This is an enjoyable thread - lots of unknown unknowns taking place.

Cheers Johnny. Yeah that's a great name for the new club  out-drink then out-pass the opposition.

You have to take the 'golden generation' comment with a pinch of salt. But wow, we've got a young star in the making!

Tay is already one of the best players at the club and he will be straight into the first 11. If he develops well, he could become a real star for club and country.

Mohd is a decent prospect with the mental attributes I like to see. Just need to get him to run!

A real turnaround for the club, taking them from 2nd bottom to 3rd place on the final day equaling the clubs best ever finish. On top of that we also won the cup!

A fantastic record since joining. I lost my first competitive game as manager against Hougang and my 2nd not long after, but my winning percentage is still top notch.

League Table

That 5-0 win against Geylang on the final day allowed up to leapfrog them and go ahead of Tampines on goal difference. Japanese satellite side Albirex clinched the title while the holders Warriors finished in a very disappointing 3rd bottom.

Cup Final

95e63e979955d6f929df319aadf65e3d.png

A superb hat-trick from our teenage sensation was the highlight of an excellent final for us. That's two cup wins in 6 months for me as manager and finally a bit of a reputation boost.

Player Stats

6b2dcfa7a1c0de95d88271b795a35321.png

Tay Wei Liang is the biggest talking point, coming straight into the first team and scoring 8 in 7. Our overall top scorer was Shameer Aziq who bagged 20 goals this season.

Continental Football??!!

I guess that because we are run by the Singapore FA we are unable to play in continental competitions :(. Really gutted, I was looking forward to the Confederation Cup.

Manager Profile

Rep has gone from 5% to 15% - not many attribute changes. I'm hoping to take my A Licence soon. I signed a new contract with Young Lions until November 2019 and I'm looking forward to seeing how far I can take them next season.

I attended a job interview in secret and I've been offered the job. But where on earth is this team based?

Yes, in Burma's new capital city. It would be nice to stick around in Singapore to see through some of our youngsters development but this may be a move too difficult to turn down. The Myanmar league is more reputable and I've been offered a huge payrise, taking me to £36,500 a year wage compared to the £8k a year wage I'm currently on. I know what I would do in real life, it's a no brainer, so there's no time for sentiment I'm afraid!

Damn, always love a good poaching from a former club.

Talking of poaching, I've signed this poacher 3 times now. He's never played a competitive game under me as I always leave just as he arrives

Cheers @Keano16 - I definitely think I will be here at Naypyitaw for a while, though judging by this career so far I wouldn't rule anything out!

2019 Mid-Season Review

Results

6cafaba9924af61e092514e5e955106c.png

We're scoring a lot of goals, but also haven't managed to keep a clean sheet. It's certainly exciting stuff! The results are coming which is the most important thing. A few very interesting games; a 7-1 where we scored in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd minute and a 4-2 victory that we were losing until way into added time.

League Table

9e4f7c3eefbfb916e2460b9a4bd7043f.png

2 of the games that we've lost have come against the biggest sides in the country - Yangon and Yadanarbon. Our defeat against newly promoted Hantharwady is the only real disappointment this season. We're just a point behind the leaders, let's just hope we can keep our form up.

Player Stats

b7f39ca09a4fcfb1b6ede0ad124162ba.png

We've had a pretty settled first 11 throughout the season in an attacking, very fluid 4-4-2. Our strike partners have scored 11 in 11 each while our wingers have been creating and scoring.

We've managed to pick up two of the best Burmese prospects here from our competitive rivals. They are already good enough to slot straight into the side as key players and should be in the national team.

Hey,

Have you a link for your tactic?

Hi Sears, I haven't got a link but I have a few screenshots of the formations I've been using throughout this career; currently using the 4-4-2. The only player instructions I've been using are ''shoot less often'' and for the keeper to ''roll it out to the full backs''.

Very poor depth but I'd rather one standout player than a bunch of averages ones and we got exactly that!

840393c681b98d4f92db11a67d8a80bd.png

Another 'top' striker in the making. He's got great finishing already, but it's his electric pace that sets him apart. Myint Oo could become an incredible goalscorer if his pace and finishing are anything to go by.

Deadline Day Transfers

4a60a79b0af7147d9a9adba2b69871a8.png

It came to deadline day and I had decided that I wanted to improve the squad with some foreign players. We'd had several foreigners on trial over the course of the season but none had really had the wow factor. Omega Roberts was the exception and I decided to snap him up before we'd fully scouted him. He is a star at this level. We also signed Aung Aung, the Burmese goalkeeper they named him twice . Ju Jong-Chol joined us from semi-pro football in North Korea to add a bit of creativity to our midfield; another player who really stands out in this league.

