The Captain might regain his place, but for now he will have to wait

November 12th: Kidderminster (A) Blue Square Premier (18/46)

We got off to a good start and on the 12th minute we went into the lead as D.O’Toole curled the ball in from outside the area after running onto a G.Bear throughball. Nine minutes later though Kidderminster had the chance grab a goal as they piled forward but L.Schnitzel and T.Owens combined well to halt the attack. On the 34th minute Kidderminster had another chance with H.Chaha saving brilliantly. On the stroke of half time we had the chance to double our lead as M.Samedan crossed the ball into the area but A.Anymoredohnuts failed to head the ball into the goal.

Half Time Score 0-1

I started the half with J.Scottlee of Hesselink coming on for D.O’Toole. On the 48th minute Kidderminster came close to grabbing the equaliser as Ishu slipped with the ball on the wing but T.Owens slid in and cleared the ball. Eight minutes later the equaliser came as E.Topping jinked past my defence with ease and fired past H.Chaha who stood no chance of saving the ball. Kidderminster were getting a hold of the game and on the 76th minute they should of grabbed another goal but the partnership of L.Schnitzel and T.Owens again denied them.

Kidderminster 1 E.Topping 56

Hardly Athletic 1 D.O’Toole 12

H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, S.Carl Goatsburg, T.Owens ©, L.Schnitzel, M.Samedan, Ishu, G.Bear, Panpardus, D.O’Toole (45-J.Scottlee of Hesselink), A.Anymoredohnuts

Post Match Review: A pretty nervy performance for some reason. We really can perform better than that. I want an improvement. The Man of the Match Award was a hard decision to be truthful and today it will be going T.Owens who marshalled the defence brilliantly.

November 15th: International news sees C.Fantu play for Armenia U21’s in their 2-0 loss to England for the Euro U21’s Qualifier, he again played the full ninety minutes and earnt a rating of 6.4

November 19th: Gateshead (H) Blue Square Premier (19/46)

We started well and on the 14th minute D.O’Toole grabbed the lead for us with a rasping effort from outside the area. Two minutes later though we conceded as G.Armstrong beat the defence to a long ball to fire past H.Chaha. On the 34th minute we had our next chance as D.O’Toole again fired towards goal but his effort was easily saved.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made a couple of changes at the start of the half as M.Kowalski and J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for L.Schnitzel and the disappointing A.Anymoredohnuts. Nine minutes into the half we retook the lead as D.O’Toole ran onto a Panpardus throughball to hit home past the keeper. On the 59th minute though Gateshead grabbed the equaliser again as G.Armstrong headed in past H.Chaha after T.Owens failed to clear an easy cross. Eight minutes later though we grabbed the lead back as T.Owens fired in from outside the area after breaking clear of the Gateshead midfield. On the 77th minute we grabbed the killer goal as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired in from close range after a vicious cross G.Bear.

Hardly Athletic 4 D.O’Toole 14, 54, T.Owens 67, J.Scottlee of Hesselink 77

Gateshead 2 G.Armstrong 16, 59

H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, S.Carl Goatsburg, T.Owens ©, L.Schnitzel (45-M.Kowalski), M.Samedan, Ishu, G.Bear, Panpardus, D.O’Toole, A.Anymoredohnuts (45-J.Scottlee of Hesselink)

Post Match Review: A good overall performance however I was alittle worried with the way we conceded too easily avoidable goals. The attack did well and showed what there made of. The Man of the Match Award will be going to D.O’Toole after grabbing a couple of goals and dominating the Gateshead defence

November 20th: Injury news sees both S.Stoehr and C.de Bruijn back in full training following their recent injuries

November 22nd: Barnet (A) Blue Square Premier (20/46)

Before the game I was informed that we will be facing a home tie against Leek in the FA Trophy 1st Round.

