Can someone tell me why Brendan Rodgers doesn't have Liverpool listed as a favored club? same with Luis Suarez?

Brendan grew up/and still is a Celtic supporter, which is listed in the game - that could the reason

depends

* is he vital for your team/or one of your IRL players (ei you would loose interest in the game if he was sold)

* are you in desperate need of the money

* are there replacements that are better than him

He was phenomenal for me in the first season, and was about to become key for me in the second season playing centerally. Very important and hard to replace, but we are talking stupendous amount of money- is anyone worth it?

again the questions above...

money sitting in the bank makes nobody happy, if he fills out the vital for your interest in the game or that it will make your team any weaker, why sell

So I finished 3rd in my first season (with only an FA Cup semi final worth talking about in the cups), with Origi featuring as my main striking option in a 4-3-2wide-1 formation, in a patient possession orientated game plan - however I soon realised that the opposition managers had started to use a 4-4-2 system that countered this, so I was forced to push one midfielder forward into the obvious gap left by a flat midfield 4, this kept me winning enough games to stay ahead of United towards the end of the season.

I noticed that Watford had managed to stay in the top 4 for long periods of the season using a dominating 3-2wingbacks-3-2 formation, with Ighalo and Deeney causing all sorts of problems for the leagues defences.

Chelsea ended the season in 14th, which was pretty incredible to see (beat them 2-0 and 2-4 home and away respectively) - until I had a closer look at their squad and saw that most of the players were unhappy with the managers decisions(?).

Arsenal romped to the title, 10 points clear of a 2nd placed Spurs...and then they signed Icardi for £50m + huge signing on fee and wages...makes a nice change. (I went in for him as I had £250m in the bank but I just refused to pay him £12m signing on fee and his agent £9m on top of the fee and his £200k/week wages - I know I know, it's not real money, but it's how I want to run the club)

OUTS

Before start of season

Sturridge - £35m to Spurs (I did this because I could to, and to help raise money for a new keeper, left back and midfielder)

In January window

Lovren - £23m to China (he wanted to speak to them)

Mignolet - £9.25m to AC Milan

After end of season

Origi - £45m to PSG  (he wanted to speak to them)

Mane - £60m to Real Madrid  (he wanted to speak to them)

Coutinho - £55m to Barcelona  (he wanted to speak to them, Messi begged him to come, and they openly woo'd him..hands were tied on this one)

Karius - £11.5m to Dortmund (I wanted him to speak to them)

Ings - £12m to AC Milan (I wanted him to speak to them)

INS

Before start of season

Luan - £16m from Gremio

Davide Santon - £10.75m from Inter Milan

Donnarumma - £18m from AC Milan (the other pair just aren't good enough)

In January window

Serge Gnabry - £17.5m from Werder Bremen (offers pace on the left side, knew we'd be losing Mane to the AfCoN in Jan)

Yan M'Vila - £3.2m from Rubin (some cheap steel in the middle of the park)

Charlie Taylor - £4.4m from Leeds (needed some natural cover for Moreno)

After end of season

Kamara Bingourou - £3.7m from Tours FC (18 year old back to my 1st choice 18 year old Donnarumma :) )

Luciano Vietto - £18m from Atletico (too good to be true, but offers more mobility off the ball and better finishing that Origi)

Ruben Neves - £50m from Porto (Minimum Fee release clause, aged 20 and so saw this as a 10 year investment)

Kingsley Coman - £31.5m (Replacement for Mane, probably could've got him for less, Juventus just accepted his value when I was expecting to have to pay far more)

I find it strange how a lot of people sell Mignolet, I've only ever found him to be fantastic for me.  Golden glove winner 2 years out of my 3 in charge (still half way through 4th season)

@rich10 Neves is a good player I bought him for £32.5m in my 2nd season, at the moment he is behind Can,Hendo and Bernardo Silva/Wilshere though.  Andre Silva is still my best purchase.

He is a great player for me, but has quite a few off days, esp in big games.  No idea who I could replace him with if I sold him though.

@rich10 so you basically sold the whole team :herman:

@ryan045  I really didn't want to sell Lovren, Coutinho & Mane...but they would've been unsettled and wanting out, which always pushes their market value down, so it wasn't worth this risk in my opinion, I'd rather get decent money for them while I could.

Origi...meh...he performed but his relatively low stats meant he wasn't a specialist (pace, clinical, strength, movement).

@Plastic_Road  Maybe I should've given Mignolet more time, I've usually kept him in past FMs and he's done well enough. I just couldn't resist bringing in the future of the Italian national team in nets :) a future Legend to compare with Buffon hopefully.

I just missed out on Adrien Silva, Arsenal got him for £21m here, looks a class act...like a new Xavi but with better physicals.

Just bid £38m for Rugani, but I think I'm only signing him because I can and not because I need to, so might cancel it and save the money for one of the Superstars.

