Although Holland are ranked 3 in the world by FIFA and won all their group matches in the qualifying group we have a chance of getting at least a draw. We don’t fear them. We must be able to beat Japan although they are an unknown team to us and against Cameroon, the highest ranking African team, we will also have a chance. SquadThanks to Orzelek - Morten Olsen's final squad: Thomas Sørensen (Stoke) Stephan Andersen (Brøndby) Jesper Christiansen (FC København) William Kvist (FC København) Lars Jacobsen (Blackburn) Simon Kjær (Palermo) Per Krøldrup (Fiorentina) Daniel Agger (Liverpool) Patrick Mtiliga (Malaga) Simon Poulsen (AZ Alkmaar) Martin Jørgensen (AGF) Christian Poulsen (Juventus) Daniel Jensen (Werder Bremen) Jakob Poulsen (AGF) Dennis Rommedahl (Ajax) Jesper Grønkjær (FC København) Thomas Kahlenberg (Wolfsburg) Thomas Enevoldsen (Groningen) Christian Eriksen (Ajax) Mikkel Beckmann (Randers) Jon Dahl Tomasson (Feyenoord) Søren Larsen (Duisburg) Nicklas Bendtner (Arsenal)

PluckaDuck
Tomasson Tipping a good World Cup from him actually.
skybluedave
I read Denmark used the least amount of players in qualification? Something like 16. Which I thought was pretty imrpessive.
Micado
Christian Eriksen will shine at the WC (I hope).
20LEGEND
A mod should rename this and the Ivory Coast thread. Disrespectful to both countries to make the thread titles about second rate Arsenal players.

PaulHartman71
If anyone is wondering why their top scorer in qualifying Soren Larsen wasn't in that squad list at the top of the page it's because he's been injured and is currently on his way back to full fitness. He came on as a substitute for his loan club Duisburg in their 1-1 draw with Furth at the weekend. He is very likely to be fit for the World Cup so will almost definitely be part of their World Cup hopes.
Dale Gribble
Bendtner was voted Danish POTY, no different to calling the Argentina thread "The Lionel Messi Thread - Argentina 2010" really. Although I do agree with you really.
Pace
Renaming this one is a reasonable suggestion, but Lord Eboué of Ashburton Grove is supreme emperor of the world. Take his thread title away from him at your peril tbh...
Doctor Who
Not much Denmark related activity here so far. Anyway, I'll take a shot at predicting the squad for the WC. CERTAIN PICKS: GK: Thomas Sørensen Stephan Andersen DEFENCE: Lars Jacobsen Daniel Agger Simon Kjær Per Krøldrup Michael Jakobsen MIDFIELD: Christian Poulsen Daniel Jensen Jakob Poulsen Thomas Kahlenberg Dennis Rommedahl ATTACK: Niclas Bendtner Jon Dahl Tomasson Søren Larsen LIKELY PICKS: GK: Jesper Christiansen DEFENCE: William Kvist Anders Møller Christiansen MIDFIELD: Leon Andreasen Martin Jørgensen Michael Silberbauer Jesper Grønkjær ATTACK: Martin Bernburg POSSIBLE SURPRISES: GK: Kim Christensen Brian Jensen Kasper Schmeichel DEFENCE: Simon Poulsen Kasper Bøgelund Michael Lumb Patrick Mtiliga MIDFIELD: Jonas Borring Mikkel Thygesen Christian Eriksen Søren Rieks Michael Krohn-Dehli ATTACK: Morten "Duncan" Rasmussen Mads Junker Morten Nordstrand That's it. Opinions please.
Nick OGS20
A mod should rename this and the Ivory Coast thread. Disrespectful to both countries to make the thread titles about second rate Arsenal players. Was going to say, what is this desperate need Arsenal fans have to make things all about their mediocre squad players about? The Eboue thread is nails-down-a-blackboard cringe. paz
Two of my mates and I are adopting Denmark as our World Cup team. We've bought Denmark shirts and are looking for somewhere in London to watch the games where there will be lots of Danish people there? Can anyone help? Had a search for Denmark London Supporters Association etc in google but no luck!

Orzelek
Why the hell did he take Søren Larsen with? The dude has been injured in a half year and generally not exactly impressed at Duisburg. And besides- he only scores against small countries like Malta, Albania etc Instead Mads Junker, who scored 21 goals in Eredivisie is left out of the squad
Micado
Instead Mads Junker, who scored 21 goals in Eredivisie is left out of the squad Exactly, Mads didn't have a good 08/09 season in Holland, but this year he showed potential and got Roda JC in the Europe League play off final (while last season Roda was fighting against relegation) imo worthy of a call up for the 26/30 men squad. The only reason I can see for not calling him up, is that he hasn't played for the Danish team before. But that reason is only good, if you got loads of alternatives and Denmark hasn't. A player, who has been injured for almost a year and generally has been rather crap the last 3-4 years isn't exactly Messi.
Tyler_Durden
wouldn't mind seeing Junker in the WC Squad, but Søren Larsen will probably bag two against Japan anyways ; )

Roo
How is Rasmussen rated in Denmark out of interest? Morten Rasmussen, I take it? Decent. Looked an interesting one for the future, when he broke into the AGF squad at a young age, but never quite fulfilled that promise. He was among the 30-man squad, but only had an outside chance of making the final 23 really.
Micado
Good to see Christian Eriksen (Ajax) in the list, can only be good for us (Ajax) that he gets to participate on a big tournament. Jon Dahl Tomasson (Feyenoord) Søren Larsen (Duisburg) Nicklas Bendtner (Arsenal) Christ, the attack is weak /0\ Yeah, it really is.

Orzelek
Anyone know if Beckmann is likely to command a starting place? Not likely. He got one of the last places in the squad, but since he has been fb in the last half year, he might be subbed in, in some of the games

He got one of the last places in the squad, but since he has been fb in the last half year, he might be subbed in, in some of the games What he said. Most people thought either Beckmann or Enevoldsen would miss out, instead it was Krohn-Dehli. But yeah, Beckmann is perhaps the midfielder with the least chance of playing time. Doctor Who
What's the general thought of fans in Denmark? Are you expecting to make the knockout round? I think most fans put the chance of progressing in the 50-75% range. The last friendlies and the injury list have toned down expectations a little. Micado
Am currently in Denmark (Aalborg to be precise) and here my Danish colleagues think it will all depend on the result against Holland, now that Robben is out for that game, they hope that we, the Dutch, will somehow not play that good and that Denmark can get a draw (or better), that would be good for the confidence. Here they think they will beat Japan and with the (hopefully) good result against Holland and thus high confidence they should be able to see off Cameroon (either a draw or a win) which should be enough to get 2nd spot in the group. Orzelek
Is Bendtner a definite starter? Looking at him to be your top scorer, is he going to get more goals than Jon Dahl? If he's fit or even half fit, he's definetly starting and probably the most important player too (him or Poulsen) And Jon Dahl hasn't scored a goal for Denmark since February 2008...
