weeeman27bob
Welcome to the FM10 Liverpool Thread General Stadium - Anfield Captain - Steven Gerrard The legend - Fernando Torres History If it wasn't for one man, Liverpool Football Club would never have been born. When Everton left Anfield in a dispute over rent in 1892, club chairman John Houlding stayed behind along with a handful of supporters and just three first-team players. But he was determined to see football continue at the ground. He formed a new club from scratch, chose the name Liverpool… and created a legend. A good allround keeper with no real weaknesses. However he is not, at least in my eyes, a world class keeper, so could be replaced by a young superstar. Diego Cavalieri: A very capable backup keeper. Not as good as Reina, but a noble deputy. Could be sold for cash early on, but should probably be kept unless you get an exceptional offer. Could, and probably should, be replaced by a younger backup for the second or third season. Goalkeeper Summary: Two good keepers. No need to invest in a new one quickly. Centre backs Jamie Carragher: Probably the best starting defender at the club. Good in the air, although is a little slow. Needs replacing eventually due to age. Very strong mentally, and so a decent choice for vice-captain. Martin Skrtel: A bit like a younger version of Carragher. Good in the air, not the fastest over the ground. A decent player who should be in and around the team in the first season, and then should be backup when new players are brought in. Sotiris Kyrgiakos: Good in the air, but not really a ball player. Not very fast. A decent starter for the first season, but should probably be replaced sooner rather than later. Daniel Agger: Strong all round. Good with the ball, and has a decent long shot. Should probably be a starting player, and is definitely one to keep. Unlike the others, he is quite fast. Centre Back Summary: Four very capable defenders. None is world class, and two are quite old. A definite area for improvement. Right Backs Glen Johnson: Easily the best right back in the club, and probably the best in the league. Good going forward, and should probably be more of a wingback. Good in defence too. Stephen Darby: A decent defensive right back, but doesn't offer much going forward. Should only really be used when Johnson is injured or in easy games. Right Back Summary: One very good player, one rather poor back up. A new young backup player should probably be brought in. Left Backs Fabio Aurelio: A fairly decent left back. Can defend and attack in equal measure. Can take set pieces. He is, though, getting quite old and a replacement will need to be found before too long. Emiliano Insua: Has the potential to be better than Aurelio. However it is unlikely he will ever be world class. If someone else is brought in, he will be a very capable deputy. Good going forward and in defence. Left Back Summary: Two decent players. Could easily be strengthened, but not needed immediately. Midfielders Javier Mascherano: A very good defensive midfielder. Will win lots of tackles. Not outstanding with the ball or in the air, but definitely a good player in a defensive role. Does pick up a fair amount of cards though. Lucas: A fairly good midfielder who can play defensive and central roles. Fairly poor in the air. Very quick and is quite good with the ball. Can be sold, although I think he might be worth keeping for a season or two. Alberto Aquilani: A new addition to the squad. A good player all round. Skillful with the ball, and decent with out it. A starter, probably in a Central role. Steven Gerrard: An outstanding attacking midfielder. He is basically a complete player. Best in an attacking role, but can play centrally or defensively if needed. A good goal scorer and provider. Midfielder Summary: Four good players, but replacements are easily found, and one or two young players should probably be brought in. Wingers Yossi Benayoun: Good with the ball. Can play both wing and central roles and is very versatile. Poor in the air. There are better options around, but at a cost. Benayoun should probably be sold sooner rather than later, but can put a decent season or two in. Ryan Babel: Full of potential, but again there are better players around. Very versatile. In my mind, he's very much an impact sub player. Can easily be cashed in to make some dosh though. Dirk Kuyt: Not the greatest player on the ball, but will work hard with or without it. Scores and provides a fair few goals. Not a spring chicken anymore though, so could quite easily be sold. Albert Riera: An out and out winger, who can score goals. Unlike most wingers, he's good in the air. Could be sold, but should probably be kept for a season or two. Winger Summary: Four decent players, but lacking any real world class players. All could play very capable back up if a couple of decent wingers were brought in. An area to improve for sure. Strikers Fernando Torres: A one man scoring machine. Left foot, right foot, headers, long shots. This man can do them all. Along with Gerrard, he should be the main point of your team. Anyone who even considers selling him is barmy. Andriy Voronin: Fresh from a season in Germany, the veteran striker is back on Mersyside. Will score goals, but probably shouldn't start. At his age, any cash will come soon for him. David N'Gog: A decent player with the potential to get much better. Shouldn't start, but league cup games would seem sensible. One to keep for the future. Strikers Summary: One outstanding player, one old and one young, a real mixed bag. A young top quality striker would be a great addition. I do understand it's a bit scrappy at the moment, but it will be built up to scratch by the end of the week! Get posting!

antg1985
Great OP I have looked through the squad and the reserves/under 18's are not up to much, going to sell most of them as you only get around 2mil budget. I sold Dossena and Lucas to Man city for 9mill each, sent Ngog out on loan, sold Vorinin for around 3mil i think, sold Kuyt for 7 mill and Benny for the same as I think he is majorly underated in the game. I have bought Jovetic and Hamsik so far and a good 16 year old keeper from PSG, hope he turns out good. I will be playing a 4-2-3-1 so need a good right winger. It going to be alot harder this year without the money just hope the yanks get bought out.
Staf9
Really can't wait to go hom e from work! Dumbo6
I have just started playing the demo & Lazio sold me Pandev for 4.8 million. 7. Shevchenko
When bidding, try to spread out the fee over 48 months as it frees up money for the current transfer window. Similarly, only accept offers for your players that are one lump sum - it maximises the amount of money available to spend. Just beat City away 4-0!! Wee Aja
Quite a challenge this year isn't it? IWWROCKS
He probably went there because he wants experiance. IWWROCKS
Is he any good? an using a 4-2-3-1 but have 1 DM and 1 MC instead of 2 MC/DMCHavent seen anything like that up to now He has been pretty good actually. He's rated higher than the criminally underrated Aqualani. So he's a starer/rotated with lucas and Krivets. He's got a couple of assits in 9 performances this year and has played some good passes. Him, Lucas and Krivets are all trying to fit that Deep Lying Playmaker role. Krivets probably the most suited but not quite at the stage where he can really dominate the prem so it's handy to have the other two to help out too.
