@Jannn It is this. I do what RDF recommended - he is the master of the pragmatic part of FM.

@knap No, I used the Minor tweak for all games except of away games against the better teams (used Big away tweak).

Hi. I'm using the Northern Soul tactic to great effect. I cannot fault it's attacking and defensive balance, however, the amount of yellow cards per game, and often resulting red cards is spoiling it somewhat. I originally removed hard tacking from the player instructions that it was applied to, as well as removed get stuck in. However the tactic lost it's edge so I reverted back to putting the get stuck in instruction on minus the hard tackling player instructions. This saw an upturn in results again, but the ill-discipline is back in full force again. Is there a happy medium to cut down on the yellows and reds without taking anything away from the tactic? Any advice much appreciated!

@djl4485

You can try to mitigate in mtch by removing hard tackle from the offending player, or make a sub. If winning a game easily then take hard tackle and get stuck in off to avoid any further un necessary cards.

When you get a red card you can use a SUS type tactic by changing to regroup and hold shape. This tends to encourage the AI to attack and leave spaces at the back.

I used this in EC Final after Mane was set off after changing we scored and won cup

Thanks Knap. I've already got removing hard tackling off all players, just got the get stuck in option on, Will take your advice and remove that off if winning comfortably. I also try player shouts to all to calm down, but they seem to be like disobedient kids and still get more bookings anyway ha. Like I say though, great tactic other than that. I took Macclesfield to the Championship in successive seasons with it, now with Barnsley after getting headhunted and having great success with them too.

After 3rd place in 2019/20 season, this time I've won Serie A title and Coppa Italia with Lazio team, using FM20.3.0TeaforOne4222VOL2P100ALLCUPS. As seen in the pictures, i made just one transfer for the starting eleven. Really good defence, we conceded only 17 goals throughout the season. Also away from Rome i got more points, scored more goals and conceded less, than at home. In my opinion it's one of the best defensive and counterattacking tactics.

Another example of using regroup and hold shape This time played the 2nd half with 10 and although they scored we also scored so a draw in 2nd half despite being down to 10.

Great work! I'll try myself when the time comes. Still a lot of yellows this afternoon but no reds...yet!

That loss must have been very annoying!

Good to see a 4231 doing well.

Yeah, I lost 1-0 to Lyon away and very annoying, we played better a created more but some games like that happen. First time I have used a 4231 and it worked very well, even my CAM scored and got good ratings thoughout.