An excellent campaign as we secured the title for the first time in the clubs, albeit short, history. I'm not entirely sure what double it is referring to . Only disappointment was going out of the cup on penalties to lower league opposition in the first round.

Results

619825b378cfe9d62934de4e94712f68.png

After that loss in the cup, everything was win, win, win after. We scored a lot of goals, but also had a very solid defence unlike the first half of the season where we failed to keep a clean sheet.

League Table

7fe665e5b5af3377568ff482d1905715.png

Yangon Utd finished the season really well but they couldn't catch us. 57 points from 22 games is a fantastic record.

Player Stats

748fad29731a1d1f25a2a0641cfadbef.png

The introduction of some new players really developed our squad. Moe Oo and Nishihara are up there as the best players this season, Moe Oo defying his ability.

Another New Challenge

6412d11b62f74b5291b4a9eee5dbbb77.png

I really didn't have any intention of leaving Naypyitaw, but out of the blue I was offered a job interview at the richest club in Malaysia Johor DT and I was offered the job. A small personal pay rise to £900 per week, but a £3m transfer budget and £75k wage budget to play with. This could be the job that really pushes me ahead as long as I can meet the expectations!

This is brilliant. I don't catch up on this thread for about a week and in that time you have been through more clubs than hot dinners, racked up more air miles than Richard Branson, P**sed off a chairman, not said a single word to your players, been rejected entry to a Continental competition, not had the backing of anybody at the club despite probably being their most successful manager ever and finally maybe possibly found a home.

I need a lie down.

Your should have the resources to succeed at Johor, though they might have to nail you down ;)

They can nail me down by offering a lucrative contract, hopefully after a successful first season. Plenty of resources, but finding decent Malaysians is proving difficult!

Apologies I got carried away so it's a full season update. Yes, that's right, I stayed a full season with a club!! Just a week off a calendar year...It was definitely a successful season, as can be expected with the resources at my disposal, but a clear sweep of all the domestic trophies with just one loss was more than I could've hoped for.

Malaysian Super League

4fd005a6a3c360225d41990f328d8678.png

5ad8977affb1f6ece1dacdab91949c0c.png

Despite losing our 3rd game of the season to FELDA, we won the league very comfortably in the end. Pahang and Kedah were our nearest rivals and we went into the Pahang game 9 points clear with 3 games left. After securing the title against Pahang we were in high spirits, thrashing PBDKT 8-1!!!

Domestic Cups

416732216043f8014d0f52f150ba73c7.png

I believe that the FA Cup is officially the 'premier' domestic cup, even though the Malaysia cup has a great reputation. After handing out a few thrashings we found ourselves facing our 2nd team in the FA Cup Final. It was played in front of 45,000 Johor supporters (in a 110k stadium) and it was a real spectacle. Our 2nd team won the second tier and got to the Malaysia Cup QF as well - top quality from them! We cleared up in the Malaysia cup comfortably even winning the final 6-0, Tay Wei Liang leading the scoring charts with a Salah-like 20 in 11!!

Transfers

c9dbd155d17e1c8aacf0899969feba15.png

My aim was to hoover up as much local talent (or Malaysian dual-nat) as I could. Even my foreign signings were relatively local with Hariss Harun and Tay Wei Liang from neighboring Singapore and Agus Syamsudin from Indonesia.

Facilities

b5a06e4f13b875742e738adc0249de06.png

Upgrades all round on our facilities so we're looking pretty good. I would be very tempted to stick around for a long time but I was annoyed by missing out on the Malaysia National Team job to a terrible 0.5* rep local. I've signed a new 1-year contract but I'm not ruling anything out right now. Is it time for a European breakthrough?

Player Stats

60f7d6ba72c12c6aa934d83999eb02e6.png

Great performances all round; particularly from our strikers and full-backs. I won't be making too many changes for next season, although our best CB doesn't want to sign a new deal at the moment.

I've been declaring interest in other jobs. Clearly my board aren't happy and have given me an ultimatum - if i declare interest in any more jobs I will be sacked. Time to honour my contract unless I get headhunted.

Smashing it.

At the moment! Let's see how we get on against other nation's sides because the standard of football in Malaysia is pretty poor. Bar a few foreign slots it's non-league standard for sure.
