[FM18] Following the money using the Asian persuasion

Asian football has exploded in the last couple of decades or so, in my not so great opinion it started when Gary Lineker went to Japan, then when big bucks started arriving in Saudi Arabia and Qatar and the more recent megabucks in going to China.

In this save I'll be starting as a Bhutanese manager, managing in Bhutan and following the scent of money as I hop from club to club going for more and more money until I reach the top and create a legacy...or get sacked and go to the next highest bidder!

Why am I Bhutanese? Well, I wanted my manager nationality to have the lowest reputation and whilst Northern Mariana has the lowest reputation they also aren't FIFA affiliated and don't qualify for continental competition so Bhutan was the next worst on the list.

97 leagues loaded ranging from Japan to the Northern Mariana Islands.

I already have my first job, and we're looking for some High Quality amateur football!

High Quality United logo.png

High Quality United F.C. is a football club from Thimphu, Bhutan who competes in the Thimphu League.

High Quality United first appeared in the 2017 Thimphu League, in which they won 6 games, lost 7, and drew once against Bhutan U-19s with a score of 0–0. They finished their inaugural season in 5th. As they did not place in the top 3, they did not qualify to the 2017 Bhutan National League, but they were not relegated and will play again in the 2018 Thimphu League.

A lot of youngsters in the squad and just 2 players who are currently useful.

I'd wish you luck, but I'm a Druk Stars supporter, like my father before me, and my father's father before him.

Your name may be High Quality but you're just a dirty shoe in my book.

Thanks @ManUtd1! pfft a poor Druk Stars supporter, you should be supporting their big brother Druk United. A dirty shoe? You'll be lucky if we're wearing any shoes!

Hate to be the team that Transport United drew against...

That would be a 0-0 draw against Tertons in the very first game of the season.

Awesome! I loved your St. Buryan save, but I love the exotic ones even more!

Well then I hope you'll enjoy this! :D

Gotta love ironic club names. High Quality United and then you look at the players..... :D

With decades of improvements I'm sure the prophecy of High Quality will come true. :D

By the way, did Transport Utd lose every match by 1-0 and 2-0 or what? It's a surprisingly low goal difference from a team that finished the season on just 1 point.

There's a few big defeats in there, two 4-0 losses and three 3-0 losses, it'll be interesting to see if they survive the relegation playoff.

Aw, I was banned for a single day so I couldn't ask for a perfectionist-in-Oceania save :(

Still though, this looks very fun. Can't wait to see what teams of Lower Quality than this one will approach you next.

Maybe you can try it :D Quality Distributor of Guam would seem a logical next step.

He did score 12 goals in 15 for Thimphu City and now has 3 in 3 for us, the joys of Bhutan!

Just the one win in September but we win the league with 15 points from 10 games! This means that we enter the 2018 Asian Confederation Cup! :D

Vincent won't be a key player for us, and I'm surprised he even joined us, as in joining us he relinquished his role as Thimphu City manager! :D The Thimphu City board then offered me an interview, which I declined.

Very unlucky going out in the Confederation Cup, New Radiant completely outplayed us but we got a late winner in the home leg then they scored 2 penalties in the away leg, New Radiant then beat Pakistani side K.R.L (Khan Research Labatories) 5-0 on aggregate to send them into the group stage. A mixed start in the league as well with a heavy defeat away to Tertons. It's annoying to see that Thimphu City aren't struggling without Vincent in charge.

Shame about that AFC Cup. Those Southern Asian opponents don't look all too hard to defeat in a couple seasons time. Before you know the money is flowing in!

Hopefully in the next couple of seasons the quality of youth improves a lot to push us further in continental competition, all we have to do is qualify in the first place which may prove tricky!

What country is New Radiant from?

I'm almost wishing you to stay with the club untill they're actually High Quality

They're from the Maldives, and if I don't get any offers from a semi-pro side or a bigger amateur side then I'll probably stay here for a while anyway!

Great, late comeback over Druk it seems :D

Great first season in Bhutan. Transport Utd done a tad better this season too

It was nice to be the ones scoring the late goals, instead of conceding them!

Transport won the relegation playoff group last season, it looks like they'll have to do it again this season.

We thumped Thimphu City and we're top of the Champions Playoff early on! Big news is that Transport Utd made it out of the bottom 2!

We get another Youth Recruitment upgrade as well.

We also brought in some players currently in the national team to add to our depth.