We started well and on the 23rd minute we took the lead as T.Owens headed home a Panpardus cross. Four minutes later we should of grabbed another goal as A.Anymoredohnuts fired towards goal but his effort was brilliantly saved by the Barnet keeper. On the 36th minute Barnet grabbed the equaliser with a well worked team move which saw J.O’Flynn firing under H.Chaha.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change at the start of the half with F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for A.Anymoredohnuts. On the 57th minute Barnet came close to taking the lead as there attack ran intro the area and fired towards goal but S.Carl Goatsburg slid in to clear the ball. Four minutes later we had our next chance as D.O’Toole ran onto a Panpardus throughball to slid the ball just wide of the post. On the 70th minute I made a change with J.Scottlee of Hesselink coming on for D.O’Toole. With eight minutes remaining in the game Barnet took the lead as I.Yakubu fired in from 20 yards to beat H.Chaha at his far post. To rub salt in the wounds in injury time Barnet grabbed a final goal as J.O’Flynn fired in from close range

Barnet 3 J.O’Flynn 36, 90+1, I.Yakubu 82

Hardly Athletic 1 T.Owens 23

H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, S.Carl Goatsburg, T.Owens ©, L.Schnitzel, M.Samedan, Ishu, G.Bear, Panpardus, D.O’Toole (70-J.Scottlee of Hesselink), A.Anymoredohnuts (45-F.F.Tikle-Wok)

Post Match Review: 3-1 really flattered Barnet as we deserved at least a draw in the game. We seemed to have forgotten our shooting boot today but hey that’s how some games go. The Man of the Match Award will be going to Panpardus who did his best to supply the attack with those killer balls.

I get the distinct impression that a recording of my thoughts in goal would go like this:

Left, left. Good. OK, watch the wing. Nice tackle! OK, here they come, it's going to be a cross. There it ... oh, look, butterflies. Wow, they're pretty. Wait, what? What's that whistle? Why is the ball behind ... MOTHER****ER! It happened again ....

November 26th: Histon (H) FA Cup 2nd Round

We now had the chance to potentially grab a big money tie in the third round. We started well and on the 9th minute we grabbed the lead as D.O’Toole sprinted onto a Panpardus throughball to fire under the keeper. Eight minutes later we had another chance to score as C.de Bruijn tried his luck from the edge of the area but his effort went just over the crossbar. We were dominating the game and on the 33rd minute we had our next chance as a long ball over the top by L.Schnitzel was volleyed towards goal by A.Anymoredohnuts but his effort was well saved.

Half Time Score 1-0

We continued from the first half and on the 55th minute we had another chance as D.O’Toole rattled in from just inside the area but the Histon keeper saved well. Six minutes later Histon finally had the chance to score with a rasping effort but G.Burgess saved well. Histon weren’t getting much of the ball and on the 68th minute we had another chance with A.Anymoredohnuts jinking through the defence but he failed to finish the effort and it went wide of the post. With nine minutes remaining in the game we had another chance to score as D.O’Toole fired towards goal but his effort again went past the goal. On the 88th minute our failure to score bit us in the ass as Histon broke clear of the defence and D.Wright fired in past G.Burgess to send this tie into a replay

Hardly Athletic 1 D.O’Toole 9

Histon 1 D.Wright 88

G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, S.Carl Goatsburg, T.Owens ©, L.Schnitzel, M.Samedan, C.de Bruijn, S.Stoehr, Panpardus, D.O’Toole, A.Anymoredohnuts

Post Match Review: What can I say. We couldn’t hit a barn door from six yards. We must find a way out of this sudden blip in scoring form. The Man of the Match Award is going to Panpardus who again did everything he could do to help us score but the front line really let us down

November 27th: Injury news sees A.Marks back in full training following his recent injury

November 28th: The draw for the FA Cup 3rd Round has taken place and sees us pitted at home to Premiership side Sunderland, but first we must get past Histon in the 2nd Round replay

November 30th: Fleetwood (H) Blue Square Premier (21/46)

