September 21st: Ebbsfleet v Hardly Athletic: Blue Square Premier (10/46)

We never really got going in this game as Ebbsfleet piled forward at every chance and on the 13th minute they went into the lead as S.Ginty sprinted between G.Spavlachenko and L.Schnitzel to fire past the outstretched arms of H.Chaha. Nine minutes later they had another chance as there attack again easily beat the defence but H.Chaha was alert enough to tip the effort around the post. On the 34th minute we finally had our first chance of the game as C.Fantu used his strength to barge his way through the defence and fire towards goal but his effort was well saved by the Ebbsfleet keeper.

Half Time Score 1-0

After the half time bollocking I gave I made one change with S.Stoehr coming on for A.Marks. The half was only nine minutes old when we again let ourselves down as a loose ball by the new arrival S.Stoehr was intercepted by M.Viera who fired the ball in off the upright to make it 2-0. On the 56th minute it was 3-0 as M.Viera again showed pace to beat the sluggish defence and wasted no time in placing the effort past H.Chaha. We just weren’t making an effort and on the 75th minute Ebbsfleet capped the game off with M.Viera grabbing his hattrick and Ebbslfeets fourth of the game.

Ebbsfleet 4 S.Ginty 13, M.Viera 54, 56, 75

Hardly Athletic 0

Players: H.Chaha, S.Carl Goatsburg, G.Spavlachenko, L.Schnitzel, M.Kowalski, M.Samedan, C.de Bruijn, C.Fantu, A.Marks (45-S.Stoehr), F.F.Tikle-Wok, D.O’Toole

Post Match Review: Not a good day at the office as we just didn’t even bother. Not one player deserved anything from the match. I just hope we don’t give a performance like this again. On that note not one of you will getting the Man of the Match Award

September 25th: Hardly Athletic v Histon: Blue Square Premier (11/46)

We started well and on the 13th minute we had our first chance of the game as D.O’Toole sprinted into the area but his effort wasn’t as good as his run and the ball went wide of the post. Six minutes later we had another chance as M.Samedan crossed the ball into the area for F.F.Tikle-Wok but his effort was again well saved. On the 26th minute we had another chance as D.O’Toole fired the ball towards goal but the keeper saved well and cleared upfield but the defence were caught ball watching and D.Wright fried in past M.Wilson for the first goal of the game. Ten minutes later though we levelled the scores as M.Samedan ran into the area but was brought down by the Histon defence, L.Schnitzel stepped up for the penalty and fired the ball in past the Histon keeper.

Half Time Score 1-1

The second half saw the introduction of S.Stoehr and A.Anymoredohnuts for C.de Bruijn and F.F.Tikle-Wok. However eight minutes into the half we conceded another goal as Histon showed some skill to get in between my two central defenders and fire past M.Wilson who didn’t seem very awake to the situation. On the 58th minute my game plan was pretty much ruined as M.Kowalski was sent off for a second yellow card, I made an immediate change with T.Owens coming on for D.O’Toole. With us down to ten men we began to struggle to cause any sort of pressure but on the 79th minute we should of grabbed the equaliser but A.Anymoredohnuts somehow managed to miss what was pretty much an open net

Hardly Athletic 1 L.Schnitzel 36 pen

Histon 2 D.Wright 26, J.Simpson 53

Players: M.Wilson, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, L.Schnitzel, M.Kowalski, M.Samedan, C.de Bruijn (45-S.Stoehr), C.Fantu, A.Marks, F.F.Tikle-Wok (45-A.Anymoredohnuts), D.O’Toole (58-T.Owens)

Post Match Review: A good performance in general but really we should be a little more lethal in front of goal. The sending off didn’t help our cause and M.Kowalski you need to make sure you don’t get yourself sent off. The Man of the Match Award will be going to M.Samedan who caused quite a few problems to the Histon team

October 2nd: Hardly Athletic v Kettering: Blue Square Premier (12/46)

Kettering started well and on the 9th minute they went into the lead as E.Geohaghan capitalised on an A.Marks mistake to sprint into the area and fire past M.Wilson. Eleven minutes later though we had a clear cut chance to score as B.Arsenal’s run into the area was halted abruptly for a penalty, D.O’Toole stepped up for the penalty and fired towards goal but his effort was tipped round the post by the Kettering keeper. Just after the half hour we went a further goal down as Kettering piled forward with ease and D.Spencer fired in under M.Wilson. However on the stroke of half time we pulled a goal back as B.Arsenal again foraged forward and crossed in for D.O’Toole to nod with ease past the Kettering keeper.

