October 13th:Accrington (H) Coca Cola League Two (12/46)

Before the game I was informed that we have drawn League One Side Bradford in the Johnstones Paint Trophy ¼ Final North. We started the game well and on the 12th minute we had the first chance as a long ball over the top by G.Spavlachenko was fired towards goal by D.O’Toole but his effort went wide of the post. Three minutes later though we conceded a silly penalty after T.Owens brought down the Accrington attacker in the area, A.Proctor stepped up for the penalty and fired towards goal but despite M.Wilson’s best efforts the ball went in. On the 37th minute we had the chance of an equaliser as J.Scottlee of Hesselink tried his luck from the corner of the area but his effort went just over the crossbar.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half with G.Bear and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for Panpardus and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. Six minutes into the half we had our next chance to score as F.F.Tikle-Wok headed straight into the keepers arms from a G.Spavlachenko cross. On the 67th minute we had our next chance to score with S.Stoehr rattling the upright from just outside the area. It looked like we weren’t going to score but on the stroke of full time we got a lucky break through as a vicious effort by G.Spavlachenko rattled off the crossbar and hit D.Winnards back to rebound into the net for a comical own goal.

Hardly Athletic 1 D.Winnard 90 og

Post Match Review: How the hell we didn’t win this one I don’t know. We controlled the game and deserved a lot more than a point. Lads there’s not much you could of done, well apart from score. The Man of the Match Award will be going to G.Spavlachenko for the way he caused problems throughout the game to the opposition

October 20th: Brentford (H) Coca Cola League Two (13/46)

Within 30 seconds we had the chance to open the scoring as Panpardus was brought down in the area by the Brentford defence, D.O’Toole stepped up for the penalty and fired his penalty towards goal but the Brentford keeper saved well to deny them. On the 18th minute we had our next chance as S.Stoehr sprinted down the middle of the pitch and fired towards goal but his effort screwed just wide of the post. We were controlling the game with ease and on the 35th minute we had yet another chance to score as A.Marks tried his luck from outside the area but his effort rattled the upright. With a minute remaining in the half we finally took the lead we deserved as Panpardus jinked through the defence and rounded the keeper to slide the ball into the empty net.

Half Time Score 1-0

I made a couple of changes to the team with Ishu and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for M.Samedan and D.O’Toole. Eight minutes into the half we had another chance to score as Panpardus threaded the ball to the feet of J.Scottlee of Hesselink who fired just wide of the post. On the 61st minute we should of doubled our lead with F.F.Tikle-Wok wasting an effort from just inside the area as he fired over when he was clear on goal. Eight minutes later Brentford grabbed an equaliser after they counter attacked one of our many attacks and B.Burgess fired between the legs of M.Wilson. I changed the formation top a 4-3-3 with Panpardus moving up front. On the 78th minute we had our next chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed just wide of the post from a Panpardus cross. With five minutes remaining in the game we grabbed the lead as L.Schnitzel sprinted down the wing and crossed in but he screwed his cross and the ball looped over the Brentford keeper for a fluky goal. On the 87th minute we got the killer goal as Panpardus’s long range effort was tipped round the post for a corner, from the resulting A.Marks corner L.Schnitzel headed in to give us all three points

Hardly Athletic 3 Panpardus 44, L.Schnitzel 85, 87

Brentford 1 B.Burgess 69

Post Match Review: Another good performance lads and we deserved all three points. However the only worrying thing is that we are setting the chances up but are struggling to find the net. Its not just the strikers but as a team we do need to improve. The Man of the Match Award will be going to Panpardus who was at the heart of most of our attacks

After the game I was informed by the club physio that M.Kowalski has resumed full training and is potentially ready for the next match

October 27th: Hereford (A) Coca Cola League Two (14/46)

We started well and on the 18th minute we went into the lead as D.O’Toole played a great one two with J.Scottlee of Hesselink to fire under the body of the Hereford keeper. However ten minutes later we conceded a penalty after T.Owens brought down the Hereford attacker inside the area, K.Lunt stepped up for the penalty and fired past G.Burgess. On the 37th minute we had the chance to take back the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok headed just wide of the post from an A.Marks cross. With three minutes remaining in the half we conceded again with P.Younghusband taking full advantage of a T.Owens error to slide the ball past G.Burgess. On the stroke of halftime we grabbed the equaliser as Panpardus crossed into the area for F.F.Tikle-Wok to head past the keeper.

