Want to find out how a particular team or player is getting on in other people's games?

Here's a place where you can ask and anybody is free to reply.

(Obviously there may well be a fair bit of player naming in here so there may be a few of you that might want to avoid this thread.)

Well I'll kick this off then (good idea btw):

If anyone has South Africa running I'd like to see how Bidvest Wits are doing!

They got relagated in the first season, bounsed back two seasons later and have spent the last three seasons one or two places above relagation. They finished runners up in the SA KO Cup this year though.

Wrote it in another thread, but I'll write it again... :)

  • Toronto FC - very obvious. Read some of the threads I post in or click on my profile to learn more
  • PSV Eindhoven - I support them from FM08 save where we won 7 consecutive Eredivisie titles
  • Gillingham - I support The Gills from the FM09 thread Crazy Canuck on a International Managerial Tour. I had a fantastic 6 years managing in Priestfield
  • Rizhiquan - from my own challenge in CSE. Brought Rizhiquan to consecutive Chinese Super League titles in FM08, and I have 2 Neppo's Youth Hall of Famers
  • Real Oviedo - JoseRR's challenge from last year. Some of my favourite players all-time playing FM are from that save
  • Canadian National Team/China National team/Hong Kong National team - I support all 3 national teams because I'm Canadian and I have roots from China and HK, and I also am a supporter of any Asian football team in general, so if there's anything interesting of note, please do tell me. :D

Cheers, that's kind of what I expected. Nice run in the KO Cup (my personal favourite)

Wouldn't mind seeing how Charlton, Jonjo Shelvey, Chris Solly, Yado Mambo and Sean McGinty are doing.

Right Charlton up to Feb 2016:

2009/10 - Won League 1 and got promoted to Championship. Phil Parkinson signed a 3 year contract.

2010/11 - Board takeover occurred from within. Finished 8th.

They have been in the Championship since, finishing 16th, 19th, 17th and 10th. They are set for a mid-table finish this year. Phil Parkinson is still in charge and just signed another 3 year contract.

Yado Mambo has disappeared from my game. Assumed retired

Jonjo Shelvey stayed for 2 years before moving to Man City in a £6m deal. He is a regular for them and has made 8 appearances for England (3 goals).

Chris Solly stayed at Charlton for 3 years before moving to West Ham for £2.8m in the Premiership. He is in and out of their team and used as a rotated RB.

And Sean McGinty is not having a great career. Fulham took him on at the beginning of the game but he did little in his two years there. He was farmed out on loan to League 2 Yeovil for a year and then Livingston for two years in the Scottish Div 1 and then Div 2. He is now at Rochdale where he has been for 2 years, experiencing more relegation down to League 2.

Thats your lot :)

Charlton up to 2015

Three years in League 1 coming 5th, 4th and 2nd consecutively getting promoted 2011/12

They have stayed in the championship flitting with relegation, and currently are in 22nd at the half-way stage of the season. They are only 1point off the pace and there are a host of clubs in striking distance.

They have had 2 new chairmen in that time, both promoted from within, and Brian Laws is their current manager.

Charlton up to 2013

Charlton were promoted as League One winners in 2010/2011, and narrowly avoided relegation the following year (by one point), but finished in 22nd in 2012/2013 and will be playing in League One again. They sacked Phil Parkinson in October 2009 and replaced him with Steve McMahon. Colin Gardner (consortium) took over as chairman, and they resigned McMahon to a 3 year contract in July 2012 but sacked him after Charlton were relegated. Keith Hill is his replacement.

Jonjo Shelvey - he is still at Charlton and he has put up very good numbers, scoring over 10 goals in '09-'10, '10-'11, and '11-12. He has been extremely consistent (averaging a rating of 7.25 from the 2009-2010 season to the 2012-2013 season, but the previous season is a disappointment, playing only 29 games, scoring 7 goals and 2 assists, with a 7.17 rating. He wants to further his career and has refused to resign with Charlton, and Greek club Olympiakos are interested in his services on a free transfer.

Chris Solly - he is also still at Charlton. He has improved every year, from a 6.21 rating in League One to a 6.95 rating in the recently finished season. He scored a season best 3 goals in 2011-2012 and compiled 6 assists the season before. Like Shelvey, he is unsettled and Wigan are interested in his services on a free transfer.

Yado Mambo - he is currently playing for N.I. minnows Queens University. He was released in 2012 after playing only 9 games in 3 seasons, compiling a sub 6 match rating. However, with Queens University, he has played in 12 games, scoring 1 goal, and a 7.22 match rating.

Sean McGinty - he moved from Man Utd to Liverpool on a free in 2011-2012 has not played a single game at the club, being loaned to L1 club Oldham that season (37 games, 1 G, 4 A, 2 MoM, 7 rating), and to Championship side Watford in 2012-2013 (32 games, 0 G, 3 A, 0 MoM, 7.02 rating).

@Scoham - I have just the Championship and Premier League running from England but you'll be pleased to know Charlton came up at the start of the 2010/11 season and finished 14th. The next season they came 7th missing the play-offs by 1 point but the following season they dropped back to 17th. Currently halfway though the 2013/14 season and they are down in 18th with manager Ryan Giggs' () position 'insecure'.

