Just about to start up a Newcastle save. Really admire the philosophy of signing quality relevant-unknown players at a reasonable price allowing for a decent profit if sold on. Will be looking towards the Scandinavian and South American markets along with the lower leagues of the major Nations for a bargain or two.

Can you whack up a screenshot of him??

Given him the number 9 shirt for the coming season, so he'll be my leading striker now that the likes of Ba, Cisse and Carroll have all departed.

I have deleted a lot of the countries/leagues that I had running as the game was taking ages in the close season, so instead of having about 200k players I now have about half that, so hopefully the game will run a lot quicker :).

I am still in the close season looking for potential signings and arranging some pre season friendlies. I have put a £4.5m bid in for Jack Butland which has been accepted so if he agrees to sign he will become Timmy Krul's understudy between the sticks.

Jaime Romero Gomez is coming in from Udinese, a player I signed early last season but with him being on loan at Granada I have to wait until July 1st for him to sign. I wish he wasn't coming in now though as I don't play with wingers anymore, so he might have to go on loan this season with a view to selling him.

I have also agreed to sign a few players on Bosman free transfers such as Alberto Paloschi, Salvatore Bocchetti, Nacer Chadli, Muhammed Demirci, Daniele Rugani and Vladimir Weiss.

The board have only give me a £6m budget this season which has become considerably more now with me selling Ba and Lallana for a combined £37m. Quite a lot of my squad are wanted by other clubs now and there value has increased quite a bit from the first season so I could be tempted to sell if the price is right as Leslie Crowther would say

Nice freebies there - went after Demirci but couldn't get a work-permit, now he's rotting in some Turkish no mark side that I couldn't even begin to spell or pronounce. He's got some top stats, wanted to get him tutored and develop him.

I can't remember if he got a work permit or not, I'll have to wait and see when he arrives, if not he will go to my work permit feeder club Mons, who have just been relegated from the Jupiler League :(

From what I remember of him, he has some shoddy determination, so will be one of those players that has all the potential to turn into a top player once he's got his act together - so if he doesn't get a work permit and has to go to your feeder I doubt he'll pull up any trees their.

Just played club Brugge in the Europa League, won 6-0 :p Anita scored a worldie from 40 yards, Ryan Taylor 30 yard free kick, Sammy Ameobi towering back post header and Romain Amalfitano hattrick from the left wing. May have only been Club Brugge but that's possibly one of my best performances in years of FM, everyone got an average rating of 7.8 or higher :D

I'm in awe of Sammy Ameobi right now! He's just bagged a brace against Arsenal to take him to 9 for the season, and I'm only in October :)

This is impressive! What does he look like for you? Hoping to give him his chance this season.

My Director of Football is really starting to annoy me now , he still hasn't made a offer to any players and he hasn't attempted to sell my players on the unwanted list, I must be doing something wrong. I have set him to find and make offers for youth and first team players, does anybody know what I am doing wrong ?.

This is how my staff responsibilities are set up.

Neither of my DOFs have found or brought me any young players for the future either :( Just players for the first team, and out of around 10 players brought to me I've only bothered with one - Azpliceuta.

Invaribly they won't sign the player I add onto the transfer targets, coming back to me saying their too expensive or some spiel like that. Example I added Moritz Lietner onto the target list this summer, for the dof to claim Dortmund's valuations were too off - only for me to go and just buy him like you would do normally. Although he did complete a deal on Bittencourt though.

Made it all the way through the close season without a bid or even a murmur of interest in any of my key players, strange after all the clubs that seemed to be hovering toward the end of the last season. However I'm not complaining :D Means I still have the Dembii leading the line with Ben Arfa and Cabaye providing the ammunition and Tiote...well being Tiote really.

Finished my summer spending by completing two of my DoF's deals, signing Patrick Hermann from Gladbach for £8.75 million and then Mario a right back from Villareal for £5.75 million, Pretty happy with his two deals there, Hermann means I have the option of playing Ben Arfa at AMC instead and he scored on his debut against Cardiff while Mario's signing means I now have a specialist full back for each flank and a couple of players capable of playing either side as well. I'm planning to raid the Bundesliga again during the January window if I can to complete a deal for Hiroshi Kiyotake, a Japanese AMC at Nurnberg who caught my eye while I was having a couple of other players scouted.