Half Time Score 2-2

Six minutes into the half Hereford grabbed the lead back as P.Younghusband made a mockery of T.Owens and fired past the outstretched arms of G.Burgess. On the 56th minute I made my first change as S.Carl Goatsburg was brought on in place of the pretty poor T.Owens. Four minutes later we grabbed the equaliser as F.F.Tikle-Wok used his strength to barge through the Hereford defence to fire past the keeper. On the 68th minute we took the lead as A.Marks played a one two with F.F.Tikle-Wok to fire past the keeper. Nine minutes later I made a couple of changes with S.Saville and J.Scottlee of Hesselink coming on for Panpardus and D.O’Toole. With eight minutes remaining in the game we had another chance to score as F.F.Tikle-Wok tried to curl the ball past the keeper but his effort went just wide of the post.

Hereford 3 K.Lunt 28 pen, P.Younghusband 42, 51

Hardly Athletic 4 D.O’Toole 18, F.F.Tikle-Wok 45+1, 60 A.Marks 68

G.Burgess, G.Spavlachenko, C.de Bruijn, L.Schnitzel, T.Owens (56-S.Carl Goatsburg), M.Samedan, A.Marks ©, S.Stoehr, Panpardus (77-S.Saville), D.O’Toole (77-J.Scottlee of Hesselink), F.F.Tikle-Wok

Post Match Review: An entertaining game for the fans and I was happy with performance with the majority of you. However one player seemed to have other things of his mind, T.Owens what was wrong today? The Man of the Match Award will be going to F.F.Tikle-Wok who was a constant thorn in the Hereford defence.

October 29th: The draw for the FA Cup 1st Round has seen us pitted away from home at League One side Watford

November 5th: Shrewsbury (A) Coca Cola League Two (15/46)

We were the better team and on the 19th minute we grabbed the lead as A.Anymoredohnuts fired into the net but the referee ruled it out for a foul in the build up. Twelve minutes later we had another chance with G.Bear heading just wide of the post from a S.Saville cross. On the 37th minute we came close again with A.Marks rattling the upright from outside the area. With two minutes remaining in the half we had another chance to score as A.Marks tried his luck from the corner of the net but his effort went wide of the post.

Half Time Score 0-0

The second half was much the same as we continued to control the game and on the 56th minute we finally grabbed the lead as D.O’Toole hit home from close range after running onto a G.Bear pass. Seven minutes later I made a couple of changes as T.Owens and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for S.Carl Goatsburg and D.O’Toole. On the 71st minute we had another chance to score with G.Bear trying again from distance but yet again his effort wouldn’t dip enough and the ball went over the crossbar. Shrewsbury weren’t getting anything of the ball and on the 81st minute we should of killed the game off as S.Saville headed towards goal from an A.Marks cross but his header was well saved by the opposition keeper. With six minutes remaining in the game we finally got the killer goal as A.Anymoredohnuts fired in from close range after a vicious cross by G.Bear.

Post Match Review: A very good performance by all of you. We fully deserved the three points and by rights should of grabbed several more goals. The Man of the Match Award will be going to G.Bear who dominated the midfield with ease.

November 10th: Watford (A) FA Cup 1st Round

We got off to a great start as on the 11th minute we went into the lead as G.Bear jinked through the defence and fired past the Watford keeper to silence the home crowd. However twelve minutes later a slip by Ishu saw the Watford team pile forward and D.Cowie fired in under the body of G.Burgess. On the 29th minute we had our next chance as D.O’Toole ran onto a G.Bear throughball to fire towards goal but the Watford keeper saved well. Six minutes later Watford came close with a rasping effort past G.Burgess but the upright saved our bacon. With three minutes remaining in the half we grabbed another goal as A.Anymoredohnuts headed in off the upright, however his goal was ruled out for a foul on the keeper.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change to the team at the start of the half with S.Stoehr coming on for A.Marks. Eight minutes into the half Watford came close to grabbing another goal with a great team move which saw them one on one with G.Burgess who saved well to deny them. On the 69th minute I made another change as J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for A.Anymoredohnuts. Five minutes later though a rash challenge by S.Carl Goatsburg saw Watford awarded a penalty, S.Long stepped up for the penalty and sent G.Burgess the wrong way to give them the lead. With eight minutes remaining in the game we again came close as J.Scottlee of Hesselink fired towards goal but the Watford keeper again saved the day.

