[FM2016 - 16.3] MLS with 24 teams (+NASL and USL)

Recommended Posts

I am running through a season but am having a problem as I am entered into the reserves league as well. If I set the reserve league to start and finish in 2000 will this stop it from running? Didn't want to delete it in case it had a knock on effect

Manually.

this (along with the reserves I suppose) is the only "leap from reality" in the file but I like it. What would happen if they started blank? Would they sign enough guys by roster date or would it be too hard? I'm guessing there's no way to force an expansion draft?

I'm sure it honestly kind of depends. If you ticked the "Fill playable teams" box then it would put a bunch of regens in there. I mostly filled the squads with recently dropped MLS players.

I've loaded your file together with Claassen's file for the CFU Champions League, amongst a lot of other files.

Is it possible to qualify with Puerto Rico FC for this competition?

I made a CFU file with PRFC getting in, here if you want it. As close as possible to the real-life schedule but w/ an extra qualifying round for all CFU countries (PRFC come in later with the big teams from T&T/Jamaica)

How can I change the division teams are in via the editor? I want to add my own team in and swap out Chicago. Then I want to move my team to the Western Conference and either Minnesota or SKC to the East. But when I remove Chicago and put in my team, the conferences get screwed up and LAFC and Minnesota go to the East, etc

Is there a value in the DB to tie a team to a conference?

I changed the file for my part.

I have already added Las Vegas, Chicago Sting and Aztecs. I plan to add a Cuban team (it is crazy, but it is funny).

I would like to add the team affiliated to Celtic. But I do not know in which city to put it. Boston (Bhoys)? Philadelphia? Hartford? West Coast?

If a specialist of the US soccer could explain me his opinion

;)

Yes, I have seen this club... I see that you have installed it in Boston (instead of New Jersey)... I think that it is the best place, even if IRL, it seems that Philly or West Coast is more priority... Thank's for your advice ;)

Yeah, it has no city listed in game, i thought it was a Boston club so i could assign/create a stadium :)

Another question to the specialists of the US soccer:

- > why RGV Toros can play in Cup and not Swope Park and Bethlehem Steel?

Toros is also a team satellite as two others, no?

When I first started this file, the Toros were going to be allowed to play in the cup because they technically are an independent club, but a month or so ago they decided to exclude them and I just never fixed the file.

Uncle Sam... Question... The teams in American Second Division and 3rd American Division the 2 divisions under MLS, those 2 leagues dont have reserve squads or anything do the 2 American leagues have newgens aka youth intake or no?

No, none of the non-MLS professional clubs generate newgens. This is how the USA works in FM and was not changed for this file. The newgens come from the Academy clubs and the PDL clubs.

So just so I know I have to wait until say the mls teams release academy players or don't sign them or loan them pretty much

Some questions:

Do MLS reserve leagues exist in real life?

Why have you increase the inhabitants range of all these cities ?

Why did you add a reputation to the Eastern and Western conferences (0 by default)?

Why have you created Inter Miami while there was Miami FC in NASL? Isn't Miami FC the Beckam's franchise?

The MLS reserve league does not exist in real life.

I increased the inhabitants range to reflect the metropolitan population.

The reputation increase was part of an attempt to improve the quality of regens in the USA. I was trying a lot of things, but it is apparently completely hard coded.

And no, Miami FC is NOT Beckham's MLS franchise. The MLS franchise is yet to be named.

OK, I have just released the final version of this file. There are two versions available for download, one version contains a full MLS Reserves division. This is obviously fictional, as the MLS reserves were dropped when the clubs formed affiliates with the USL teams.

The file without that removes the Reserves division reflects the affiliations with the USL clubs. The 12 MLS teams that operate "B" clubs in real life have them in the game. The other 12 will have inactive Reserve sides. The admitted problem with this file is that the AI does not fill the squads of the B teams so after a few seasons they are empty and fall to the bottom of the league. They exist strictly for the user to use for player development.

I have also added a couple of optional files that can be downloaded. The first adds the CFU Club Championship (Caribbean regional championship). This competition is included so that Puerto Rico in the NASL can qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League. This file also includes a revived Pan-Pacific Championship. This competition takes place in the MLS preseason and pits the MLS Champion against the champions of Japan, Australia, and South Korea. It's a one-leg knockout competition that is played at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii, as it was in the last couple of editions in real life. And finally, I created an international competition that recreates the January camp that the US National Team always holds. It's used to get a look at domestic players, and players who are based in Scandinavia in real life. This camp will also include Canada and one random CONCACAF Nation.

And finally, an international competition that I created based on the Copa América Centenario. I called it the Copa Nuevo Mundo (Cup of the New World). This competition includes 8 nations from CONMEBOL (sorry Venezuela and Bolivia), and 8 from CONCACAF. The USA, Mexico, and Canada qualify automatically. The top three Central American teams qualify through the Copa Centroamericana, and the top 2 Caribbean teams qualify through the Caribbean Cup. The tournament is hosted by the USA and takes place every four years during the same summer as the European Championship.

So I was planning on playing as Ottawa fury.. The only downside is their academy is an affiliate club instead of a u18 team.. I tested it and I would have to pay a transfer fee for the players and then pay there contract.. To fix this would I just have to add a u18 team and then just transfer all of the info over? Would it still work?