Half Time Score 1-2

I made a couple of changes to the team at halftime as S.Saville and A.Anymoredohnuts came on for C.Fantu and F.F.Tikle-Wok. On the 59th minute we had our next chance as A.Anymoredohnuts tried his luck from outside the area but his effort was acrobatically saved by the Kettering keeper from the resulting corner D.O’Toole again came close but his header went just wide of the post. We were beginning to dominate the game and on the 76th minute we should of grabbed the equaliser but D.O’Toole was again guilty of missing an easy chance

Hardly Athletic 1 D.O’Toole 45+1

Kettering 2 E.Geohaghan 9, D.Spencer 34

Players: M.Wilson, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, L.Schnitzel, T.Owens, M.Samedan, C.de Bruijn, C.Fantu (45-S.Saville), A.Marks, F.F.Tikle-Wok (45-A.Anymoredohnuts), D.O’Toole

Post Match Review: We didn’t play bad in truth but we should of really finished and defended alittle better. Hopefully we can get ourselves out of this little rut were in. The Man of the Match Award will be going to B.Arsenal who played well throughout the game and caused a hell of a lot of problems

October 9th: Eastbourne Boro v Hardly Athletic: Blue Square Premier (13/46)

We started well and on the 9th minute we went into the lead as D.O’Toole ran into the area and headed in a great cross by B.Arsenal. Ten minutes later we had another chance as Panpardus came close with a rasping effort from outside the area but his effort went just over the crossbar. On the 34th minute Eastbourne had there first chance of the with a jinking run by there attack but before they had the chance to shoot T.Owens slid in and cleared the ball. Five minutes later they had another chance but this time it was G.Spavlachenko who saved the day with a thunderous tackle.

Half Time Score 0-1

The second half though was pretty poor for us as we struggled to keep hold of the ball and on the 53rd minute we came close to losing the lead as B.Arsenal mistimed his challenge on the attack to give Eastbourne a penalty, there striker stepped up for the ball and fired towards goal but M.Wilson guessed right and saved the kick. On the 69th minute they had another chance as there attack easily beat the midfield but T.Owens again used his strength to barge the player off the ball much to the disgust of the Eastbourne players and bench. We were being dominated and on the 85th minute Eastbourne had another chance but yet again T.Owens slid in to deny the attacker

The Man of the Match Award will be going to T.Owens who dominated the defence. Credit must also go to the rest of the defence who did there bit aswell

October 16th: Altrincham v Hardly Athletic: Blue Square Premier (14/46)

We dominated the game as everyone started to perform like I knew you could. On the 13th minute we had the first chance of the game as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran into the area and fired toward s goal but his effort was well saved by the Altrincham keeper. Nine minutes later we had another chance as D.O’Toole rattled the crossbar from outside the area after breaking clear of the defence. On the half hour we finally got the lead we deserved as S.Stoehr hit a thunderous effort towards goal which rebounded off the crossbar and D.O’Toole slotted home to loose ball. With four minutes remaining in the half we doubled our lead as Panpardus slotted home from the corner of the area after jinking in from the wing.

Half Time Score 0-2

I made one change to the team at the start of the half as Ishu replaced A.Marks. We continued to dominate the second half and just before the hour we added a third goal as D.O’Toole showed his strength to barge past his marker and fire under the Altrincham keeper. Soon after we had another chance as B.Arsenal sprinted down the wing and curled into the area but C.de Bruijn failed to connect with the header properly and the ball went wide of the post. Just before the final whistle we had one last chance D.O’Toole fluffed his chance of a hattrick as he fired wide of the post when he really should of slotted home.

October 20th: Hardly Athletic v AFC Wimbledon: Blue Square Premier (15/46)

We didn’t get off to the best of starts as on the 9th minute we went a goal down as D.Kedwell showed his pace to beat S.Carl Goatsburg to a loose ball and fired in under M.Wilson who was a little slow to react. Soon after Wimbledon had another chance as they came close with a bullet header which beat M.Wilson but T.Owens was on the line to head clear. With eight minutes remaining in the half we grabbed the equaliser as Panpardus jinked into the area and cleverly curled the ball round the Wimbledon keepers arms.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made a couple of changes to the team at half time as G.Bear and J.Scottlee of Hesselink for S.Stoehr and D.O’Toole. On the 57th minute we had our next chance as Wimbledon piled forward but before there attacker had the chance to shoot T.Owens slid in and cleared the ball. Nine minutes later we had our next chance as A.Marks crossed into the area but J.Scottlee of Hesselink failed to volley the ball into the net. With nine minutes remaining of the game we grabbed the winning goal as T.Owens rose highest to head in a Panpardus cross.