Ten minutes later Bradford managed to grab an equaliser as they countered an attack and M.Higden fired in. November 17th: Darlington (H) Coca Cola League Two (16/46)

On the 12th minute Darlington came close to grabbing the lead with a great team move which was thwarted by a thunderous sliding tackle by L.Schnitzel. Eight minutes later they had another chance to score with a powerful effort towards goal but H.Chaha reacted well to tip the ball over the crossbar. On the 32nd minute we finally had our first chance as A.Anymoredohnuts came close with a curling effort towards goal but the Darlington keeper saved well to deny him. With three minutes remaining in the half Darlington took the lead as G.Murray headed in after S.Carl Goatsburg failed to deal with a simple cross.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made one change to the team at the start of the half with F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for A.Anymoredohnuts. On the 54th minute we had the first chance of the half with F.F.Tikle-Wok testing the Darlington keeper from outside the area. Nine minutes later we had another chance to score as D.O’Toole ran onto a S.Saville throughball to slide the ball just past the keeper. We were controlling the second half and on the 74th minute we again came close as L.Schnitzel crossed into the area for F.F.Tikle-Wok who managed to head wide of the post when the goal was gaping. With five minutes remaining in the game we finally got the equaliser as D.O’Toole hit a powerful effort in off the upright after making plenty of room for himself

Post Match Review: The second half was great but the first just wasn’t up to scratch. However I cant really complain to much about the performance. The Man of the Match Award will be going to L.Schnitzel who was a constant threat down the wings and was excellent in defence aswell

November 24th: Port Vale (H) Coca Cola League Two (17/46)

We controlled the game with ease as we kept the ball away from the Vale team. On the 7th minute we had our first real effort of the game as D.O’Toole barged through the defence and fired towards goal but the Vale keeper saved well to deny his effort. Soon after D.O’Toole again came close as he ran from the halfway line with the ball but before he had the chance to shoot the Vale defence slid through him and cleared the ball. On the 27th minute we had yet another chance to score as S.Saville was brought down in the area for a penalty, D.O’Toole stepped up for the penalty and hit the ball with power towards goal but his effort screwed wide of the post. With four minutes remaining in the half we had our next chance as a long ball from L.Schnitzel was half volleyed towards goal by A.Anymoredohnuts but his effort went over the crossbar and into the crowd.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half with G.Bear and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for Panpardus and A.Anymoredohnuts. A minute into the half we grabbed the goal we deserved as D.O’Toole ran onto an A.Marks throughball to slide the ball under the Vale keeper. Thirteen minutes later I was forced into a change after C.de Bruijn came on for the injured G.Bear after he clashed heads clearing a Vale ball from the defence. On the 67th minute we grabbed our second goal as B.Arsenal curled the ball in from the wing and D.O’Toole rose highest to head the ball over the Vale keeper and into the back of the net. Vale just weren’t getting anything from the ball and on the 86th minute we should have grabbed a third goal with a thunderous effort from F.F.Tikle-Wok but his effort was brilliantly saved by the Vale keeper. On the stroke of full time I was forced into taking Ishu off the pitch after he seemed to pull a muscle, however I didn’t bring another player on as I had already used all my subs

Post Match Review: A great performance lads as we dominated with ease. However the physio has reported that Ishu will be out of action for around 2-3 weeks after straining his groin. Good news though on the injury front is that G.Bear just picked up a knock and will be available for selection in the next game. The Man of the Match Award will be going to D.O’Toole who was dominant during the game

November 27th: Burton (A) Coca Cola League Two (18/46)

Again we dominated and on the 12th minute we should have grabbed the lead as A.Anymoredohnuts fired towards goal but his effort went just wide of the post after beating the keeper. Six minutes later we had another chance to score as D.O’Toole ran into the area but he failed to connect with a S.Saville cross and the ball went wide of the goal. It was getting too easy and on the 29th minute L.Schnitzel tried his luck from outside the area but again the effort went wide of the upright. On the stroke of half time we again came close to scoring as Panpardus was brought down in the area for a penalty, D.O’Toole stepped up for the kick and fired it with pace towards goal but the Burton keeper guessed right and saved the ball.

Half Time Score 0-0

Four minutes into the half the first goal was scored as L.Schnitzel’s back pass to H.Chaha hit a bobble and bounced of the keepers foot and into the net to send the Burton fans wild. On the 59th minute I made a couple of changes with C.Fantu and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for Panpardus and A.Anymoredohnuts. Eight minutes later we had our next chance to score with a great team move which saw C.Fantu coming close with a thunderous effort from just inside the area but it was acrobatically saved by the Burton keeper. On the 74th minute we finally grabbed the equaliser as F.F.Tikle-Wok used great vision to see the keeper off his line and curled the ball over his head and into the back of the net. With three minutes remaining we had our next chance to score as D.O’Toole headed in from close range after a great cross by A.Marks but his header went straight into the keepers arms

Burton 1 L.Schnitzel og 49

Hardly Athletic 1 F.F.Tikle-Wok 74

H.Chaha, B.Arsenal, L.Schnitzel, S.Carl Goatsburg, T.Owens, A.Marks ©, C.de Bruijn, S.Saville, Panpardus (59-C.Fantu), D.O’Toole, A.Anymoredohnuts(59-F.F.Tikle-Wok)

