Dunlop's 1,000th Knockbreda Goal.

Totals :

Knockbreda : Games, 908 | Goals, 1,037 | Ass, 756 | MoM, 187

N. Ireland : Games, 66 | Goals, 16

Games : 974

Goals : 1,053

Assists : 756

MotM : 187

Not a great season, however, he scored enough goals to move him into second place on the all time Knockbreda Scorers list (Inc. International goals). His stats have declined rapidly, and I can't see him playing much from here, but I will give him 26 games at least, in the next few years, just so he hits the 1,000 apps mark.

Hamilton, do you want to see the re-incarnated version of Bernard Brennan on FM10?

Noticed him as a regen on my Notts County game, and thought that you wouldn't mind seeing him.

I found him aswell but must admit that he doesn't have the same strength as hamilton's :)

Go for it, would be interesting to see him in anyone else's game  (Mikael already showed me his BB when he signed him)

Sadly that type of game is becoming more of an exception rather than the norm. He's rarely hitting hat-tricks either, but he's sticking around a solid 2 goals per games at the moment, which is more than I ever expected. Season update should be coming soon

Spence is certainly well past his peak, but he's still slowly accumulating his way towards the magic 3000 goals. 128 goals in 66 appearances is well below his best, but as his stats are dropping incredibly quickly, anything over 100 in a season is a complete bonus. The average goal target I set him was beaten again, and every goal he gets brings him even closer to beating Smylie. With most likely 2 seasons at most left in him, it'll be a close run thing as to whether he beats Smylie. 3000 looks to be almost a certainty; he only needs 14 more goals to reach that milestone.

For Northern Ireland he is really slowing down. Only 1 goal this season in his 7 caps, but his record is still truly insane.

Spence Season 1: 7 goals

Spence Season 2:18 goals

Spence Season 3: 94 goals

Spence Season 4: 177 goals

Spence Season 5: 285 goals

Spence Season 6: 428 goals

Spence Season 7: 604 goals

Spence Season 8 : 774 goals

Spence Season 9 : 955 goals

Spence Season 10 : 1163 goals

Spence Season 11 : 1361 goals

Spence Season 12 : 1546 goals

Spence Season 13 : 1724 goals

Spence Season 14 : 1903 goals

Spence Season 15 : 2065 goals

Spence Season 16 : 2262 goals

Spence Season 17 : 2431 goals

Spence Season 18 : 2597 goals

Spence Season 19 : 2740 goals

Spence Season 20 : 2868 goals

Paul Spence summary so far (Age 36)

Appearances: 1292

Goals: 2868

Int'l Caps: 130

Int'l Goals: 118

Total Goals: 2986

After 2000 goals

14 goals to go, 160 to beat Smylie

He'll need to average about 80 goals for the next two seasons to beat Smylie, which is possible depending on how badly he drops over the summer.

Mark Stewart:

Age: 25

East Belfast Appearances: 481

East Belfast Goals: 631

Northern Ireland Caps: 41

Northern Ireland Goals: 30

Total Appearances: 522

Total Goals: 661

He's closing in on the 1000 goals, and once Spence retires, he should be the focus of the attack and therefore his goal tally should increase. Would be nice to get a third member of the 1000 goal club

Could you do me a favour?

I remember you said a while ago that you had done this without the corner exploit, and the topic cropped up recently elsewhere as to whether it would be possible to score this sort of number of goals in one season without it. Is there any chance you could give us a screenshot of this screen, along with his profile, just so I can show people it is possible?

My jaw dropped when i saw this thread.. How do your all get your players to score that many goals?

Amazing job everyone.

A combination of dominating the league and setting the team up so he is the only player to get lots of chances really.

Came in to say what kroubles said, complete and utter domination + millions of chances for one player + unbeatable tactic = goals galore.