Hardly Athletic 2 Panpardus 37, T.Owens 81

Post Match Review: Another good game as we looked confident with the ball. The Man of the Match Award will be going to T.Owens who grabbed the winner and kept the Wimbledon team at bay

October 23rd: Hardly Athletic v Mansfield: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round

We now had the chance to get through to the next round of the FA Cup. We started the game the better and on the 5th minute we went into the lead as D.O’Toole volleyed home a Panpardus cross. Eight minutes later we had another chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran onto a S.Stoehr throughball but his effort was well saved by the Mansfield keeper. On the 29th minute Mansfield had there first chance of the game with a strong run into the area but before the striker had chance to shoot G.Spavlachenko slid in and cleared the ball.

Half Time Score 1-0

I made a couple of changes to the team as G.Bear and J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for A.Marks and D.O’Toole. We didn’t get off to the best of starts as on the 55th minute Mansfield grabbed the equaliser with P.Heckingbottom running from the wing and curling the ball past the outstretched arms of M.Wilson. Mansfield began to up the gears and on the 78th minutes they had another chance as they broke clear of my defence but luckily for us the effort was poor and it went well wide of the post. We had one last chance to win the game as C.de Bruijn curled into the area for F.F.Tikle-Wok who headed just wide of the post.

Post Match Review: We played well and probably deserved more of the tie. The Man of the Match Award will be going to S.Stoehr who controlled the midfield without making much of a fuss

October 25th: The draw for the FA Cup 1st Round will see us facing a home tie with either Stevenage or Sutton Utd

October 27th: Mansfield v Hardly Athletic: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round Replay

We began the game well and on the 14th minute we went into the lead as C.de Bruijn fired in a powerful effort from outside the area which gave the Mansfield keeper no chance of saving. However four minutes later we conceded a silly goal as B.Arsenal slipped up in defence and B.Sturrock fired in past M.Wilson. On the 33rd minute we had our next chance as A.Anymoredohnuts showed skill to meg the Mansfield defence, unfortunately his skill deserted him when firing at goal as his effort went high and wide past the goal.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made a couple of changes at the start of the half as S.Saville and J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for C.Fantu and D.O’Toole. Four minutes into the half Mansfield grabbed the lead as M.Sommer used his strength to get through the defence and fire past M.Wilson who again was pretty slow to react. On the 59th minute Mansfield killed the tie off as R.Duffy hit a great effort past M.Wilson. After the goal we struggled to get going but on the 78th minute we did have our last chance of the game as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired wide of the post after running onto a S.Stoehr throughball

Post Match Review: We gave away too many silly balls which ultimately cost us the match. Hopefully we will learn from this and improve. The Man of the Match Award will be going to C.de Bruijn who scored and played pretty well in midfield

October 30th: Hardly Athletic v Stevenage: Blue Square Premier (16/46)

We got off to a cracking start as on the 3rd minute C.Fantu sprinted towards goal and fired an unstoppable effort past the Stevenage keeper. Ten minutes later we had another chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran onto a C.de Bruijn throughball and fired towards goal but his effort was tipped round the post by the keeper. We were beginning to control much of the game and on the 28th minute we had another chance to score as C.Fantu crossed in for A.Marks who managed to head past the keeper but it went just wide of the post.

Half Time Score 1-0

The second half saw the introduction of L.Schnitzel and G.Bear for S.Carl Goatsburg and S.Stoehr. Ten minutes into the half Stevenage had there first chance of the game as there attack made a mockery of B.Arsenal but G.Burgess was alert enough to run out and smother the ball at the feet of the attacker. On the 64th minute we killed the game off as A.Anymoredohnuts showed some skill to turn his marker and fire past the keeper with a great curling effort. With six minutes remaining in the game we had one last with J.Scottlee of Hesselink firing just wide of the post when he really should of done better.

Hardly Athletic 2 C.Fantu 3, A.Anymoredohnuts 64

Stevenage 0

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, S.Carl Goatsburg (45-L.Schnitzel), A.Marks, C.de Bruijn, S.Stoehr (45-G.Bear), C.Fantu, A.Anymoredohnuts, J.Scottlee of Hesselink

Post Match Review: An excellent overall performance as we kept Stevenage away from the ball. We also restricted them to one real effort on the game which compared to previous games is brilliant. The Man of the Match Award will be going to C.Fantu who grabbed a good goal and generally played brilliantly during the game

November 2nd: Barnet v Hardly Athletic: Blue Square Premier (17/46)

We again started well and on the 11th minute we had the chance to open the scoring as A.Anymoredohnuts ran through the defence with ease but his final effort went wide of the goal. Nine minutes later we had another chance as C.Fantu curled the ball into the area for J.Scottlee of Hesselink to head in but he fluffed his header and the ball went wide of the post. On the 29th minute I was forced into a change as L.Schnitzel replaced the injured B.Arsenal after receiving a chest injury. Ten minutes later Barnet had there first real attack as they piled forward but before they had the chance to shoot T.Owens slid in cleared the ball.

