Baptista_8
Does that mean we can use the replacements as well? Anyone in the 31st May squads. If it's someone after (Schneiderlin for example) guessing you can't have him.
adhikapp
I reckon you can definitely pick replacements. The pool of player is short as it is, and an injured player will only decrease the size of it. (Sorry for naming names, Gizzy, this is for an example but) Schneiderlin who came in for an Diarra is just as legible to be drafted.

Gizzy
You can only pick a replacement if it's to replace the player you are losing. So Schneiderlin replaced Diarra. If someone had picked Diarra early but now has to replace him, Schneiderlin could only be used to replace Diarra. But any unpicked player can still be used also. Hope that makes sense
Baptista_8
Not really. You wouldn't lose Diarra as he was in the squad on May 31, so can we pick Schneiderlin now or what?
adhikapp
Anyone who is in the confirmed squads that hasnt been drafted can be picked. Any player not in there (cut or injured) is not. Think thats what Gizzy was trying to say.
Baptista_8
Still no clearer...
Cougar2010
Still no clearer... Whats not clear? Your team at the end will contain 11 players who are in the Euro 16 squads and at the tournament. If you pick a player who isn't in the final 23 then you have to replace him with one that is. Now that all the squads have been announced its pretty clear who you can/can't pick. Baptista_8
So why did Gizzy mention Diarra? Diarra was in the final squad and can be drafted, and Schneiderlin can't be picked as he was called up after the official 31st May squad? That's right yeah? Anti Spiral
So can I have Diarra?
Cougar2010
So why did Gizzy mention Diarra? Diarra was in the final squad and can be drafted, and Schneiderlin can't be picked as he was called up after the official 31st May squad? That's right yeah? No, Diarra isn't in the final 23 so can't be picked, Schneiderlin is and therefore can be. Looking at it France replaced Diarra with Schneiderlin before the deadline but after initially releasing the squad to the public. My opinion is that AS should have first refusal on replacing Diarra with Schneiderlin for fairness, if he wants to pick someone else then Schneiderlin is fair game for others. In terms of injuries between now & when we start then Gizzy needs to make a decision on that. EDIT Its no different to me missing out on Isco who was my 3rd pick and I'm now going to have to replace him with someone much lower down the pecking order but **** happens. adhikapp
I'll do an ELI5 version like redditors do for you Baptista Before Diarra was injured, he was included as a squad member to Euro2016. He was eligible for this draft. Schneiderlin wasn't because he wasn't in the squad the first time. Now since Diarra is injured and won't be going to Euros, he can't be picked. Whoever picked Diarra beforehand should switch him out with someone who actually is going to the Euros. It could be his replacement (Schneiderlin), or it could be anyone else that has been named in the squads of other countries (obviously someone who hasn't been drafted yet). Same as someone in the World Cup draft, someone drafted Ribery who was already called up in the official squads. But then he got injured, so that person who picked him replaced Ribery with Fellaini (iirc).
Baptista_8
Yeah I get that...but Gizzy has already said that Diarra can be included. If a player was named in the 31st May squad you can have him Diarra was named in the 31st May squad...
kris0710
Are we just round in circles here? In the OP from Gizzy it says 'Players can pick any player who will be playing at the Euro Championships, so no Messi or Depay. Sorry' So i take that to mean that until yesterday Diarra COULD be chosen. Diarra is now injured and out of the tournament meaning he CANNOT be chosen. Under the rules Schneiderlin has now be included in the Final 23 for France. Whoever has chosen Diarra in the draft needs to replace him with ANYONE he so wishes (inc Schneiderlin). Or am i wrong?
