Anybody else testing this version? I was using the 4-2-3-1 Ballista with good success but like everyone else found the defence to be too leaky. I have only used the defensive version for a few matches and I am still undecided. We are fluid on everything except Mentality which is still Awkward. I think this explains why we are still leaking goals and our passing often hits the backs of our own players. I will update once all is fluid and we have played a few more games. My latest result was beating Man Utd 8-1 at home, and whilst a great result, it's just silly. I'm first in the league, and I've scored double the amount of goals than the 2nd placed team. This is a great tactic - although you definitely ship goals - but it's just TOO good for me to keep using... Sadly though I rush through seasons, I don't have time to fanny about and watch games to see if my tactics are working (they weren't so I had to use the Balista) so not quite sure what to do next! My right back is only 22 and my left back 26. So it's a young defence so I know in the future it will be far tighter. But tbh, it does heavily rely on corners to score the first goal, before the tactic becomes effective during the game. Collzy Posted February 17, 2012 Share Posted February 17, 2012 Been using the 4-2-3-1 as my "Home tactic" and Marcelo's Fuss tweaked as my away tactic to devastating effect. Usually always keep it on defensive positioning as I have full confidence in my ability to at least score one goal regardless of the opponent, its my defence that lets me down. So defensive positioning to at least attempt to cut down the goals I leak, end of the day 1-0 is still 3 points, but both these tactics always seem capable of scoring 4-5 aha.. The way to go in fm2012 it seems is to attack,it will reward you more even as small team and parking the bus tactics doesnt work so well because bigger teams will crush you anyway and u loose very much from offensive threat wich will encourage opossition atack u even more(ai updates his tactic every minute like a maniak). If i'm a poor team i put it on defensive positioning average . if you are top team eg Manchester United, Barcelona i use no specific average focus during the season. This means that a separate tactic must be used for finals of any competition. I would also use another tactic for away games against madrid/barcelona. Other than that i found the 4222 tweak to be pretty much unbeatable. Scored 140+ goals in the league Hernandez scored 90 goals in all comps Rooney scored 51 goals in all comps neymar scored 20 goals in all comps damiao scored 20 in all comps Modric got about 49 assists and my wingers neymar and di maria got 20+ or so assists aswell. Won the league, fa cup, league cup, community shield, and champions league ( though i used W4nker's tweak of Hough rolls back the years for the champs league final) Yes my team is strong, because I am well into my career.
