GDPR requirements mean that it needs to be as easy to change your cookie preferences as it was to make them in the first place - meaning it needs to be present on the page, and can't be hidden under a user settings menu, for example, because not everyone who uses the site will register as a member.  They could probably get away with a link in the footer, though.

And also, it being visible is surely a good thing if you're that antsy about your liberties being infringed, as it makes the means of avoiding them much more obvious.  Previously they'd just gather everything without your consent or even knowledge.  Is that better?