Half Time Score 0-0

The second half started with me bringing on D.O’Toole for the ineffective A.Anymoredohnuts. However a minute into the half Barnet grabbed the lead as J.O’Flynn fired in a thunderous effort past G.Burgess to give him no chance. Eight minutes later they had another chance as there attack piled into the area but they were thwarted as S.Carl Goatsburg and T.Owens sandwiched the attacker and cleared the ball. Just after the hour we managed to grab an equaliser as D.O’Toole made space in the area for himself and volleyed home a S.Stoehr cross. However with seven minutes remaining we gave Barnet the chance to get all three points as L.Schnitzel mistimed his tackle in the area to give Barnet a penalty, J.O’Flynn stepped up and fired towards goal and despite the best efforts of G.Burgess the ball went in and Barnet grabbed all three points.

Barnet 2 J.O’Flynn 46, 83 pen

Hardly Athletic 1 D.O’Toole 62

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal (inj 29-L.Schnitzel), G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, S.Carl Goatsburg, Ishu, C.de Bruijn, S.Stoehr, C.Fantu, A.Anymoredohnuts (45-D.O’Toole), J.Scottlee of Hesselink

Post Match Review: We again played well but one slip in defence cost us a deserved share of the points. The Man of the Match Award will be going to T.Owens who marshalled the defence well. On the injury from though we will be without B.Arsenal for around a fortnight after bruising his ribs in the first half

November 13th: Hardly Athletic v Wrexham: Blue Square Premier (18/46)

We started well as we kept Wrexham away from the ball. On the 16th minute we opened the scoring as J.Scottlee of Hesselink barged his way through the defence to fire past the Wrexham keeper. Seven minutes later we had another chance with A.Anymoredohnuts firing just wide of the post after running onto a C.de Bruijn throughball. On the 37th minute though we conceded the equaliser as M.Williams beat the defence with ease and fired past G.Burgess. On the stroke of half time Wrexham had another chance with a long range effort which was diverted wide by B.Arsenal.

Half Time Score 1-1

The start of the second half saw the introduction of D.O’Toole for A.Anymoredohnuts. On the 54th minute we had another chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink barged into the defence and fired past the keeper but his effort was well saved by the Wrexham keeper. On the 65th minute I made another change as G.Bear came on for a very quiet C.Fantu. With ten minutes remaining the next goal was scored as the Wrexham attack fired in off the crossbar but it rebounded back off the crossbar and hit G.Burgess and back into the net for an own goal. However on the stroke of full time we grabbed the equaliser as C.de Bruijn fired in from the corner of the area to send our fans wild. Deep into injury time though Wrexham grabbed the winner as M.Williams ran into the area and fired past G.Burgess to give them all three points

Hardly Athletic 2 J.Scottlee of Hesselink 16, C.de Bruijn 90

Wrexham 3 M.Williams 37, 90+2, G.Burgess og 80

Post Match Review: Again I cant complain about the performance, we played very well and its just a shame we didn’t walk away with all three points but that’s football for you. The Man of the Match Award will be going to J.Scottlee of Hesselink who played very well during the ninety minutes

November 16th: Internationals news sees A.Marks play for Wales U21’s in there 5-1 loss against Russia in the U21 friendly match, he came on at the half time interval and earnt a rating of 6.6

November 20th: Hardly Athletic v Welling: Blue Square Premier (19/46)

We again started well and on the 6th minute we went into the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran through the defence and fired past the Welling keeper. Nine minutes later we grabbed another goal as F.F.Tikle-Wok fired onto the crossbar but unfortunately for Welling J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran in and slotted home the loose ball. We were in complete control and on the 27th minute we fired another goal past the Welling keeper as S.Saville fired in from close range after a melee in the Welling area.

