Well, at least Sjefke is playing again. 4 goals in 16 isn't too hot but the points are coming in again after two dreadful seasons. Hope he can find his groove to save Tenerife from relegation, though even if Sjefke were to play in the Adelante next season it should do wonders for the goals scored. :)

The next update will probably not be ready until Saturday, as it's results day today (yay), and I don't fancy writing an update right now. Out tonight, so I'm not going to commit to having an update ready for tomorrow ;) Race 6 should be wrapped up at the weekend though, with the end of season report and screenshots up sometime

Thanks for your continued support and interest in this sign-up, and I just hope we don't get a runaway leader so it will be easier to keep it interesting! (sorry bergtaur :p)

Race 6 of 18, End of race update (24/6/14), Part 2

We're now a third of the way through the competition, and we have our first 2-time race winner in Gervase Smith, who comfortably held on to his mid-race lead. Jamie Mitchell and Alex Yong managed to hold onto 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The highest climber from December was Danny McKay, who moved up 10 places to secure a 4th place finish, and he shows that Germany is definitely the place to be at the moment, with the players finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th all currently playing in the German top flight.

Darren Gilmartin, up in 6th place earlier, dropped 15 places to miss out on the points. Ricky Nakano also fell away badly, dropping 14 places to 22nd, and is still in search of his first points.

The top goalscorer (for the 2nd year in a row) was James May, with 31 goals in the Blue Square South for Bishop's Stortford. May also topped another list: worst discipline, with 13 yellow and 2 red cards in the season.

Despite playing 17 games for Levante this season, Brettney Joven failed to score a single goal, the only person who didn't. Levante did however manage to avoid relegation in the end.

And lastly, this race saw the 33rd different player picking up points. Tom Hamilton of the Czech Republic finished 15th to earn 1 point following his move to Jablonec.

Well Jonathan makes a great second half come back to move up to 9th and gain more points in the challenge, good to see that even with my contract expiring clubs want me. MK Dons have served me well its time to move somewhere bigger.

PS. I have still scored points in every race and i believe I am the only one to do so :p

Extending the lead, but how did Gervase get so many starts in the Danish first league?

33 league, 4 cup, 11 continental. They got to the Champions League Group Stage (through the qualifying rounds), then played a EURO Cup knockout round.

Race 7 of 18, Transfer window update (2/9/14)

Injury news:

- James May is out for 2 months with a fractured wrist.

- Zappy Zap is out for 2-8 days with a damaged foot.

- Daemon is injured for 5-6 weeks with a twisted ankle.

- Ben Taylor has a torn groin muscle, and is out for 3-4 weeks.

- Nick Jnr. is out for 4-5 months with a torn calf muscle.

Transfer news:

- Another busy summer saw 10 players moving clubs, including 3 finally getting a transfer out of the lower reaches of English football. The 3 transfers when contracts expired were Brian Moore moving from Blackpool to Celtic, Mark Cooper leaving Eastleigh for Mlada Boleslav of the Czech Republic and Sam Fisher joining Rangers from Vauxhall.

Moussa Gol'o has now left Toronto Croatia to become the first player to play in Eastern Asia, joining Incheon of South Korea for £35k. Heading back to Europe is Darren Gilmartin, who signed for Dinamo of Croatia from Melbourne Victory for £1.2M.

Following Cooper's arrival at Mlada Boleslav at the start of July, 2 other players joined the club during the transfer window. Tom Hamilton left Jablonec for £575k, while Liami Hurstovic joined for £240k from Hucknall. Interestingly Cooper and Hurstovic are both on £2k p/w, but Hamilton is only earning £1.4k p/w.

The remaining 3 deals all involved Spanish clubs. After Tenerife's relegation from the LIGA BBVA, Sjefke Vandervlugge signed for Betis of the top division for £5.75M. Jonathan left MK Dons when his contract ran out, and chose to join Gimnastic of the LIGA adelante. The last transfer involved Gervase Smith, who signed for Barcelona for £18M from FC Kobenhavn.

