So that'll put an end to whole starting 11's with ooanees. Bearing in mind that most of the sub-100 reputation teams have no starting players I get the feeling that getting promoted in the first season will be a rarer event. michaeltmurrayuk Posted February 17, 2008 Share Posted February 17, 2008 Marine League Two - 2011/12 So with promotion to the Football League, the board finally decided we should turn pro, they also decided to take away my transfer budget yet again, meaning I have to try and build a better team with no money (again). The fans did take to one of the players I signed a young Scottish Striker Sean Melville who'd been released from Bournemouth. With several squad players sold during the season, I'd managed to raise some funds and went out and signed some promising english youngsters - Striker Danny Naylor arrived for £14K from Preston, left winger James Harris arrived from Bradford for £10K, and Keeper Steve Lescott arrived from Blackburn for a club record £16K (well player record, one of my scouts was my biggest signing at £28K) One of our early games saw us play Crewe, who were fielding my ex-Keeper, Button who was sold to Bradford a few years ago for £95K (he only spent one year playing for me, not the three the game thinks). What followed was a 7-0 hammering of Crewe, glad I sold him then with my Keeper even getting in on the act with a pen. Though later on in the season my Keeper was removed from penalty taking after he missed twice against York, luckily Ameobi scored our third pen to save a point. In the end it was a comfortable season - never in danger of relagation or the title, we us ending comfortablly in the Playoffs. The playoffs drew us against Chester who we'd beaten in the league twice (3-0 and 1-0), but they decided to play dirty in the playoffs injuring three of my players, and our inablilty to keep the lead, saw the game end 2-2. In the second leg, we just didn't turn up and a 1-0 win was enough to send Chester to final, where they beat Yeovil. The final table shows in the end we just didn't win enough games. Club Infomation - Junior Brown is the first person on the fav. list, whilst the board finally agreed to upgrade our facilities. Squad - Ameobi and Brown again lead the line, and squad again is boosted by loanee's, though it does seem harder each year to bring players back on loan - Liverpool's Hungarian Striker Simon, was happy to play in the Blue Square North and Premier, but not League Two, preferring to sit in Liverpool's reserve squad. Also on his wayout is my ex-Spurs right back, who demanded a move to a bigger team and leaves to joint recently relagated QPR (to League Two, to become the worst ex-Premier League club) for £160K. Overall Best XI - See's no change, though Ameobi becomes the first player to score 100 goals (and then 100 league goals, bext XI seems to include all goals and games) for the club. Cups It appears I have no screens for the cups (yep they went that well) Our Carling Cup debut saw us drawn away to Derby County who beat us 2-0. Our Johnstone's Trophy debut ended the same with a 4-3 defeat to Stockport County. The FA Cup brought some joy, the First round saw us beat Morecombe 1-0, the second round drew us away to Bristol City, we came away with a creditable 2-2 drew (I'm pretty sure they were given a late dubious pen to equalise), and before the replay the Third round was drawn with the winners facing a money spinning trip to Old Trafford, but that didn't inspire our team and we lost 1-0. Hopefully this won't be the same case as FM2007 where I spent several seasons stuck in League Two. (One more update to go...) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well as i am off work sick at the moment i have had the chance to play the whole first season and have won the league! I hardly had any players that weren't greyed out to begin with, so asked the club for a Parent club, and they gave me Charlton. The players from there helped me get promotion while my scouts went out and searched for freebies for me! Anyway, the star was Iziah Mcleod who scored bags of goals and was the main reason i got promoted. As soon as i linked up with Charlton they sent him to me along with an other, which was a result. At start of the season the board allowed me to now scout all of Europe, even though I had no money. Now, all of a sudden, even though I have £2.7m in the bank, the board have suddenly reduced scouting area back to UK and Ireland Never seen it happen before and whilst I don't think it's a bug, have no idea why it would've happened. Indy216957 Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 I would say that this season was a success. We finished 4th but got beat by Stevenage 2-1 in the playoff semis. Unfortunately one of my strikers Rob Elvins was injured for the playoffs and I think that was the