I'd be very happy if I can keep the squad together and add him after Christmas.

I think I am just going to terminate his contract, although it will cost the club quite a bit as he has 4 years left on his contract at £15k a week.

I have been unsettling Hiroshi Kiyotake during the first season and he has finally put a transfer request in, his asking price has been set at £11.75m which I think is very reasonable for a player of his quality.

Some of the players on the transfer list at the moment are unbelivable, the likes of Yann M'Vila, Ander Herrera, Falcao, Javier Hernandez, Javi Garcia, Benat, Andrea Poli, Lukas Podolski and the list goes on

How often did you talk to the press about him to have an effect Col?

There's a lot of the same names on the transfer list on my save as well, either because they want a move to a bigger club, or their current clubs are under performing. I'm a little worried about Ben Arfa as he keeps getting left out of the France squad and the press keep hinting he needs a move for the sake of his international career

It was every couple of months last season so its took pretty much a season to unsettle him.

Ben Arfa gets into the French squad on my game, he doesn't start many games but he gets into the squad most of the time.

That's a sickener mate, have you got decent cover for them ?

Yeah we're fairly well covered in most positions right now, despite a summer clearout....but they were three of my best performers last season, was hoping they'd get the chance to pick up where they left off.

Bloody hell my Director of Football is alive :rolleyes:, he's put a £10.25m bid in for Jan Kirchhoff, but I won't be signing him though as he would only be 5th choice centre back.

Who have you got there already? Kirchhoff has found his feet really quickly for me, 4 games, avergae rating 7.55 and 2 MotM awards.

Steven Caulker, Steven Taylor, Salvatore Bocchetti, Simon Kjaer, Stefan Strandberg (selling him), James Tomkins (loaning him out), Mike Williamson (selling him), and the youngsters who I am looking to loan out.

My Director of Football is intent on signing a right back this summer - pretty much because the AI clearly doesn't recognise Vurnon Anita as a right full back, meaning that it just thinks I've got Cesar Az. He's sealed deals on Timothy Chandler, and the guy below, as well as praising a Japanese right back who's name escapes me, plays in Germany though. The DOF has brought me Kirchoff, Munoz, Chandler and this guy this summer, all of whome I haven't bothered with - but all of good quality. He'll really impress me when he goes and gets me Yann M'Villa or Iker Munian. Have added a handful of players on to the end of contract target list, Munian being one of them, but not sure if I trust him to get any of them, as my last one; Comolli, who wasn't as good as this Italian guy failed miserably in getting Honda on a end of contract, instead him choosing to go to PSG on tiny wages.

This is the latest deal he's sealed, have canceled but posting up for people to see as he looks to be a decent young player at a reasonalbly low price; anyone heard of him, haven't seen him mentioned before?

@col That's sickening! Not to account for the signing on fee or agent fee, or appearance fee, or goal bonus! Going to have to bite the bullet and renew some deals on Cabaye, Tiote, Krul soon. God I hate footballers sponging all my clubs money.

Coloccini has missed most of pre-season this year after I sent him back to Argentina due to him being home-sick! Comes back, still home-sick. In the meantime he's completely forgotten how to play in the sweeper position - just as I move to incorporate a sweeper in my team.

Hopefully he'll man up and see his contract out and doesn't throw his toys out of the pram - in the meantime I've spotted potential in Anita to play as a Libero, and started training him to play there!

.

on staff responsibilities you need to put transfers outgoing sell players on transfer list to the dof. Then he should start to sell players

Season 2014/14

Had a bit of a stinker last season, finishing a lowly 7th place in the League, only softened by two Domestic Cup wins, and a Champions League quarter final. Heck, if it wasn't for the League Cup or FA Cup win there'd be no Thursday nights on Channel 5 for this season! So without the Champions League revenue coming in this year I expect the finances to take an aggressive tumble towards the red.

This coming season I've targeted for European Qualification to ease boardroom pressure, although my personal target is to challenge for the title - as the squad I've now assembled should be wiping the floor with the majority of the league on a weekly basis; as well as this I'll be disappointing if I can't win the Europa League. Quite like this competition anyhow, usually in FM it's bypassed for years and years in the CL, and I don't get to play Europe's second grade sides, plus it gives me a chance to play some youngsters - that whilst writing this, I've realised I've loaned most of said 'youngsters' out!