- Mikael Senna is wanted by Sao Paulo, Karlsruhe, Bologna, America (MEX), Cadiz and Furth.

- Cristobal Blanco is wanted by Ipswich, Falkirk, Hearts and Melbourne Victory.

- Slartibartfast Irjala is wanted by Blackpool, Watford, MK Dons and Melbourne Victory.

- Alex Yong is wanted by Crystal Palace and Sporting. (Crystal Palace seems like a strange club to want Yong, but they are rich after being taken over by a Czech tycoon near the start of the game).

- Carlos Ferrari is wanted by Cardiff, Modena, Reggiana, Falkirk and Partick Thistle.

- Moussa Gol'o is wanted by Jeonbuk.

- Wok Ho Lai is wanted by Cardiff and Watford.

- Nee Thaweechoksubsin is wanted by Stoke, A.S. Saint-Etienne, OGC Nice Cote d'Azur, Falkirk and Hibernian.

- Buay Tahan is wanted by Cardiff, Watford and Falkirk.

- Brandon Cooke is wanted by A.S. Nancy Lorraine, ADO Den Haag, NAC Bread, Rayo and Furth.

- Brettney Joven wants to be transfer listed at Levante, and is wanted by Malaga.

- Pee Wee wants to move to a bigger club, and is wanted by Valladolid.

- Ricky Nakano wants to move to a bigger club.

- James May is wanted by Cardiff, Watford and MK Dons.

- Zappy Zap is wanted by Partick Thistle.

- Daemon is wanted by Valenciennes FC and Tours Football Club.

- Ben Taylor is wanted by Falkirk and Newcastle Jets.

Other news:

- 18 players are now valued at £1m or more.

- Distribution of players: NAT (1), Ade (3), SPL (3), SaPL (1), CCC (6), BSP (3), BSN/S (5), IP/NP/SP (4), A-L (1), Eks (1), Bun (3), 2B1 (1), SSL (1), BBVA (2), AuPD (1), CZD1 (3), CFD (1), K-L (1), GSW (1).

No players in the English Premier Legaue this season, and none in League 1 or 2. There are also now less players in the BSS, BSN or below.

Home Race:

Remarkably 8 people chose Race 7 as their home race:

Name - Current position - Best finish

Darren Gilmartin - Joint 34th - 21st

Kenichi Morishita - 19th - 6th

Joe Tompkins - Joint 34th - 19th

Liam Ferguson - 27th - 7th

Brandon Cooke - Joint 34th - 16th

Magnus Vestergaard - Joint 10th - 3rd

Gervase Smith - 3rd - 1st

Brettney Joven - 28th - 11th

So, Betis for Sjefke. Good news, and some Europa League football to look forward too. Hopefully the measly 9 goals last season were due to Tenerife's horrible midfield that got them relegated, and Betis will get Sjefke the supply he needs to shine :D

Race 7 of 18, Mid-race update (31/12/14), Part 1

Following the domination of players from the Bundesliga last race, with the players finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th all plying their trade in Germany, this race sees the top 4 all playing in different countries. It's Sjefke Vandervlugge who leads the way currently after his move to Betis, scoring 14 times.

However, just behind the Belgian is Championship leader Jamie Mitchell, who looks on course for his 5th consecutive podium. Bielefeld aren't faring as well this season though, so Mitchell could soon move on to a bigger club. Darren Gilmartin, in his home race, completes the provisional podium places, reaping the benefits of a move to his home country, Croatia.

In 4th and 6th at this stage are 2 Mlada Boleslav strikers, Mark Cooper and Tom Hamilton, with 28 goals between them in 21 matches. Liami Hurstovic has only managed 2 goals so far for the Czech club.

3 other players with their home race this season are in the top 15, including Brandon Cooke of Partizan in 8th and Gervase Smith, who is struggling compared to the last 2 races, as he is in 12th. Smith has only made 6 appearances for Barcelona after joining from Denmark in the summer.

The top goalscorer is Cristobal Blanco, who has scored an incredible 19 goals in 20 games. Unfortunately for him, he still plays for Redditch of the Southern Premier, and is down in 27th.
