hammers123
Just a question about affiliated clubs. You are managing a league 2 team and inherit a parent club from a higher league in the same country. You become extremely successful and end up in a better league than your parent club. Does the club remain your parent club even though you are in a higher league? Or do they become your feeder club? Or does the affiliation between the two teams finish? Ive just always wondered. And have never been successful enough to actually find out haha.
soldierblue123
They no longer remain your parent club. Here's an example I have just got promoted to the Premier league and Arsenal (my parent club) severed the ties. So I no longer have a parent club. TomHAVFC
I would of thought that the parent team would stop the link.
peter-evo
One of the teams would stop the link!
saulty2805
Your not allowed affiliates in the same league as you. well, thats the impression i got anyway
Scotty Walds
Sometimes you get offered a feeder in the same league - I won Serie A, then was offered a fellow Serie A side as a feeder. One year, we finished 1st and 2nd
trekman
Sometimes you get offered a feeder in the same league - I won Serie A, then was offered a fellow Serie A side as a feeder. One year, we finished 1st and 2nd I think that Italian football is probably a bit unique. Since they dont actually have a reserve league they loan their players among themselves so thats probably the arrangement you have. However an affiliate relationship is normally cancelled if both clubs are playing in the same league at the same time.
Scotty Walds
I've had it in England too... got promoted into the same league, then even finished above them. Lasted a few seasons...
ssestig
Your not allowed affiliates in the same league as you.well, thats the impression i got anyway that's usually what happens although i had been promoted and kept my link with my parent team that we in the same league as so i cancelled the link myself. samdiatmh
could you imagine if you were in a league (CHampionship) and you got promoted to the Prem and then your parent club got relegated from the Prem lol
Nomis07
In Germany I had Cottbus as a feeder team and the link remained when they got promoted to the 1.Bundesliga, maybe it's different rules in Germany. It's embarrassing when your feeder team beats you
Funkin\' Hussler
I've had it in England too... got promoted into the same league, then even finished above them. Lasted a few seasons... How has this occurred? On any of my saves, as soon as you get into the same league as your parent club, the tie is severed as its against FA rules. stevie_G_32201
yes as soon as you enter the same league as a feeder/parent club the link is broken.

Heartwork
My Gillingham team are in CCC and so are my parent team, Crystal Palace. I beat them 2-1 at the start of the season, but no severed ties.
BPGooner
Can't work it on the demo but I heard we could suggest feeder/parent clubs to the board in FM09. Does anyone know if this is the case and how to do it?

Does anyone know if this is the case and how to do it? Miles said you have to be managing the team long enough that they trust you so probably wont work in demo

Parkera
It works in the demo! As Utd, Palace or Notts i asked for feeder and parent (Utd EX) and got options given to me. So it does work in demo.