We didn’t get off to the best of starts and on the 8th minute Fleetwood took the lead as S.McNulty ran past the defence with ease and fired under G.Burgess. Six minute s later though we came close to grabbing the equaliser as A.Anymoredohnuts hit a great goal in off the upright, however the goal was ruled out for a foul in the build up. On the 27th minute we had another chance to score with D.O’Toole running in from the wing and firing across the goal but noone was there to divert the ball into the net. Four minutes later Fleetwood came close to doubling their lead as a wicked effort from outside the area was acrobatically saved by G.Burgess.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made a couple of change at the start of the half as A.Marks and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for C.de Bruijn and A.Anymoredohnuts. Eight minutes into the half we grabbed the equaliser with a well worked team move that saw S.Stoehr crossing in for D.O’Toole to volley past the Fleetwood keeper. We were beginning to dominate the half and on the 66th minute we had another chance to score with F.F.Tikle-Wok hitting a daisy cutter towards goal but the Fleetwood keeper again saved well. On the 78th minute we finally grabbed the lead we deserved as F.F.Tikle-Wok hit a thunderous effort towards goal which the Fleetwood keeper spilt and D.O’Toole slid in and knocked the ball into the goal to give us all three points

Hardly Athletic 2 D.O’Toole 53,78

Fleetwood 1 S.McNulty 8

Post Match Review: The performance was great, we dominated well and actually looked dangerous upfront unlike in previous games. The Man of the Match Award is D.O’Toole who grabbed two goals and was a thorn in the side of the Fleetwood side

December 2nd: I received a call from the Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman asking if I would be tempted into joining there club as manager. I of course reject the notion of leaving Hardly Athletic

December 3rd: York (A) Blue Square Premier (22/46)

We started really well and on the 4th minute S.Saville hit a thunderous effort into the top corner of the goal to beat the York keeper. Twelve minutes later we had another chance as C.Fantu crossed the ball into the area but J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed wide of the post. On the half hour we had yet another chance with a great team move which saw S.Stoehr firing towards goal but the York keeper made an outstanding save. Just before the break we had the final chance of the half with C.Fantu getting down the wing and crossing into the area but T.Owens who had sprinted up the pitch failed to connect with the ball properly and the ball went just over the crossbar.

Half Time Score 0-1

The second half was much the same as we continued to press forward and on the 65th minute we doubled our lead as C.Fantu hit a wonderful freekick into the goal from 25 yards out after J.Scottlee of Hesselink was brought down by the York defence. Eight minutes later we had another chance from the spot as C.Fantu was brought down in the area, F.F.Tikle-Wok stepped up for the penalty and fired towards the goal but the York keeper saved well to deny him. On the 84th minute we had our final chance to score as C.de Bruijn tried his luck from the corner of the area but yet again the York keeper denied us

Post Match Review: A great performance as we controlled the majority of the play. If it wasn’t for the brilliance of the York keeper we would of put five or six past them. The Man of the Match Award will be going to C.Fantu who dominated the midfield and got a goal to boot

December 7th: Histon (A) FA Cup 2nd Round Replay

We started the game well and on 14th minute S.Saville back his recent hype up with a powerful effort from outside the area. Six minutes later we had another chance as S.Saville curled the ball into the area but F.F.Tikle-Wok headed the ball wide of the post when it was easier to score. On the 28th minute Histon grabbed an equaliser as M.Frow beat T.Owens to the ball and fired past M.Wilson who was pretty slow to react. Just before the break we had another chance with C.de Bruijn firing towards goal from the edge of the area but the effort was well saved by the Histon keeper.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made a couple of changes at the start of the half with A.Marks and D.O’Toole coming on for S.Stoehr and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. We again started the half well and on the 57th minute we had our next chance with D.O’Toole firing towards the top corner but his effort was again well saved by the Histon keeper. On the 71st minute we retook the lead as D.O’Toole ran onto a S.Saville throughball and slid the ball past the keeper. However our defence let us down as two minutes later we conceded the equaliser with M.Frow again beating T.Owens to the ball.