Half Time Score 3-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half as M.Samedan and D.O’Toole came on for Ishu and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. Four minutes into the half we had another chance as G.Bear curled the ball into the area but D.O’Toole managed to head wide of the post. On the 65th minute we grabbed another goal as S.Carl Goatsburg headed in from close range after a wicked cross into the area by S.Saville. Nine minutes later we should have had goal number five as F.F.Tikle-Wok fired in past the keeper but the goal was ruled out by the referee for a foul during the build up. With five minutes remaining we grabbed another goal as D.O’Toole fired in from close range after playing a one two with F.F.Tikle-Wok

Hardly Athletic 5 F.F.Tikle-Wok 6, J.Scottlee of Hesselink 15, S.Saville 27, S.Carl Goatsburg 65, D.O’Toole 85

Welling 0

Players: H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, S.Carl Goatsburg, Ishu (45-M.Samedan), C.de Bruijn, S.Saville, G.Bear, F.F.Tikle-Wok, J.Scottlee of Hesselink (45-D.O’Toole)

Post Match Review: Well played lads, a very good performance and you did everything I asked for. We will be missing S.Saville for up to twelve days after bruising his head late in the game. The Man of the Match Award was a close fought thing, but I have decided F.F.Tikle-Wok will take the award as he caused problems all the way through the game

November 23rd: Mansfield v Hardly Athletic: Blue Square Premier (20/46)

Before the game I was informed that we have been drawn at home against AFC Telford in the 1st Round of the FA Trophy.

The first half started well for Mansfield as they piled forward and on the 9th minute they had the chance to take the lead as a wicked effort curled towards goal but H.Chaha reacted well and saved well. Eight minutes later they had another chance with a powerful effort which B.Arsenal managed to divert wide of the post. On the 27th minute Mansfield managed to grab the lead they deserved as B.Sturrock fired in from close range after some woeful defending by the whole team. With ten minutes remaining in the half we had our first chance of the game as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired in from close range but it was ruled out for offside.

Half Time Score 1-0

I again made a couple of changes at the start of the half as S.Stoehr and D.O’Toole for G.Bear and A.Anymoredohnuts. Six minutes into the half Mansfield went two goals up as B.Sturrock again fired past H.Chaha after a slip in defence again cost us. However after the second goal we seemed to up our game and on the 78th minute we pulled a goal back as Panpardus hit a brilliant effort past the keeper. It got even better for us as on the 81st minute we pulled the scores level as J.Scottlee of Hesselink hit the ball in off the upright. Deep into injury time though Mansfield grabbed the winner after a rash challenge on B.Arsenal wasn’t seen by the referee and K.Perry fired past the H.Chaha.

Mansfield 3 B.Sturrock 27, 51, K.Perry 90+2

Hardly Athletic 2 Panpardus 78, J.Scottlee of Hesselink 81

Players: H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, M.Kowalski, T.Owens, L.Schnitzel, Ishu, M.Samedan, Panpardus, G.Bear (45-S.Stoehr), J.Scottlee of Hesselink, A.Anymoredohnuts (45-D.O’Toole)

Post Match Review: A poor first half was made better by a great second half. I can’t complain about the loss as the winning goal shouldn’t of stood after the foul on B.Arsenal. The foul will leave B.Arsenal out of action for around 3-4 weeks after receiving a gashed leg. The Man of the Match Award will go too Panpardus who played well throughout the second half and was the better player throughout the game

November 25th: I have been warned by the FA to watch what I say about the referee after I told the press I was far from happy that he didn’t spot the blatant foul

November 26th: Injury news sees M.Wilson out of action for around two weeks after bruising his thigh in training

December 1st: Hardly Athletic v Cambridge: Blue Square Premier (21/46)

Cambridge began the better and on the 17th minute they went into the lead as G.Tomlin sprinted past T.Owens and fired under H.Chaha. Nine minutes later we had our first chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired in from long range but his effort was tipped round the post by the Cambridge keeper, from the resulting corner M.Kowalski headed into the keepers arms. With eight minutes remaining in the half we grabbed the equaliser as T.Owens headed in from a G.Bear corner after M.Samedans initial effort was well saved. However on our joy didn’t last too long as on the 41st minute Cambridge grabbed the lead back again as C.Pitt slotted the ball in past H.Chaha after some more dodgy defending by the back four.

Half Time Score 1-2

The second half saw me bringing on a couple of players as S.Stoehr and D.O’Toole coming on for Panpardus and A.Anymoredohnuts. The second half though didn’t get off to the best starts as on the 55th minute Cambridge took a two goal lead as G.Tomlin whipped in a brilliant freekick from 25 yards after T.Owens slid through the back of the Cambridge attack and was in truth lucky to not too be sent off. On the 69th minute we had our first real chance of the half as D.O’Toole tried his luck from outside the area but again the Cambridge keeper saved the day. With five minutes remaining we managed to pull a goal back as D.O’Toole threaded the ball to the feet of J.Scottlee of Hesselink who wasted no time to slid the ball past the keeper. On the 89th minute we had another chance as D.O’Toole headed towards goal from a G.Bear cross but his header went just wide of the post and we lost another game