Transfers;

INCOMING;

Leonadro Bittencourt - £17.5M from B.Dortmund -- Moritz Leitner - £14.75M B.Dortmund -- Paul Pogba - Free -- Fabrice Olinga - Free

Bittencourt and Leitner both arrive from Dortmund, joining fellow German hotshot Mario Gotze in my Newcastle side. Both a young and exceptional ability, with them both topping my scouts lists throughout Europe. Paul Pogba was released from Juventus in the summer after the AI making a hash of his development, likewise with Olinga at Malaga. Both of these players have could have something within them - but as you can see, will first need a helping hand through some tutoring. Pogba has been starved of game time in the last two years, so he'll jump straight into my team in Europe and the League cup, whilst hopefully Cabaye can tutor him.

OUTGOING; Papiss Cisse (£25M, Benfica) - Andy Carroll (£3.5M, QPR) - Marcus Maddison (£875K, Nottingham Forest) - Nile 'not-so-power' Ranger (Free, Ipswich Town)

Haven't really been able to see the best from Cisse, undeniably a top striker, but went missing for large stints last season, and failed to stand out in a so-so season. Therefore there were no great hardships with selling him, with the main reason so that I can promote Adam Campbell to the first team, in rotation with Alberto Paloschi. The Carroll signing was brought more through the heart than the head, had a decent season, but was on a £90k a week deal and had to go as I re-shaped the pecking order within my front line. Similarly with Maddison; a player with potential to be very good I think, but didn't quite get it right - couldn't get him tutored properly and a lack of game time have hampered his development.

Jovetic went missing for a few games. At 19 goals he just stopped scoring, I'm like "wat"

I'm currently 4th in the League, which I'm happy with so far - pushing for third and second but Arsenal are miles ahead of everyone. We've only scored 38 and we've conceded 26, whereas Arsenal have scored 61 and conceded 22. A lot of my goals have come in dickings from other teams, like Chelsea. Kept a lot of clean sheets, Ter Stegen has been awesome, and since signing Schurrle (11apps, 6 goals, 3 assists) Jovetic has lit up on form (after a wording from my in a private chat) with 7 goals in 3 games. Loving it.

I'll have played United 5 times this season and Tottenham 4 times, its ridiculous. Although I beat United in the CAP 3-0 over two legs and beat them once in the league, drew the other. Final game will be FA Cup 6th round so we'll see there!

edit - seriously, Schurrle and Jovetic are like brothers. They instinctively know whats going on, they are just destroying teams left and right. Its absolutely awesome.

Sitting 7th going into the tail end of November and results have been up and down really, can beat Arsenal 2-1 but then draw with Stoke at home before beating Norwich 4-1 away. Once I get through the January window ill do a proper update with some screenshots and such.

Oh and I must add, currently Ba is injured so big Nic Helenious has stepped in to partner Cisse and the two are forming a very good partnership, Cisse as poacher and Helenious as target man I strongly recommend people having a look at him for cover.

Andre Schurrle - 19.5 million.

17 apps and 1 as a sub; 14 goals 6 assists.

Jovetic since January - 19 goals in December, 34 goals with 8 EPL games to go. *AWESOME* pair. Schurrle has been playing as an IF on the left wing.

I tried to get Schurrle this summer before start of the 2nd season as he'd asked for a transfer, but Bayern stomped in there and put the kibosh on that idea. Would have loved him on the left side with HBA on the right.

Aw unlucky man!

Just played QPR away in the league, it said we're underdogs - they are 12th, we're 4th - we won 8-0. Jovetic and Milner hattrick, Schurrle and Ayew with mad assists. Awesome.

Despite losing a lot of my better players, I won the Premier League in my third season. Kids came good, and managed to end up winning by a single point. Came down to the last game, and I had to get the same or better result as second place City. Opponents were.... City. A tight game, which thanks to a last minute goal ended 2-2. Won by a single point, but board were very pleased and following week offered me an extension of a further 2 years. Now there until June 2018.