End of Ninety Minutes 2-2

I made a quick change at the start of extra time with S.Carl Goatsburg coming on for T.Owens. Two minutes into extra time another defensive lapse saw M.Kowalski slipped and D.Wright fired in past M.Wilson. I screamed at the players to pile forward and on the 99th minute we had the chance to score but D.O’Toole fluffed his lines and the ball went wide of the post. We continued the pressure but for all our efforts we failed to add the equaliser and went out of the FA Cup

December 10th: Leek (H) FA Trophy 1st Round

We now faced Leek in a potentially tricky FA Trophy tie, however you lot dispelled my fears with a stunning performance. We opened the scoring on the 14th minute with S.Saville firing a thunderous effort from outside the area. Seven minutes later we grabbed another goal as S.Saville fires the ball off the crossbar and F.F.Tikle-Wok slotted home rebound. We continued to pressurise the Leek team and on the 79th minute we had another chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok fired just wide of the post when it was easier to score.

Rushden started brightly and on the 12th minute they had the first chance with a powerful effort which saw M.Wilson saving well. Six minutes later they had another chance with there attack sprinting into the area but M.Kowalski slid in and cleared the ball. On the half hour we had our first effort as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran into the area and headed home a S.Saville cross. On the 39th minute though we nearly conceded a goal as M.Wilson flapped at a cross but M.Kowalski was on the line to clear the ball.

Half Time Score 1-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at half time with A.Marks and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for C.Fantu and F.F.Tikle-Wok. Rushden again started well and on the 59th minute they came close to grabbing the lead with a thunderous shot which T.Owens blocked well. On the 74th minute we had the chance to score as S.Stoehr curled the ball into the area but G.Spavlachenko managed to head wide of the post. With three minutes remaining in the game we again let the Rushden attack in but M.Wilson saved well.

December 28th: Cambridge (A) Blue Square Premier (24/46)

Within a minute we had the ball in the back of the net as D.O’Toole fired in from just inside the area however his goal was ruled out for a foul on the keeper. On the 13th minute we had another chance as D.O’Toole ran onto a F.F.Tikle-Wok throughball however the Cambridge keeper managed to save well. It was getting pretty easy for us as we continued to pile forward and on the 29th minute we had our next chance after Ishu was brought down into the area and jinking in from the wing, D.O’Toole stepped up for the penalty but yet again the Cambridge keeper saved well from the spot.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made one change to the team at half time with A.Marks coming on for S.Stoehr. On the 57th minute we had our next chance as G.Spavlachenko crossed into the area but noone was there to nod home the ball. Five minutes later I made a change with A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for F.F.Tikle-Wok. On the 78th minute we had another chance to score with a great team which saw Ishu crossed in but A.Anymoredohnuts was fouled by the keeper for a penalty, D.O’Toole again stepped up and again the Cambridge keeper saved well. I knew it wasn’t going to be our day and deep into injury time it proved so as B.Harding fired in from 30 yards to give Cambridge an very undeserved three points.

December 31st: Crawley (H) Blue Square Premier (25/46)

On the 14th minute we managed to take the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok barged his way through the defence to fire the ball past the Crawley keeper. Seven minutes later we grabbed another goal as C.Fantu rose highest to nod in a C.de Bruijn cross. On the 28th minute we made it 3-0 as D.O’Toole fired in from the corner of the area to give the Crawley keeper no chance of saving. Just before the break we had yet another chance to score with S.Stoehr rattling the crossbar from 25 yards after making plenty of space for himself.