Hardly Athletic 2 T.Owens 37, J.Scottlee of Hesselink 85

Cambridge 3 G.Tomlin 17, 55, C.Pitt 41

Players: H.Chaha, G.Spavlachenko, M.Kowalski, T.Owens, L.Schnitzel, Ishu, M.Samedan, Panpardus (45-S.Stoehr), G.Bear, , J.Scottlee of Hesselink, A.Anymoredohnuts (45-D.O’Toole)

Post Match Review: We only seem to start playing when we area couple of goals down. We need to start improving the defending and that’s the whole team not just the back four. The game came at a cost though as J.Scottlee of Hesselink will be out of action for around 5-6 weeks after pulling his hamstring late in the game. The Man of the Match Award will be going to D.O’Toole who played brilliantly during the second half

We had the better of the starts and on the 5th minute we went into the lead as D.O’Toole ran onto a S.Stoehr throughball to fire past the Kidderminster keeper. However after the goal we seemed to press the self destruct button. On the 22nd minute we conceded a silly goal as D.Knights sprinted between the back four and fired without much effort past H.Chaha. Four minutes later it didn’t get any better as a simple long ball wasn’t dealt with by the defence and D.Knights fired in past the keeper. Kidderminster were causing all sorts of problems, but with eight minutes remaining in the half we grabbed the equaliser as a vicious cross by S.Stoehr was volleyed in by A.Anymoredohnuts.

Half Time Score 2-2

I made a couple of changes to the team as C.de Bruijn and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for the A.Marks and A.Anymoredohnuts. Twelve minutes into the half we conceded again as the Kidderminster team easily beat my whole midfield and defence to fire past H.Chaha who was in truth very slow to react to the effort. On the hour I was about ready to blow my top as we again conceded as D.Knights completed his hat trick with a wickedly struck effort which the keeper stood no chance in saving, however the defending was again pretty embarrassing. We just weren’t at the races and just before the full time interval we had H.Chaha to thank for a great reaction save that denied Kidderminster a deserved fifth goal

Kidderminster 4 D.Knights 22, 26, 60, J.McCann 57

Hardly Athletic 2 D.O’Toole 5, A.Anymoredohnuts 37

Players: H.Chaha, S.Carl Goatsburg, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, L.Schnitzel, C.Fantu, A.Marks (45-C.de Bruijn), Panpardus, S.Stoehr, D.O’Toole, A.Anymoredohnuts (45-F.F.Tikle-Wok)

Post Match Review: We just didn’t perform as a team today, defence and midfield just didn’t communicate with each other. The only player in the midfield deserved any sort of recognition and that was Man of the Match S.Stoehr who assisted with two goals and tried his best to mop everyone else’s mistakes up

December 11th: Hardly Athletic v AFC Telford: FA Trophy 1st Round

After the recent poor performance in the League I told them to forget about that and lets get going in the FA Trophy. However it was Telford who began the better as they piled forward and on the 13th minute they had the chance to grab the lead with a rasping effort which H.Chaha saved well. Ten minutes later we came close to losing the lead again as a long ball over the top was volleyed towards goal but L.Schnitzel put his body in the way and denied them the chance. On the 32nd minute we had our first real chance of the game as S.Stoehr curled the ball into the area for D.O’Toole who headed just wide of the post. Eight minutes later we had another chance as Panpardus headed just wide of the post from an A.Marks cross.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made one change at the start of the half as F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for A.Anymoredohnuts. The change worked wonders for us as on the 56th minute it was his threaded pass to the feet of D.O’Toole who wasted no time in firing past the Telford keeper. Ten minutes later we had another chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok headed just wide of the post after rising above his defender. We were beginning to control the game and on the 77th minute S.Stoehr tried his luck from out side the area but the Telford keeper was on hand to deny him

Hardly Athletic 1 D.O’Toole 56

AFC Telford 0

Players: H.Chaha, S.Carl Goatsburg, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, L.Schnitzel, C.Fantu, A.Marks, Panpardus, S.Stoehr, D.O’Toole, A.Anymoredohnuts (45-F.F.Tikle-Wok)

Post Match Review: A better second half performance and hopefully we can carry this on into the League. The Man of the Match Award will be going to D.O’Toole for his goal and his general movement during the game

December 13th: Injury news sees B.Arsenal returning to full training

December 14th: The draw for the FA Trophy 2nd Round sees us pitted at home against Tamworth

December 18th: Injury news sees S.Stoehr out of action for around a month after twisting his knee during training

December 26th: Hardly Athletic v Hereford: Blue Square Premier (23/46)

