So what is it about him in particular that makes him more influential than other supposedly higher PA players?

If you go to the Player - Profile and then Player - Dynamics, what is listed as the reasons for Maviael (YP8g) being influential? It looks something like this?

I'm trying to work out if this "influence" is an indicator of something else that we can use and I keep forgetting to look in my own save.

This is them 3 weeks on, from highly influential to team leader.

Here's the difference between players on the hierarchy scale:

Right I have no idea with the money side of things but we are not doing well financially, even with £1.1m made from player sales in the last 18 months. Here's our finances screens.

You are also spending significantly more on staff wages than you are on player wages!! Not sure I have seen that before. 

The Youth costs could be as a result of all the upgrades. I was expecting it to be high, but not that high. 

£219,904 is what you spent on Youth system last month and if we run that across a whole year it's £2,638,848, which is significantly higher than the £958,350 you paid last season, (but you have had at least 1 upgrade this season I think). The way I understand is that there is an initial outlay for the new system to be put in place, and then the regular payment for the upkeep of the new system will be higher than the upkeep of the old system. So you are effectively paying for something to be improved and then paying for because it has been improved. If we translate that into real terms then it sounds about right, and if we look at the type of player you are able to produce then it actually seems ok. The problem is really that we won't know how cost-efficient this is until we get 10+ years deeper into the save and we see what sort of level these players are playing at at their peak. 

I'm loving your save as always by the way. 

Still haven;t got a clue what is going on in the various competitions though. :lol:

I left the staff signings to the DoF and well yea there's a lot of staff members...

Glad you're loving the save Jimbo, another thing you'll like is that, with 9 games left of the season, my goalkeeper Roberlan has 15 goals in 63 appearances. :lol:

:lol: I haven't been doing it with FM18.

Penalties look like they have had significant work done on them and to be honest I was too busy trying not to get sacked. I may have to have another look now you have done this. Keep us updated. :thup:

ps A goal every 4.2 games is cool. Way cool. :applause:

Have squad depth. I'm not rotating too much but I'm playing up to around 74 games a season whilst being in the 2nd tier, without going far in the Copa do Brasil or even being in the Club World Cup, Recopa or the Copa Libertadores/ Sudamericana. :lol: What team are you thinking of using?

Desportiva, from the Serie D. Just noticed they start with great youth facilities but average coaching and fairly basic recruitment. So that's a challenge there :)

Good luck! Definitely squad depth and rotation, though Capixaba should have a relatively short season thus a less congested schedule (you have Copa Verde though). If you're not doing a youth challenge you might be able to sign some surprisingly good players even in lower divisions. You can find quality players even at clubs lower than Série D!

He did have 12 for Leadership, could that be what makes the difference, I would expect leadership and influence to be linked in some way.

Just caught up on the thread, great progress so far Makoto although you have put an annoying desire to have a game in South America into my mind and I doubt Stockport fancy relocating.

Haha glad you're enjoying it Reggiana! :D South America has become much more appealing since they fixed the Copa Libertadores bug, if you want some more desire or temptation then I suggest reading these threads as well if you haven't already!

Actually, you enter at the 5th round because you're the current Copa do Nordeste champions