Post Match Review: We should have grabbed all three points as we dominated the game with ease. I can’t really complain with the performance though lads. The Man of the Match Award will be going to A.Marks who was at the heart of a lot of our moves

December 4th: Gillingham (H) Coca Cola League Two (19/46)

Gillingham began the better and on 12th minute they came close with a powerful effort which had H.Chaha saving well to deny them. Ten minutes later Gillingham again came close as there defence piled forward but S.Carl Goatsburg slid in a blocked the effort. On the 34th minute we had our first chance of the game as C.de Bruijn crossed the ball into the area and D.O’Toole headed straight into the arms of the keeper. With three minutes remaining in the half we had our next chance as S.Saville tried his luck from outside the area but the Gillingham keeper managed to tip the effort round the post.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half as G.Spavlachenko and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for B.Arsenal and A.Anymoredohnuts. Twelve minutes into the half we had the chance to score as F.F.Tikle-Wok headed just wide of the post from a S.Saville cross. On the 62nd minute I made another change with S.Stoehr coming on for Panpardus. Eight minutes later Gillingham came close to grabbing the equaliser as the some of the defenders fell asleep but S.Carl Goatsburg slid in at the last minute to clear the ball. On the 81st minute Gillingham again came close with a rasping effort which had H.Chaha saving well. Four minutes later we grabbed all three points as D.O’Toole fired in from outside the area to give the Gillingham keeper no chance to save.

Hardly Athletic 1 D.O’Toole 85

Gillingham 0

Post Match Review: Despite the way we struggled we got the three points. Well done lads for your perseverance. However the game came at a cost as we lost D.O’Toole for around a month with a pulled hamstring. The Man of the Match Award will be going to S.Carl Goatsburg who kept the Gillingham attackers at bay

December 8th: Bury (A) Coca Cola League Two (20/46)

Not a great game in truth as we failed to make any sort of impact on the game. On the 23rd minute Bury went into the lead as M.Noble headed in from close range after some dire defending. Ten minutes later Bury had another chance with a great team move but L.Schnitzel slid in and cleared the ball. On the 37th minute Bury had yet another chance to score with a thunderous effort which had H.Chaha acrobatically saving the ball. With a minute remaining in the half Bury grabbed another goal as J.Smith headed in from close range after some poor defending.

Half Time Score 2-0

I made one change to the team as S.Stoehr came on for Panpardus. Eleven minutes into the half Bury came close to grabbing another goal with a powerful effort which had H.Chaha denying them. We were being beaten to every ball and on the 68th minute a rash challenge by C.de Bruijn saw Bury awarded a penalty, A.Bishop stepped up for the penalty and fired towards goal but H.Chaha guessed right and saved the ball. Eight minutes later Bury grabbed another goal as A.Bishop made up for the missed penalty with a rasping effort which gave H.Chaha no chance of saving. With four minutes remaining in the game Bury made it 4-0 as M.Kowalski handled in the area for a penalty, A.Bishop stepped up for the penalty and fired past H.Chaha. However deep into injury time we grabbed a goal back as A.Anymoredohnuts headed in from close range from a S.Stoehr cross

Bury 4 M.Noble 23, J.Smith 44, A.Bishop 76, 86 pen

Hardly Athletic 1 A.Anymoredohnuts 90+2

Post Match Review: We just didn’t turn up again. We need to start to get more consistent if we are to push up the table. The game saw us lose the services of A.Anymoredohnuts for around a month after pulling his hamstring whilst scoring. The Man of the Match Award will be going to H.Chaha after his saves kept the scoreline respectable

December 15th: Exeter (H) Coca Cola League Two (21/46)

Ten minutes into the game we had the first chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran into the defence and fired towards goal but his effort was well saved by the Exeter keeper. On the 18th minute we had another chance to score as F.F.Tikle-Wok barged into the defence but before he had the chance to shoot the referee had stopped play for a foul. Four minutes later Exeter grabbed the lead as A.Kington rose highest to nod into the net past H.Chaha. Just after the half hour we grabbed the equaliser as C.Fantu crossed into the area for F.F.Tikle-Wok head into the back of the net. With nine minutes remaining in the half we grabbed the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok hit a thunderous effort into the top corner of the net to send the crowd wild.

