hrbfcrule
November 2037 League: Trelleborg 0-2 Tord Alexander Pettersson (YP61) continued his good form with another goal. Our 2nd was an own goal but was forced from our constant pressure on the Trelleborg goal. U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 9: Ireland U21's 2-0 Sweden U21's Our qualification campaign is over as we collapse to Ireland. They were the better team and deserved to win. U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 9: Portugal U21's 1-0 Sweden U21's Played well as we only kept them to a single goal but thats not really a consolation as it still counts as a loss. Romanista1994
New year, new title, new stadium, new chance to get into the CL Group Stage. Great season, especially winning the title at your old stadium against the number two in the league, can't really do much about being drawn against such a big club in the CL, but your players gave them a very good match away. hrbfcrule
End of Season Report: IK Tord, Swedish Premier Division 2037 League Table, League Graph Squad We had our customary good start and despite having a bit of trouble during the latter stages of the season we managed to hold off our competitors to regain the title. We were helped by normal challengers AIK and Malmo not performing well. In the end we won the league fairly comfortably by 8 points. Swedish Super Cup We got lucky to secure the 1st silverware of the season. I like to think this match coupled with the 1st league game of the season (where we beat Malmo 2-0) helped contribute to their terrible season. Swedish Cup Our defence of the cup was a disaster as we fell at the 1st hurdle. After drawing 2-2 with Djurgarden we went out on our normally reliable penalties. Europa League We scraped past Ujpest 2-1 over 2 legs. Should have had a lot more than that but the main importance was getting through. We were handed a tough draw in the next round of AC Milan. We lost out in the 1st leg 3-1 before an inspired 2nd leg display saw us "only" lose 1-0. U19's League Finished 2nd, miles behind GAIS but nonetheless encouraging stuff. Included a 7-0 thrashing of Varbergs BOIS. Youth Players (At the Club) Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - Made a few appearances and was actually up to standard in them. Even got a goal despite his limited playing time. Peter Jansson (YP33) - Much better season which saw him become Tord's outright top league goalscorer. Hakan Larsson (YP35) - Not as many assissts as usual but still a great season for him. Jorgen Melki (YP37) - Had a dip in form last season but is back to his best this time, also getting my player of the season award. Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Conceded just 18 in the league this time with a massive 17 clean sheets. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Was average all season, never really got going. Erik Carlsson (YP41) - With the new stikers coming through he is slowly being pushed out of the team. Martin Hansson (YP43) - Continued to go downhill. Got a few new midfielders coming through so shouldnt be a problem. Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Didn't make an appearance but surprisingly didn't complain either. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - Couldn't live up to last season but still played a part this campaign. Hakan Neilsen (YP47) - Continued to get better although injuries shortened his season considerably. Jonas Andersson (YP49) - Started well and didn't completely peter out towards the end. Also our top scorer this season with 11. Erik Mansson (YP50) - Another great season, got a few assists to his name as well. Roger Magnusson (YP52) - Another defender who managed to get a few assists. Viktor Andersson (YP53) - Our great season for him, hes finally fulfilling his potential. Albin Carlsson (YP55) - A solid reliable defender, can't ask for much more. Erik Johannesson (YP56) - Continues to improve, i'll give him a couple more seasons before he becomes one of our best players. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) - Struggled to repeat last years heroics. Still 6 in 21 isnt bad. Oskar Johansson (YP60) - Not brilliant but I will keep persevering with him. Alexander Petterson (YP61) - A good season for him, ended the season in a bit of form lets hope he can take it into next season. Victor Lindgren (YP62) - Had a few appearances and I think he did well even creating a few goals. Olle Stenman (YP63) - Getting better, 2 or 3 seasons and he'll be 1st team standard. Stefan Hedlund (YP64) - A decent debut season, definately something to build on in the coming seasons. Retiring Players Anton Dahlberg (YP30) League History He made 369 league appearanaces and 406 appearances overall for the club in his 19 year stay. One of the greats at the club. Unfortunately he doesn't want to stay on as backroom staff so thats the last we will be seeing of him. Finances - As predicted we made a big loss of almost £2mill. Hopefully CL football next season will be able to right that. hrbfcrule
Thanks everyone How is Galatasaray doing? Nice work BTW, you've really done well to get this far! Galatasary I don't have the Turkish league loaded but I can tell you how theyve done in Europe Champions League Europa League Theyve been in Europe pretty much every season but have never won either competition. The furthest theyve got is the semi final of the Euro Cup in 2021 and got to the quarter finals of the Champions League in 2022
pikeal
Still can't believe Wigan haven't been relegated since their promotion in 2005. 33 years and counting - Come On You Latics! hrbfcrule
Still can't believe Wigan haven't been relegated since their promotion in 2005. 33 years and counting - Come On You Latics!Great career HRBFCRULE - Looking forward to the first superstar coming through and taking the club into the CL knockouts. It's quite incredible actually considering they are always seem to be one of the favourites to go down PS. Although I did note Wigan made it into europe in 2016/17 from the FA Cup, despite not being in the final! My 2 favourite words - de fault ! They reached the final of the FA Cup in 2016/17 which is how they qualified for Europe that year. Have any lower league teams in England reached the Premiership & settled in the league? No lower league team has managed to settle in the Premiership but a few have reached it. Notts County being the most prominent one, they are now a yo yo club betweent he Championship and Premiership. Yeovil and Bristol Rovers both had stints in the top division but are now back in the championship. There have been a few non league clubs working their way up as well although none have reached the premiership yet. Sutton Utd have reached the Championship and Farnbrorough and Tooting & Mitcham are both in League 1. There are a whole host of non league teams in League 2 the most surprising being Banbury who at the moment are 1st.