How do people use Emre Can to get the best out of him? Slightly confused what role to play him in, and I'd be interested to hear from others who might understand the game better than me.

Currently been swapping him between DLP and CM.

I use him as HB. He was a starter until January when I bought Will Hughes and Dele Alli. Now he is a back up to Hendo.

21 hours ago, eastley said:

I sell him after 6 mths, but I play him every game for those 6 mths to get his value high. Usually as a MC - DLP..

I usually do the same. On my save he wanted to leave for Real Madrid. But they never made a bid, so kept him. He looks more useful after the patch.

Is he best as a IF or AP?

@mninyo  This was my same problem when I played him on the left, he wasn't performing consistently enough for me, I did however find him to be more potent in the AMC/AM-Att role/duty.

I can't believe people sell Origi, Coutinho and Mane..

3 awesome players and really not many if any at all do a better job in game.

Origi has 67 goals for me with the Champions cup final to come.

@eastley  I was in the same position as we found ourselves in with Mascherano, Torres & Suarez...you can keep them, but you'd only end up with really unhappy players with a reduced market value.

And we've moved on since those 3 left...   :)

Ok so I'm just starting my 3rd season and the board have just gone and got Ousmane Dembélé for me. £65M. Didn't expect them to sanction it to be honest. Hopefully he can help me get that league title. Have finished runner up both seasons before

Darn it..

Henderson and Coutinho will not re-sign with me..

So either I try again later on and hope, or sell now and cash in.

ah, yes I have this issue now and again.  What I have found (doubt it works all the time though) is that if you leave it longer, in my case I just wait until before they could leave on a bosman and I generally find they are keen to sign and for a much lower wage than any original demands - may be worth a try, but dont expect 100% success....

I'm not playing as Liverpool but wanted some advice from you all, how good does Woodburn turn out? I have a 30 million bid accepted for him and a 60 million bid accepted for Rashford. Trying to build a very English driven team, who should I go for?

Cheers.

Rashford is real good, always has a high potential.

Woodburn can Vary from real good to good squad player, all depends what he was given in your save.

On my current save Woodburn looks to be world class, but my last one, he was only a rotation player.

40 and 60 million seems around right for them both.

Well it turns out that none of my replacements are good enough to fill the boots of Origi, Coutinho & Mane  *sob* only Neves is performing from the new recruits.

I bottled out of buying Kevin De Bruyne (they wanted £120m+), Gabriel Jesus (£58m + £8m + £6m player/agent fees, and his stats just aren't quite up to it, so hoping to get him in a sale when he eventually realises that City have too many quality players up top)

Firmino has confidence issues due to not being able to hit a barn door, and Vietto is just poor. I'm conceding late equalisers and creating nowhere near as many chances as I should be to win games. And as a consequence I've been meddling with my tactics, panicking really. The buck stops with me, there's no one else to blame.

My biggest mistake was placing some faith in Markovic, but he's a shadow of the player we had last season (after his loan spell).

Oh and Icardi, not buying him for £55m+ was also a mistake.

I'm 8th after 8 games, so plenty of time to get it right (Chelsea are 15th again, what IS going on there!?)

Recently started season 2. I had a bit of a disappointing summer window in terms of getting rid of players that are never going to get close to the first team. Managed to sign Van Dijk (26M) Vietto (14.5M rising to 18.5 with clauses) De Sciglio (20M) as cover for Clyne and Moreno and Witsel (free)

I finished 5th in season 1 with no real cup runs.

My starting 11 has been

GK: Donnarumma

RWB: Clyne

CB's Van Dijk and De Vrij

LWB: Moreno

DM(DLP-s) Can

CM's Witsel(BBM) Lallana (CM-a)

LW(IF) Coutinho

RW: Mane

ST(F9) Vietto

After 6 league games I'm unbeaten and sit 4th a couple of points behind 1st. Van Dijk has been my highest average rated player with something like 7.94, Witsel has chipped in with a few goals. Mane was my top scorer with 16 last season and has got a 3 so far. Vietto has banged in 9 goals in all competitions and has made my front 3 look a lot more dangerous as he seems much more willing to work the channels and try to get in behind defences. Hopefully I'll have a good run in Europe, I'm off to a positive start by winning my opening 2 group games.

Right guys, transfer dilemma of the day:

Krasnodar want £50m+ for him. I've got £80m in my budget, and £250m in the bank. I think I'd probably use him as an AM playing off the striker.

Worth a punt?

Season finished in 2020...

Few things to Note.

  • Origi has played a career total of 191 games for 124 Goals (League Games Only), 76 of those coming in the last two seasons alone!
  • I won everything, 100 goal season in EPL, 109 points.
  • West Ham and the Wolves finished top 4 and made the ECC!
  • Mbappe is a god.
  • Woodburn and Trent are going to be world beaters, already first teamers, Trent keeps Clyne on the Pine...