Half Time Score 2-1

I made one change to the team at half time as S.Stoehr came on for G.Bear. On the 54th minute we had our next chance to score as L.Schnitzel ran down the wing and crossed into the area but S.Stoehr headed just wide of the post. Ten minutes later we had another chance with C.de Bruijn sprinting down the middle of the field but before he had the chance to shoot the Exeter defence slid in and cleared the ball. On the 79th minute we came close to conceding as M.Samedan gave up possession too easily and the Exeter attack fired towards goal but H.Chaha was on hand to block the effort. Deep into injury time Exeter grabbed a dramatic equaliser as T.Pekhart made his way through the defence with far too much ease and fired under H.Chaha to give Exeter a share of the points

Post Match Review: A better performance than what we’ve had recently. However we just need to concentrate for the full ninety minutes. The physio has let me know that S.Carl Goatsburg will be missing for around 3-4 weeks after twisting his ankle. The Man of the Match Award will be going to F.F.Tikle-Wok for his brace and general nuisance to the Exeter defence

December 22nd: Stockport (A) Coca Cola League Two (22/46)

We began well and on the 13th minute we had the first chance with C.Fantu curling the ball towards goal but his effort was well saved by the Stockport keeper. Eight minutes later we had another chance as the Stockport defence failed to deal with a C.de Bruijn long ball and F.F.Tikle-Wok fired towards goal but the Stockport keeper saved the day with a great save. On the 32nd minute Stockport came close to grabbing the lead as their attack piled into the area but T.Owens slid in and cleared the ball. With nine minutes remaining in the half Stockport had another chance to score as they barged through the defence but T.Owens again blocked the effort bravely.

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half as A.Marks and S.Stoehr came on for M.Samedan and C.de Bruijn. Four minutes into the half Stockport grabbed the lead as a poor backpass by L.Schnitzel saw P.Thompson intercept the ball and fire under H.Chaha. On the 54th minute Stockport had another chance to score as yet again some poor play by the midfield saw their attack piling forward but T.Owens again rescued the day with a thunderous challenge. On the 61st minute we managed to grab an equaliser as a cross by G.Bear was diverted past the Stockport keeper by M.Fotheringham for an own goal. Ten minutes later we managed to muster up a chance to take the lead as G.Bear crossed into the area for J.Scottlee of Hesselink to head towards goal but his header was well saved. On the stroke of full time I was forced into change as S.Saville came on for the injured S.Stoehr

Post Match Review: We were outplayed for the majority of this game. We really need to get some consistency. The game did come at a cost aswell as we lost the services of S.Stoehr who will be missing from action for around 6-8 weeks with strained knee ligaments. The Man of the Match Award will be going to T.Owens who luckily for us dominated the defence to deny the Stockport attackers

December 26th: Chesterfield (H) Coca Cola League Two (23/46)

We started the better and on the 12th minute we had the first chance of the game as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran into the area but his effort was well saved by the Chesterfield keeper. Four minutes later though Chesterfield grabbed the lead as A.McDonald rose highest to nod home a great cross. On the 26th minute we managed to grab the equaliser as S.Saville threaded the ball to the feet of F.F.Tikle-Wok who wasted no time in firing under the onrushing Spireites keeper. Eight minutes later we should have grabbed another goal but J.Scottlee of Hesselink’s long range effort rattled the crossbar after a superb save by the Chesterfield keeper.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made one change to the team at half time with A.Marks coming on for C.Fantu. On the 62nd minute we had our next chance of the game with S.Saville trying his luck from outside the area but his effort was well saved by the Chesterfield keeper. Eight minutes later Chesterfield came close to grabbing the lead as they piled into the area but H.Chaha reacted well and blocked the effort. On the 74th minute we had our next chance as A.Marks crossed into the area but J.Scottlee of Hesselink’s header went just wide of the post. With eight minutes remaining in the game Chesterfield had the chance to take the lead after B.Arsenal slid in on the attacker and was adjudged to have fouled him in the area, E.Showunmi stepped up and fired the ball past H.Chaha to give Chesterfield all three points. I was furious with the referee as the tackle in my opinion was clean.

Post Match Review: Unlucky lads, we should have had a share of the points and the referee had cost us the points in this one. The Man of the Match Award will be going to S.Saville who was brilliant in the midfield

December 27th: After complaining in the press regarding the referee in the last match I was expecting something from the FA but as of yet there is nothing

December 29th: Bournemouth (H) Coca Cola League Two (24/46)

We were the better team and on the 7th minute we had our first chance as J.Scottlee of Hesselink ran into the area and fired towards goal but his effort went wide of the post. Ten minutes later we had another chance as S.Saville crossed into the area for F.F.Tikle-Wok but his effort went just wide of the post. Bournemouth weren’t getting much of the ball and on the 33rd minute we had another chance as C.de Bruijn tried his luck from outside the area but the keeper managed to block the effort, unfortunately noone was there to fire in the loose ball

