I'm saying that playing as a lone striker (a position that he's not suited to and which Wenger even came out and said he regrets being forced to do it because it does him no favours, and isolates him, sacrificing his performances for the good of the team) and still managing to score better than a goal every 2 games, is something only very players in the world can do.

Scouts at Milan and Barcelona (and here for that matter) aren't known for being mugs, especially when it comes to attackers. If they think he's good enough to put so much effort into signing then he is. And is worth just as much effort to try and keep.

I dont disagree with any of that, but he is far from being irreplacable especially with the money we're potantially going to get from him.

Gomez, who will get a grand total of 4 goals next season.

Seriously though it's well and good saying we'll be fine because of the money but who we would we buy? Villa's not coming, Eto'o's made of glass, Gomez is sh*t. Martins can gtf.

Villa might come, you never know.

And I dont know who we'll sign but then I barely knew who Eduardo was before we signed him.

Just had a look at a few vids of his and he looks more then good enough. Some of his play is amazing. Its not just his skill, awareness and passing but he is fu**ing quick. Perfect attributes to play the Arsenal way.

We've got Nasri. I don't know how much truth there is in Arsenal's interest in Arshavin, but I think he would be a quality signing. It all depends on whats going on with Ade.

Arshavin would be played as wide midfielder, maybe a second striker, but not Ade's position.

Yeah, he isn't any replacement for Ade, they're completely different. I still think we need to improve the left and Arshavin looks like he could do that. Adebayor, by the way, is an awseome player who is gonna get better. I don't understand some of the slating on here. It would be a big loss if he went.

So if we don't sign him, we get rid of Goon and Arseneknows in one fell swoop? Am I bad for not wanting him now, even though its for the greater good? icon_biggrin.gif </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Well thats just wrong!!

He is?

Super agent Ernesto Bronzetti claims Arsenal would prefer to sell Emmanuel Adebayor to Barcelona, but feels Milan have a '50 per cent' chance of signing the Togo striker.

Milan have put the former Monaco forward at the top of their summer shopping list after vice-president Adriano Galliani admitted it was 'Adebayor or nothing'.

Galliani conceded Milan's approach had been firmly rebuffed by Arsenal, but Bronzetti suggests a deal could be in the pipeline.

Bronzetti, who works on the bulk of Milan's major transfers, believes that the Italian club are still in the race to capture Adebayor.

However, Bronzetti says that the Gunners want to sell Adebayor to Barcelona amid reports the Spanish club are close to a £21million deal.

Motives

"Let's say we have a 50% chance, a lot will depend on the wishes of the player in the end," Bronzetti told Italian TV station Radio Radio TV.

"Arsenal want to sell him to Barcelona, for their own motives. Barcelona tell me they already have an agreement with the player.

"I only know that the Barcelona president, (Joan) Laporta, after having been doubted, now wants to shut everyone up by buying a big-name forward."

Bronzetti has also advised Milan not to bid for either Samuel Eto'o or Ronaldinho, who will be allowed to leave Barcelona over the summer.

Strategic error

He continued: "I do know they won't have the economic means to buy him until they sell Eto'o or Ronaldinho, so I'd advise Milan not to buy either of them or they'll finance the operation of taking Adebayor to Barcelona.

"(Saying the players weren't needed) was a massive strategic error. Now anyone who wants to buy those players is maybe going to wait until August 29.

"They've spent 57million euros already and their finances aren't infinite, so now if they wait a bit the price for Ronaldinho and Eto'o will go down."

Please please don't go ffs icon_frown.gif

This is a strange one. Adebayor actually comes across as genuine bloke and all he has ever said is that he wants to stay and will stay. Now though, f**k knows what going on. For all the Adebayor haters just remember Arenal have it pretty sweet right now as far as their striking options are concered and Ade is part of that. Every team needs a big African up front!!

You guys have almost convinced me that we're going for Arshavin, despite there being no concrete sources or evidence to suggest that Wenger's even interested, to the point where I'm going to be disappointed when he joins Sevilla or somebody.

Adebayor isn't leaving. If he is, it's because we've already secured Kenwyne Jones, who we all know is just as good.

Please sign Arshavin and Nasri, daytime porn for the whole of next year! Cesc, Arshavin, Nasri, Ade and RVP as the attacking 5 and you'll pretty much rule the world. Think you could accomodate them all too, Ade up top with Arshavin playing in behind him, then Nasri on the left, RVP on the right and Cesc in the middle with a Flaminiesque CM.

It would work brilliantly, until Wenger starts playing Eboue on the right, RVP on the left, Hleb behind Adebayor, and our 2 new signings on the bench icon_frown.gif