Half Time Score 3-0

We continued the forward pressure and on the 58th minute we had the chance to grab another goal as F.F.Tikle-Wok was brought down in the area for a penalty, D.O’Toole stepped up and fired in a thunderous penalty that gave the keeper no chance of saving. Crawley were sinking without a trace and on the 74th minute D.O’Toole completed his hattrick as he rose highest to nod in a S.Saville cross. Nine minutes later it was 6-0 as D.O’Toole powerful effort from the edge of the area was diverted into the net by S.Rayner for an own goal. On the 87th minute the final goal was scored as D.O’Toole made it four goals for the game with a well struck effort from just inside the area

January 1st 2012: I have been informed that C.de Bruijn has been awarded the Blue Square Premier Young Player of the Month

January 2nd: Barrow (H) Blue Square Premier (26/46)

I expected the players to continue from the previous game, however this didn’t happen and Barrow dominated. On the 17th minute they had their first attack with as they piled forward but M.Kowalski slid in and denied the effort. Nine minutes later we again were caught napping as a long ball over the top wasn’t dealt with but M.Wilson reacted well to deny them the effort. Just after the half hour we had our first chance to score as S.Stoehr crossed into the area for D.O’Toole but his effort was easily saved by the Barrow keeper.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half with A.Marks and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for S.Saville and F.F.Tikle-Wok. Just before the hour Barrow were reduced to ten men after T.Naylor was sent off for a second yellow card. Despite having one less player Barrow controlled the majority of the game and on the 74th minute M.Kowalski was there to rescue the team. We had just one chance in the half and that was on the 87th minute when A.Anymoredohnuts barged his way through the defence but the Barrow keeper bravely blocked the effort

Post Match Review: Lads what’s going on, we go from the sublime to the pathetic. Not a happy Gaffer. The Man of the Match Award will be going to M.Kowalski who saved us a couple of times, but Captain I need you to bollock your team and get them playing on the pitch

January 4th: The Sunderland chairman has got into touch and asked whether I would be interested in joining his club, again I told him that I will be staying at The Love Shack for the foreseeable future

January 7th: Wrexham (H) FA Trophy 2nd Round

Wrexham flew out the blocks and on the 3rd minute they had the chance to grab the lead after T.Owens slid in on the Wrexham attacker for a penalty, M.Williams stepped up for the penalty and fired towards goal but G.Burgess saved the penalty well. On the 19th minute Wrexham had another chance as they beat the offside trap but M.Kowalski managed to react well and slid in and cleared the ball. It was all Wrexham and on the 37th minute they had yet another chance with a well worked team move which ended with G.Burgess bravely blocking the effort.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half with G.Bear and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for S.Saville and J.Scottlee of Hesselink who weren’t up to scratch on the first half. Wrexham continued to pressurise the team and on the 66th minute they grabbed the lead with M.Williams making up for his earlier miss with a well struck effort which beat G.Burgess with ease. Ten minutes later Wrexham should of killed the tie off but yet again M.Kowalski was on hand to block the effort. On the 87th minute we finally had our first real effort as A.Marks whipped the ball into the top corner but the Wrexham keeper saved well.

January 14th: Mansfield (A) Blue Square Premier (27/46)

Mansfield started the better and on the 8th minute they had the chance to take the lead with a well struck effort which had G.Burgess scrambling along the line to save. Twelve minutes later they had another chance as Ishu slipped to give the ball away but luckily for him T.Owens slid through the ball and attacker to clear the danger. On the 29th minute we had our first chance as D.O’Toole hit a thunderous effort from the edge of the area after breaking clear of the defence but his effort was easily saved. With ten minutes remaining in the half we grabbed the lead as A.Marks jinked his way through the defence with ease and fired past the keeper.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made a couple of changes to the start of the half as G.Bear and A.Anymoredohnuts. On the 57th minute Mansfield came close to grabbing the equaliser with a great team move that saw G.Burgess bravely saving. Ten minutes later we had our next chance of the game as A.Anymoredohnuts fired in a from the edge of the area but the Mansfield keeper saved well. With twelve minutes remaining we conceded a silly goal as M.Kowalski failed to intercept a simple ball and C.Greenacre fired in to give them a share of the points

Post Match Review: We played really well but we failed to finish the game off. Elsewhere we did well but one little error in defence cost us. The game came at a cost though as we lost A.Marks for 3-4 weeks after ending the game with a pulled hamstring. The Man of the Match Award will be going to A.Marks who was dominant in the midfield