Half Time Score 0-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half with A.Marks and D.O’Toole coming on for M.Samedan and J.Scottlee of Hesselink. On the 54th minute we had our first chance of the half as D.O’Toole ran onto a F.F.Tikle-Wok ball to fire towards goal but the Bournemouth keeper saved well to deny them. Just after the hour we let ourselves down as J.White took advantage of some slock defending by the whole team to slot the ball home past H.Chaha. On the 73rd minute we should have grabbed the equaliser as D.O’Toole wasted a clear cut chance from six yards after a great cross by C.de Bruijn saw him clear in front of goal. With ten minutes remaining in the game we got the equaliser we deserved as F.F.Tikle-Wok rose highest to nod home a S.Saville cross after he beat the Bournemouth defence with ease

Hardly Athletic 1 F.F.Tikle-Wok 80

Post Match Review: We dominated with ease but in truth we should have grabbed all three points. One silly mistake cost us the points, however we won’t dwell on that and lets make the New Year a great one for the club and push for a decent position in the table. The Man of the Match Award will be going to F.F.Tikle-Wok who played an absolute stormer up front

After the game I was informed that A.Anymoredohnuts has resumed full training following his recent injury

January 1st 2013: Grimsby (A) Coca Cola League Two (25/46)

We got off to a great start as on the 5th minute A.Marks threaded the ball to the feet of D.O’Toole who wasted no time in firing past the Grimsby keeper. Seven minutes later we doubled the lead as D.O’Toole headed in another A.Marks cross. Grimsby looked shell shocked and on the 23rd minute we had another chance as G.Bear tried his luck from outside the area but the Grimsby keeper saved well to deny us. Eight minute later we had another chance as D.O’Toole fluffed the chance for his hattrick as he fired straight into the keepers arms when he really should have scored.

Half Time Score 0-2

I made a couple of changes at the start of the half with C.Fantu and G.Spavlachenko coming on for Ishu and M.Samedan. Eleven minutes into the half we should have grabbed another goal as A.Marks crossed to the far post for F.F.Tikle-Wok who headed just over the crossbar. On the 67th minute Grimsby had the chance to pull a goal back as L.Schnitzel slid in on the attacker to concede a penalty, the Grimsby attacker stepped up and fired towards goal but G.Burgess guessed right and tipped the ball around the post. With five minutes remaining in the game we had the final chance as A.Marks again came close with a long range effort which just over the crossbar

January 9th: Oxford (H) Coca Cola League Two (26/46)

Eight minutes into the game we had the first chance of the game as F.F.Tikle-Wok showed some great vision to lob the Oxfords keeper from outside the area however the ball didn’t dip enough and bounced off the crossbar. On the 16th minute we had another chance to score as G.Bear hit the ball towards goal from just inside the area but the Oxford keeper was alert enough to block the effort and the Oxford defence cleared the ball up the pitch. Just before the half hour we got the lead as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran through the defence with real ease and slotted the ball past the onrushing Oxford keeper. Just before the break Oxford had their first chance to score as they piled forward but M.Wilson blocked the effort to deny the Oxford striker.

Half Time Score 1-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half as C.Fantu and J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for M.Samedan and D.O’Toole. Six minutes into the half we had our next chance of the game as F.F.Tikle-Wok fired the ball towards goal but the Oxford keeper managed to block the effort. On the hour we grabbed another goal a cross by G.Bear was diverted into the net by S.Killock for an own goal. Eleven minutes later Oxford had the chance to pull a goal back as an Oxford counter attack saw them one on one with M.Wilson who reacted well and denied the Oxford goal. With nine minutes remaining in the game we had one last chance with G.Bear crossing the ball into the area but J.Scottlee of Hesselink headed straight into the keepers arms

January 12th: Oldham (A) Coca Cola League Two (27/46)

On the 13th minute Oldham took the lead as B.Arsenal’s poor backpass was intercepted by J.Ibehre who fired under M.Wilson. Six minutes later we had our first chance as D.O’Toole sprinted onto an A.Marks throughball but his effort went wide of the post. Half Time Score 1-0