problem. Considering we were supposed to finish in last, this was a surprise. My player of year without a doubt is Ryan Crowther. I signed him on a free and he was simply amazing down the right wing. He was constantly putting defenses under pressure with his speed and flair on his way to recording the most assists in the league. Hopefully I can find a left wing couterpart for him in the offseason so that I won't have to play the ball down the right flank only anymore. Was a season where the tactic that brought my title in the first season had little effect in the second season, apart from the Setanta Shield. It all came down to the last day of the season and our boys let it slip, finished 21st and relegated! But, in a funny old twist we won the setanta shield trophy! So 2 titles in 2 season isn't bad. On to the fight to get back out of the Blue Square South. Here are screenies from season 2. The board wanted a serious title challenge which i agreed too, as i couldnt see any other option. The season started off slow, so i made a drastic decision and changed my tactic, used the players my scouts had found and the teams form really took off ! I have won the league by a mile, with a few loanees and youngsters that have taken to the tactic and it has been such a relief as i could see the sack coming! Here are the screenies from season 3. wisla_krakow Posted February 21, 2008 Share Posted February 21, 2008 wisla_krakow - Billericay Town (11/12 League One & 12/13 Championship) I've played on quite a bit from my last update from November 2011, I'm now in May 2013! I'll quickly sum up the last two seasons and throw in a few screenies now to update myself before I add my new positioning on the site. Firstly, we won League One at the first attempt, which was a fantastic achievement, my January buys from League Two came into bloom and brought up onto success. Sadick Adams the key man again this season, scoring 34 goals in all competitions, with Marko Koksa emerging as a great talent for the future (which he would prove next season). Here's a league table screenie of our league win. Final League One Table Onto this season in the Championship, we again overachieved by all expectations. With several foreigners who had arrived on the player search joining on a free as well as several that I had trialled/scouted from the world transfer page, we brought together a squad capable of reaching the play-offs. We stayed in the play-off region throughout the season, finishing 3rd on the final day with a 3-2 away win over 5th place Coventry. We blitzed the play-offs, thrashed Derby 6-0 on aggregate in the semis, and despite Wolves being a bogey side most of the season, they were easily beaten 5-0 at Wembley, which saw us reach the Premiership. Our success was in no small part down to the roles played by Marko Koksa and John Fleck, my strike force for the season. Fleck will be missed when he returns to Reading in the summer, unless I can tempt him to join permenantly. In the Carling Cup, we beat Bristol Rovers, Coventry and notably Tottenham Hotspur before losing 2-1 at home to Chelsea. We again had bad luck in the Championship, after scraping past Barnsley in the 3rd round, we outplayed West Ham on two occasions, only to draw 1-1 both times, and to crash out on penalties in the replay. I rely on loans, to provide some squad depth, looking through my transfer history I've actually loaned more players per season since I got out of the Blue Square North. My parent team Liverpool tend to be nice to me (apart from last season where I loaned Man Utd's youngsters), get about 8 players a season from them, the problem half the time is making sure your not using more than 5 in a match. Do you wait for them to send you someone, or do you go and ask? I don't think Liverpool have ever offered me anyone decent. One thing I have struggled with is getting a feeder team, the board have been responding with we would give you a feeder team but no-one is interested, though last time I asked I got offered non-league Tonbridge Angels who aren't much use. Main tip would be spend the time at the start searching all the uncontracted players and offering loads of trials. It's a long time but will be very beneficial in the long run. Good luck. The AI from my experience always like to keep at least 1 MC back along with normally a fullback. However, in the recent game against Leicester they kept back their MC who had 20 Jumping and 20 Heading. After that though, Darlington caught us and eventually we fell behind. I must admit that although my team still able to secure promotion via the playoofs in second place, it sucks that we had 100 points and still couldn't win the league. My player of the year has to be Donovan Simmonds. His goal scoring record was phenomenal and he wasn't even apart of the team for the entire year.
