Only issue could be the A320M motherboard though, since it apparently requires a BIOS update. B450 costs a few bucks more, but should be guaranteed to work from the box. yeah its an issue, newer A320M boards do have the update but i'm not sure how you'd know when buying online. If you are thinking of building your own make sure to read jonnyguru reviews of PSU's. The power supply is the backbone of any PC and its the corner that is always cut in pre built systems. Its the only thing I won't compromise on even on a budget. If anyone thinks that building your own will be hard, I built my first in an afternoon using youtube tutorials and I can't even put up a shelf usually, it's more like lego these days

I don't know an awful lot about Macs tbh but you could add an SSD if you haven't already which will make your Mac feel generally quicker. Unfortunately though, as alluded to by Smurf on this thread, it won't really make a huge difference to FM other than save/load times. Best thing yo can do is try the Demo and hope they've made processing more streamlined.

Guest
To both, all your options will be great for FM. If you can afford it then the more expensive second options in your posts are the better hardware, especially @hursty2 as the Intel or AMD decision always won out by Intel based on the small sample in the yearly benchmark threads that have been done since FM14. Guest
For your average FM’er who also does not lock the cpu frequency at the max setting the 7700HQ is probably the better option if there is a cost saving as they’ll not push game processing to use the additional cores & turbo boost frequency of the 8750H. Sweetleftfoot
Hi, I have reading the forum that some people (especially smurf) have been very actively helping a lot of people with suggestions of which new system to get for the upcoming FM 2019, which lead me to ask for your suggestions. I have been using a MacBook Pro 15 since early 2013 and got quite use to it and apple care has been great for 3/4 year but apple doesn’t sell apple care beyond that period and my graphics card got over heated (fried) n needs to be changed which is very expensive and the warranty is only for 6 months after repairs. So I wanna get a new laptop preferably something light (ultra book) and not a thick gaming laptop. Need help choosing one! The thing is, I feel Apple hasnt done anything earth shattering on their laptops for a while and have been lagging behind with updating the hardware. So I am considered returning back to the Windows, but what’s been bothering me is: I don’t do video editing etc but I work in marketing and sales in the media & advertising industry and usually get creatives in Adobe illustrator or CoralDraw from clients which I need to open and discuss with my creative and operations teams so don’t need a very heavy duty graphics card but would want my new laptop to be able to play and watch 3D match engine on FM. Therefore, would integrated graphic work or do I need dedicated GPU? Don’t want a thick or heavy laptop. What would you suggest? I have looked at XPS 13 and 15 and before 2013 was using and XPS 15 laptop, but it is possible to play FM 19 on XPS 13 with 3D match engine? I usually only play 4 or 5 nations (Eng till L2, Spain Segunda division, ITA Serie B, Fra Lige 2 and Ger 2nd division with large Database). I’m open to a thin gaming laptop (I hope they are not very expensive) but don’t like too much RGB lighting on it as need it for work. The Brand should have international warranty, as I sometimes travel for work upto 3-4 months at a stretch. Spec shortlist so far: 8th Gen i7, 16GB, min 256/512 SSD, 4K or Fast FHD Touch screen Feel free to ask for anymore info you need. Thank you in advance

Guest
The positives: It has a better graphics card however the 1050 in the other is fine for FM at the moment, it also has more RAM but again the 16GB in the other is fine. The Negatives: It does not have an SSD, doesn’t make any difference for FM but does slow laptop boot time, the main negative is the chassis the other one is designed with gaming in mind so has better airflow & an upgraded air cooling system that will be better at keeping temps down when playing FM which depending on your game setup can be very demeaning on the hardware which increases the excess heat that’s generated. Personally I’d go for the Omen, even with the extra cost because the more efficent heat management is worth it.

oliscott
Need some input on a new laptop, will just be used for browsing and FM but It will be for a network game not one I'm running myself. Would I be right in thinking that I would just need a decent enough Graphics card in it to take care of the interface and match engine the rest of the grunt work will be done by the hosts PC? So I could negate the need for decent Ram and possibly an SSD?

Andy H
Looking for some help when it comes buying a laptop. My budget probably is about 800 ish max. Would love a graphics card where I could play FM in high settings for a change as the last couple I’ve had to play on the lowest setting. What’s different playing fm on the highest or high graphics setting in comparison to the lowest or low setting? Would a GeForce gtx 1050ti 2GB or 4GB thereabouts enable me to play at the higher settings or would I need to go higher? Also I’d only be using the laptop for FM gaming wise too. Any help would be great.

I’ve ended up on this https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/A556UQ-DM1469T-ASUS-Vivobook-A556UQ-DM1469T_2255403.html can anyone see any problems there? I’m trying to run FM as best I can while being as stingy as I can (while getting a laptop instead of a desktop PC). I know next to nothing about laptops but from what I’ve read this should be a good fit? I have read that i7 is good, and 8GB of ram should be more than enough for FM? I think I read that SSD has no impact on game processing speed, just boot up times so if I’m being tight, no SSD is fine? I have no idea what graphics stuff I need, or what this laptop offers but hopefully someone smarter than myself can let me know if this will suffice? I think the laptop linked should have FM running nicely, would just be nice if someone could let me know I haven’t gone wrong somewhere, or that I’m not over paying for something I don’t need to be. Also if I wanted to “add” SSD in the future, is that something I could do with this laptop? Thanks!

If you want a good experience the best I can find being as stingy as possible is https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/NX.GP8EK.003-Acer-Aspire-7-A715-71G-57YT_2156569.html However, if you want to keep it even stingier than this would be better than what you linkedhttps://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/81AX00CBUK-Lenovo-V330_2276809.html Or if you want a 17 inch screen https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/NX.GSWEK.004-Acer-Aspire-5-A517-51-52FU_2348163.html

Any thoughts guys?

Understand your budget is 800 - however, this is just 900 https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/FX504GM-EN151T-ASUS-FX504GM-EN151T-Gaming-Laptop_2344468.html Failing that This would be very good for 800 https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/FX503VM-EN184T-ASUS-FX503VM-EN184T_2315679.html You might have a few more gains in a new processor - however, sacrafice a little on graphics card here - not much, and I still think you could play on full detail https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/FX504GE-E4031T-ASUS-FX504GE-E4031T-Gaming-Laptop_2318164.html

Guest
@Jimbokav_Jr_1996 Get your Dad to stump up with some extra funds, after all he's to blame for you catching the FM bug, @bennytee alternative is an excellent choice for FM if you can manage the additional costy.