I made a couple of change to the team during the interval with C.Fantu and J.Scottlee of Hesselink coming on for Ishu and D.O’Toole. Eleven minutes into the half we had our next chance as G.Bear tried his luck from outside the area but his effort was well saved by the Oldham keeper. On the 66th minute Oldham grabbed another goal as they countered another one of our attacks and L.Esdaile fired under M.Wilson who was alittle slow to react. Nine minutes later Oldham came close to killing the game completely off with a rasping effort but M.Wilson saved well to deny them. On the 82nd minute we managed to pull a goal back as C.Fantu hit an unstoppable effort past the Oldham keeper. Seven minutes later we were on level terms as C.Fantu again hit the ball in from distance to silence the Oldham crowd. Deep into injury time we conceded a penalty as B.Arsenal slid in on the Oldham attacker on the area, however after the tackle B.Arsenal didn’t get up and had to be replaced with G.Spavlachenko coming on in his place, P.Black stepped up for the resulting penalty and sent M.Wilson the wrong way to give Oldham all three points

The second half was eleven minutes old when Wycombe grabbed the equaliser as C.Barnett barged through our defence to slide the ball past G.Burgess. On the 58th minute I made a couple of changes with G.Bear and J.Scottlee of Hesselink coming on for M.Samedan and F.F.Tikle-Wok. Nine minutes later we had the chance to take the lead as G.Bear hit a thunderous effort towards the top corner of the goal but the Wycombe keeper saved well. January 26th: Carlisle (A) Coca Cola League Two (29/46)

A very even game in truth as both my team and the Carlisle team piled forward. It was Carlisle though who took the lead as G.Beuzelin ran through my defence with ease and fired past G.Burgess. Five minutes later though we grabbed the equaliser as D.O’Toole headed bravely in from a Panpardus cross. On the 29th minute we had our next chance as D.O’Toole barged his way through the defence to fire towards goal but the Carlisle keeper saved well to deny him. With three minutes remaining in the half we had another chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok headed wide of the post from a M.Samedan cross.

Half Time Score 1-1

I made a couple of changes to the team at the start of the half as A.Marks and J.Scottlee of Hesselink came on for C.de Bruijn and F.F.Tikle-Wok. Eight minutes into the half Carlisle had the chance to take the lead as a long ball over the top was volleyed towards goal but his effort was diverted wide of the post by M.Kowalski. On the 65th minute Carlisle had another chance with a thunderous effort which had G.Burgess had at full stretch to save. Twelve minutes later we grabbed the lead as D.O’Toole was brought down in the area by the Carlisle defence for a penalty, D.O’Toole stepped up and fired past the diving keeper. With seven minutes remaining in the game Carlisle got the equaliser with a well worked team move which saw K.Hurst firing into the bottom left hand corner past G.Burgess

Post Match Review: I have no real complaints about the point. We performed well and in truth there was nothing we could do about the two goals we conceded. The Man of the Match Award will be going to D.O’Toole who grabbed both our goals and caused a lot of problems in the Carlisle defence

January 30th: International news sees S.Carl Goatsburg captain Thailand in there 2-1 Asian Cup Qualifier victory against Lebanon. He played the full match and earnt a rating of 5.7

February 4th: Merthyr (H) Coca Cola League Two (30/46)

Before the game started I was informed by the physio that S.Stoehr is back in full training. We got off to a bad start in the game as on the 13th minute Merthyr beat my defence with ease to let D.Bunce fire under G.Burgess. Eight minutes later we had our first chance as A.Anymoredohnuts rose highest to head towards goal from a C.de Bruijn cross. On the 26th minute we grabbed the equaliser as D.O’Toole ran onto a C.de Bruijn throughball to fire in under the Merthyr keeper. It got even better for us on the 33rd minute as A.Anymoredohnuts connected with a C.de Bruijn cross to head in a C.de Bruijn cross. With a minute remaining in the half we had another chance as Ishu jinked into the area and fired towards goal but the Merthyr keeper saved well to deny him.

Half Time Score 2-1

The second half saw us up our game and we started to dominate. On the 54th minute we had our next chance to score with Panpardus trying his luck from outside the area but his effort was well saved by the Merthyr keeper. Six minutes later we had another chance with D.O’Toole barging into the area but before he had the chance to shoot the Merthyr defence slid in and cleared the ball. On the 78th minute I made a couple of changes as S.Stoehr and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for A.Marks and A.Anymoredohnuts. Nine minutes later we had our final chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok headed just wide of the post from a C.de Bruijn cross

Post Match Review: We played well once we got over the poor start and fully deserved the three points. Were in the final stretch of the season and I want to see you all knuckle down and play each of the final games as though they were a Cup Final. The Man of the Match Award will be going to C.de Bruijn who was brilliant with his deliveries and his general play

Ten minutes into the game we grabbed the lead as D.O’Toole ran through the defence and fired past the Torquay keeper. Nine minutes later D.O’Toole came close to grabbing another goal but his effort from the edge of the area was well saved by the keeper. On the 26th minute Torquay had their first chance of the game as they broke clear of L.Schnitzel to fire towards goal but G.Burgess reacted well to save the ball. Five minutes later we came close to losing a goal as the Torquay attack headed towards goal but G.Burgess saved brilliantly to deny them.