Spence certainly hit the goal trail at the beginning of this season. Which, it has to be said, was a bit of a shock considering how much his skill level has dropped. Here's a rundown of the goals leading up to the 3000 mark:

13 to go: Stewart plays him into space on the edge of the box, Spence turns and puts it past the Standard Liege keeper Standard Liege 0-3 East Belfast

12 to go: A corner is swung in by McKernan, and Spence is there to prod home the rebound from a header Standard Liege 0-4 East Belfast

11 to go: A cross comes in from Villegas, but it is only cleared to Dima on the edge of the area who puts Spence clear and he finishes easily East Belfast 1-0 Bangor

10 to go: Similar to the second goal against Liege, the corner is played in, it hits the post and Spence puts the rebound in East Belfast 4-0 Bangor

9 to go: Stewart is tripped inside the box and Spence scores the penalty East Belfast 5-1 Bangor

8 to go: A free kick on the edge of the box is taken by Spence, and with the aid of a deflection off the wall it goes in the corner East Belfast 6-1 Bangor

7 to go: Another free kick, this time further out, and Spence puts it into the far corner East Belfast 3-2 Standard Liege

6 to go: And yet another free kick finds the corner, which makes me glad I decided to make him the main free kick taker East Belfast 5-2 Standard Liege

5 to go: Found in space on the edge of the box, he beats a defender and scores his 119th International goal Northern Ireland 1-3 Sweden

4 to go: Played into space again, Spence finds the gap between keeper and post. 120 for his country now Luxembourg 0-2 Northern Ireland

3 to go: The right winger cuts in, and plays a ball between the full back and defender. Spence has a tight angle but finds the far corner Dungannon 0-1 East Belfast

2 to go: A great run from the centre midfielder pulls the centre back out of position, which leaves Spence free to score his 2998th goal Dungannon 0-3 East Belfast

1 to go: The substitute centre midfielder plays a long ball which Spence traps, takes past a defender and blasts in to leave him one short of the milestone Dungannon 0-4 East Belfast

Hopefully it won't be too long before the next goal, and there'll be a separate post to commemorate it.

L.E.G.E.N.D.

An achievement beyond words, and in many ways better than Smylie because his attributes are so much lower and he scores less per season on average.

What a career. I really am lost for words.

Tbf, his attributes have only dropped like a stone in these past 2 seasons, whereas Smylie's dropped really quickly after age 30. So it evens out.

Thanks :D

All of Keirrisons goals were done without the corner exploit can't remember if it was in 08 or 09 now though, but I know Keirrison didn't score any from corners bar the odd screamer afterwards because he was just set to "go forward" I think. The days are counting down til my new PC gets here, and I get to give Keirrison his final few seasons and get him over the 2000 mark for Stoke.

Also congratulations on doing it Kroblues, for a while now Smylie has stood as the standard, long before he broke the 3,000 mark lol. The one thing that will always big me in some ways, is never seeing what Keirrison could do at a similar standard of football, its easy to say in theory he would have got more but he would have had poorer support, Keirrison didn't make a lot from nothing the midfield and targetman would usually tally between 150 - 200 assists a season most of which were for Keirrison.

One thing I would have liked to have done was broke the holy grail of a 200 goal season, the year Real Madrid pinched him was the season Nep threw down that challenge in a roundabout way in which I spent an enormous amount of time sorting everything for optimal performance. Now its a case of if hes scored 2 or 3 before 60 minutes bring him off to preserve him for the next game. At 35 he won't ever hit a 200 goal season, but I can't be 100% I think I'm in November or so of the last season I updated and he was close to a 3 goal a game average.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this other player in the Premiership plays out, my fondness of Keirrison is stunting the development of Leigh Stones, who is a better player, and has from day one had a higher potential than Keirrison. I still find now though, that an average 20 - 30 goals a season strike irritates me to no end, whereas pre-FM09/Keirrison I used to be delighted with that lol.

The 2 years at Real Madrid really annoy me, I genuinely think he would have broken 200 goals in a season then, instead he was at Real Madrid playing second fiddle to Marquinhos and acting as his feeder (he was a part of the real madrid side that broke the goals for counter though, it froze at 255 lol AI uber tactics if I ever did see them).