Jonjo Shelvey moved to Hull in 2010 and then to Spurs in 2012 but hasn't played regularly.

Chris Solly is still at the club and has been a regular since promotion.

Sean McGinty has yet to play a game for Man U but has had successful loan spells at Derby and Coventry.

@rancer:

Toronto FC - made the play-offs in 2009 and 2011 but were eliminated in the conference semis each time.

Rizhiquan - mixed fortunes here. Nearly relegated in 2009 and 2011, mid-table in 2010 and 2013 but missed promotion by 2 points in 2012.

Canadian National Team - current ranking 56th. Quarter finalists in the 2011 and 2013 Gold Cups and heavily defeated over two legs by Ecuador in the 2014 World Cup North/South American play-off.

China National team - current ranking 70th. 3rd place at the 2011 Asian Cup but failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Hong Kong National team - 157th in the world and knocked out at the earliest stage in qualificaiton for all competitions so far.

@acidmonkey:

Sunderland have been mid-table pretty much every season with a highest finish so far of 9th in 2011/12.

Darren Bent - still at Sunderland but hasn't reached double figures in the scoring charts in any season yet.

Jordon Henderson -

Kevin Phillips - finished his playing career at Charlton, retiring before the 2012/2013 season. Now listed as a manager but hasn't found a job yet.

For anyone who's got the time, I'd like to know how Estudiantes Santander (Mexico, start the game in the unplayable 2nd Division) are doing as well as Stoke City, Tai Po & my new team Olimpo (Argentina, 2nd Division) and the national teams of Turkey and Mexico. Player wise, Tuncay and any unexpected new managers.

Thanks DodgeeD. I have never seen the AI do well with TFC, but at least they're in the playoffs...

Rizhiquan are usually a strong team and end up challenging for promotion, but haven't actually seen them get to the Super League. Not surprised by the national team results, but do keep me posted if one of them make the World Cup. :D

Anyways...

@DodgeeD

  • Estudiantes Santander - 2012/2013 is their first year in the Liga de Ascenso (Premier Division A), and against all odds, they manage to win the Opening Stage, but lose in the final to Leon. They qualify for playoffs in 5th place in the Closing Stage but lost in the Quarter-Finals. They're 2nd in the Average Points so unless they don't win a single game next year, they won't be any trouble in terms of relegation
  • Stoke City - they have remained around mid-table, with their best finish being 12th twice ('08-'09, and '12-'13). Pulis left Stoke in 2010 to manage Blackburn and now with Villa. They hired Dave Jones and he is still their manager
  • Tai Po - They were relegated in 2009/10 but they immediately gained promotion back in 2011/12 and finished in 4th. In 2012/13 they finished 3rd.
  • Olimpo - now in the Premier League after getting promoted in 2012/2013
  • Turkey - 20th WR. 4th in their Euro Qualifying group. Atm, they're 1st in the WC Qualifying group though.
  • Mexico - 8th WR. Gold Cup winners in 2009 and 2011. 2010 WC: lost to Germany in Quarter-Final
  • Tuncay - now with Galatasaray after leaving Stoke on a free. 77 Turkish caps with 25 goals. The previous season he had 17 goals, 6 assists to 47 total games.

Stoke City

They also were FA Cup finalists in 2029

Mexico (ranked 8th)

Turkey (ranked 5th)

The World Cup final they lost was against my Italy side, after that I resigned and took the Turkey job

dafuge - It seems from your screenie that Turkey have specialised in reaching the latter stages of tournaments but never quite made it all the way. I bet you can change that. ;)

AS OF 26 July 2012

+ Gillingham - 7th first season, 3rd the next but lost in the playoffs but in 11/12 they came first and won promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship under Roy McFarland who has now retired with Stuart Gray replacing him. Their free transfer of Danny Webber their best bit of business, with him being top scorer (23 goals) in their promotion winning season.

+Canada - No qualification into the World Cup (2010). Currently ranked a very low 117th and are in a group with Mexixo, Jamaica and Guatemala for the 2014 World Cup.

+China - Currently Ranked 102nd in the World. Were in a group with Japan, Singapore and Myanmar for the Third Round of World Cup Qualifying but failed to qualify with Japan and Singapore progressing instead. Zheng Zhi is currently their best performer.

+Hong Kong - Ranked 186th in the World, failed to get past the first round of World Cup qualifying (2014) losing out to Palestine. No more information sorry.

Wouldn't mind seeing how Charlton, Jonjo Shelvey, Chris Solly, Yado Mambo and Sean McGinty are doing.

+Charlton - Are currently residing in the Championship after promotion from League 1 in the 10/11 season through the playoffs but would have been promoted the year before had it not been for Brighton beating them in the playoff semi's. Kevin Blackwell is the current manager.

+Jonjo Shelvey - Has made 5 youth appearances for England whilst featuring regularly for Charlton the entire length of my game. Average ratings, 09/10(7.30) 10/11(7.28) 11/12(7.10), scoring 34 goals and setting up 22 over this 3 year period.

