darren1983
yeah best of luck to him. Tough i'm sure he'll score 2 goals next season and both will be against us! with a bit of luck bean will be a good signing, thiugh i always think we look a stronger team with KOC and gazza smith in the centre. All we need now is AS to sign a gk, rb and rm. plus maybe another st if we can find some cash, Then the tittle will bw ours

The_Fish
Just read up on our new stadium actually, 21,100 capacity. Horrific. Apparently designed to a UEFA standard so we can hold U-21 matches!
super_imps
That seems a little needless. Would hate every ground in the league to be a Darlington style bowl filled to 1/4 capacity at best. Ambition is great and everything, but the chances of Brentford or Grimsby EVER pulling 20,000 people is pretty remote.
SI Staff Martin Allen Posted June 16, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted June 16, 2008 Kenilworth road >>>>>>>>>> any of the souless domes I've been to over recent years clubs taking away the only thing I like about lower leagues, the good old uncovered terrace in the cold and wet, got soaked at Dagenham seeing us win in the cup last year and loved it. I'll be gutted the day we finally leave Kenilworth Road, I'd love them to find a way to redevelop Kenilworth road as I love us being right in the heart of the Luton and the walk up to the ground through the town. Don't want to be getting on some random bus from the local station to a ground in the middle of nowhere (Hello Colchester united and MK Dons)

We managed it in the past (even hold the record attendance at Old Trafford) but the only times it will happen now is massive cup games. Probably only Man Utd/Liverpool as opponents. displaced_seagull
Just noticed on the NonLeagueDaily website; Two players from Badgers Ales Sussex County League club Three Bridges have bagged trials at new Coca-Cola League Two side Exeter City this summer. French midfielder Williams Peauroux and defender Sam McVicar (pictured) got the trials after excelling for Bridges last season in which they won the RUR cup and finished sixth in Division One. Bridges boss Paul Faili said: "They both have trials this summer and I am really, really chuffed for them. "They've been superb for us this season and both are very excited about it." I think they might find the step up a little high, but would be interested in hearing the opinions of any Exeter fans if they appear in friendlies. Peauroux could certainly play at a higher level, but I think League Two might be a step too far.

darren1983
well we really struggle to fill grifen park as is and thats on 11,000 or 12,000 so 20,000 is far to big. Plus we're losing more and more fans coz we're right next to chelsea, QPR and fulham. So i'm just scared we're just gonna end up with a clone of all the other new stadiuns that are springing up everywhere. One the reasons i enjoy lower league football is to go to away games and seeing old stadiums.

Valiant Richie
Total mixed response from the people in this thread about how they think Vale will do. Handful say promotion, handful say we will struggle and Sinnot will be first to get sacked. It's a make or break season for us - with the season ticket offer a success (nearly 6500 sold now) it has brought back all the stay away fans who couldn't afford to turn up, but now they're back and the manager and board have all the fans support, they really can't **** it up. Especially with our huge rivals Stoke doing so well. Probably our biggest season for decades, if we collapse i do see us being in the conference in 2 years time. Yes we have made tonnes of changes but i do feel that Sinnot has plenty of experience in the lower leagues and he got 3 promotions in 4 seasons with FC so who knows. He can definitely talk the talk but can he walk the walk? - Many fans gave him the benefit of the doubt the latter of last season as we has Foyle's shiiiite that he left behind, even though the football did improve vastly and i feel Sinnot did brilliantly with the shiiite he had!! - We've made some cracking signings, too. My heart says playoff final Vs Grimsby town - my head says mid table.

Krost
Bournemouth are expected to get out of administration in about six weeks time. Just over a week before the start of the season, with the full transfer embargo on until that time. Anyone know any betting sites that offer relegation odds? All i'm finding are ridiculous odds for us to win the league.

alfredbulbasaur
we have signed ben hamer on loan for the season from reading, who is a fairly awesome goalkeeper, and leigh mills from spurs on loan for the season. no idea who the latter is tbf, but hamer joining is basically great. now he will break both legs and arms after conceding 10 a game for the first few matches, but there you go. Piece of ****, its signposted from miles away and you can't miss it, flags coming up from the second main stand. What's parking like around the ground? Theres a massive car park at the ground which used to be a Co-op supermarket car park but we nicked it, i'd recommend going on there, bout £4 i think, if not you can park outside the away end but you would have to get there early and alot of people walk through there. Is there anything to do in the surrounding are before and after the the match? Not really as you're in the outskirts of Burslem which is a **** hole. - The away end has a burger van (woop) and inside the away end there are pretty good facilities and the food is brilliant for away supports but **** for home supporters!! Tommy Cheadles is the Vale pub right outside the away end but its home fans only, if you don't show your colours you should be able to get in though, quite a friendly atmosphere in there. For after the match if you take the short trip into hanley there are plenty of good clubs and bars to go to, a casino and a few places to eat, depends what kind of night you want really. Can you recommend any decent pubs for food? Ive been going Vale for 12 years and have never eaten in a pub before the game so i can't really comment here. Theres a good oatcake shop down Hamil Road and if you keep going down there there is a cafe called Strawberries where you can sit in and eat, and its ****ing awesome. Any baguette you like or sandwiches (bacon, egg, sausage etc) for quite a tasty price. Good place to grab a coffee to, its opposite the police station. Rob1981
ROCHE QUITS SHRIMPS FOR SPIREITES Morecambe have signed Chesterfield goalkeeper Barry Roche on a two-year deal after the Spireites agreed to release him from his contract. The 26-year-old still had a year to run on his present deal but will join the Shrimps on 1 July. Roche, who has been a regular since moving to Saltergate from Nottingham Forest in 2005, said: "Chesterfield gave me a chance in the League. "The goalkeeping coach Steve Sutton was superb and I'll always be grateful." Roche, who played 140 games for the club during his three-year spell, added: "We had a good season last year and really should have made the play-offs but it wasn't to be.'' Boss Lee Richardson said: "We thank Barry for his time with Chesterfield and we wish him all the best for the future." Wtf? Just can't get over this news.
