Press Conferences

I think the "Additional Comments" box should allow more characters. Sometimes I can't fit it all in.

Seconded. I'm having fun trying to make my comments more concise. It does mean though that we can't indulge in cliché speak because there isn't enough room to put "well at the end of the day" for every comment.

Here's something for you to laugh at.

I was asked "Who do you think will win the Premiership?" (I'm stoke BTW) : I replied: Manchester United -- and now my players have reacted badly. Come on, it's not like Stoke are going to win the prem -- the press conferences need a little work imo.

I said Wolves (I'm Charlton) and they were upset. For a laugh I reloaded and said Palace and they were just as narked when they should really be more so. The fans didn't seem to care either and I'm sure any Charlton manager who touted Palace for the title would be roundly heckled.

Having said that I am enjoying them and if the text typing bug is sorted I'll enjoy them even more.

Haha, I'm Arsenal and I said Stoke to be funny - barely anything was said about it. Adebayour thought I should be more ambitious!

I like the press conferences but there are some problems with it - such as being asked the same question twice in a row!

Also yes, we need a bigger text box. It's quite annoying that it doesn't tell you when you're at the end of the character amount either.

And the space to write is to small. If you pass the limit, you wont be seing what you are witting.

Perhaps it needs making bigger I agree, but I should imagine if it wasn't it would just scroll along automatically.

I think the text box needs to be made bigger aswell. It is a great feature IMO and making the text box bigger would allow you to extend your answer .

Indi75, while you may not like it, some actual see the "fun" side so it doesn't harm you if you don't like it since you can ask your assistant manager to take care of Press conferences.

To be fair it's the first time that press conference's have been introduced. You have to give them time - Rome wasn't built in a day.

(the bit in bold is the bit I would have said... you get the general gist I'm sure)

Like i said: you cant see the letters if you go off limits. Fixing that was good.

What is annoying though is getting asked same question 2-3 times consecutively but in different wordings...

I am playing as Arsenal and when asked who should be world player of year, I said Toure. Next thing, Toure's profile says "Toure does not feel worthy of myname's comments. Three other players' profiles say: playername is worried by myname's comments. title of feedback from press conference was: "Baffling Toure choice for world player of the year". I thought the whole thing was hilarious.

The game doesn't understand what you type into the box. It just stores it and may print it out in a news item.

I never saw that but the game does not interpret what you type, AFAIK.

Yep, it does that. It's quite nice cause it even got the reason for my expletive-filled rant right. The sunday mirror asked me 3 times about whether I was buying Gokhan Inler, two of those in the same conference. The new item afterwards said that I "seemed to take offence at being repeatedly asked the same question".

Love this feature, the way the media and your players react to everything you say is great and as somebody mentioned the way it quotes your answers is very good.

I've done it a number of times and not seen anything I've wrote talked about. I'd also say that the choice of response's are poor and dont always sound right for the question you have been asked.

The choice of responses could use a bit of tweaking in places, yes. I have seen things I've written talked about a few times.

I started at Farsley Celtic, and during my press conference they asked if this was my deam job. I said I am happy that Im able to work here, now my squad hates me. Lol.

something interesting: I mentioned complacency in one of my answers and the next question was about complacency. I mentioned being focused in that one and the news item had the word 'focused' in the title.

I wonder whether it checks text strings to find further possibly related questions and/or headlines?

Most of what comes out of their mouths doesn't really bear any resemblance to recognisable words, though...

The amount of characters that you can fit in the press conference comments box is more then enough, at least for me. It's a purely cosmetic feature as it doesn't affect any outcome so to me, it's fine the way it is. I do find the press conferences interesting. Let's hope they don't get too repetitive as each game goes on. I would love to do a press conference before a Champions League final but hey, that's a dream for now.

For a laugh, I called a journo a c*nt, emulating the great (as in size, not superiority) Joe Kinnear. I was well pleased that the game picked up on the fact I'd cussed the journo!

I was asked who I thought would win the title. No problem, Chelsea. A week later I was asked again. Again I responded Chelsea, and then I was told I was being indecisive on the issue.

Who else swears? Especially when I lose or my team performs badly. It's fun.

I'm not sure.. If I write "I hate my boys." How good fm understand it or are it only cool?