+Chris Solly - Went on loan first season to Oxford and didn't do too well but since then has featured regularly for Charlton playing averagely. Has only got one youth cap for England.

+Yado Mambo - Funnily enough he came on loan to my Hereford side only last season and did very well so am looking to get him back for this season but because he is a free agent now I am struggling to meet his wage demands. At his time in Charlton colours he was always out of favour only making 9 appearances whilst he was there.

+Sean McGinty - Was bought by Man United in his first season for an undisclosed fee but then never featured for them. Two years later he eventually moved to St.Mirren in Scotland for free making 7 appearances upon arrival. Has 8 youth caps for Ireland.

Sunderland

Darren Bent

Jordon Henderson

Kevin Phillips

any news on this lot?

+Sunderland - First season they came a respectable 8th but next season they finished 15th. In this same season they became runners up in the FA Cup losing out tho Tottenham 4-1 in the Final. 9th position in 11/12. Big signings have included; James McFadden, James Morrison, Colin Kazim Richards and Tom Huddlestone who came from Liverpool for 9.25M.

+Darren Bent - Still at Sunderland with a mere 37 goals over 3 years but is still regarded as indespensable to the club despite his poor performances.

+Jordon Henderson - Has found himself on the horizon of the first team for most of the previous seasons but will be looking to burst into the new season with the departure of Andy Reid to Celtic.

+Kevin Phillips - Is 39 years of age now and finds himself on the free agents list after a 2 year stint with Kilmarnock performing well in the limited appearances he got.

How are Shrewsbury Town doing on anybodys games please?

Have they reached the Premier League for anybody? (doubt it ;))

And Telford as well please

+Shewsbury Town - Still in League 2 after three straight mid-table finishes so relatively average.

+Telford - Still in Blue Square North, narrowly missing out on the playoffs for the first two seasons but last season they finished 2nd but failed to get promoted after losing out in the playoff semi's to Droylsden.

There you go everyone :)

Thanks for the updates

hursty2 - McGinty actually starts the game at Man Utd, I'm just interested to see how he develops as he would have been our best prospect IRL from the new group of u18s.

Shame about Mambo, never seems to do well. In some games he should develop into at least a Football League player, not sure why he isn't.

If only he still was :( Probably would have made his first team debut at some point this season if he stayed. Can't blame him for taking the chance to play for Man Utd though.

As a United fan I'm glad he joined as he's a talented player. Will be interesting to see if he can break through here. But it is unfortunate that this is happening. Nowadays the big boys are poaching off great talent even before the motherclubs can get "anything" for them. Circumvention of the new regulations really.

Have FC United risen up the leagues (beyond Conference North) in anyone's game?

For those playing with Uncle Ron's or Superbladesman's files, has Trafford gone upwards and onwards?

Charlton: Won league one season one and have since become a midtable league one side, currently managed by Lee Clark

Shelvey: Plays for me at arsenal, is a star for england and 2nd choice behind fabregas at club

Solly: left for crystal palace for free in 2011/12 and then moved to ipswich for 1M, and they are in the championship

Mambo: moved to rochadale for free in 2012/13 and then moved to stockport 2 seasons later for 9k

Mcginty: Moved to chesterfield for free in 2011/12 for free and then later on he moved to northampton for 130k

Gillingham: Where relegated to league 2 in 2012/13 managed by Stuart Gray

Sunderland Midtable team in the prem very dull.

Darren bent remains at sunderland with a decent scoring record.

Henderson sold for 2.7mil to Notts forest 2012/13

Phillips finished his career at QPR and he is now a manager without a job.

Can anyone tell me how the following are doing on their save:

St. Albans City

Peter Smith

Solomon Shields

Paul Hakim

Godfrey Poku

Jonathan O'Donnell

If you cannot be bothered to look up the players, then just let me know how St. Albans City have got on please!

Thanks. :)

St Albans

20 odd years in the wilderness :(

None of the players appear in my game, I'm assuming they all retired and disappeared some time ago.

How are AC Ajaccio and Albacete B. S.A.D getting on in people's saves?

Both are in lower leagues of countries that have not been loaded in my game, so theya re blank for me.

Perhaps someone else might be able to answer it?

I was hired mid-way during the 3rd round of the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup - was in 3rd and needed to beat both the US and Honduras to leap Honduras and get the last stage - somehow managed it (yay new mananger syndrome :p) 2-0 over the US and 2-1 at Honduras. Got third over Jamaica in the final stage (no hope of being anywhere near Mexico or the US who qualified easily - no such heroics against them as in the first game) so went to the World Cup :D

In the World Cup I was drawn with England, Colombia and the Czech Republic. First match against Colombia didn't start too well, was down 3-0 at half-time. Fought back well but lost it 4-3 in the end. (Czech Rep drew with England)

Guys bounced back incredibly mananging to trash the Czech Rep 3-0 in a performance I still don't fully understand how they managed it. (Meanwhile England beat Colombia fairly easily)

So into the last game with a chance of qualfying if we could get a result against England...

Didn't really happen, was destroyed lost 4-0 and ended up 3rd in the group :o

The team is currently ranked about 55th iirc.