January 21st: Forest Green (A) Blue Square Premier (28/46)

We got off to a great start and on the 3rd minute we took the lead as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired in a cracking ball from just outside the area. Nine minutes later we had another chance to score with a great team move that saw J.Scottlee of Hesselink firing towards goal but this time the Forest Green keeper saved well. However on the 26th minute Forest managed to grab the equaliser as A.Managan used his strength to get past my defence and fire past the keeper. Twelve minutes later we had our next chance as D.O’Toole ran onto a J.Scottlee of Hesselink through ball to fire towards goal but the keeper saved well.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change to the team at half time with Panpardus coming on for the less than impressive Ishu. Six minutes into the half we had our next chance of the game as D.O’Toole managed to head wide of the post after the Forest keeper flapped at a Panpardus cross. On the 61st minute we had yet another chance with S.Stoehr crossing into the area but J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed over the crossbar. Nine minutes later we grabbed the winning goal as Panpardus had great vision to see the Forest keeper off his line and lobbed him from 35 yards. After the goal we didn’t really press forward but neither did the Forest team.

January 24th: Merthyr (H) Blue Square Premier (29/46)

An entertaining game saw us sharing six goals with the Merthyr team. On the 17th minute we had the first chance as D.O’Toole fired towards goal but the Merthyr keeper saved brilliantly to deny him. Ten minutes later it was Merthyr chance with a great team move which split my defence apart but G.Burgess saved well to keep the score at 0-0. With ten minutes remaining in the half Merthyr grabbed the lead as D.Foley unleashed a thunderbolt past G.Burgess who stood no chance to save it. On the stroke of half time we had our next chance as S.Stoehr sprinted down the wing and crossed into the area but G.Bear failed to get his head on the ball and the ball bobbled wide of the goal

Half Time Score 0-1

I made a couple of changes at the start of the half as Panpardus and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for Ishu and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. Twelve minutes into the half though we were two goals down as N.Williamson rose highest to nod the ball past G.Burgess. On the 64th minute we managed to pull a goal back as D.O’Toole fed to the feet of F.F.Tikle-Wok who wasted no time in slotting under the Merthyr keeper. Six minutes later we grabbed the equaliser as D.O’Toole ran in from the wing to fire past the Merthyr keeper. On the 77th minute we grabbed the lead as D.O’Toole made it two goals for the day with a well struck effort from inside the area. However we let ourselves down again as L.Cook beat the defence to fire under G.Burgess to give them a share of the points

Hardly Athletic 3 F.F.Tikle-Wok 64, D.O’Toole 70, 77

Merthyr 3 D.Foley 35, N.Williamson 56, L.Cook 79

Post Match Review: Maybe a good game for the fans but for me the defensive performance just wasn’t good enough. We will need to improve in that area if we want to keep the push for promotion. The attack was great cant complain and you did what we needed to do. The game has cost us the service of injury prone S.Stoehr who will be missing for around 3-4 weeks after straining his thigh during the game. The Man of the Match Award is going to D.O’Toole for his two goals and assist today.

January 28th: Chelmsford (A) Blue Square Premier (30/46)

Again we didn’t really perform however on the 16th minute we grabbed the lead as D.O’Toole fired in from close range after beating the Chelmsford defence with ease. After the goal though it was as though we hadn’t turned up. Just after the half hour S.Lee grabbed the equaliser for Chelmsford with a simple goal that saw G.Burgess flapping at a simple goal. With six minutes remaining in the half we conceded another silly goal as C.Fantu failed to deal with an easy ball that saw S.Lee slot home.