We started well and on the 6th minute we grabbed the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok fired in from close range, but his celebrations were cut short as the referee blew ruled it out for a foul on the defence. On the 19th minute though Hereford took the lead as C.Jones hit a thunderous effort from 25 yards past G.Burgess, who stood no chance of saving. Ten minutes later we had our next chance as G.Spavlachenko threaded the ball to the feet of D.O’Toole who managed to screw his effort wide of the post. On the 37th minute we had another chance as C.de Bruijn tried his luck from outside the area but his effort was well saved by the Hereford keeper.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made a change at the start of the half as S.Carl Goatsburg replaced T.Owens who seemed to have been struggling from a knock early in the first half. A minute into the half we grabbed the equaliser as G.Spavlachenko fired in a wicked cross which was diverted past the Hereford keeper by A.Bartlett for an own goal. Ten minutes later we had another chance as D.O’Toole tried an audacious effort from the corner of the area but the Hereford keeper saved well. On the hour I made a couple more changes with Panpardus and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for C.de Bruijn and F.F.Tikle-Wok. On the 77th minute we had one more chance as C.Fantu fired in from close range after G.Spavlachenko cross eluded the defence but he scuffed his effort wide of the post. After the effort A.Marks seemed to be struggling and wasn’t running freely. We had one final effort on the 88th minute as A.Anymoredohnuts fired just wide of the post after a great cross field pass by Panpardus.

Hardly Athletic 1 A.Bartlett og 46

Hereford 1 C.Jones 19

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens (45-S.Carl Goatsburg), M.Kowalski, A.Marks, S.Saville, C.de Bruijn (60-Panpardus), C.Fantu, D.O’Toole, F.F.Tikle-Wok (60-A.Anymoredohnuts)

Post Match Review: We really should of won the game as we dominated the majority of it. I couldn’t of asked for much more really from the defence and midfield, however the attack you need to be alot more lethal in front of goal. The game came at a cost though as A.Marks will be out for around 5-6 weeks with a pulled hamstring. Good news though sees T.Owens only picking up a knock and will be fit for the next game. The Man of the Match Award will be going to G.Spavlachenko controlled the wing with ease and provided several great crosses but his assists didn’t really give us the goals we deserved

Your not too bad Stoehrst :D

December 28th: Hardly Athletic v Barrow: Blue Square Premier (24/46)

We got off too a great start and on the 3rd minute we went into the lead as C.Fantu curled in a great freekick from 25 yards after D.O’Toole was brought down on his way to goal. Five minutes later we had another chance as a G.Spavlachenko curled the ball into the area but F.F.Tikle-Wok headed wide of the post. On the 22nd minute we grabbed another goal as D.O’Toole ran onto a S.Saville throughball and fired past the keeper. Just after the half hour we had yet another chance with D.O’Toole coming close but his header went wide of the post again. With a minute remaining in the half we conceded a silly goal as T.Owens failed to clear a loose ball and M.Kamara fired in under G.Burgess.

Half Time Score 2-1

The second half saw us continue the dominance and on the 51st minute we came close to another goal with F.F.Tikle-Wok firing in a powerful effort past the keeper but the referee ruled the goal out for a foul in the build up. On the 65th minute Barrow pulled the scores level as M.Kamara jinked past the defence and fired past G.Burgess. Straight after the goal I made a couple of changes as Ishu and A.Anymoredohnuts came on for C.de Bruijn and F.F.Tikle-Wok. Soon after the change we came close to grab the lead back as D.O’Toole played a one two with C.Fantu but his effort went wide of the post.

Hardly Athletic 2 C.Fantu 3, D.O’Toole 22

Barrow 2 M.Kamara 44, 65

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, M.Kowalski, Panpardus, S.Saville, C.de Bruijn (65-Ishu), C.Fantu, D.O’Toole, F.F.Tikle-Wok (65-A.Anymoredohnuts)

Post Match Review: An excellent performance in truth, with us dominating much of the game. However we just need to concentrate upfront and at the back. The Man of the Match Award will be going to G.Spavlachenko who controlled the wing play with ease

December 30th: Injury news sees J.Scottlee of Hesselink returning to full training

January 1st 2011: Rushden v Hardly Athletic: Blue Square Premier (25/46)

Again we started well and on the 17th minute we went into the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok sprinted into the area and fired past the Rushden keeper. Straight after the goal Rushden were reduced to ten men after J.Beecroft was sent off for a second yellow card after arguing with referee. Nine minutes later though Rushden pulled level as A.Phillip barged his way through the defence to slide the ball under the body of my keeper. On the 27th minute though D.O’Toole gave us back the lead as D.O’Toole headed in from a C.Fantu cross. Seven minutes later it got even better as D.O’Toole fired an unstoppable effort past the Rushden keeper. On the 36th minute we had the ball in the net again with C.de Bruijn threaded the ball to the feet of D.O’Toole who wasted no time in rounding the keeper and firing into the open net.

