  1. Yeah it seems he didn't play. There was about 4 different journo's tweeting about it and loads of sh*t on Facebook so was bound to be some lies flying about
  2. So apparently we lost 6-0 today in the behind closed doors friendly at the SoL. Shelvey picked up an injury too
  3. Hi, I've had this niggling issue since about 2013 now, but it seems to be at it's worst in 2016. Basically I've made a custom view for my squad page (added about 5 columns to the Selection Info view), and it keeps changing the column sizes at random so it stretches off the right of the screen. Auto sizing all columns brings it all onto one screen, although some columns are way bigger than they need to be and some smaller. However give it a couple of weeks and it's all over the place again. Any ideas how to get the column sizes to just stick? P.S. I also find the manual sizing of columns to be very irritating, sometimes it stretches from the right, sometimes from the left. And some columns just won't resize on some occasions, instead it resizes the column either side. Very frustrating!
  4. Well I finished my first season yesterday, everything went quite well. Finished 5th in the league on 75 points and ended up with the best defense having conceded just 26 goals in the league. We were finalists in the League Cup, losing in the end 1-0 to Spurs. FA Cup wasn't that great, going out in the 5th round with a 0-2 defeat at Arsenal. We did however bag a trophy at the very end in a very surprising run in the Europa League! We finished top in our group, which consisted of Lyon, Debrecen and Spartak Moscow. Then the first knockout round was a pretty straightforward tie against BATE Borisov, won that 5-1 on aggregate. Up next was our group runners up Lyon, and a 3-0 pasting at St. James' was enough to win that one 6-3 on aggregate. The quarters was where I thought we'd bow out, coming up against Inter. Nevertheless a sturdy away performance and a lucky 1-0 at home sent us through 1-0 on aggregate to face Tottenham in the semis. Having lost to them twice already this season I wasn't hopeful, and that seemed to the way it was going again when we went 1-0 down after 5 minutes at White Hart Lane. However we fought back to grab a 1-1 draw, and did just enough in the return leg to win 1-0 to set up a final against Athletic Bilbao. I was quite worried going into this as they were 2nd in La Liga and hadn't lost a game in the Europa League so far. Somehow my pessimism wasn't necessary, and we ran out 3-0 winners in the end I've just made it through the summer window this morning, my incoming transfers were: Gioacchino Matera* - £2.8m Salvatore Bocchetti - Free Alberto Paloschi - Free Jack Butland - £4m Blaise Matuidi - Loan (£110k p/m) And out went: James Tavernier - £875k Gabriel Obertan - £2.8m Ryan Taylor - £2.1m James Perch - £5m Haris Vuckic - Loan Nile Ranger - Loan Romain Amalfitano - Loan Lubomir Satka - Loan Edit: Also here's some screenshots of the young players that featured quite a bit last season:
  5. Coming into the final 5 games of my first season sitting 4th in the league, although a free scoring Tottenham side (Adebayor has 35 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions) are only 2 points behind with a game in hand. We, in a huge contrast to real life, have the best defensive record in the division. In 33 games we've conceded 21 goals and kept 21 clean sheets. We've scored 52 goals, which isn't bad at all considering we very rarely concede. I had a bit of a busy summer window bringing in Mathieu Debuchy, Simon Kjaer, Jores Okore, Seamus Coleman and then at the last minute on deadline day was offered Nicolas Gaitan by his agent, so I snapped him up for a deal which could reach £8m altogether. I also loaned in Raheem Sterling and Emmanuel Frimpong for £40k p/m each, maybe didn't need them but have covered well, especially Frimpong during the ACoN. Out went Xisco (£3.5m), Jonas Gutierrez (£7m), Demba Ba (£7.5m) Mike Williamson (£3.5m) and Danny Simpson (£3.5m). Also loaned out were Nile Ranger, James Tavernier, Jak Alnwick, and Haris Vuckic. I had initially planned on not doing any business in January, but once again I was tempted by a pesky agent to buy Jose Sosa for £6m, and so far he's scored 4 and assisted 5 in 13 appearances so I'm quite pleased with that signing. I currently line up: GK: Krul DR: Debuchy DC: S.Taylor DC: Coloccini DL: Santon DM: Tiote DM: Anita MC: Cabaye AMR: Ben Arfa AML: Sosa ST: Cisse Then my main rotation/backup players are Coleman, Okore, Kjaer, Ferguson, Perch, Bigirimana, Abeid, Gaitan, Marveaux, Adam Campbell, Sterling, and Frimpong. Come next season the plan is to get rid of the rest of the rarely used fringe players (R.Taylor, Obertan, Shola etc...) and bring in some 18-21 year olds to fill out the team. I've already agreed deals for Bocchetti, Paloschi and a 15 year old, 5*, buy at all costs left winger from Italy
  6. I think I'm on the verge of getting Zouma to ask to leave St. Ettienne, although his manager now despises me so they might get stubborn with his price. Going great guns atm, in April 2nd season. Out of the League Cup to Chelsea, got Southampton in the FA Cup Semis, Barca in the CL Quarter finals and top of the league by 4 points. Adam Campbell is sooo good its ridiculous, 21 goals in 23 appearances so far. Also Cisse is rather good as well, 26 in 30
  7. I'm in the process of trying to develop Kitchen, Aarons, Lopez and Satka but none of them are looking that good. My assistant rates Satka the highest at 3 stars, with Kitchen only 1.5 stars . I do have 3 top notch Italian regens (5 stars) who are looking awesome at 16.