Half Time Score 2-1

I made a couple of changes to the team with Panpardus and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for Ishu and D.O’Toole. Chelmsford again controlled much of the half and on the 62nd minute they came close to scoring but G.Burgess managed to save well. Eight minutes later they came close to grabbing another goal with a thunderous effort which our keeper again managed to save. On the 80th minute Chelmsford killed the game off with a well struck effort that gave G.Burgess no chance of saving

Post Match Review: We seem to have hit a bit of a blip. We needed to work that little bit harder and get out of it. The Man of the Match Award will be going to G.Burgess who prevented the scoreline from being a lot higher

February 1st: International news sees S.Carl Goatsburg play for Thailand in their 1-0 victory over Turkmenistan during the World Cup Qualifier. He played the full ninety minutes and earnt himself a rating of 7.3

February 4th: Grays (H) Blue Square Premier (31/46)

We got off to a poor start and on the 2nd minute as J.Gould fired in from close range to beat H.Chaha at his far post. Nine minutes later we were two goals down as L.McEvilly beat C.de Bruijn to the ball and fired in from outside the area. On the 17th minute we were three down as Grays embarrassed my defence to see J.Gould grab his second of the game. Four minutes later we pulled a goal back as J.Scottlee of Hesselink broke from the halfway line to sprinted towards goal and fire past the Grays keeper. On the 23rd minute we pulled to within a goal as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in from close range after a great cross by C.de Bruijn. With eight minutes remaining we had the chance to equalise as D.O’Toole fired from just inside the area but the Grays keeper easily saved.

Half Time Score 2-3

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half with S.Carl Goatsburg and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for M.Kowalski and D.O’Toole. We started the second half a lot better and on the 61st minute we grabbed the equaliser as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired in an unstoppable effort from 20 yards after making light work of the Grays defence to complete his hattrick. However our joy didn’t last long as on the 73rd minute L.McEvilly fired in to give Grays all three points after some more sloppy work by my team. The goal knocked the wind out of the players and we struggled to get going from there.

Hardly Athletic 3 J.Scottlee of Hesselink 21, 23, 61

Grays 4 J.Gould 2, 17, L.McEvilly 11, 73

H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, M.Kowalski (45-S.Carl Goatsburg), L.Schnitzel, M.Samedan, C.de Bruijn, C.Fantu, G.Bear, J.Scottlee of Hesselink, D.O’Toole (45-A.Anymoredohnuts)

Post Match Review: Not impressed at all with the start. To concede three goal in quick succession (Just ask Sir Alex Ferguson). We seriously need to pull our fingers out otherwise we will end up blowing promotion. COME ON LADS I know you can do better. The Man of the Match Award has to go to the one player who was trying his best to help the team, J.Scottlee of Hesselink a great Hattrick well done

February 5th: Injury news sees the return of A.Marks after his injury. I also called in Captain M.Kowalski to ask him to see what the players are thinking right now and to start getting them working as a team and getting us the promotion that we deserve

February 8th: Injury news sees S.Stoehr back to full training after his injury

February 11th: Eastbourne Boro (A) Blue Square Premier (32/46)

A real dire first half saw us struggle to get going. However luckily for us Eastbourne were just as bad. On the 38th minute though we had our first chance as D.O’Toole fired into the net but the referee ruled the goal out for a foul in the build up.

Half Time Score 0-0

The second half saw Panpardus coming on for M.Samedan. We improved alittle in the second half and on the 57th minute we had our first chance as D.O’Toole again fired wide of the post. Six minutes later we grabbed the lead as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired in a powerful effort from outside the area. On the 67th minute we scored again as G.Spavlachenko diverted in an Eastbourne cross past H.Chaha. Straight after the goal I made a change with A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for D.O’Toole. With four minutes remaining in the game we grabbed an unconvincing win as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed in a C.de Bruijn cross.

Eastbourne Boro 1 G.Spavlachenko 67 og

Hardly Athletic 2 J.Scottlee of Hesselink 63, 86

H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, M.Kowalski ©, L.Schnitzel, M.Samedan (45-Panpardus), C.de Bruijn, C.Fantu, G.Bear, J.Scottlee of Hesselink, D.O’Toole (67-A.Anymoredohnuts)

Post Match Review: We didn’t play brilliantly but we got the three points required. The Man of the Match Award will be going to J.Scottlee of Hesselink for his two goals