Raware
I see that there's quite a few 'smaller' Swedish clubs there or there abouts in the league now which is good to see. I'm just wondering what has happened to Elfsborg as they hold a small interest of mine since playing as them on FM07/08.

hrbfcrule
Well done on another league title. Hopefully, you make some improvements in the Champions League next time around I'd just be happy with group stages again. I see that there's quite a few 'smaller' Swedish clubs there or there abouts in the league now which is good to see. I'm just wondering what has happened to Elfsborg as they hold a small interest of mine since playing as them on FM07/08. League History They did reasonably well until 2033, lower mid table in the premiership bar 1 or 2 seasons. But since getting relegated in 2033 theyve really struggled in the 2nd tier and have only just survived relegation to the third tier on a couple of occasions. They've had more success in the cup having won it twice: in 2013 and 2028 and have reached the semi final in 2017. They have been entered into the Euro Cup 4 times: in 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2029. The 1st 2 times they reached the third qualifying round and the last 2 they only reached the 2nd qualifying round. In both their Swedish Super Cup appearances they lost, 1-0 to Gefle and 3-1 to IFK Goteborg. Dafuge will be happy to see tooting and mitchum slowly rising up the leagues That was my 1st thought when I saw them in League

noikeee
New stadium sounds like great news. I've noticed Aston Villa seem wildly successful? 6 Premiership titles and 5 Champions League finals (only one won, but still)? Any obvious reason for this, like a tycoon or have they just managed their squad better than others?
TheMister
HRB, liked the look of this so decided to read right through the thread and I'm only on page 3 just now. But I have a question about your early years for you. You rejected the youth and reserve leagues to save money, but didn't you ever have problems with players leaving for bigger clubs and then you were just left with nobody for their role? Any obvious reason for this, like a tycoon or have they just managed their squad better than others? Theyve never had a tycoon takeover so I am guessing they have just been managed much better than the other clubs. HRB, liked the look of this so decided to read right through the thread and I'm only on page 3 just now. But I have a question about your early years for you.You rejected the youth and reserve leagues to save money, but didn't you ever have problems with players leaving for bigger clubs and then you were just left with nobody for their role? Surprisingly none of my players have left for bigger clubs, occasionally some get unsettled by the interest in them from bigger clubs but I haven't had a bid for any player. How have Hibernian been doing? I don't know how theyve been doing in the league because I don't have the Scottish leagues loaded but they have had a few appearances in Europe. They got into the Champions League once in 2035 but lost out in the 3rd qualifying round. In the Euro Cup theyve made the group stages on 3 occasions (2017/18, 2022/23, 2035/36) but have never made it further.
