The Welsh Lad
Upon reading an article, about Liverpool's request to have more of the european premier league tv rights share, instead of it being split equally. Many say if this does happen then the gap between the top clues and the rest will become bigger. So, this will be implemented in FM in some way (if it does happen), along with the transfers becoming slightly more realistic in asking prices for important players (even though some complain its not right because its to hard to sign top players) this will make it more challenging to take over lower clubs, by not having the same level of funding as before meaning you have to rely on player development and scouting less known countries and leagues to unearth that hidden talent. Whilst for FM purposes I think this should happen, for real life football I don't think it should. Its up to you if you want to comment. Just wanted to get some thoughts out there. x42bn6
It's not going to happen any time soon.
milnerpoint
Yeah before this happens there is going to have to be a fundamental change to English football, not something that will happen soon.
Carmi88
I cant see the majority of clubs voting for it to happen.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted October 13, 2011 Administrators Share Posted October 13, 2011 Judging from the responses from the clubs so far (including Chelsea and Man Utd, two of the teams likely to gain more than lose) it's never going to happen. joetheref
The last time this was bought up (think it was by Man United but not sure) it was outvoted by 19 to 1 so probably not going to happen but would certainly be interesting if it did
TheMaestro
It's only been suggested by Liverpool becuase they are too cheap to build a new stadium or expand Anfield
MrPompey
I'll eat my FM2012 if this happens
The_Future\'s_Maroon
Do Liverpool want the EPL to turn into the SPL, where the top clubs get all the money and the other clubs are left miles behind and then the whole league suffers?
hirsty1867
If Liverpool and whoever else wants this stupid idea ought to go and play in Europe, Asia or wherever and let the rest get on with it. If the TV rights deal goes down the same line as in Spain the already large gap will become even greater. Money has ruined football.
themadsheep2001
FM has always had modest requirements compared to many other PC games. Is this something that is holding back the AI/development of the AI? Something i have always wondered
Overmars
...Money has ruined football. I would modify that to "Money has ruined sports." That said, it's ultimately the fans who pay for everything, with more advertising/commercial/expense intrusion into the entertainment provided.
