, with that Dortmund defeat putting us 4 behind them /o\
PaulHartman71
November A good win against Benfica and a resounding victory against Molde has got our campaign back on track. We now have a winner takes all match with Palermo in our final match. It will be interesting for sure as you'd certainly expect Benfica to beat Molde and end up on 11 points, which would make things very complicated if we draw. Another decent month of results marred by a poor loss. The Koln defeat has set us back a few more points and put us down to 4th! We're only 5 points behind Bayern but we're set to miss out on a few matches with the Club World Cup coming up, so we will have even more of an uphill struggle to topple the other sides. PaulHartman71
December There was a lot of pressure on us in this game with Palermo, but we comfortably beat them on the night to top the group in the process. Never in doubt We only had 1 match in the Bundesliga this month due to World Club Cup commitments, but we made it a win, with Ruud Kant grabbing the winner. Due to the 3 games in hand we've fallen down to 5th. Our Bundesliga streak is really looking in serious jeopardy at this point! The World Club Cup didn't prove to be too much of a test for us, with not even Chivas in the final offering us much of a game. I'm pleased to have won it though as it's only the 2nd time I have done so - it also means we have 3 trophies this season before Christmas
PaulHartman71
We have yet another World Player of the Year winner. Wolf Bruneel, the Wolf of Wolfsburg, has now won himself the biggest individual prize in football. Ivan Talajic had to settle for 2nd this time. Gutzeit joined Bruneel in the Team of the Year, with Talajic strangely only making the bench despite being the overall runner up?
PaulHartman71
January We only had two matches this month, but we made sure to start 2059 with two victories. Greuther Furth gave us much more a match than I would've expected, but Vandel's brace made sure we won. We're still only 4th now, but if we win our games in hand we can go straight up to 2nd. Bayern will take more work - we still have to play them twice though, so there's plenty of points to win (or lose).

Win all your games from here and you will definitely be champions. It's a tall order, but go for it!

PaulHartman71
February An absolutely shocking result which puts an end to our dreams of retaining the Champions League An excellent month in the league though with 7 wins out of 7, including big game victories against Bayern Munich and Schalke. We also put 7 past Hamburg which was particularly pleasing. We're back where we belong \o/

My ideal plan is to "complete" my game by winning the Greek, Russian and Dutch leagues with my final 3 clubs, as that would mean I would've won all the top divisions in the leagues I originally loaded. That being said, the longer I'm waiting for Xanthi, the more and more tempting Switzerland will become
PaulHartman71
March We were all but out after losing the away leg 4-0, but believe it or not we did go for it against Montpellier in the 2nd leg. The goals just wouldn't come, we had the chances and did play well, but we were denied by the post, bar and very impressive saves from the Montpellier keeper. We might be world champions now but we're no longer the European champions. This match was a bit of a weird one. It was very hit and miss for much of it, but then Bayern had a man sent off on the hour mark and that completely changed the game - we dominated them from then on and finished them off with 3 late goals, including a deserved penalty. A decent month in the league, although I really wasn't impressed by the 2-1 loss at RB Leipzig. That defeat didn't really cost us though as we're still 5 points clear of Bayern. We have 7 games to snatch that goals record, we need 19 to draw it and 20 to beat it. We've got a few tricky games left like Koln at home and Bayern away which will still be a massive game in deciding the title.
PaulHartman71
April A pretty dull affair with Leverkusen in the Quarter, but a brace from Talajic secured a place in the Semi. This away trip to Stuttgart was far from dull, with a Talajic hat-trick booking us a spot in the Final. 3 big wins here which has really helped both of title credentials and our bid to get that goal scoring record. It's worth noting though that we do still have to play Bayern. If they beat us they could really put themselves back in with a chance at the title if we slip up elsewhere. PaulHartman71
May In what was a repeat final of last year, Hertha Berlin have only gone and beaten us again ffs We actually dominated this one and should have won, but we couldn't finish them off and it went to penalties. We both took 7 penalties and had a few saved or fire wide, but ultimately it was Gokhan Demir, a young forward for us who missed the penalty which cost us. A far from ideal end to the season, with Bayern Munich comfortably beating us at their place. We also dropped points on the last day of the season at Paderborn. Did it cost us the title? Not quite! Bayern drew away to Schalke in the final game of the season. If they'd scored just 1 more goal and Paderborn had found a winner against us they would've won it though, which really does show you just how close it was in the end this year. But in the end we did enough to win the Bundesliga, as well as claim the goal scoring record with 110 goals, beating the previous record for