hrbfcrule
March 2038 Swedish Super Cup: Tord 1-2e Umea FC The 1st match at the new stadium didn't quite go to plan. Hakan Larsson (YP35) scored the 1st ever goal in it just before half time but Umea equalised in the 2nd half before going on to get an extra time winner. League: Skarhamn 0-1 Tord We dominated the match but it looked like we were going to get nothing for our troubles until the 92nd min when Magnus Kjellman (YP45) prodded the ball home. League: Tord 1-0 GAIS Erik Johanneson (YP56)'s goal in the 32nd min secured our 1st win in the new stadium after a slightly dodgy performance. We were by no means comfortable but we managed to get all 3 points. League: Orebro 0-2 Tord Peter Jansson (YP33) opened the scoring in the 3rd min before Olle Stenman (YP63) doubled the lead with his 1st goal for the club. hrbfcrule
April 2038 League: Tord 1-0 Syrianska FC A solid home performance only let down by the lack of finished chances, Peter Jansson (YP33) netted the only goal of the match early in the 2nd half. League: IFK Goteborg 0-1 Tord A very dull game which had just 2 shots on target in it. Luckily one of those was our goal, Jorgen Melki (YP37) headed home from a corner in the 6th min. League: Tord 2-1 Atvidaberg Alexander Pettersson (YP61) and Roger Magnusson (YP52) both scored in the 1st half as we dominated Atvidaberg. But we refused to finish things off in the 2nd half as Atvidaberg netted a consolation in the 92nd min. It's like we're not allowed to win by more than 1 goal. League: Tord 1-0 Trelleborg A frustrating encounter as yet again we create the chances but can't finish them. Jorgen Melki (YP37)'s penalty was the deciding factor in the game. League: Helsingborg 0-0 Tord It was coming, up until now we have somehow found a way to score but not this time. A lacklustre performance which deservedly got us no goals. This game was also a monumentous occasion for Peter Jansson (YP33) who has now overtaken Tony Thoren (YP5) for most league appearances in a Tord shirt (to add to his record of most appearances in all competitions in a Tord shirt), he has now managed a whopping 406 league appearances scoring 143 goals. League: Tord 1-1 Mjallby After 7 straight wins we now seem to be struggling a bit. Viktor Andersson (YP53) gave us the lead halfway through the 1st half but Mjallby equalised in the 91st min. Although they should have been level early had they not missed a penalty.
hrbfcrule
May 2038 League: Malmo FF 2-0 Tord Our slump continues, we were absolutely terrible this match and deserved to lose by more if I am totally honest. League: Tord 1-0 Assyriska A much imrpoved display but the finishing is still missing. Many chances were created which is promising but only Jonas Andersson (YP49) could finish his chance. Swedish Cup 3rd Round: AIK 1-0 Tord Well I'm not normally confident going into a game against AIK but this time it was even worse, with 2 keepers out injured and the other on international duty with the Sweden U19's I was forced to play Roger Magnusson (YP52) in goal. To be fair to him he did exceptionally well. Conceding just the once and making numerous good saves. League: AIK 2-0 Tord One keeper had come back from injury in time for this match although I was better off staying with Roger Magnusson (YP52). We were caught early in the match and while we tried to get the equaliser in the late stages they hit us on the counter to score a 2nd. League: Tord 1-0 IK Sirius A very good performance against a strong team. Peter Jansson (YP33) seems to be the only on form striker this season and I use that term very loosely. He scored again to help turn around our terrible league form. League: Umea FC 1-2 Tord It looked like it was going to be a 3rd league loss in 5 matches when they scored in the 6th min but goals from Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) within the space of 5 mins of each other late in the 2nd half completely turned the game around. League: Tord 1-0 Kalmar FF An even game that was separated by a Jorgen Melki (YP37) header from a freekick midway through the 2nd half.
hrbfcrule
June 2038 Friendly: Sweden U21's 4-1 San Marino U21's A confident display overall whch was definately helped by our strong start to the match. Olle Stenman (YP63) and Johan Ahlstrand both scored in the opening 20 mins. Ivan Malmstrom then came off the bench to net twice in the 2nd half before they got a consolation goal in injury time. Awesome thread My best keeper is Niklas Svensson (YP38) My best defensive player is Viktor Andersson (YP53) and my best attacking player is Jonas Andersson (YP49) (well in terms of stats anyway.) hrbfcrule
July 2038 Champions League Champions 2nd Qual 1st Leg: Nyiregyhaza 3-3 Tord I was expecting an easy win and it looked like I was going to get it as Jorgen Melki (YP37) and Peter Jansson (YP33) put us into a 2-0 lead. However our opposition fought it back to 2-1 before Viktor Andersson (YP53) quickly restored our 2 goal lead. They then scored twice in the last 15 mins to leave the tie wide open. League: Tord 1-0 Skarhamn A scrappy win over bottom side Skarhamn, Jorgen Melki (YP37) netted a penalty for the only goal of the game. Champions League Champions 2nd Qual 2nd Leg: Tord (5) 2-1 (4) Nyiregyhaza In the end we just about negotiated our way past our Hungarian opposition. Not before a scare as they took the lead early in the 2nd half. A quickfire double from Jorgen Melki (YP37) and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) saw us into the next round. League: GAIS 1-1 Tord Not a great game for us, Tommy Eriksson (YP66) gave us the lead but Peter Jansson (YP33) and Niclas Carlsson (YP39) both got injured and then GAIS equalised. Champions League Champions 3rd Qual 1st Leg: Tord 0-0 Bodo-Glimt Again we had a shocker of a 1st leg, we were meant to comfortably beat them but we really struggled. Bodo-Glimt even had the better chances and really should be taking a lead into the 2nd leg.