Half Time Score 1-4

I made a couple of changes to the team at the half time interval as S.Carl Goatsburg and G.Bear coming on for M.Kowalski and C.Fantu. The second half wasn’t as free scoring as the first half but on the 61st minute we went further into the lead as S.Saville showed some skill to turn the defence and fire past the keeper. We were controlling play with ease but with three minutes remaining we conceded as W.Gray slotted home past G.Burgess from close range.

Rushden 2 A.Phillip 26, W.Gray 87

Hardly Athletic 5 F.F.Tikle-Wok 17, D.O’Toole 27, 34, 36, S.Saville 61

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, M.Kowalski (45-S.Carl Goatsburg), Panpardus, S.Saville, C.de Bruijn, C.Fantu (45-G.Bear), D.O’Toole, F.F.Tikle-Wok

Post Match Review: Another excellent performance by the team. I can’t complain about a single thing. Just keep this sort of performance up. The Man of the Match Award will be going to D.O’Toole for a superb hattrick and generally being causing problems for the whole ninety minutes

January 3rd: Hardly Athletic v York: Blue Square Premier (26/46)

We again started well and on the 19th minute we had the first chance with C.Fantu coming close from the edge of the area after the York defence failed to deal with his run. Eight minutes later we had another chance with D.O’Toole firing just wide of the post. Just after the half hour York had there first chance with a darting run in from the wing but B.Arsenal slid in and cleared the ball. On the 43rd minute we had our next chance with B.Arsenal crossing in from the wing but F.F.Tikle-Wok failed to head the ball past the keeper.

Half Time Score 0-0

The second half saw S.Carl Goatsburg and A.Anymoredohnuts coming on for G.Spavlachenko and C.de Bruijn. I also changed the formation to a 4-3-3. The second half again saw us starting well and on the 57th minute C.Fantu again came close but his effort was well saved by the York keeper. Nine minutes later we had another chance as A.Anymoredohnuts fired over the crossbar after making himself some space in the area. On the 85th minute we had one last chance as D.O’Toole headed straight into the arms of the keeper after a curling cross by Panpardus evaded the whole York defence

Hardly Athletic 0

York 0

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko (45-S.Carl Goatsburg), T.Owens, M.Kowalski, Panpardus, S.Saville, C.de Bruijn (45-A.Anymoredohnuts), C.Fantu, D.O’Toole, F.F.Tikle-Wok

Post Match Review: A great performance again as we piled a lot of pressure onto the York defence, however we failed to finish any of the chances. The Man of the Match Award will be going to B.Arsenal who was very solid down the wing and was always there when needed in defence

January 8th: Hardly Athletic v Tamworth: FA Trophy 2nd Round

We started the better and on the 7th minute we had the first chance of the game as D.O’Toole ran into the area and fired past the keeper, however is effort clipped the upright and went wide. Ten minutes later we had another chance with C.de Bruijn curling the ball into the area but F.F.Tikle-Wok couldn’t connect with the ball and it went out for a throw in. On the 22nd minute we had another chance with F.F.Tikle-Wok firing into the keepers arms. The keeper wasted no time in punting the ball up the field and S.Nicholson collected the ball and fired it past G.Burgess for the opening goal. Just after the half hour we had another chance to score as G.Bear fired towards goal but yet again the Tamworth keeper saved well.

Half Time Score 0-1

The second half saw us continuing the forward pressure and on the 53rd minute we had another chance as C.de Bruijn crossed the ball into the area and D.O’Toole fired wide of the post. Eleven minutes later we grabbed the equaliser we deserved as F.F.Tikle-Wok threaded the ball to the feet of G.Bear who fired in off the upright after the Tamworth keeper failed to react. On the 72nd minute I made the first change as A.Anymoredohnuts came on for D.O’Toole. We carried on piling forward and on the 85th minute we came close again with C.de Bruijn trying his luck from outside the area but his effort was again well saved by the Tamworth keeper. On the stroke of full time I made another change as C.Fantu came on for S.Saville.

Hardly Athletic 1 G.Bear 64

Tamworth 1 S.Nicholson 22

Players: G.Burgess, B.Arsenal, G.Spavlachenko, T.Owens, M.Kowalski, Panpardus, S.Saville (90-C.Fantu), C.de Bruijn, G.Bear, D.O’Toole (72-A.Anymoredohnuts), F.F.Tikle-Wok

Post Match Review: We again dominated the game and came away with nothing of note. I’m happy with the way the team played but we need to hit the ball into that thing called the net. The Man of the Match Award will be going to C.de Bruijn who was a constant menace down the wing.
