dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2042/43 I wanted a big club and they don't come much bigger than this. The previous manager retired, so I found myself in the unusual position of taking control of the reigning league champions. League Table - it was a brilliant season long battle for the title between us and Barca which was settled on the final game. Supercopa - this was over after the first leg. Copa del Rey - two legs in each round gave the squad players plenty of games. UEFA Champions League - despite a number of poor results, we made it to the final where we edged out Bayern. Squad - the squad already had a number of great players and some talented youngsters, but the wages were out of control. Transfers - I sold a number of players to finance a few key players coming in. Finances - this badly needs sorting out, but I've somehow got an £85m transfer budget! Key Player Profiles: Emre Özeren - the big money signing brought in to score the goals. Walky Lanoix - an amazing player, shame he's getting on a bit. Edson - another of my new signings. Christian Formann - our most valuable player. Ludovic Marchand - signed in January, I thought he looked pretty special for a 17 year old. scfcbostock
WOW!! Not seen a league finish like that before...to teams with 100 points and goals I did a similar sort of career to this last year, although I started at the top of league 2 so it was much easier to build my reputation. Took over at Real Madrid for what I thought would just be a season or two for a blitz of success, however I ended up staying much longer than I though as a whole squad revamp was needed. The wages were just completely out of control, a lot of good players were sold off cheaply, as there was 30+ year olds on £300k a week!! It was a much more interesting time there than I thought it would be although once I'd revamped the squad it did become quite easy bar the odd tough game in the Champions League. dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2043/44 Last season I had instant success in my first season in Madrid, but the club is still in a financial state that needs fixing. League Table - the battle wasn't quite as close this time as Barca lost form in the closing stages. Supercopa - despite the first leg loss, we came back to win the season opener. UEFA Super Cup - the scoreline flattered us in this one. FIFA Club World Cup - it took an extra time winner as we struggled with ten men. Copa del Rey - I really like this cup for the youngsters, especially when they go on and win it. UEFA Champions League - we slipped up at Wolfsburg, but went on to make the final look easy. Squad - the squad is in good shape, but we still have too many big earners. Transfers - I spent big, although we couldn't really afford it. Finances - it is an improvement on last season, which is good considering the transfer spending. Key Player Profiles: Emre Özeren - top scorer again. Giuseppe Rocca - he's still young, but I'm hoping he will become our main striker. Edson - another outstanding season. Thomas Friend - a high profile new signing. Ludovic Marchand - this kid is unreal. dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2044/45 The trophies were coming in, but the finances weren't getting any better. This season I was hoping to make cut backs without losing out on the field. League Table - we threw away so many silly points, but Barca were just as bad. Supercopa - an amazing first leg had this one wrapped up. UEFA Super Cup - I thought we were the better team, but we lost this one. FIFA Club World Cup - feels a bit weird playing a feeder club in a cup final. Copa del Rey - the backup players got us to the final, the first team lost it to our biggest rivals. UEFA Champions League - this was a disaster. Squad - it isn't far off being my own squad, especially with the two biggest earners leaving this summer. Transfers - I was doing my best to cut the spending, but then a world class centre back became available for £43m. Finances - still in huge debt, but we should be able to sort that out next season. Key Player Profiles: Giuseppe Rocca - the young striker finally became our top scorer. Emre Özeren - I'm hoping he will play the supporting role well enough. Ludovic Marchand - simply amazing for a 19 year old. Walky Lanoix - he's been superb, but I can't justify a 32 year old on £300k p/w. Norman Moissidis - the big money signing that I couldn't resist. So if we consider EL winners as european champions of some kind then it did break the curse Probably depends on the wording. I've seen some places claim he said they wouldn't be "European champion", which could be just the CL and which Benfica had just won when he cursed them. (the predecessor of the UEFA Cup/Europa League, the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, did exist at the time he made the curse, as did the Cup Winners Cup)
Torminator
