It may be a bit later than the real thing but it is here, the CSE Euro 2012 using FM 2012.

I haven't asked GCB to do this but he is inactive so took responsibility!

As in the other thread:
What I need from you:

Regular forum visits over the coming days.
Football Manager 2012 on your machine.
A commitment to regular participation in the event - whichever country you end up managing!

The Plan of Attack:

As soon as I have 16/16 forum members ready to take part, I will randomly assign everybody a team from the Euros.

I will then upload a FM12 save game somewhere.

You will need to download it and choose a squad of 23 players for your country. This will be PM'd to me.

I will enter 16/16 human managers on my FM12 game and select the appropriate squad of players.

You will need to pick a starting eleven and tactics for the game.
These can be standard FM tactics or your own which can be emailed to me at a later date.

You will give me some instructions for substitutions and tactical changes.

I will play the games and report via the forum.

You can change your line-up and tactics for each game via PM.

Eventually, we will crown a CSE Euros winning manager.


I hope you're interested. If you're not completely sure how it's going to work, bear with it because it will work in the end as long as you can do the three things above. (Or read through the previous thread)

As people have pointed out I have made a horrible mistake, I knew there were only 16 teams competing but put 32 in opening post. No sorry, only the 16 teams from the current competition. I have got them into the finals on my game after a little tweaking!

CZECH-REPUBLIC

Since their independence from Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic have never failed to qualify for the European Football Championships. In 1996, their first entry into the tournament, they achieved their best finish in the competition finishing 2^nd. Can they replicate that this year?

England have always been backed by their nation, not this year. Less is expected of the boys after recent tournaments. Hopefully they are still contenders.

Not the first team you would put your money on, but that is what Denmark have to their advantage and they used this in 1992, Will they win it again?

Since splitting from the Soviet Union Russia have never really impressed. With a 3rd place in 2008 they might consider themselves on the rise. Many of their players are now at big clubs so their is definitely potential.

With the likes of Arshavin and Zhirkov I am hoping to boss the midfield. Defence is a little bit more of a concern for Russia but really a solid all round team. Bring it on!

It will be a large file guys, I selected all players from Europe... 40.29MB I'm sorry if this is too large, I just wanted to be sure we got every player possible!

Date wise, this is straight after the playoffs so it will allow more room for blending. Down side is you don't know your available players BUT here is my schedule:

SUNDAY/MONDAY: New thread, upload new save at date of player registration.
TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: Deadline for player registration.
THURSDAY/FRIDAY: Deadline for 1st match team

And so on. At each interval I will allow update of tactics too.

ALSO. When sending me a tactic can you also specify:
-The staff you want (Or keep them, bear in mind if you get rejected you will be without a member of staff up until deadline 2)
- Match prep (1 Type only)
- Friendlies to organise (No teams that compete unless both can agree on a date!)

Struggling between choosing the best players in game vs the ones who have actually done well in tournament. Namely Ballotelli and Cassano. May have to leave Ballotelli out as his match ratings for Man City were poor and he was shipped on loan to FC Porto and because of his personality would perhaps be more of a hindrance than an asset unfortunately.

I usually use shouts/tactical changes depending on how things are going so really not sure how I'm going to set up my tactic as of yet.

You need to send Stothy your tactic first so he can use team blend and then when team registration is required he will upload a new save so we know who is available. We have until 00:01 on Sunday to submit our tactics or defaults will be used. He explains at the bottom of the teams lists post.

After I sent my tactic I ran with Italy through the Euro's and got to the final (holidaying games) where I was hammered 4-0 by France. I am playing Ballotelli regardless of his attitude though and he missed 3 CCC in the final. Don't worry though Mario, I will keep the faith.

There's only one difference for us, we have to play against a proper tactic and a human person Same here though, if I beat Spain 5 - 0 i'd be over the moon