Just finished my first season as Liverpool manager in this years version

Season 2016/2017 competition rundown

EPL: Finished 2nd

League Cup: Knocked out in the 5th round

FA Cup: 2-1 winners against Chelsea

Started off really badly as I couldn't get my tactic to click, messed about with 3-4 different formations doing the year before ending playing a super attacking 4-2-2-2 with wingbacks

Despite the poor start to the season I ended up finishing 2nd after Man U - decent first season IMO

The league cup wasn't prioritized, so the reserves went out of it in 5th round to Sheff Wed

The FA cup wasn't prioritized either, but as the reserves made it into the semi final, the first team took over and beat first and then Chelsea 2-1 in the final - really pleased to win silverware in my first season

Decent movement in the transfermarked

Ins:

Gianluigi Donnarumma - A.C. Milan

Daniele Rugana - Juventus

Felipe Anderson - Lazio

Kasper Dolberg - Ajax (loaned back to the end of season one)

Fred - Shakhtar

--- January movements

Kieran Tierney - Celtic

Rodrigo Bencancur - Boca

Outs:

Daniel Sturridge - Spurs (couldn't keep him on with his injury proneness)

Simon Mignonet - A.C. Milan (Building a team for the future, and couldn't see Mignonet being a part of it)

Adam Bogdan - Lyon (no need for a senior players as 3rd choice)

--- January movements

Lucas Leiva - Guangzhou (The Chinese came in with a bid in January which I could negotiate to a straight £26.5m cash deal upfront, couldn't say no to that)

Summerdeals secured:

11 newgens will arive at some point

Ryan Sessegnon - Fulham

Alessio Romagnoli - A.C. Milan

Paulo Dybala - Juventus

Wages are out of control.

My first team are all on 150k-250k.

So 2.2mil in wages eaten up just by them!

Then you have the players who are on high wages that have been pushed out of the 11, like Henderson, Coutinho, Lucas, Sane,

So basically the rest of my team have to be regens, I am not sure if I should sell Coutinho, Henderson and Sane, I am just about to enter 2021.

Try to sign them up to 5 year deals + club option for another 3 year + 1 extra year after 5 games in their final season, as soon as you start the game, gives you 9 years where you control their wages, so they don't go crazy

So I'm 2/3s through my first season. I didn't sign anyone and stripped back the first team squad to only 17 players before the start. So have been horrible in the cups, although still in the FA by the skin of my teeth. We're top of the league on goal difference with 12 to go though, wish me luck lads.

Also, all this chat of Coutinho. I play him CM as advanced play maker. He seems to get more out of the other players bit isn't outstanding there himself. Might put Lallana there and try Coutinho as an IF for a couple of games?

Evening lads and ladies.

I need a hand, I've had a cracking career at Liverpool. 4 years in 4 titles 2 champions league titles and some other cups.

I've just had my brexit warning so I want to leave after season 5, it just will not suit my style of management and I feel I need a new challenge anyway.

How can I leave and keep my status at the club intact?

I know this shouldn't matter but I enjoy looking at myself as being a legend of the club!

players that have left have their status (if you mean legend/icon/favorit staff etc) intact, can't see why that shouldn't apply for you as manager if you are on one of those lists

He has always performed for me when I play him.

I started mine again.

Only out is Lucas.

Ze Gomes, Donnarumma, Melegoni, Goldaniga, Robertson and Leon Bailey are my ins.

Besides Donnarumma, the others I don't usually sign.

Got a few tactics going, all seems to be working well.

Not long started the my second season, think I've got about 30M and 200k available wage budget. The summer window has ended but I'm contemplating a move for Pulisic in January, looking for a bit of feedback on how he's performed for other people and how he's been used to help me make a decision on him

A little update on my 3rd season in charge:

First off Origi is immense for me! 103 games in 2 seasons, he bagged 73 goals and 18 assists!

UEFA Super Cup: Winners! 0-0 at FT, and I went a goal behind in the 95th minute before winning 2-1 aet

EFL Cup: Lost in the quarter final to Chelsea 1-0 away from home

FA Cup: Lost to Man Utd on penalties in the semis :(

Premier League: Winners, number 20 in the bag! Drawing level with Untied again

58e19fcabdb6a_Season3prem.thumb.png.1437273b5be9076cb16e5cd469a7c77b.png

Champions League: RETAINED THE TROPHY!! Back to back Champions Leagues, also now hold the record for games unbeaten in the competition, I faced Barcelona in the Quarters and after a 3-2 win at home I thought the two away goals conceded would be too much, but managed to pull off an unlikely win at the Camp Nou, and then there were three English teams in the Semi's! Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal. My run is below.