First of all congrats with your progress! Nice that you got the job at RM! In my save Benitez is still there after winning only 2 Spanish cups in 4 years. The finances in Spain are terrible. I'm in my 4th season with Atletico and still need to sell players to get those black numbers (in FM White haha) on the finances tab. dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2045/46 Despite missing out on the Champions League last season, the club was in good shape as I continued to improve the squad and sort out the finances. League Table - the only defeat was a weird 3-0 loss to mid-table Cordoba. Supercopa - a great way to kick off the season. Copa del Rey - I stuck with the fringe players in the early stages, then brought in the first team in the latter stages. UEFA Champions League - we seem to struggle against the big clubs away from home, but that wasn't enough to stop us lifting the trophy for the third time in four years. Squad - the squad is in great shape, with wages under control and plenty of youngsters involved in the first team. Transfers - these transfers were not planned, but Bailly looks like an excellent young player. Finances - making money turned out to be a lot easier than expected. Key Player Profiles: Giuseppe Rocca - top scorer again. Emre Özeren - playing superbly as the supporting striker. Ludovic Marchand - our most valuable player. Edson - another amazing right winger. Sébastien Bailly - the big money youngster who will hopefully have an impact next season. dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2046/47 With the finances fixed and the squad in great shape, a new stadium is the one thing I'd like to get at this club before moving on. League Table - just like last season we lost one game, this time against Tenerife. Supercopa - unusual opponents, but we got revenge for the one league defeat last season. UEFA Super Cup - completely one sided. FIFA Club World Cup - another demolition. Copa del Rey - once again, the fringe players got us to the final. UEFA Champions League - not far off a perfect set of results. Squad - not all my previous signings have impressed, but the squad is hard to improve. Transfers - I made a profit by replacing three fringe players. Finances - another profit. Key Player Profiles: Emre Özeren - top scorer from a supporting role, this was his best season for the club. dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2047/48 Our spell of dominance continued last season, but the wait for the new stadium is the thing keeping me at the club. League Table - two defeats this season but we were scoring for fun. Supercopa - we slipped up in the first leg but made up for it at home. UEFA Super Cup - this was a crazy match. FIFA Club World Cup - the South Americans were back in the final. Copa del Rey - the final was amazing. 2-0 down after an hour, I made a triple substation that turned the match. UEFA Champions League - this final did not go our way as we conceded a last goal to halt our comeback. Squad - I'm getting to the point where I can't really improve the squad. Transfers - I gave up on a couple of locally produced players in favour of new signings. Finances - a small profit. Key Player Profiles: Giuseppe Rocca - he had an amazing season. Emre Özeren - brilliant as usual. Ludovic Marchand - our most valuable player, along with Rocca. Edson - he's still playing too well to move him on. Branislav Dikovic - looking good enough to become a first choice one day. LEEMOD
Dafuge, love this thread mate, please can you help me? I know how to upload images so it shows and also links but how do you name the links you post? dafuge
At the top of the forum, go to 'Settings' then 'General Settings' (on the left). At the bottom, select 'enhanced interface' and save the changes. This will give you access to the extra posting tools that make it easier to post links. Once you've done this, highlight the word you wish to turn into a link, then use the link button (looks like a little globe) to paste in the direct Url to your screenshot. dafuge
Real Madrid - Liga BBVA- 2048/49 I was promised a new stadium, so I'm sticking around to see that happen. League Table - an unbeaten season, but Cordoba stopped us from making it perfect. Supercopa - we needed the home leg to overturn the first leg. Copa del Rey - we had a couple of losses away from home but our fringe players did the job. UEFA Champions League - my old club Monaco gave us our biggest test. Squad - some of my first signings are getting older now, so there's room for improvement. Transfers - my keeper wanted to leave, so he was replaced by a youth product. Finances - I renewed a lot of contracts, which cost us badly. Key Player Profiles: Giuseppe Rocca - top scorer again. Emre Özeren - played well, but this might be it for him. Ludovic Marchand - incredible as usual. Edson - he's 31 now, he might have to leave soon. Branislav Dikovic - ready to take Emre's place. dafuge
Has anyone got any experience with the elections that you get at Real Madrid? My current chairman is in his third term and looking to serve a fourth in the upcoming elections. That will mean that there was just an 11 month gap between elections, is that normal?