  8. Just if anyone is interested, there's a way to fix the tax bug that has been mentioned earlier. Basically what's happened is that there is a new regulation that comes into place from 2013 onwards where "corporation tax" is increased to 24%. However instead of just increasing it actually counts as a new tax, so the old one is still there aswell as the new one, so you're paying 2 lots of the same thing which amounts to just over double of what you were paying in the first season. Hope that makes sense SI have fixed the problem but it's looking like it won't be out until the next patch, and it wo't be save game compatible. The fix does involve the use of FMRTE though, if anyone is interested just drop me a PM.
  9. Oh yeah I missed out on Bocchetti too, Lille had already agreed to sign him for £7m in November before I could even try and tempt him
  10. Zouma is definitely on my list for this save, never managed to get him ever on FM12 so going to push the boat out if needs be to nab him for Newcastle. Good business Tommo I'm coming up to April 2013 now, and missed out on Paloschi as he decided to sign a new deal with AC Milan, gutted cos he looks an excellent tutor Still in all competitions, won the League Cup earlier on penalties against Stoke. Got Porto in the semi's of the Europa League and Fulham in the semi's of the FA Cup. In the league I'm 2nd, a point off Man Utd but we've got 2 games in hand so really it's mine to lose with 8 games left, 6 of which are at home
  11. I'm in awe of Sammy Ameobi right now! He's just bagged a brace against Arsenal to take him to 9 for the season, and I'm only in October
  12. Just played club Brugge in the Europa League, won 6-0 Anita scored a worldie from 40 yards, Ryan Taylor 30 yard free kick, Sammy Ameobi towering back post header and Romain Amalfitano hattrick from the left wing. May have only been Club Brugge but that's possibly one of my best performances in years of FM, everyone got an average rating of 7.8 or higher
  13. Sammy Ameobi's unreal on this He's made 7 appearances for me so far (4 starts) mainly on the left wing and he's netted 5 times and assisted 3! I'm on an 11 game win streak at the minute, still yet to lose and only points we've dropped was that 0-0 draw with the Scousers in the first league game. Cisse has 7 goals and 5 assists in 8 appearances. Ba has 3 in 6 and Ben Arfa 2 goals and 4 assists. Everything's really clicked into place now I've got Tiote, Anita and Cabaye bossing the midfield. Perch & Jonas not doing too badly either in DM when needed, but thankfully I've never had to play them both at the same time yet
  14. Started my Newcastle game last night. I managed to sell Xisco for £2.5m to Huddersfield but I'm still paying him £30k a week for a year but thought saving the £20k on wages plus £2.5m up front was a decent enough deal just to be rid of him. Also sold Rob Elliott for about £300k. Shane Ferguson, James Tavernier and Nile Ranger have gone out on loans. Coming in I've signed Wellington Nem, Adryan, Okore, Kjaer, Yttergard, and Drenthe. I'm not on my laptop so not sure on the exact prices but I think they all cost around £9m altogether. I've also (predictibally ) agreed to get Dzagoev in January. First game of the season we drew 0-0 at home to Liverpool, didn't play very well at all really so thought I was going to be up against it, but bounced back with a 3-0 aggregate win over Servette in the Europa League qualifying with a weak squad. Last match I played was away to West Ham, and another below par performance but thanks to that lad Ba we managed to scrape through with a 3-2 win. I'm putting the shaky team performances down to the fact Anita, Yttergard and Cabaye have been out for a few weeks so my 3 man midfield hasn't been able to control the games so far with Perch and Abeid/Gosling in there.
  15. PLaying with Wolves and just got promoted. Wigan, West Brom and Reading have been relegated and I've got bids in for about 8 players from those James McCarthy looks really good so I hope he chooses me over Newcastle. Also snapped up Stuart Holden after Bolton got relegated to League 1!