Half Time Score 1-0

I made a couple of changes to the team at half time with G.Bear and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for Ishu and A.Anymoredohnuts. The second half for us was pretty poor as we never really came out of the changing room. On the 52nd minute Torquay had another chance with a well worked move which saw G.Burgess bravely smothering the ball at the feet of the attacker. Nine minutes later G.Burgess was on had to deny Torquay again with a great save. On the 73rd minute we conceded the equaliser as B.May jinked through the defence with real ease and fired past G.Burgess. With six minutes remaining Torquay had a clear cut chance to score as T.Owens slid in on the Torquay attack for a penalty, Torquay fired the penalty towards goal but the ball went just wide of the post.

Post Match Review: A good first half but the second half wasn’t good enough. Torquay by rights should’ve battered us. The Man of the Match Award will be going to G.Burgess who prevented Torquay on numerous occasions. Come on lads lets pull our fingers out

February 16th: Morecambe (A) Coca Cola League Two (32/46)

We got off to the best start as within a minute D.O’Toole had fired us into the lead with a well struck effort from just outside the area. On the 16th minute we had our next chance as A.Marks ran down the wing and crossed in for A.Anymoredohnuts who’s header went just over the crossbar. Seven minutes later Morecambe had the next chance of the game as they broke down the middle of the pitch but before there attack had the chance to score but L.Schnitzel slid in and cleared the ball. On the 39th minute we came close as D.O’Toole volleyed towards goal from a Panpardus cross but his effort was brilliantly saved by the Morecambe keeper.

Half Time Score 0-1

Morecambe began the half well and on the 47th minute they came close to grabbing the equaliser as they broke clear of the defence but G.Burgess reacted well and smothered the ball. Six minutes later they had another chance with another great team move which saw them clear of the defence but before they had the chance to shoot L.Schnitzel was there again to clear the threat. On the 65th minute I made a double change as S.Stoehr and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for Panpardus and A.Anymoredohnuts. Twelve minutes later the change seemed to pay off as a L.Schnitzel cross was headed on by F.F.Tikle-Wok for S.Stoehr who wasted no time in slotting home past the keeper. With three minutes remaining we had the final chance of the game as G.Spavlachenko hit a thunderous effort towards goal but the Morecambe keeper reacted well to save the ball

February 23rd: Lincoln (A) Coca Cola League Two (33/46)

Three minutes into the game we grabbed the lead as L.Schnitzel crossed into the area for A.Anymoredohnuts to head past the Lincoln keeper. Eight minutes later we had another chance as S.Stoehr hit a curling effort from outside the area but his effort didn’t curl enough and it went just wide of the post. On the 27th minute we had another chance with D.O’Toole ran through the Lincoln defence but before he had the chance to shoot the Lincoln defence slid in and cleared the ball. With nine minutes remaining in the half A.Marks came close with a rasping effort which had the Lincoln keeper scrambling along his line to save.

Half Time Score 0-1

I made on change to the team at half time with M.Samedan coming on for Ishu. However twelve minutes into the half substitute M.Samedan played the ball loosely back to G.Burgess and C.Fagan intercepted and fired past our keeper to give Lincoln the equaliser. On the 64th minute I made a double change as C.Fantu and F.F.Tikle-Wok coming on for C.de Bruijn and A.Anymoredohnuts. Nine minutes later we had another chance as S.Stoehr again came close with a powerful effort which the Lincoln keeper reacted well to save. With five minutes remaining in the game we had one last chance as F.F.Tikle-Wok ran into the area and headed just wide from a S.Stoehr cross.

Post Match Review: A solid performance as we dominated much of the game, however the game saw us lose two players through injury as L.Schnitzel will be missing for around 2-3 weeks after twisting his knee and M.Samedan will miss around ten days after straining his neck heading a ball. The Man of the Match Award will be going to S.Stoehr who was pivotal in the midfield

The second half saw Cheltenham continue to pile forward and on the 56th minute they had another chance with a powerful effort which had G.Burgess at full stretch to save. Seven minutes later we were reduced to ten men after G.Spavlachenko was sent off for a second yellow card. On the 64th minute I made a double change as G.Bear and F.F.Tikle-Wok came on for C.Fantu and A.Anymoredohnuts. Nine minutes later Cheltenham made their numeral advantage pay off as G.Holt broke into the defence and fired in under G.Burgess. We were never really in the game at all and deep into injury time G.Holt grabbed a second goal with a thunderous effort which flew into the top corner of the net