Chris Higgins

Another season down and Higgins finally assured his place among the greats of the game ,

His 1000th goal came against Chelsea, a bullet header from a raking far post cross (goal Video),

He shows no sign of slowing down and is now also half way towards Gareth Blacks International record as well,

This season also saw Higgins Score the top 2 goals in the Goal of the Season list,

Thought i would share them to give an indication as to just how good he is, I have copied the exact description the game has given for the 2 goals

1st: Chris Higgins - Tottenham (v Wolves, Feb 19th)

Nothing short of genius from the striker as he picks up the ball in his own half and comprehensively beats several wolves players before scoring a well timed close range finish.

2nd: Chris Higgins - Tottenham (v Bristol City, 13th Nov)

A great run and finish from Higgins as he takes on three opponents before scoring a well timed close range finish.

He has alot of years left ahead of him so the next target will be 1500 and maybe beyond :D,

@ Dafuge,

I have played till 1st Jan of my new season and Higgins is still banging in the goals, He has so far scored 81 Goals in 38 Games if you include both Club and International Games :D

Not sure what level of goals from Corners would be deemed to be acceptable by the masses in order to prove no corner bug used, but here are the screen shots you asked for,

I have included The Goals from corners page from the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup, also for the International goals i have included the Qualifying Table and the Goals from Corners page,

At Club level I think it works out as about 15% of the total team goals are from corners at this stage, 15 of 96

Hope they help you Prove it is possible:thup:

And also hope they prove that Higgins is a Genuine Legend

Chris Higgins

Following the achieviement of reaching 1000 goals last season, Higgins set about climbing the all time goals scorer rankings, another succesful season saw him fly past some Legends and up as far as 5th in the all time list,

Another fantastic season has also seen him get within 15 goals of his 1000th goal for Tottenham which will be a massive milestone,

Having just turned 27 i am hoping that he still has a long time ahead of him, but i do worry that because his game is so dependent on Pace and trickery that he will probably decline much earlier than many other players, The overall target of 2000 is i think still achievable and the next few years should get us some where close,

But for now, 15 goals to the big 1000 for Tottenham and also only 6 away from 200 for his country :D

That international scoring record is insane. And 2000 is still a possibility imo, especially as he's just coming up to his peak.

Luckily, England have drawn a number of minnows in both qualifying campaigns and in the finals in recent times meaning there have been some very high scores with him bagging 5 or 6 goals a time, Also i got the England job fairly early on in his career so could ensure he played regularly and had a tactic to suit,

But i do agree that 2000 should be the ultimate aim, which would be immense in the Premiership

PVentress any chance of sharing your tactic, would love to see how you set it up to have such a high scoring striker?

Will be more than happy to share it when i get back from work, but even though i have set it up to make him the centre of all we do, i think it is more to do with his own insane ability than anything much i have done tactically,

But will post it up later if your interested,

In my opinion, if you are trying to get a striker scoring like this then you need to set up the tactic to fit that individuals specific skills, therefore may not work for others but would be interesting to see

I have a player I could see score loads of goals but I'm a complete tactical noob and would never figure out how to change it in order to fit one player. I would love a peak at your tactic :)

Keirrison returns in 2-3 weeks

Next week I'll have finally topped up the new computer fund, and it'll be ordered and on its way. So Keirrison will be brought back out of obscurity for his twilight years lol. I suspect 2,000 career goals will be passed before the end of the current season, and 2,000 goals in the premiership/for stoke before he turns 38 if he doesn't retire.

Considering how much faster this new PC will process it should allow me to pick the save up comfortably and get into it again, as it was getting bogged down before due to the amount of information in the save.

PVentress - Stop, please?! I want those international records!

In all seriousness, a fantastic job mate, getting him to score as many as you have in the Premier League really is one of the greatest achievements in the history of this challenge.

I must admit he has surprised me,

I never for one second thought he would get to this level !!!!!!

I did think that Gareth Blacks record was a little out of reach to begin with, but maybe not :D

Was just made a little easier though by him scoring 9 in a 12 - 1 win over Latvia  which included his 200th international goal,

Ill post a video of it later as it was some goal to reach the landmark
